Ace Deck & Fence

I am a very happy and satisfied customer and new fan of Ali Farzad and his company! I contacted and interviewed five companies to get estimates for my deck project. By far, Ali's presentation, proposal and follow-up was the best. Ali did not come to my house, spend 15 minutes, write out an estimate and then leave. Instead, he told me he would contact his supplier and provide me with the exact cost of the materials. Ali then gave me a detailed proposal and a precise diagram of the deck area to be replaced. No other contractor came close to this effort in detail. Ali has hired workers who know exactly what they are doing, waste no time during the job and are very precise in what they do. The job site was left orderly and clean after each day's work. The original project was to replace a 20 year old ground level wood deck with Timbertech XLM and build a step leading down to the back yard with the same material. Adjacent to the deck was a metal railing that was previously enclosed with wood. That wood was also to be replaced with Timertech XLM. During the removal of the railing enclosure, the brick retaining wall that supported the metal railing was found to be seriously cracked and in need of repair. I was grateful that Ali found and reported this situation to me instead of ignoring it. As a result, one project became two. Thanks to Ali, he was able to find an excellent company to do the brick work since that project needed to be completed before the deck boards could be installed. The actual construction (demolition, brick work, framing and deck work) took three work days but was spread over a two week period due to an unusual amount of rain in September. Ali kept me posted throughout that period and did his best to coordinate his schedule to complete my project as soon as possible. The project went very well, especially since we had to deal with the brick wall surprise and the rain delays. I was genuinely impressed with the professionalism and thoroughness that Ali displayed from the time of the initial estimate to the completion of the project. I highly recommend this company. They are experienced, versatile and take pride in what they do. I love the finished product and look forward to the next project with Ali's company.

Our entire experience with Ace Deck & Fence was excellent, from the initial visit and subsequent communications with Ali to the actual construction day with Rudy and his team member. Everyone was very professional, responsive, and helpful. Ali was the only fence contractor (out of three highly rated contractors from Angie’s List) who provided a detailed fence diagram from the get-go for our HOA application, and even though it took some time to receive HOA approval for the fence, he stayed in communication throughout the entire process and worked to get us on the schedule as soon as the approval came through. On the day of installation, Rudy ensured that the fence was installed just where we wanted and that the boards were spaced just as the HOA required. Rudy and crew member worked very hard and efficiently -- they clearly have years of experience doing this work. We’re very impressed with Ace Deck & Fence and would definitely recommend the company to others. We couldn’t be happier with our new fence.

Called for an estimate for fencing. Left a voicemail and never received a return call in over a week. Not very professional so I will pass on this contractor.

Estimater (Ali) was punctual for the in-person visit as well as on follow-up communications. He emailed me a pdf of my estimate broken out as requested (per fence segment, for different types of fences). Fence build was done quickly (within one week of me signing contract) and completed in a day. Builder did a great job and cleaned up after the crew. The new fence is nice!

We had Ace build a deck from scratch for us. Ali was extremely responsive and helpful. We had drawings and an estimate with a day or two after our initial meeting and Ali was lightning fast responding to emails and questions. Ace handled all the permitting and inspections and we didn't have to do a thing. The deck builders really worked hard and we feel we got an amazing deck for the money we spent. We've been rennovating our kitchen area for over a year and the new deck was the final step to complete the project. Ace gave us the best service out of all the contractors we used for the last year and a half. They also met the deadline we set for them. We were very impressed with Ace Deck and Fence and would recomend them to others.

I couldn’t co-ordinate with them before I got another guy who just came out and gave me a better bid. Therefore I didn’t go with them but the interactions with them were all positive. Their bid was pretty competitive. I wasn’t there when they came out. My husband dealt with them. Everything went well and smooth. We have no complaints. They called back promptly. They came out when they said they would and they did a good job. I would use their services again in the future.

I requested three bids from companies I identified from Angie's List. Ali called me back almost immediately and told me that he had some leftover chain link fencing and posts that he'd love to be able to use up on my job. He said he'd stop by that morning to look at the job and would send me a bid by email. I nearly fell out of my chair when I got his bid that afternoon - he only quoted me labor since he already had the materials on hand. The other two bids I received started at $1000, so there was no question I'd be working with him given the price, his responsiveness, and the prior reviews he received on Angie's LIst. He and his helper arrived on time, hand dug around plants/sprinkler lines, and did a great job on the post and fence installation. He even hauled off the old fence section and posts for me. I am a VERY picky customer, and I cannot give a higher compliment to Ali for his work. He put a sign on my fence section, and a neighbor knew how pleased I was with the work and took his number from the sign to have some work done, too. She was equally pleased with the quality of work and the price. I will note one caution. There is another company in the area called Ace Deck and Fence. Their company opened as a pop-up when I was trying to get contact info from Angie's List on Ace Deck and Fence, LLC. It was really confusing, so I ended up getting a bid from them, too. They were very responsive, sent me a bid right away, but were much higher priced than Ali.

The estimator came out the next day, measured, took photos and sent me a very professional detailed estimate of the work via email. Their bid was in the middle of the 3 bids I received and I went with the cheaper estimate for the actual fence. I am very sorry that I used the other company because they did not show up on the scheduled date and the workers were messy. Ace should have been my first choice and their bid was only a couple of hundred dollars less than the other company. They may have matched the price if I had asked, but I just went with the lowest bid.

Keith showed up promptly to measure and discuss the project. His estimate arrived promptly in the mail and was clear, with options each clearly outlined. His estimate was slightly lower than the other one we got, but in the same range. He was able to schedule the work within two weeks of when I called to ask him to do the job. There was a slight glitch with the materials order, but he sorted it out right away and it did not cause any delay to the job. The work was done very efficiently and professionally and we're very happy with the outcome. We'll definitely give A&L first shot at our next home improvement job.

They had to order the door so it took a while for that but when it came they were reasonably quick. They ran into some trouble because the electrician they brought didn't know how to connect the control box. It was Memorial Day weekend and they couldn't do anything about it until the Tuesday after the weekend. After a while they got it right. They had some problems with the construction because they didn't align things properly and they had to find a workaround to get the alignment. It wasn't terrible and there wasn't anything really big. They didn’t announce they were coming; they just came but there was no designated time they had to meet.

We dealt with Nick who was professional and polite. Bad weather caused a long delay. When they began work, they paid attention to detail and cleaned up when they were finished.

I contacted 8 contractors to provide estimates to build our Deck & Fence. Of all the contractors, Ali's (co-owner of Ace Deck & Fence LLC) presentation was the by far the BEST and the most responsive. Ali was very friendly and professional too which made it easy to work with him. His attention to detail in the diagrams he provided me based on my specifications was right on point which helped me obtain the necessary approval I needed from the HOA. I was very impressed. He also provided me with several deck options to choose from and provided me with a sufficient details of his estimate so I could clearly see what services I would be receiving and it also allowed me to make a fair comparison to the other estimates I received. The work Luis and the other guy did on the deck and fence is amazing! They were very prompt in starting the work each day. I had no issues with them. They are very hard workers especially given the heat conditions on some days. The deck and fence matches the blueprints Ali sent me and the light kit that Ali suggested adds a very nice feature and ambiance to the deck. The time it took them to complete both projects were very reasonable. I didn't experience any delays or issues with Ace Deck & Fence LLC. My total experience with working with Ace Deck & Fence definitely exceeded my expectations. I'm extremely happy with the service. I have already started to receive a lot of compliments from my neighbors. I would definitely work with Ace Deck & Fence again in the future.

This was one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor in over twenty years living in Northern Virginia. Estimate was right on. Although scheduled date was delayed due to me, Ace followed through almost immediately after my schedule cleared. Workers were prompt, efficient, and professional. Great quality materials and workmanship. I would definately use this company again.

Ali (co-owner of the company) was extremely responsive from the beginning and came out to our house to assess the projects, give us an estimate, and provide advice on how to solve certain problems. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He responded to phone calls and email very quickly. Although the deck project got off to a late start because of bad weather, Luis came out on a Saturday and essentially built the deck and stairs in a day. The deck turned out beautifully, and it looks very solidly constructed. The crew also cleaned up the space nicely. (They kindly agreed to haul away an old broken picnic table and benches in our yard for no additional charge.) The gate project was also delayed because the gate opener had to be back-ordered, but again, Ali and his crew came out on a Saturday and completed the project in about a day. When I asked Ali about installing a key pad as an alternative means of entry, he immediately ordered it and had it installed within a few days. Also, when our gate brackets were damaged by our lawn serviceman, Ali installed stronger brackets and added small locks to the pins to make the gate more secure. The gate opener system (made by Mighty Mule) works great, and we are very happy with it. The picket fence also turned out great and was completed very quickly. Overall, we would highly recommend Ace Deck & Fence. Everyone was very professional and easy to work with, and we are very pleased with the results. The price was reasonable for the quality of work, and we will definitely use Ace Deck & Fence again for any future deck or fence projects.

The experience was excellent. My job involved repairing and adding to a very intricate existing fence. When The Ace team was done it was amazing, the entire fence, lattice work and gates all match exactly and look like they were built at the same time. Ali could not have been more helpful or responsive, including adding to the scope of the job and changing several things as my wife and I went through the process. I interviewed several people and Ali was hands down the best, and his service did not disappoint.

Everything went great from the first phone call to the actual work. I worked with Ali (co-owner) for the entire process. After my first phone call, Ali made an appt to come see the job. He arrived right on schedule. Ali listened to my plans as I explained that I plan to replace the entire fence next spring in tandem with a larger project that would place a pool house as well but that I need the fence repaired now to ensure that the required security exists around the area that includes a swimming pool. Ali provided a written proposal a few days later as promised. I accepted his proposal which included the Angie's list discount. The work as completed in a timely manner and Ali keep me updated on schedules via email. The day before the scheduled repair, Ali notified me via email that he would work on my job personally because the assigned lead was delayed on a previous job due to torrential rains in the area. Ali didn't want to delay my job at the last minute. Ali and his co-worker arrived at 7:30am as scheduled. The work was done efficiently and the work area was left neat and clean. In summary, I was completely pleased with the work performed and the knowledge and professionalism of Ali was excellent. I definitely plan to hire Ace Deck and Fence for my complete fence replacement project next spring!

The job went extremely well. The work was done within a week of the estimate being provided. The crew did an excellent job and we could not even tell they had been there when the job was done, since they did such a great job of cleaning up after themselves. Ali kept in touch with us throughout, keeping us informed. He is extremely professional and pleasant. The balcony looks brand new and we are very pleased with it. I highly recommend Ace Deck and Fence LLC - we have now had 3 very positive experiences with this contractor (reports have been submitted for the other 2 jobs).

Ali, a part owner and estimator for Ace Deck and Fence, was prompt and professional throughout all phases of my small project. His team arrived on time and finished in half a day. They built a replacement fence including a gate that is very well built and exactly what I wanted. The fence was 7 ft. high, constructed of cedar, and included a double sided gate. There were a couple of cosmetic things I wanted changed and Ali came the next week and did the work himself. I am planning on having deck work in the future andwill call Ace Deck and Fence first.

I work all day, so finding a time to meet someone for a cost estimate can be difficult. Ali from Ace drove by my house, looked at my gate and fence that had fallen down, developed a cost estimate, and then met with me near my office to go over the estimate and show me pictures of there work. Talk about service! I was deciding between Ace and Long's fence. Since my fence and gate were actually broken, laying on the ground, speed of service was important to me. Ace could get the work done within 1 week, and Long's had a 3 week wait. The quality appeared similar from the photos, and the prices were comparable, although Ace's priced in a little lower. Also, Ali pointed out something others had not - a replacement wood gate would eventually sag, like my old one did and would have a shorter life span. Given the amount one uses a gate, moving the car in and out, he recommended a metal reinforced gate on metal posts. This also gave me the option (in the future) to add a gate opener. After he mentioned this idea, I ran it by Long's and they concurred that it would be an excellent way to go. We did and the metal reinforced gate swings beatifully and effortlessly. As a small company, ACE's owners were part of the whole fence/gate installation process and have made sure all details of the projct were well attended to. I would strongly recommend ACE.

The interaction was good but we didn't go with them because we decided to go with the lowest bid. They were good but we had lots of quotes and they came up a little above where we wanted to be. We would use them if the price were right.

Ace replaced a blown down fence last month. They were so good that I called them back to give me an estimate to build an open porch over my deck. This was to include lighting, skylights, ceiling fan and replacement of sliding glass doors. Ace was one of 3 contractors I contacted for estimates. Ace was quick to come to my house, surmise the situation and prepare a professional estimate. He was right on target with everything, especially on quality, workmanship and price. However, due to unrelated circumstances, I did not complete the project. However, I would highly recommend this company to anyone considering this endeavor. Ali, the co-owner, will do everything in his power to meet your needs.

These guys were great. They managed to fit me in around their schedule and mine. It was an exceedingly hot couple of weeks, and the schedule was thrown slightly off because of that, but they kept me appraised and came back to finish. The quality of the work was great. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, and the representative (Sean) had good suggestions ("No one ever wishes they'd made their porch smaller" - true!). They have also come back once, at my request, to adjust the gate, which had settled out of line.

Everything went very well. The work was done within days of my acceptance of the proposal and contract. The work itself was all done in 2 days. The workers showed up when promised, very quickly demolished the old fence and had the new fence fully framed by the end of the first day. The next day the fence was finished. It is very sturdy and well-built, and obviously of much better quality than what we had previously. The workers did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves also. Ali stayed in touch with me throughout and stopped by the house while the work was being performed to monitor its progress.

It was great. I recommend these guys all the time over the neighborhood list serve. Our sales person was Sean. Contacting him and scheduling an appointment was easy. He showed up on time. Listened to what we wanted and had additional suggestions and book of pictures to look through. I appreciated that I never felt pressured to look at the upgrades - he was just letting us know they were available. A crew of 5 or 6 tore down our existing deck and built the new one in about 3 days. It rained a lot that spring and they guys waded through lots of red clay mud but kept everything as neat as possible. The deck is great. It is extremely solid. Sean said that Ace overbuilds decks and I believe. This deck could hold a truck. So much better and safer than the previous owner's DIY deck it replaced. A crew of two came back on a Sunday and removed a 75 year old wire fence and installed wood fencing. All in the rain! The fence and deck still look good two years later. I would not (I do not) hesitate to recommend Ace.
