Ace Deck & Fence

We wanted our existing deck replaced with Timbertech. Ali was great from the beginning, had great ideas for color choices and the masonry work. Our deck is an odd shape - approx. 600 sq feet, curved on one side. It looks awesome, the cuts are amazing. Very happy with the craftsmanship. Would definitely hire again!

It's easy to talk about my experience with Ace Deck & Fence because it was truly excellent from start to finish. Angelika provided prompt and helpful responses to our inquiries even before we had hired Ace. Hernan provided a thorough estimate, promptly responded to our email questions, and he even met with me again to go over the estimate in person. The team that removed our current deck and built the new one was efficient, courteous, and professional. Each and every day they cleaned up the site... in fact, some days the only way I knew for sure they had even been there was because the deck was more fully built than it had been that same morning! Unfortunately, these days it is often very hard to find a company that is responsive, affordable, customer-centered, professional, and quality in their service delivery. Ace is ALL of these qualities and more. I have never written a review on Angie's List before (though I am a frequent user of the site) but I felt compelled to share the five-star experience I had with Ace. I give the highest of accolades and a glowing recommendation for working with them!

They installed the fence quickly, but it was still well done.

They did an excellent job with everything. The gate took longer than I wanted, but the end result was a well-built, solid and good-looking gate! Ali was and has been very responsive. I enjoyed working with him and Ace. I would hire them again!

To date I have not received a reply of any kind. If they could not do the job or did not want to, a courtesy reply indicating such is not an unreasonable expectation.

Everything was done quickly and well.

It was fine. The quality was good. They were about 20 minutes late. They did clean up behind themselves. They were courteous and friendly with me, if I had any questions.

The work the Ace team did was outstanding in all respects. Their attention to detail in the planning stage created a very attractive, solid and sturdy fence, and the brickwork, which was a difficult job, came out fantastic. The team was very professional, and answered all my questions accurately. I would hire Ace again with no hesitation.

The work was done professionally and as I expected. Ali, the owner who provided the contract was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I would use this firm again...and again.

Ali was great. He gave a very detailed estimate, and walked us through the process. The install crew arrived when they said, they cleaned up afterwards, and even fixed a board that was not on the list without me asking. They are true professionals and I would absolutely call them in the future. Ali will take care of you.

At the time, they were pleasant to work with, patient, seemed thorough, and the fence and driveway looked great. However, now, less than two years later, I am so disappointed. The main support posts of the fence have warped badly in the heat of the sun. I found out from one of the guys they finally sent to check it out and repair it (after much delaying; turns out when you have a one-year warranty they don't care about their clients anymore) that the wood was not UV treated. Since the posts are sunk so deeply into concrete, they are nearly impossible to replace or repair. So I am stuck with a twisted fence that I will now probably need to replace, at much expense. What a ripoff! DO NOT USE. I recommend anyone considering a new wood fence make sure that the wood is UV treated, and that the warranty for the work is good for more than one year. I expected this fence to last a lot longer, but Ace does not seem to care about quality workmanship or ensuring that their customers get value for the money.

Ace was amazing. They came in and gave us an estimate, and also talked about other things we could do now or the future. It wasn't pushy, it was just good to know. We went ahead with them as they gave us a good estimate. They admitted with the rain they would not be able to start for a few weeks, they gave us a timeframe for when the work would start, and kept us up to date as they got the supplies in. The work was done fast. They cleaned up after they finished really nice. And we love the results!

We were very pleased. In particular, the designer was able to match our artistic and unusual railing on our back deck for the fence in the back which was a very happy surprise we didn't even know would be possible. Having the designer visit and then give us a proposal was a big benefit. We appreciated how he gave us several different options so we could select what would work best for us. The work was excellent on both railings which are both solid and attractive.

They were terrific. They got the permit, communicated well when they were preparing to start work and did an excellent job. The entire fence was done in one day by courteous, capable men. The price was reasonable. I requested one minor additional piece of work which they did immediately for no charge.

Fabulous result. Project was for a small English style patio. Placement was a challenge because of slope and plantings. The result is a lovely black iron fence and balanced gate. Price was fair (not inexpensive). Owner and staff very good to deal with.

Ali (the owner) made the process as easy as possible, was professional and always made himself available for questions even as we went back and forth on styles. The work was done on time even in the busy summer season. This was our second project with Ali and we were just as pleased as the last time. We very highly recommend Ace Deck and Fence.

Ace was awesome. Responsive, efficient, not expensive, excellent quality, great attention to detail. I have worked with many vendors and contractors on many different projects in homes that I have owned, and these guys are among the best I have ever worked with. The original fence was built by Long, and within months, the gate sagged and I needed to get the lock replaced regularly. With the new fence, ACE explained why that happened, and also explained how they built the fence and align the gate with beams to ensure that doesn't happen. When I finally decided to replace the original fence, I got estimates from four companies, but not one of them was willing to secure the DC permit needed for work in the historic district. They would either do it illegally or insisted that I pull the permit. ACE indicated that they secure all the permits, and indeed, did so very efficiently and quickly. Their price was no more expensive than the others. Couldn't recommend them more highly.

Very well. Ali was very responsive and patient with our decision changes for style of fence. He was prompt with estimates and revised estimates as needed. He offered valuable information to help us decide. He is very professional and honest. The installation went smoothly and the crew was quick and cleaned up nicely. They removed 3 different fences in neighboring yards, as well as trimmed bushes as necessary for the new fence installation. We highly recommend Ace Deck & Fence.

Great! Ali (one of the owners) came out only a few days after I contacted the company to look at our old deck and discuss what we were looking for. Then within a day or two he forwarded drawn plans with several pricing options. We hit some snags on our end getting the appropriate survey plot for the Alexandria permits, so that stalled worked a bit. Then rain in May and June really set ACE back several weeks but their crew was there whenever they could and did a great job. The deck looks fantastic and even a little bit bigger! I was not in touch with Ali during the work, but the ACE Office Manager (Angelika) was very professional and responsive. She got back to me usually within a day or so if I had questions. Overall, we are very pleased with our deck and would definitely recommend this company.

Provider was quick to schedule a free estimate. Consultation with Ali Farzad, was thorough and layout options were discussed. He was prompt with his emails, and professional. After we signed the contract, he kept us updated with the progress of the project (custom made driveway gates, plus reinforcement steel frame). The weather did not cooperate. However, the company tried its best to accommodate all their projects during an extremely rainy May. They made special accommodations for us and sent 2 installers. They worked diligently, even after a downpour by the end of the project. After a 10 hour work day on a Saturday (they waited for the rain to stop), the installation was done. Ali came at a later date, to install the steel frame on the driveway gates.

Ali Farzad from Ace is amazing to work with. We first worked with him last year when we bought our house and needed our fence installed. They did such an amazing job with our fence that we had no doubt we would use him again for our patio. Ali and his team are so meticulous and professional in the way they do their work. They take no shortcuts and are always deliver on their promise of time, cost, and quality. It took them less than 3 days to get our patio done and we couldn't be happier. Ali and the Ace team are part of our family and we consider ourselves long term customers after both of our experiences.
