Ace Deck & Fence

Working with Ali and Ace was great. He was very specific and accurate in his estimates, drawing a careful diagram and marking the sections with different heights of boards, which were alternating boards or not, etc. My neighbor and I replaced our fences together and Ace did a good job dividing up the costs into two appropriate invoices and meeting both of our needs. The fence looks great. A couple of other contractors who do fences have been in my yard before and since and have voluntarily said that they did a great job. The lack of communication from the company before starting was a drawback--coming home to find the fence removed without notice was work was a bit of a shock. A plant or two in the flower beds got killed from being stepped on or covered in clay. And despite efforts, the final rubble/blocks were never removed from my yard. But these are pretty small complaints over a project generally well done.

We had Ace install our fence last fall. This Spring and summer after several heavy storms we found one of our outside drains was backing up causing water to flow into the house. We called a plumber who tried to snake the drain and then put a camera in. He said that the drain was compromised with concrete near the fence post, so we called Ali at Ace for a consult. The Ace crew excavated the drain, which involved breaking up a stone sidewalk to find that the drain line actually diverged away from the fence post and had cracked and filled with dirt. I was impressed with how quickly Ace responded and addressed our concerns. As it turned out the compromised drain line was not their fault, but they worked with us to get it repaired and replaced the stone sidewalk like new for a very fair price.

The deck and fencing looks great. There was a minor issue with the fence, but they took care of it promptly and to our satisfaction. Ali was very responsive and professional and I would highly recommend them to others. The county did advise that an electrical outlet was required and Ace stated they were not aware of this, but did install for extra amount. It was a bit of a hassle and wish we could have had insight to this to this issue but we were very happy with the service.

Super. They responded with a request for quote quickly as we were taking a trip overseas. We signed the contract with a few open ends but with a commitment to complete it by 9 June. In spite of the very rainy period, they completed the deck as promised, including the addition of extra work (reworked existing stairs). Although they committed to the schedule assuming good weather, they worked through and around the rain and some heavy downpours to complete the job as requested. Minor residual work (reconnecting gas and water line) was done as originally planned. All of the questions and requests were met very promptly, courteously, and constructively. Very professional job, and we could not be more pleased.

It was an excellent experience from start to finish. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly professional and skilled, from Ali to his building team to the office staff. We love the work that was done, have gotten tons of compliments from neighbors and love using our backyard now that we have as closed in space to entertain and relax. The quality of the materials is superb and the workmen were very careful in working with our old fence as well as installing the electrical system in our very old house. Yes, you will have to wait as they are super busy but it is totally worth the wait. When we're ready to re-do our old fence and build a deck this will be the company we work with and if we have to wait in line to get it done, we'll do so happily.

From estimate to completion of the project, Ali and his team were extremely professional, helpful and responsive. After scheduling an estimate, Ali arrived on time, provided a far more detailed estimate than any of the other companies I had contacted (or his other competitors who came out and did not even provide an estimate, but I digress). Within 24 hours, Ali had emailed a detailed layout and plan for the project, included an estimate for each line item of the project. This included all of the permitting with DC gov't, materials, detailed descriptions of the work to be performed, etc. Ali and his team begun work after the contract was signed and ensured the project moved along smoothly to completion. I have received numerous compliments from neighbors, friends and family. I'd definitely recommend Ace Deck & Fence!

Excellent from the start. We had other fence contractors out and Ali was the best. Very relaxed and professional. We hit it off immediately. He gave us the best quote for the work by far. We went back and forth a few times to make sure we got all the details right. Once we got the green light he sent in a crew that tore down our old fence and put the new one up in three hours. WOW! The back yard and pergola were put up swiftly by high quality workers. We were so happy as this was the biggest purchase for our new house. We highly recommend using ACE for your fencing needs in the DMV.

Ace Deck & Fence did an amazing job on the deck. From the first appointment to sketch out the plans, the team was punctual, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about all of the different codes, regulations, and demands of the job. The team was very responsive to any questions or concerns I had, addressing them promptly and professionally. The finished deck looks beautiful and I've received compliments from people who know more than I do about quality construction work. I contacted a few other companies about building a deck, and Ace Deck & Fence was more reasonably priced, better in their communication, and much more specific and thorough in their proposal. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to have a deck or fence built in the DC/MD/VA areas.

Ace did an excellent job. I recieved four estimates and theirs was only slightly more than the lowest, but the lowest bid did not include removal of the old fence ane considerable brush that had to be cut away. Ace's bid was significantly lower than two of the other bids. Ali and his office staff were very professional and helpful. The workers were competent and friendly. Ali even agreed to have his crew place new fence posts in the holes of the posts they were replacing when possible in order to mimimize any damage to the root systems of shrubs and trees. The overall quality of the materials and build of the fence are excellent. I would most certainly contact Ali and Ace Fence and Deck for any further fence work that I need

Good price and good quality product. Fence looks great and they made the permitting and installation process easy. 6 months later, needed a follow-up to fix a gate and they came out after several calls to take care of it. Would definitely recommend.

From quote to installation, Ace was very responsive and accommodating. Additionally, the quality of the fence is awesome and we couldn't be happier. The only recommendation I have to future customers is to plan for your installation as close to early summer as possible, as the schedule is packed from Jun-Aug.

We got three bids and Ace's was the best, The material was delivered the evening before and placed discretely where requested. The crew arrived on time the next morning and completed the task within one day. It was a painless process for the homeowner and the neighbors whose lot adjoins ours appreciated the result. The office staff coordinating the work could not have been more helpful. It was a great experience and result.

We had a wonderful experience working with Ace Deck & Fence to install a new fence and garden shed in our back yard. Can?t say enough great things about Ali and his team! Early in the process Ali came out to see the property and develop an estimate. He had some great ideas for the fence and shed, including building a small semi-enclosed space at the rear of our yard to keep our recycling and trash bins out of the way. Once we agreed on a plan, the folks from Ace took care of all of the permitting with Arlington county and working with Miss Utility. Ali?s team arrived on a Friday morning and had the old fence down and the new fence up in a matter of hours. They started building the custom shed later that afternoon and came back on Saturday morning to finish the shed and make some minor adjustments to the fence gates. The team was fast, skilled, and courteous ? couldn?t ask for more. And the price was more than reasonable. I would highly recommend the team at Ace Fence!

We had an electronic gate put in last year as our (very) old gate had been hit - as in hit and run type with no note left but clear that a large truck or something had backed into it. The gate was so old that parts were no longer available. It occured to my husband that we might be able to have the cost of the gate covered by our insurance and ask Ali to write a letter describing the reason for a new rather than repaired gate, he promptly provided this. Then the company contacted him and ran in through a whole litany of questions which as I understand from Ali took at least 15 minutes or more on the telephone and which Ali assured me he was more than pleased to provide. Each and every time I have contacted Ali on any question he has been friendly very respectful and eager to help. As I noted in a previous review he even remained in contact me during the gate job during a trip he made to visit his grandmother in Poland. Ali is a true gentleman and a pleasure to do business with.

The company was very responsive and was able to schedule a quote within a few weeks. They were very thorough in explaining the process and let me know each necessary step and the cost. It took a while for them to actually come and do the job (the weather interfered and they were tied up on prior projects). When they did schedule the actual installation, the work was done quickly and professionally. I am very pleased with the final product.

Excellent. Company is very responsive, professional, and organized. Angelika responded right away to our inquiry, and scheduled Ali to come out for an estimate soon after we contacted them. Ali is very thorough and knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Their quoted price was the best of all three contractors we interviewed, but we would have gone with them anyway because we were so impressed with their professionalism. Rudy was our crew leader and he was great. There was a bit of confusion over the property line marker which was our fault, but they worked with us and resolved the issue very fairly. Our fence looks great and we are very happy. We plan to work with Ace Deck and Fence again when it's time to install our patio. Highly recommend!

I worked with Ali through out this project. It was nice to have the same point of contact throughout, which has not been my normal experience. I think Ali and his team did a great job. The price was fair, which is not to say it was cheap. Of the 4 price quotes I got Ace was slightly above middle of the road. My only complaint would be timing. Our project drug out much (much) longer than it should have. You could tell it wasn't b/c Ali and his team were lazy, they just seem like they were over tasked. With all of the delays I would work with Ali (ACE) again and recommend them to friends and heres way: They are fair, honest, do good work and to top it all off when something went wrong Ali came back out to make it right (no arguments, I didn't have push him, just will fix it). I'll deal with the delays any day of the week for a guy I can trust and to get the job done right....for a fair price.

This past June we had an old fence, which enclosed our backyard, replaced. Since this was a big project I interviewed and received 3 estimates. All estimates included installing an estimated 300 linear feet of a cedar 6? tall fence. Ace Deck & Fence was the best priced AND most importantly, was the most organized and responsive. Ace Deck was the only company who provided me with a clear, concise, and colored diagram. In addition, Ali was always willing to review and discuss my concerns and options. He was extremely thorough and patient with my questions each time that I called. He left no doubt in my mind that Ace Deck & Fence was the company to entrust with installing our new fence. After the installation, there were a few minor adjustments that needed attention. Ali responded by coming to our property within a day to assess things. The issues were quickly resolved. I will also add that the installation was done efficiently and as scheduled. Ali was continually responsive, upbeat, and very professional. Altogether, we are very happy with our fence and have received compliments from our neighbors and friends with respect to how it looks.

My renovation and addition to my home in Old Town was complete and I needed a reputable company to create a fence worthy of the beautiful addition. My next door neighbor had used Ace for their back yard fence and I decided to include them on my bidding process. three bids: one was Ace. Impressed: the detailed written estimate and attention to detail. Owner, Ali, personally came out to meet me and discuss my needs. He showed me all of the different options and the reason behind the materials he used. Price: ACE was the most competitive of bids among the three; however, I still would have chosen their company if they were a bit higher because of the attention to detail and follow up . The other two companies paled in comparison. I want to work with a company who WANTS my business and has the reputation to back it up. Professionalism: his employees are so hard working, exact and on time. They cleaned up the entire area and respected the area and that of my neighbor's too. Their craftsmanship has resulted in a beautiful fence and it exceeded my expectations. Follow Up: I had requested that Ali's team come back and clean the fence after I noticed some scratches on the PVC. They were there within a day and it had been completed. I also received a follow up email confirming it had been done ( I travel a lot) and to make sure I was happy with everything. I recommended Ace to my neighbor on the other side of my next door neighbor and they hired ACE as well ! so now, all three of us have ACE as our preferred fence provider. I am so happy with my fence!

We enjoyed working with Ali, Angelika, and the whole ACE Team. Everyone was friendly, professional, and hard working. We had some snags with the long DC permitting process, but the work itself was done as quickly as possible and we think the end result is fabulous! We had several estimates for the project and ACE was by far the most professional and prepared to do the project we wanted. It was easy to trust Ali with the project from the moment he came out for the estimate because he has so much experience with each of the things we wanted to do. He had a great sense of how long everything would take, who he would need to bring in, and was able to tell us what to expect with DC permits. He quickly provided us with an incredibly detailed estimate of the scope and cost of work and materials. I was especially impressed with the office manager, Angelika, who was extremely patient and helpful when it came to all of the administrative aspects of the project. She went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everything went smoothly with our neighbors which I truly appreciated. Because ACE is so popular, we had to wait several weeks before Ali was available to come over for an estimate and then it took some time before they could get started. It was definitely worth the wait and we're very happy we chose this company. I highly recommend ACE Deck and Fence!

One of the first major projects in our new house was to install a new fence to secure our pets. We called the big gun in town and were NOT impressed at all with the service or price and their reviews reinforced our opinion. Searching Angie's List we found Ali and Ace Deck & Fence. From the first contact to the last communication everything was done very professionally and in a timely manner. Our project was not without it's hiccups. The manufacturer forgot to make the gates for our project which delayed things a bit. Then we got hit with a spate of rain and freezing temps which delayed it further. All in all the job took a few days longer than expected but Ali and his team kept us posted every step of the way. We are totally thrilled with the outcome of the project. It looks great and we are looking forward to the spring when we can complete the landscaping and host our first BBQ. Wish we had more jobs for them to do. We highly recommend this great company.

We highly recommend Ace and especially the owner, Ali Farzhad. Ali came and gave us an estimate and has been very kind and professional throughout the process. We felt that their price was very fair compared to other estimates received, and we appreciated the scope of work they proposed. (While other contractors said that they would just paint those posts that are embedded in the sides of the terrace, Ali said that Ace would trim sleeves to cover those posts so that they would match the others, and it was this level of detail and willingness to do a complete job that sold us on them.) The job took longer than proposed because of unforeseen problems with the supplier but was completed as soon as possible. We had some communication problems with the person who was here doing the work, but once we talked with Ali, everything was explained and corrected. Ali really went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. And the railing looks terrific. We have already recommended Ace to neighbors.

Fantastic. From day one, when Ali came to see the property, he listened closely to my ideas, asked good questions, and brought true expertise and some really good new ideas to the project. He gave me a range of options using different materials (and price points) and walked me through the pros and cons of each. Because the slope of the property is uneven and the house is on a corner with heavy foot traffic, there were a number of concerns and tradeoffs to be made. I really appreciated Ali's depth of knowledge, professionalism, and creativity -- far surpassing others with whom I spoke about the project.

Working with this company was a complete pleasure. They demonstrated the highest standards of professionalism from the first site visit through the removal of the last scrap of construction material. One of the two owners, Ali, sold and manged the project. During the sales call, he was very clear that he wanted to install what I wanted, versus what he wished to sell. That did not prevent him, however, from making suggestions as to potential additions to the scope that would further enhance the aesthetics/functionality/safety of the fence and deck. Of note is the fact that these suggestions were just that, suggestions. Like the basic work, each suggestion was clearly priced-out in the quote. Additionally, each suggestion was unmistakably segregated as only a potential option. The final composition of the projects was my decision. During the project, Ali kept tabs on the progress by physically coming by, as well as staying in contact with his crews via mobile phone. However, his oversight was strictly pro forma. The two installation crews (one for the fence and another for the deck) worked like well-oiled machines. In short, they performed as if they were performing for a family member versus a client. No detail was too small and NOTHING was "good enough." "Perfection" and "Professionalism" were the words of the day during both installations. At the conclusion of both projects, Ali stopped-by to perform a final inspection and ensure that everything went according to what I had envisioned. The only (extremely small) item that I could even think to mention as possibly being accomplished differently was addressed without my being present and in a manner exceeding my expectations. This company works smart, works clean, is respectful of your property and, most of all, their word is their bond. With several investment properties in the area, they are now a Favorite on my Contact List!!

Ali from Ace was very professional and punctual. My wife and I were pleasantly very surprised at how quickly they started and finished the patio task in one weekend. The old dilapidated fence was demolished and hauled away and the new fencing was installed in one day. The other latticing task we had them do around our existing sunroom and front porch was an additional day. My wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the work that was done. Very professional looking. Most of the planning we did via email and by cell phone and Ali was very prompt. Our new backyard patio is the our family's main gathering place since it was installed. I'd highly recommend them them if anyone is in the market.
