How did it go ? Terrible. First off, Alex is NOT licensed from what I could find in the State of VA licensed contractors database. I should have researched this first and foremost prior to hiring him. So this alone should have been a sign. Upon arrival the first day of work, Alex and his team did not show up on time they showed up halfway through the day and left early for another job. I hired them for some new interior doors and trim install, something that is pretty straightforward, but it was far from that. It took Alex and his guys over 2 weeks to install 7 new doors and the baseboard trim, most of doors came pre-hung. They never worked a full day and never showed up on the days that they said they were going too. This job should have taken 2 days at the most with the amount of guys he had coming in and out, but we soon realized these guys do not know what they are doing. They broke one new door frame, the trim install is terrible, the pocket door installs are still not done and there is still issues with three of the bedroom doors where the frames were not installed correctly. Alex had to make over 20 trips to our home to rework things that were not done correctly and when he did his rework, it still was left incomplete. He left before jobs were done with no notice and then tried to place the blame on me or others. As of today, the work is still not done correctly and he now refuses to make another trip. Starting tomorrow, we will now be taking the next steps required to recoup the monies paid for the spotty labor that was done. He originally agreed to pay us back and now refuses, stating that it isn't fair. What isn't fair is that he told us he knew how to do this work but he clearly doesn't. What isn't right is I paid him for the work before it was complete or done correctly. The amount of damages to our home and our furniture caused by the carelessness of his workers is a long laundry list. I would stay away from Alex and his guys for any interior work. I will soon be submitting pictures of the work, damages and text messages from him so you all can see with your own eyes what kind of work he does. His excuses are endless, so don't believe them. STAY AWAY.

He is the ultimate landscape and yard professional, He is always punctual, provides an estimate, does the work extremely quickly and well. He uses email and text messaging for billing and arranging payments. His work is transformational, He is just amazing.

I have been hiring Alex and his team for 5+ years now to do yard work, lawn care/mowing and other projects at my house. They have always done a fantastic job at a reasonable price. Alex is a great communicator and very easy to work with. Most recently I hired them to do a day-long cleanup of my entire yard prior to a refinancing appraisal (and I didn’t have a lot of advance notice to schedule!) - they got the job done quickly and it came out looking great. Highly recommended and I hope to continue working with Alex for many years.

Alex’s team did a fantastic job. Very competitive estimate. Arrived on time and worked very efficiently. His crew is respectful of your property and aware of the crew’s impact on neighbors property/parking. High quality work! Alex is very responsive during the coordination process as well.

LOVE Alex and his team! He's super quick to turn around an estimate, and is great at communicating exactly when they're going to arrive, what they're going to do, and when they'll be done. They've done a little of everything for me, from electrical, to tile, to carpentry and yard work. They are really respectful of your property, putting up protection before work begins and thoroughly cleaning up (and hauling away trash!!) when they're done. I've found the prices to be competitive, but the service is what rocks. Best of all, I just really trust them to do a great job!

Could not be more pleased with the landscaping work Alex completed. I needed to re-do a couple of tired beds in my front yard, and the finished product looks great. Alex helped me choose plants that would grow better in each of the areas, even sending me pictures from the nursury before making the final purchase. His quote was very fairly priced, and his communications timely. My next-door neighbor also complimented the job (this matters in town-home life!) and took his information for future work she may need. I would definitely recommend Alex’s Yard & Home Improvement!

I am very pleased with the services provided by this company. Alex was responsive to my request and he and his team performed their work with diligence and care. His team trimmed my holly trees and laurels; cleaned-up my plant beds, and mulched. They were excellent and the price was extremely reasonable. I will definitely use this service again.

I was very happy with the work. He came promptly for an estimate, sent me estimates and pictures by email and was very responsive by phone and text. He and his crew were very polite and professional - I barely felt their presence. They were quick and clean and very friendly.

They come every week. I am very satisfied with the plantings, and the job they do. They are responsive, and knowledgeable. They clean-up after themselves and clean-up the yard debris. I have no complaints. They are neat.
