We had planned on getting a new deck and decided to add a screened porch to our house for additional living space. From the estimate on, Ali could not have been more helpful and knowledgable. He answered all of our questions and helped with the design of the new structure. The crew working on the project were professional. The project was done on time and within the price agreed to on the contract. Our new porch and deck are beautiful and the quality of the work is fabulous. I would and have recommended them. You will not be disappointed if you hire Ace Deck. My only regret with our new porch is that it is not bigger!

From quote to completion, Ali and his work crew were courteous, efficient, and professional. Ali worked with us on selection, and he advised us well on placement and configuration. The finished black aluminum fence around the house was a pro job, through and through, from the removal of the old chain link to the cement job around the posts. The products that Ace uses are all top grade. The supplier did accidentally send one slightly wrong post. Ali ordered it and had his guys reinstall it without fuss. We also had some minor stair cement work done while they were at it and Ali went as far as to repair other minor cracks and flaws. This is a solid, well run company with an emphasis on quality. We could not be any happier.

Ali came over and measured and answered all our questions. Provided us an estimate on the spot. Came on scheduled day, on time, and completed the work on time also. Cleaned up all materials following work. Very pleased with our fence. Would use this company again.

Ali and his crew had installed a new deck for us last winter. We have been extremely happy with the deck and with the company's fine craftsmanship and excellent service. So when it was time to install a 7' x 9' pad at the base of new deck stairs where the grass wouldn't grow, we contacted Ali. He responded immediately, suggesting a flagstone pad instead of the plain concrete we had been envisioning, at a very reasonable price. A week later, the crew came out and did the job in a single day. It looks beautiful and we are very satisfied.

Crew arrived on time and began the work right away. Everyone was focused, well trained and professional. We could not be happier with the level of workmanship and attention to detail. Great experience overall!

The company was easy to work with with good communication. They promptly sent someone to inspect the fence on my townhouse back yard and gave me a quote within a day or two for a replacement fence. The quote included all costs including removing the old fence and building a new one to my specifications. The price was competitive with those of several other companies. After some slight modifications to the contract, the work was quickly scheduled and was completed on the specified date. The workmen showed up on time and cleaned up afterword. I am happy with the quality of the fence. Communication with the owner was smooth and he answered several questions before we signed the contract. I am happy with the result.

Ali, the co-owner of the company worked with me from the start to the completion. Because my international trip and other things, there was a 6 month's delay till I actually signed the contract after getting the estimate. Ali was very good on following up with me, but doesn't make me feel the pressure. He helped to pick the best product for my project at the most reasonable rate. His crew was hard-working, professional and friendly. He worked at my property for 2 days, and cleaned up at the end of each day. I am very satisfied with their work.

From start to finish I had an exceptional experience with Ali Farzad @ Ace Deck & Fence. Ali is highly professional and very personable. As always, I had requested proposals for the job from 3 different vendors. Ali's was the most thorough proposal received. There was a detailed budget, contract and design showing the work to be completed. The job is very small and some businesses didn't even want to bid on it for that reason. I appreciate that Ali was willing to take it on. He provided me with the same level of service one would associate with a higher ticket job. I had to have everything approved by the Home Owners Association in advance, plus there were very strict guidelines for the rebuild that Ali had to conform to. He and Angelika in the office were great about facilitating paper work. Although Ali's plan had a higher price tag then the others, I chose to work with him because I believed it also reflected a higher level of craftmanship and quality of materials -- and of course the customer service was top notch! The job was completed in one day and the crew members who worked on it were courteous, efficient and did a great job of cleaning up. : )

I was quite satisfied with the professionalism and the promptness of the estimate. The co-owner explained the various options available and did not encourage one over the other based on price. His opinions were based on his years of experience. He answered all of my questions clearly and never attempted to upsell me at anytime. When the crew came they went to work immediately and took few breaks. When the end of the day came and, as the owner explained the job could take more than a day, the crew made sure that there were no gaps in the old or new fencing which might let my dog out. When they returned they again went straight to work finishing within a few hours. I do have one recommendation for the crew for the future. I strongly suggest they do a better job of cleaning up the job site. In the days following the removal and installation I found a few pieces of both the old fence and the new. But other than this small glitch, they did great work and I will definitely recommend this company and should I have fencing needs in the future, I will be calling Ace first.

Overall, Ace Deck & Fence did a great job. His crews were delayed due to some rain and 100 degree weather, so the work started later than expected and took longer than expected to do the work, but it was due to the weather and was out of their control. The crew was very professional, and went the extra mile to add additional supports to our existing deck structure. There were a few small things we noticed that needed fixed when they were almost done (we are contractors ourselves and are very picky), but Ali looked at what needed fixed and had his crews do it the very next day before they finished. Ali's price proposal was very well detailed and the price was good compared to the other contractors we had price it up. His proposal gave us all the options we wanted so we could pick and choose what materials we wanted to use based on the price. I would recommend Ace Deck & Fence to anyone looking to have decking work done on their house.

When our deck was destroyed by a fallen tree, the first thing we did was turn to Angies List to find a reputable contractor. We contacted numerous companies recommended on Angies List. Most either never bothered to respond to our inquiry or did but then failed to follow through. One set an appointment to inspect the damage and then never showed up. Fortunately, one of the companies we contacted was Ace Deck & Fence. Ali, the owner, responded immediately to our request for a quote. Ali was at our home within a few days to review the damage and determine the necessary course of action. Prior to contacting any potential contractors, my insurance company had already sent an adjuster who deemed the deck's underlying structure to be sound with needed repairs being limited to replacement of the floorboards, railings and staircase. The insurance company provided me with copies of their estimate to give to each prospective contractor. Ultimately, three contractors responded to our request for a quote. Two of the three spent very little time inspecting the deck and seemed inclined to accept the insurance company's assessment of the damages. Only Ace Deck & Fence challenged the insurance company's findings. When I contacted my insurance adjuster to revisit his original estimate, Ali cleared his schedule to accommodate my and my adjuster's schedule so he could personally go over the issues in detail. Contrary to the adjuster's assessment, the structure of our deck was not only unsound, it was unsafe (Ali advised us to limit use of the deck to an absolute minimum and under no circumstance to allow more than 2 or 3 persons on the deck at a time). Further, Ali was the only one who advised me that, due to changes in local building codes, the deck's structure wouldn't past inspection even if it were sound. Because Ali had taken the time to document each and every deficiency in detail, with pictures and references to the building code, the insurance company revised its own estimate and ultimately agreed to compensate us in the exact amount Ace Deck & Fence stated would be necessary to do the job correctly. But the story doesn't end there. In the process of demo-ing the deck, not only were each and every one of Ali's concerns about the deck's safety borne out, but Ali's business partner Hernan, who oversaw the entire project, discovered that the rim joist and sill plate to which the deck's ledger board was attached was almost totally rotted through as a result of years of water seepage beneath the sliding door. If it were not for Ace Deck & Fence, we would have been completely unaware of the structural problems with our deck. There is absolutely no doubt that a catastrophic failure of the deck was simply a matter of time. Are there other contractors in the area who do fine work? I have no doubt there are. Would any of them have taken the time and care to fully inspect the condition as Ali and Hernan did? All I know is that none did. Would any of them have taken the time to document everything in such detail that an insurance company would actually overrule its own adjuster? I doubt it. Ace Deck & Fence does beautiful work, on-time, and with exceptional value. But it's the extraordinary care and personalized service that places them so far above the competition I can't imagine why any homeowner would use anyone else. Ali and Hernan truly epitomize great customer service.

Ali is very professional and courteous, a pleasure to work with. He was always responsive to questions I had. They took care of all the crazy permits and zoning regulations that had to be dealt with in DC. What is great is that they were able to do the whole project themselves, coordinate the driveway with the deck with the fencing. I always felt confident that Ali and his team knew what they were doing, which is a huge plus. We ran into some issues with a neighbor and irrelevant questions that she had, however, Ali was very professional with her and alleviated her concerns. They are not the cheapest company, but I was not looking for the cheapest. I was looking for reasonable pricing and high quality work, and that's exactly what I got! I am very pleased with the final product and am sooo glad I found them on Angie's List!

From start to finish, the co-owner of the company worked with me to come up with the best product for my property at the most reasonable rate and made sound recommendations to me throughout the process. The aforementioned combination of aluminun and chain link fences is the most salient example of his working with me. His crew was hard-working and moved at a fast pace. They cleaned up at the end of each day of the two-day project. On the evening of the day the fence was finished, the big storm which knocked out power for several million people in the metro areas hit and felled a tree-sized branch from our oak tree directly onto the new chain link fence. The co-owner came the next business day, took a look, and said that he would work us in for the repair as quickly as possible. Although his company was very busy because of the storm and other projects, he worked our repair job into the schedule within a week and, although he had a minimum fee to send out his crew, he did not charge the full amount.

Very easy to schedule an estimate. I received a few quotes, and they were all a bit higher than I would have liked, but I ended up going with Ace Deck and Fence, as they seemed best able to work with my particular circumstances. Project didn't start quite on time due to a bad shipment of cedar, but it was worth waiting an extra week, as the finished product is very nice and I've received a lot of compliments on it. Cedar looks and smells amazing, and was a bit cheaper than the recycled, plastic sheathed, wood products. Workers were very professional and finished the project in about 2-3 weeks. They even replaced the little "deck extension" I had previously built for planters, and when I pointed out that it was not quite solid enough to support the full weight of the plants and dirt long term, they came back and added more 4x4 supports without any additional charge. The low voltage lighting is a nice touch for evening grilling.

The whole experience was excellent. There were no surprises. Ali described in detail how the project will be done and followed through. We couldn't be any happier. Ace Deck & Fence is a model example of what a customer oriented company is supposed to be.

I selected 3 potential companies. One would not schedule a visit to the house; the other company summarily dismissed my request for vinyl. Ali was prompt, courteous and made many aesthetic and practical suggestions that enhanced the project. The installation was efficient and problem-free. The fence is beautiful and keeps our 50 lb dog in the yard. I would absolutely use Ace again.

Following the derecho this summer, i was left with a damaged gate and fence. Since I have two dogs, keeping them in the yard was of prime importance. I had also had fairly extensive tree damage. All this work had to be coordinated with the tree removal going first. When I emailed Ace Deck for an estimate, Ali responded promptly. He came on the day and time promised for the estimate to replace the entire fence and two gates in my back yard. After I accepted the proposal, Ali worked with me to incorporate changes suggested by the arborist who was removing the trees, as well as shifting the date on which the work needed to be done; he was wonderful to do this, because I needed to alter the date more than once. The quality of the work is extremely high, the workers arrived on the day and time promised and were finished in practically no time. They were neat and tidy and cleaned up everything before they left. I would certainly recommend this company to anyone looking to have reasonable and high quality fencing done.

I deal with a lot of vendors in my line of work (technology services) so I'm always interested in selecting good service providers when we need something done around the house. Ali at ACE Deck & Fence was one of the best household-related vendors I've dealt with. He was very responsive (including to e-mail), offered a very competitive price, and the work turned out excellent. We were extremely happy with how the deck and fence turned out. In addition, Ali's team did the work very quickly with most of it happening when we were out of town for a week on vacation. When we did have questions or minor issues, Ali was quick to respond and address them. Overall, it was a pleasure dealing with him. I would absolutely use ACE Deck & Fence again and would highly recommend them.

Ace Deck and Fence was one of five fencing companies I contacted after our dog found a hole in our old fence and escaped our yard. The job was about 90 linear feet. Ali arrived to give me a free estimate and was professional and friendly, explaining the process and discussing our preferences with me in a way that was very easy to understand. He observed that a tree along our existing fence was leaning and suggested that we have it removed before installing the fence, which was something his company could handle for us. I received his proposal the same day as his visit, complete with a diagram of our yard and the work to be done. He also included the gate latch adjustment for free. Once I had all of the estimates, Ace Deck and Fence was clearly the standout, both for price and my confidence in the work to be performed. Ali was very responsive to emails back and forth to clarify the contract terms and in response to questions we had about what style of fence would make the most sense for our situation. We scheduled an installation date within a week of Ali's initial visit. Materials were delivered the day before as anticipated and Rudy and another worker arrived on time to get started on the fence on the date scheduled. They were very efficient, and despite a rain storm halting their work for a couple of hours, they still finished well before the end of the day. They were very polite and helpful about answering my questions. They took down the tree, removed all of the tree and brush clippings from our yard, removed the old fence, and left us with a beautiful new fence and no mess to clean up. Unfortunately, our property line marker was in the wrong place, so when my husband was looking at the fence, we realized that it had cut off almost a foot of our yard at one corner. We had property maps from our recent purchase of the house and could have provided these had they been requested in advance. When we brought the situation to Ali's attention, he responded quickly and professionally (despite being headed out of the office on vacation), offering to have Rudy come back out to move the fence to the correct place. Rudy showed up and fixed the fence at no extra charge and was again, friendly, polite, and professional. We are very happy with the way the situation was handled and we would love to work with Ace Deck and Fence again in the future.

I found Ace & Deck Fence on Angie's List, and they more than succeeded in coming to my rescue. Co-owners Ali Farzad and Hernan Tejada were very knowledgeable, personable, and willing to offer valuable counsel and advice. They and their team worked far above the call-of-duty to meet the deadlines for completing all the work necessary before the scheduled installation of sliding glass doors and windows at the rear of my home. They also made sure that work remaining from the original agreement was completed in a timely fashion after the major deadline push had ended. Both were extraordinarily responsive to my many questions and requests for changes in financing, as well as some modifications/clarifications of work. Based on bids I received for individual portions of the work, their prices were competitive. In fact, I am so pleased with their service that I am requesting additional work, i.e., a new patio.

A short time after we signed the contract (a little over a week), they scheduled the work. Even though rain had delayed their work by one day the week the work was scheduled, the crew came in the early afternoon on the the scheduled day. They worked steadily until dark, and they finished the job. They were professional and pleasant, as was the office manager who communicated with us about the scheduling. Everyone was very responsive and easy to work with. The railings look great. The design and materials are very attractive, and we are pleased. We highly recommend this company.
