Ace Deck & Fence

Of the four companies interviewed, Ace Deck and Fencing were the most responsive, professional, and I'm glad to say, lowest in price. Their sales rep (Ali Farzad) immediately answered my telephone request for info; the others took days to respond. He was prompt for an appointment and proved extremely knowledgeable of the various products in the market. The other contractors were less than professional, arriving late and provided shoddy, poorly qualified quotes (one over the phone, nothing written; all more expensive than Ace Deck and Fence). Ace Deck and Fence contract process was smooth and professional. Finding the right color proved problematic but the company rep found exactly what we needed and special ordered it at no extra cost. Services on site were started and completed exactly as stated in the contract and the work site was spotless when they left. The craftsmanship of the installation was outstanding. I could not have been happier with their work from start to finish. Ali Farzad deserves special recognition for superior service in customer care, contracting and site work. Very honest and reliable.

We had to call to find out why they were late, but once they arrived they worked from that time to the time they left. They left at night, so we could not see details that needed their further attention until the next day. But when told of our concerns they came back and took care of things to our satisfaction.

We didn't choose this vendor solely because of price. We had a better bid with another top Angie's List company. They were, however, very professional and punctual when coming out for the quote. Ali even sent us an e-mail with pictures of the exact fence we were looking to put in. Had his price been lower we would have chosen them.

The entire process was easy. All of my questions were answered very quickly. The quality of workmanship was very good. Ace has a quality assurance process between a site lead and another supervisor ensures the finished product meets the customer's satisfaction. All of the workers were professional and courteous; they cleaned up the work site. I was very happy with their fencing product.

It went well. Sean Solomon showed up as appointed, explained what they would do, how long it would take, etc. As it turned out, we changed our plans and decided not to put a fence there, but ACE was professional, courteous, and very reasonable in price.

Ace was a great experience start to finish. I had a four estimates done for the work -- one from a well-known, well-reviewed expensive company, one from a middle sized/known/priced company, one from an Angie's List competitor of Ace's and one from Ace. The Ace proposal was very similar to the proposal from the larger, more expensive companies, but at a much better price. Setting up the estimate, adjusting the proposal and getting the work started was very easy through Sean. The crews for the two tasks generally came out on time and got the work done. There was one issue with getting the porch finished, and the person on the crew offered to come by on a Sunday to get it finished. Overall, the Ace folks were all courteous and (amazingly in our experience) very tidy! Possibly the smoothest project we've had -- and we've had a few in the last few years.

They came out when they said they would. The job turned out to be a little more than they estimated. The deck was actually attached to the fence, and they had to pour additional concrete and a beam to bolt the deck to it. We would hire them again. We have recommended them to our neighbor.

It took a little longer and cost a little more than estimated; on the other hand, the quality is high, and they worked in the rain to get the last part of the project done.

This was an easy home improvement from start to finish. Sean Solomon was our sales associate. He kept in contact on a regular basis to make sure everything was moving along and if we had any questions. He took the time to educate me on the items in the proposal. They were very patient while we waited for HOA approval (nearly 5 weeks) and did not try to increase the price. The job started a day late, however they called me to make sure it was OK. John and Eddie were the two guys that were on site. They both were very nice and detail oriented. They made sure that the fence looked perfect. Before they started they asked me several questions about my preference, they didn't assume, which prevented any problems. The fence went up very quickly, about a day and a half. They custom built it on site. I would recommend this company again.

I left messages on October 8th and 14th. No response at all. I don't understand how a company that conducts business like this can be rated so highly.

They did a great job at a reasonable price. The gentlemen that installed the fence weren't able to install the lock and we had to wait for another guy to come out to install the lock.

I am very happy with Ace. Call them and ask for Ali.

I ran into Ali in my alley one day as he was preparing a quote for someone else. I explained to him what I wanted to do, and I could tell straight away that he wasn't the typical salesperson, all fluff and no fact. He volunteered technical information and explained how everything would be done and had no problem answering my even more random questions that only someone who has actually done what they are selling would know. Additionally, he actually did all the the tear down work himself. When the structure for the staircase was built, it was built wrong due to a miscommunication along the line, as such things sometimes happen. Without any finger pointing or any argument at all, they ripped out the part that was wrong did it a second time. All in all, a very good experience.

The head foreman came with the salesman on the estimate. We found another company that was cheaper and ACE met their price. We had no problems and they worked hard to make sure we were happy.

The sales person was quick to respond to my request for a quotation, met me on site, explained how their company operates, measured the length of fence and told me that I would receive an e-mailed quotation within 48 hours. Indeed I received the quote on the second day. The quotation was about 50% more than a competitive quote. However, after reading the Angie's List reports, I decided that Ace would provide a better installation without concern that a problem with the quality/workmanship would arise. In my case, the peace of mind was worth the added cost. The job was promptly scheduled, and the installation crew arrived on the scheduled date. They worked very diligently through the day and into the early evening. The job was completed the following day with the installation of the final gate hardware. I was on site throughout the entire process, and monitored the work as it progressed. Questions arose regarding the side of the fence onto which I wanted the wire mesh attached, and the desired hinging of the four gates. Had I not been directly involved, this may have created a problem. In the end, the installation was excellent. I was very pleased with the work. Without question, I would hire this company for fence work again. As hard as it is to do, I believe that the outstanding job performance resulted from not taking the low bid. I'll never know.

Very well. The work was done quickly - just 3 days. On the first day a crew came out to take down and remove the old fence. By the end of the day an entirely new fence was built around the entire backyard with a double gate. The second day a different crew came out to finish off the fence details and begin prepping the yard for a new deck. The third day the new platform deck was built. Overall the project went very well with a few small problems: 1. The crew was not very good at cleaning up and left some debris in a neighbor's yard - this was taken care of the following day after the neighbor called ACE to complain. 2. The crew on the third day left some equipment in the yard that wasn't picked up for 2 days following the construction. 3. The deck has a few planks that were laid with the ink stamped label facing up which isn't very pretty. 4. The crew left a lot of dirt after they were done - they didn't clean up completely after finishing the job. But the construction of both the fence and deck are great.

They did a great job. They came in about 30% lower than other companies we checked into.

We received 3 different estimates from companies we selected from Angie's list. This company was right in the middle - however we were impressed by their professionalism. They were punctual and had good suggestions on how to handle the front gate. We wanted a double wide door so they installed pipes into the ground for the drop down latch to secure the doors. We were very satisfied with the work ethic of the team that arrived - they hardly stopped working the entire time they were here and finished within 2 days as promised.

I spoke with three companies regarding repairs and sealing of my pressure treated fence surrounding my home. I found the sales rep., Sean, from Ace Decks by the far the most knowledgeable and professional. He was one of the easiest and most responsible salespeople to work with on a project. The work on my fence was completed on time and looks GREAT. The person who actually did the work was at my house all day and was very detail oriented.

The most impressive thing about the entire experience was the incredibly hard working crew. The estimate was scheduled promptly. They told it would be a few weeks and were able to move our install date up. The crew was there early in the morning and left at sunset. They barely breaked. The demolished an old fence and installed the new one in 2 days. They came out to check on our satisfaction and replaced a broken post cap. Excellent. It is rare to see crews working so hard. At one point I think there were 7 guys in my yard. Work was done in 2 days. I was so impressed I had them back out to stain the fence. Highly recommended!!!! (We couldn't even get some vendors to give us an estimate). They did find an old brick wall deeper than expected so with my permission they added $150 to cost for jackhammer usage. This was totally reasonable. One vendor told me he could not do the work if jackhammer needed (and quote was 2k more).

They gave an initial estimate with an Angie's List discount and worked closely with me and my neighbor to refine the estimate. The representative was very easy to understand and work with. They started work within a week or two of acceptance. They completed the work in several days and were very good about modifications as the job progressed (for example the fence would not fit under a tree and had to be sloped). The quality of work was excellent given the low cost. I had no complaints.

I called them twice and sent an email but never heard back from them.

Ace did a great job. They also accommodated our neighbor's request to remove a portion of her old fence and replace it with a new gate. They also accommodated a last minute addition to our job -- a shorter back fence between our house and our neighbor's. They were readily available and answered questions and concerns we had about aspects of the project. They accomplished all the jobs we requested in the contract, but we did have to remind them several times to cut the stumps of the trees that were growing through the old chain link fence. They also did a thorough job cleaning up after the job. All in all, we were very pleased with the quality of the materials, the craftsmanship and the price.

We had a great experience from start to finish. The project manager came out the same day I contacted them and met me at our house within a few hours. He sent us an estimate and worked with us to meet our budget while still getting the look and functionality that we really wanted. Once we all agreed on the work to be done and signed the contract, the crew came out and finished the job in a few days. They even worked late on the final day after dark so they could finish up. Throughout the project, the project manager made sure to let us know how everything was going, what and when to expect things, and verified how to handle situations so he didn't just assume what we wanted. We would definitely recommend Ace Decks to anyone and would hire them again without hesitation.

I called and Ali came promptly when he said he would be there. Scheduled the work around my schedule. Arrived promptly and put up a great fence (we're getting our first puppy) in about 5 hours with one other worker. Ali was as pleasant as could be and very professional. They worked for about 3 hours in the rain and never complained about it. I would highly recommend this company for fences, decks, patios and any other services they provide. I also received a 15% discount because I found them on Angie's List.
