Everyone at Ace Deck & Fence was a pleasure to work with. From the time we signed our contract until the fence was finished the team at keep us updated.

After receiving 2 estimates (3 providers contacted) for my fence replacement, I decided to go with Ace Deck and Fence primarily due to Ali Farzad's professionalism and responsiveness. The 2 estimates were very close so the cost wasn't an issue. Ali patiently endured my HOA application process, as well as some push-back from a neighbor, providing useful information about materials, etc. Once all was resolved, the materials were delivered and fence torn down and rebuilt within 2 days. The crew arrived at 7:00 am and left at 11:30 am. They cleaned up the area quickly and thoroughly, all with a smile. As a result of the quality work and efficiency, my neighbors have spoken to Ali about similar work. If/when my deck needs replacing, I will definitely contact Ali.

I was very pleased with the work that Ace Deck & Fence completed on a new patio, fence and deck. From consultation, Ali was very professional, listened, and provided great ideas to a soil erosion problem and designed a deck, fence, and patio solution that would overcome the limitation and issues of the landscape. While the estimate and ultimately the cost was a little more than a competitor, Ali incorporated a better design and Ace backs their work with a longer warranty. The deck was built quickly and the look turned out really sharp. The fence was built efficiently in half a day. The flagstone patio turned out better than I expected and took about a week to complete. Several neighbors have stopped by and said what a great look and job Ace has done on the property. I would recommend them for similar work.

From the initial estimate to its completion Ali and his crew were very helpful and professional. Ali worked with a neighbor to help resolve a problem that arose with the neighborhood deciding to remove/replace the old fence. He solved the issue very quickly and kept everything on track. This was a very large project and his crew worked on very hot summer days. They kept the work site clean and finished on time. The fence is beautiful and the whole neighborhood loves it. Our HOA was very happy we came in under budget and have the perfect fence.

On August 9th, I set up an appointment for an estimator to come out and give me a free estimate. The window of time was from 10am - noon, so I had to take off the entire morning. No one called me all morning and no one came. I left my house at 12:10 pm to go to work. At 12:15 pm, the estimator called me to tell me he could come to my house from his last appointment. I told him that I had to go to work and that I was frustrated that he didn't come during our scheduled time or call me to let me know he wasn't going to make it. I'm now not going to go with this company that treated me so poorly and wasn't reliable.

We are very happy with the final product of our new backyard! Ali responded quickly to our inquiry and came out within a week to provide us with a detailed estimate. Ali was professional and courteous throughout the entire process. He spent considerable time during his first visit taking measurements and providing us with a sketch of his proposed work (based on our specifications). The work began essentially on the timeline Ali told us. But we would recommend that you make sure to stay in communication with Ali about the exact type of permits that are required for your project. Also, we obviously know companies are busy with projects like ours during the summer, but there were some minor delay through the process. That said, we can't say enough about Ali and his crews' professionalism and work ethic. They completed the most labor-intensive part of the project during the hottest days of the summer. They were always professional and courteous. We are very happy with how our backyard turned out. Everything looks exactly as we envisioned, and Ali came out the last day to review the project and ensure that we were satisfied with the final product. We would highly recommend Ali and Ace Deck & Fence for your next outdoor project.

I liked Ali when he came to give me the estimate. i thought he was very thorough. I left a message so that I could accept the bid, but I didn't hear back. So I left another message and didn't hear back for a few days. When Ali did leave a message there was no apology for the lack of response. I called him back on Monday, left a message on the number he gave me as his direct line, and it is now Tuesday afternoon and I still have not heard from him....I think it is time to move on. It is to hard to contact him. I have had bad experiences before, which I had explained to Ali, and I am not going to take any chances again.

It was a good experience. They were reliable and took care of any issues.

From initial consultation to final day of service, Ali was extremely helpful and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done the way I wanted it done. He listened to all of my thoughts and concerns, in regards to how I wanted the project done, and communicated well with me. He responded to all of my emails promptly with helpful and clarifying information. at all times, Ali was 100% on the same page with me. The fence was installed in one day and turned out exactly the way I had envisioned it to look. The flagstone patio and sitting wall in my backyard took about 5 or so full days to complete. The workers were diligent and Ali's team Manager was there on most mornings to make sure everything was going as planned. Ali even stopped over on multiple occasions after hours to make sure I was pleased with the progress of the project. That being said, the patio turned out exactly the way I had hoped it would. Finally, the front walkway and front stoops took about one day to complete and look amazing. I have to admit, I can certainly be a stickler to detail, and Ace Deck & Fence provided all of the small finishing touches that many contractors are unable to provide. Ali is quite simply running a top notch business that has the needs of their customers in their best interest. Very professional, knowledgeable and communicative - you can be assured that they will get the job done the way you want it done. Thanks Ace! It went well, Ali was very professional and answered all my questions. He provided numerous pictures which helped me make up my mind as to exactly what I wanted. Rudy the installer walked the property with me to review what the scope of work was and while beginning the fence installation - came to check with me if he had a question. They did a great job of working around the numerous trees in my backyard as well as working around a stretch of wooden fence from an adjacent neighbor. I was very surprised when I returned home from work the first day to find 95% of the fence completely installed with only one small section and the lattice toppers to complete the job. Everything turned out great & the fence is beautiful! Only negative I would give is although I asked Rudy and his crew to be careful of my emerging plants - there were several that we partially covered in heavy Virginia clay - luckily I was able to save them.

Results were better than expected and crew were very professional and had a clean work site.

They did a good job. They had to coordinate with the siding people to be able to do the job and they did that. The job, due to weather, permitting, inspections, and coordination issues with the siding contractor and deliveries took quite a bit longer than estimated, but it did get done.

Ali was prompt, professional and very knowledgable. I was prepared to use him and know I would've been very happy with the work, however at the last minute I got a referral from a friend and was able to get a big discount that I couldn't refuse. I would use Ace Deck and Fence in a heartbeat in the future.

This was turnkey service. I got 5 estimates for the work (overkill) and got prices ranging from $6,000 - $18,000. Only three of the bids were from companies that clearly knew what they were doing, and of those three, Ace was the lowest. Ali provided a detailed estimate including two careful diagrams, and gave me breakouts for several options. He modified the drawings at my request. He revised the drawings to accommodate me. After we agreed on the design, Ace suppled blueprints, pulled the permit ( and dealt with the DC government). Ali gave me a start date and a completion date. The work went according to schedule and was completed within the timeframe agreed, even though there were a couple of heavy storms that prevented work. The quality of the materials is high and correct for the elements. I'm completely satisfied and have asked for estimates for new work.

Three times I called and left messages at both his cell and work numbers, I even emailed to let him know I wanted to hire him but never heard back from him.

Great company to work with. They work with you to make things happen. They did an excellent. They overcame some difficult county requirements in a creative way.

Ali and his team were wonderful to work with. He was consistently responsive and was willing to work within our budget, consulting with us on our various options of building supplies and styles. What we ended up with is an incredibly sturdy, well built composite wood roof deck made using TimberTech lumber and railings. Some additional finishing touches include Malibu lights on the railings and white PVC fascia. Ali and his team were always professional and courteous and we couldn't be more pleased with the final result of our new roof deck!

From estimate to completion, the project went very smoothly. During the estimate, Ali gave me suggestions to improve the look of the fence. Materials were delivered when promised. Fence was built by Rudy and his helper and they did an outstanding job. Except for the top lattice work, the fence was built on site. The old fence was removed and the area was cleaned after the new fence was finished. All work was completed in a day. Top workmanship for a very fair price! I would use ACE again to build a fence!

He was incredibly nice and professional. Another person came at the same time (after not calling) and complained that there was another person there, but Ali was very professional and good natured. I had one idea in my head, but he explained that while they would be happy to try, I would be unlikely to get a permit for a deck and given my patio there might be other unforeseen problems with a deck (rodent nests, mosquitoes, bad drainage), so he suggested an alternative (flagstone). I appreciated the way he listened to what I was looking for and thought creatively. While it is still more expensive than I anticipated, I don't have much to compare it to.

My husband and I wanted to use a product that would not mildew so Ali recommended Azek for the floor. The color he suggested is very good and we debated about whether or not to use dark pickets or white with a white top rail. With Ali's suggestion we used white and are happy with the look. We also wanted a ceiling over the lower patio and the small upper deck on our third floor. Our house has an above-ground basement so our kitchen, family room, living room and dining room are on the second floor. The small third floor deck is off the study on the third floor. One thing I was not originally happy about was the demolition of the main deck before removing the small top deck but it worked out in the end. I thought it would make more sense to do the work from the top down but Ali said that construction calls for doing the main deck first. I was afraid the main deck would be damaged but it was not. To date we are waiting to have the workmen come back because the ceiling over the lower patio leaks. Ali plans to come out when it's raining to check it. We took a while to make our decision on materials so the work wasn't started right after the estimate. When sending emails to Ali he was very prompt to respond. One of the things he suggested was to add a trim piece of the darker floor around the base of the deck because by adding the ceiling for the lower patio,the deck sloped slightly. By adding the trim piece it made it look nicer and took care of the problem of the frame not being the same size as it was on the original deck. There are some small nail holes on the vinyl wrap used on the support posts on the patio level and Ali said they could be spackled and painted. I hadn't planned on doing this but I'll talk to my painter about it. We're not quite finished with our project but I started this review earlier and I now need to finish it after being prompted by Angie's List a number of times.

This company is one of four we selected to give us a bid on rebuilding our deck. The deck was a 30 year old treated lumber, size 14 ft by 32 ft. The supporting structure as well as the deck needed to be replaced. Ali from Ace Deck came to inspect and measure the deck within a few days. He was very professional and made some helpful suggestions. We selected them to do the project. The decision was base on price as well as Ali's helpful suggestions and professional manner. They were able to get us scheduled for the work quickly and estimated the work would take two weeks. In fact, they were able to begin sooner than expected and they were able to finished the job in four days. We were amazed at how quickly they worked and they did an excellent job. Ali was very professional and answered our questions quickly. The deck was everything we expected and love it. I highly recommend Ace Deck.

They did a good job and both look great. The deck is 11 feet off the ground and looks exactly how we envisioned it. The composite material looks great. The deck construction time took longer than expected due to the unusually cold weather (two snow storms). They did a good job cleaning up. After they finished the deck, our county safety inspector wanted planned knee bracing installed which Ace came back and completed until the inspector was satisfied. We plan to use them again for a patio under the deck.

We sought the services of a company to replace our 32-year-old wooden deck that we inherited with the house we bought in 1999. We wanted to build a composite deck and requested estimates from deck companies. It didn?t take us long to realize that many of the companies lacked the professionalism we were looking for. That was when I joined Angie?s list to select a company with a high customer satisfaction rating. After receiving estimates from several companies, we narrowed our selection down to ACE Deck and Fencing and spoke with Ali Farzad a co-owner of the company. As we proceeded with the design, details, and final estimate, we felt we made the right choice with Ace. Throughout the process, we exchanged many emails with Ali and phone calls as well. I can?t say enough about Ali?s true dedication to customer service and ensuring all of our concerns and questions were always answered in a very short amount of time. Ali went the extra mile by tailoring the design changes to meet our exact specifications. His crew was always polite and always ensured the work was top-notch. They did such a great job that we also contracted with them for a flagstone patio under half of the deck and in front of our basement door. Once again, the work was impeccable. Ali went the extra mile by doing extra waterproofing under our deck and we couldn?t be happier with the results. The only disappointing thing about the results is the deck and patio is now the most attractive feature in our house. Yes, without exaggeration that?s just how good Ace?s work is. The bottom line is this; I strongly endorse this company and can?t say enough about Ali and Ace as a highly reputable company that you will not be disappointed with.

We were under a tight deadline as we were planning a wedding reception in the back yard. Ali was very professional and made sure the work was completed on time. They even came the morning of the reception to make all of the finishing touches. It's been almost a year later and the yard still looks great.

ACE wasn't the quickest to respond, but got back to me within a few days and then kept in touch when we had issues getting an appointment done. During the estimate process, Ali walked with me around the yard and made me feel much more comfortable than most of the other companies in terms of discussing the details of construction (depth of posts, concrete, options), local regulations (height, setbacks) and other info. He was the only one to measure the yard with me based on the actual drawings to determine that at least in the front, our property didn't actually go the street but stopped a bit short. Because of this, he was able to measure, incorporate the required setbacks and mark where the posts with be with sticks for reference. When the estimate came back, it was in the middle of the pack in terms of price, but the 'feel' I got from the company played into the decision to go with them after some discussions of price. After I decided to go with them, things moved fast. I agreed to the contract and drawings and paid the deposit for the wood. Within 3 days of that, the wood was delivered, and within 5-7 days after agreement, Rudy and Ismail started the project. They arrived before 7 (as promised) and we walked around to discuss the job. They were done hand-digging (we have a ton of roots) the post holes (probably around 35) by 11. I was personally amazed The put the horizontal supports up and told me they would be done in the early afternoon and would come back the next day to finish. The next day, they were out there on time again and I walked the perimeter with them and we discussed a few things again. I went to work, came home, and the fence was done, with post caps and scalloped dips cut. The gates all worked well and the fence looked great. All of neighbors stopped by to say as much. The guys cleaned up pretty well and didn't mess up the lawn too badly especially considering it was shortly after a decent rain. All in all, I was very pleased with my experience. The initial response and setting up of the estimate was not the best of the companies I dealt with, but from the day Ali came for the estimate, and every step the rest of the way, ACE was exceptional. Rudy and Ismail did a great job. I would have NO ISSUE recommending these guys to friends and family (or you).
