Ace Deck & Fence

My initial e-mail request for a proposal was submitted. a respones followed. a second inquiry was submitted. no reponse. this was followed by a third inquiry. your final respones declined the job.

I desperately needed a deck at a rear entrance of my house, which at the time had some very old, unsafe steps. I also needed a ramp for my mother to safely enter and exit the house. I called Ace and the estimator, Sean came out within a few days. He suggested that I build a deck/ramp combination at this rear entrance. I also had some drainage issues in the yard, and he made a few landscaping suggestions for that as well. Based on the size of the deck and ramp I needed, Sean measured and gave me a rough estimate on the spot. I accepted the bid and within a week or so the Ace crew started the job. The job included the following: building 10 x10 deck with a ramp, leveling soil around the house and under the deck to improve drainage, putting in a bed of large stones underneath the deck, attaching additional drainage hoses to the rear gutters, and building a 3 x 4 brick landing at the basement entrance.

Sean was very professional and had a down to earth personality that made everything go smoothly. After the job was done, I asked for an adjustment to the fencing and Sean was very responsive and took care of it immediately.

My new dog found all the problems with my old chain link fence, so I needed a replacement on at least 2 sides. I called 3 companies for quotes, and found Ace to be the most prompt and professional. Ali (the sales person) was very flexible about scheduling a time to do the estimate, was very nice, polite and offered suggestions on how to reposition the gates in a better way. Ace came in as the middle price, but I was very impressed with their professionalism, good references, and BBB rating. Even though Ace was not the cheapest, I felt that they were worth it - and I was right. The crew came on a Sunday, which was very convenient for me - and they were great, hard-working guys. They were very careful and barely took a break for lunch. My dad and I were trimming bushes and clearing out brush already that day, so we actually ended up making a much bigger mess than the Ace crew did! Ali came later in the day and put in some time on the job himself to help the guys finish up. He was very careful to review the work with the crew, and made sure that everything was done correctly. At the end of the day, my yard was totally put back together and no wires or debris were left. It was a very long day for them, but I cannot say enough about how nice, polite, and hard-working these guys were. There is no question that I would hire Ace again and I've already recommended them to others. Maybe they weren't the cheapest, but they really proved you get what you pay for. And, thanks to Ace, you can see that my dog is enjoying her fenced-in yard quite a bit.

Contacted company for their estimate. They responded with 24 hours; came to my home and inspected within another 24 hours and emailed me their estimate the next day. Ace's estimate was cheaper than another company and I selected Ace because of their lower estimate and because of the good reviews in Angie's List. The start date of Saturday, July 11 was selected. The crew delivered the wood on July 9 and the start date was moved up to Friday, July 10. The crew arrived at 6:45 am to start work. There was a hiccup. I had neglected to get a permit for this job and my town police came and stopped the work. Ace contacted me immediately. After discussions, Ace met with me, got my proxy to represent me at the Permit Office and took care of all the permit business and mounted the permit on my front door on Monday. Work resumed on Tuesday, July 14 at 8 am. I arrived home at 5 pm to inspect the completed work. My fence was just as I had specified, my backyard was clean and clear of debris. Also, my neighbor came to me and remarked that the work was done fast and quietly and asked for Ace's business information.

The back fence needed to be fully replaced along with a small portion of my neighbor's - originally we had a tree between our yards and since we removed that, we were left with an incomplete fence and gap. We also have a small apartment parking lot behind our home and we asked about a barrier of some sort to ensure that no one backed their vehicle into our new fence and our request was nothing new for this company. ACE added a nice "guardrail" in front of the fence so no damage could be done to our property. Our rep was prompt in returning our calls, emails and requests. Even though ACE did not carry the fence that my neighbor had, they installed a self-purchased one to help us complete the job. It was all very good work!

Ace came recommended to us from a friend who had a beautiful deck and fence built by them. Despite constant rain and a back log of jobs- the work was completed early! Our fence and deck both look great.

I have never been more pleased with a contractor. We had Jay as our salesman and he was great. He called me immediately to schedule an appointment for an estimate and was honest about what type of fence he thought I needed (which was different than what I thought I wanted.) He had a written quote to me within hours of his visit. Because of questions and changes I wanted to make he ended up sending me three different quotes all on the same day he visited. We agreed on one that worked for us. I signed the contract that day and he immediately scheduled a date for the work to be completed within one week of my signing the paperwork. The workmen who came were professional, courteous and skilled. There was some miscommunication about some work to be done and the head workman immediately called the main office to confer. I left a message for our salesman, Jay, who immediately called me back, talked to the main office, and resolved the issue in my favor within about 10 minutes. I am extremely please with how this was handled and I think the new fence and door look great. Without a doubt I would not only use this company again, but I have already recommended them to our neighbor. You will not be disappointed.

Shawn is the employee we met with. He was very professional from the time he initially came to our home. He quickly gave us an estimate. The workers were here the day he said they would be. They were able to finish the job all in one day and they cleaned up well after themselves. The fence looks great!

I was impressed with Ali, but we chose another company who is also top rated and whose bid came in considerably lower. I will definitely call Ace again next time to bid on another job.

I called for an estimate to finish off our fence in the backyard. I admit, it's a small job for a larger company, but a job none-the-less. Three days after calling and describing the job, I finally received a phone call from the estimator. He could only come at 11 am on Saturday and unfortunately we were not going to be home. He told me he'd call back on Sunday to "see if he could fit us in". It's Wednesday and I haven't heard from him. In this economy, you would think companies would be anxious to be hired. I guess not this company.

They were great. The fence is fantastic the price good and the gate excellent. They started one day later than they said they would, but it didn't matter to me.

Ali Farzad responded to my initial inquiry within 24 hours. He came out and provided an estimate within a week. I had received a lower estimate from another company, and Ali met the lower price. My HOA specified a certain type of fencing which Ali's suppliers were no longer using, but after a few days he was able to find the type of posts we needed. The crew arrived on time and began working right away. While they were working we asked if we could make a change to our original plan and expand the fenced area even more. When Ali arrived at our home, he and the foreman determined that they would have enough fencing to make the change we requested. They just needed some additional concrete to set the posts, and that was delivered a short time later. The crew worked continuously for the entire day, even through a few periods of rain. The fence looked great after they left, but a few days later, something happened with one of the gates and it would not close properly. It had been raining for days before and after the work was done, so that may have affected the wood. I contacted Ali, and he sent a crew out to repair it. I selected this company based on the reviews I had read in Angie's list, and they live up to their reputation of excellence. Ali was professional, polite, and responsive. The foreman and crew were as well. This was a wonderful experience.

Ace was great. Sean answered all of my many questions. The crew work hard and quickly. It took about 2 1/2 days, just as promised. The fence looks beautiful. Thank you for your fanatastic work!

I received a proposal for the work the same day that the job was assessed. Work was begun, as promised, within one week (actually less) from the date I signed the contract authorizing the work. I am very pleased with the end result -- the gates are sturdy and look very nice, have sturdy hardware that allow for them to be locked from inside the fence. The appearance of the gated section is important because this section of the fence can be seen from the street. The contractors did a good job of cleaning up and were very pleasant and professional throughout the project.

Very smoothly! We love the look and size of our deck. It is simple but classy, and the black metal balusters were worth the extra expense. The view from our family room is not obscured by heavier, lighter colored wood or composite balusters. The deck looks beautiful, and is very structurally solid. The county inspector said it was a great job, too! Approximately a year later, we noticed that the top railing on one side seemed slightly warped and had separated slightly from the corner post. The contractor was very quick to respond and replaced the railing in a timely manner.

I called Ace and told them I wanted a fence to close off my backyard/parking pad in the city, since it was only open in the back (each of my neighbors has a fence). I also told them that I had had an attempted break-in, so my priority was speed of installation. A very nice, professional representative came out that day and gave me estimates for a variety of options on the spot, after spending time measuring the opening and figuring out with me how I could still park two cars there. Although Ace's cost was as high as another well-known company that is considered expensive, Ace was able to complete the work within three days and that other company told me it would take 2-3 weeks. The gate/fence is impressive, much sturdier than other chain link fences in my neighborhood and Ace's representative kept me informed on timing, when their installers would be at my house and exactly what they would be doing each day and sent someone back twice to install the correct length drop rod. Excellent customer service and timeliness!

I am very happy and satisfied with my entire experience working with Ace Deck and Fence. After my initial call into Ace requesting an estimate, I received a call back in less than 24 hours from Ali who contacted me to setup the appointment for the estimate. Ali was very punctual and professional. He gave me two estimates: 1) to finish the fence using existing style and 2) to take out existing fence and put in shadow-box fence required by HOA. The estimates were comparable to other estimates I received. I decided to use Ace because of Ali's professionalism and he was very responsive to my questions and quickly returned phone calls/emails. I was lucky in that Ali was able to send a crew out to my home very quickly. The crew was very punctual arriving on time the morning of service. They also were very professional and asked me a few questions, like what side of the fence I wanted the gate, etc. Ali even stopped by the worksite. The crew finished the fence in 1 day. I would definitely recommend Ace for fence work and will use them again in the future. The fence looks great and I appreciate the additional privacy. Also, my dog now has a fenced in area to play!

Responsiveness and communication from estimate to completion was excellent. Personal attention and responsiveness to our needs was outstanding.

Very easy to do business with. Prompt and efficient. Hit them on email, received a phone call a couple of days later. They came out that day and provided an estimate which was well below 2 other estimates.

Sean Solomon was our sales rep, and he was very responsive, both via email and phone. There was a crew of 4, and the work was done in 2 days. No mess at all on my end to clean up.

I called for an estimate and had Sean Solomon come over within days. He was courteous and gave me an estimate over the weekend. I asked him to match one of the competitors price and he did. The work was scheduled with one week. The first day that they arrived the work could not begin as scheduled because the material was not delived until the afternoon. So the work took two days versus the expected one (we did not mind). Here is what I wish had been different. First, the 4 feet part of the fence towards our home has several pieces of wood with the manufacturer's name stamped. I wish that had been turned the other way. Second, we had contracted for the 4 feet fence part of the fence to be longer than the 6 feet part. The installer took the liberty to change the length to align with the house (which is not what we wanted). He explained it to me after having began the work. I wish that I had had him change it--but I doubted myself, so I take partial reponsibility for fixing the problem. In the futurre the installers should ASK instead of assuming that their orders are wrong. The work ended when it was getting dark, so I did not inspected it for days. Solomon called the night of the installation to ask is I was pleased (but again, I did not get to inspect the work until weeks later). Solomon provided great service and had I been more involved in the installation I would probably be much happier now.

They were very professional. They were on-time to provide the estimate (Sean Solomon). They provided a fair estimate and turned it around quickly. They arrived at the job site on time, and worked until it was done. When a small problem arose with one of the latches, they sent someone back promptly to fix it. All in all, I had very positive experience. I would consider hiring them again for a deck or other related work.

Look at the two photos. The first one is of the old fence and the second one is of the new fence. Randall Bell called Ace Fence & Deck to get an estimate to remove and put up a new fence. Sean Solomon (Ace Fence & Deck) drops by, takes notes and measurements. Sean sends an estimate to Randall. Randall sends a request to the HOA to get their approval to have his old fence removed and a new fence installed. He got the HOA?s approval and told Ace to begin the process. Sean sends a contact. Randall signed it and sends it back with a check to cover half of the cost. A week later, a group of workers from Ace started work. They torn down and removed the old fence. They put up an excellent fence; there are non gaps and it looks solid and great. I am very happy with their work. They took two days to finish the work.
