Ace Deck & Fence

My saga to get a fence installed was very long. I originally contacted Ali and Angelika with Ace circa 11 November. Ali and Angelika were great and were able to give me a much needed short time window to meet me for an estimate. Ali met me at the property and within a few days provided me with an estimate and drawing of the fence installation. I was seriously obsessed with getting a cedar board and batten privacy fence, but needed to submit all the paperwork to the HOA first. Unfortunately my HOA changed their architectural committee address and the paperwork went missing for several weeks. About a month later, I finally had approval, but then the holidays hit and everything shut down. After that, we had a streak of bad weather which didn't allow for any outdoor work. Finally the fence could be put up and I couldn't be happier with it. It's a thing of beauty. The workers were neat and clean. They cleaned up after themselves and arrived early to the worksite during the two days it took them to put up the fence. Is it sick to want to sit outside admiring my fence?? Thanks, Ali!

Overall I had a really good experience doing business with Ace Deck and Fence. The initial contact was over email, they provided a general quote based on plot map and some basic specifications. After that I had an on-site consultation, everything was measured and all details specified. The representative was very knowledgeable and explained everything that would be done. That being my second quote, I liked their quote better in terms of price as well as materials, and all other factors, so we went ahead with the project. The first half of the payment was required to start, then they put it in the pipeline. I was contacted to let me know utilities will be marked to ensure there was access to the property. Then about two weeks later I emailed to check on the status of installation, and was told that it was all done. That would be my only complaint - not being notified of the installation date or the completion of the project. I am not sure how long it would have taken them to let me know, had I not asked....Luckily the project was done perfectly, after going to the property I was glad not to have to argue over any issues. I was glad to have gone over all the specific details at the initial consultation, otherwise I'm sure there would be problems. So until the company tightens up communications, I would recommend potential customers to cover any requests and details ahead of time...

Professional. The installers were on time and cleaned up well. Very easy to work with. I'm also very happy with the finished product - the dry snap was installed just before a very rainy day and it was great to be able to run from the car to the deck and open the door without getting soaked. Looking forward to using the space in the warmer weather, too. I would definitely call them again.

ali and his team were terrific! We had a deck that was falling apart and Ali's team replaced it with a fabulous screened in porch and recommended and designed the perfect side porch for a grill and a few chairs. The team was terrific to deal with and the craftsmanship is top notch. We are thrilled with the end result and would recommend Ace highly to any of our friends or family. great job!

Ace Deck and Fence did a great job. After getting the permit, they were able to start pretty soon after. Since there is no access to the back of the house through an alley, they had to carry everything through the house. To protect my wood floors they put down floor mats first. No damage at all. It took them about a week to get everything done, including demolition of the old fence, putting down posts while working around the existing deck, installing lighting, a gate at the back, and replacing rotten boards in my deck that they found. The new fence looks great and the price was very reasonable. Ali and all of the people at Ace Deck and Fence were very nice to work with. I would definitely use them again.

Ali and his crew were professional and friendly. The obtained my permit the day they got the go ahead from my neighbors and started the next day. Fredy and his helper arrived early each morning and worked until after 5. The job was finished in 4 days and I am very happy with the finished product.

Ali came to my house for an estimate. He was very concerned about being punctual since he called me while he was en route and close to my house. The vinyl fence company he partners with is in Fredericksburg. It's nice to have a locally made product! Their vinyl fence had the best warranty among all my other estimates. When work began, they noticed a flaw in the gates (I had three made). Ali came to my house himself and personally drove them to the manufacturer to get a replacement. Just a few days later the install resumed and it was finished quickly. I had no issues after personally inspecting every foot of fence on my property. The fence matches my house perfectly and I received many compliments from my neighbors. You need a vinyl fence and you live in northern VA? Call these guys. Ali knows how to take care of customers.

The replacement fence crew arrived on site first thing in the morning, dismantled the old fence and constructed a new 6 ft. fence to include a latched gate. The team also replaced the fence with gate of my neighbor and completed it in record time as well. All members of the crew were polite and professional - and upon completion of the project they removed all of the old fence debris from the work site. Ace Deck & Fence deserves the "super service rating" that they have on Angie's List and we definitely recommend this company to other potential customers!

Very satisfied with the whole process and the final product. Everyone was great to deal with, and everything was completed at the price and timing quoted. Ace was the second company we contacted and Ali produced a design plan for the fence that was an improvement over the first company's plan. The plan had a better layout and required less alteration to our landscaping. We appreciated Ali providing a fair price quote at the outset - the other company's quote was significantly higher even with comparable materials. We asked for one small addition to the original plan and they were easily able to accommodate it with only the cost of the additional materials. Installation was painless for us - we did not need to be home for the installation, and the crew did a good job at protecting the landscaping and cleaning up, which was no doubt a tough task after several days of rain immediately preceding the installation. The longest part of the process was waiting for the materials to be delivered from the manufacturer. The materials were ordered the day we paid our deposit, and it was all installed within a couple days of the material arriving. After the work was completed, Ali gladly came by the next business day to make one small adjustment we wanted after seeing everything in place. Had we been home when the installation was completed, it could have been taken care of then, so we appreciated him accommodating our schedule. It is nice to deal with a company that truly wants your business and is attentive to your needs. We are very happy with how it all turned out and have already started talking with Ali about another project.

I wish every experience I had with a company would go as well as this one. Ali is a professional and really knows what he is doing. His team of workers are also very knowledgeable and work well together. I called Ali to get an estimate on the work in May. I made a change later in the summer, and he came promptly to make that change to the design and work began in September. Work was started September 17 and completed approximately 2 1/2 weeks later. It is beautiful. We are happy to have these two stone patios in the backyard, the deck looks great along with the fence. The patio was designed well and the drainage in our backyard now is better than it was prior to the work being done. Work areas were cleaned up everyday and even though we have a garden in the back, very little of the byproducts of the work, such as gravel and cement, got into the garden. The team was aware of the areas and did not trample them. Ali made improvements to the design of the second patio. He ensured that the drainage away from the house was accomplished successfully. I highly recommend this company to anyone seeking quality work for a fence, deck and patio.

Ali is very responsive and professional. He gave us some ideas for a fence and for adding stairs to our deck. The work was done very quickly and was completed ahead of schedule. A year later everything is holding up well and we have contacted Ali about another project. We would not hesitate to use the company again.

A young woman came and measured our Yard for fencing. It was a hot day and she did a fantastic job with accurate measuring. We were pleased with the evaluation and was planning to use them for the hard work. But an economic hardship came up and we couldn't get the work started. When we are able I would like to have them work on our fencing.

Very well. The project start date was close to the projected start date, there was good communication in terms of when to leave the back gate unlocked for workers and when they would return, the work was done with precision and clean-up was thorough. Ali came out for one final inspection to answer questions about care and maintenance.

Great job. Ace Deck & Fence had a good presentation with lots of pictures so you could see the various fence options to choose from. They actually got our job started earlier than normal to accomodate some other landscaping scheduled after the fence install--we appreciated the extra effort to get our materials early so the project could start quickly. The fence went up in two days. We had some challenges with retaining walls and a sloping yard, but they communicated very well during the installation to make sure it was going up as we envisioned and verifying with us each step of the way. After the install, there were a few defects in some of the wood pieces used and a gutter drain that was unmarked and buried was damaged when digging a fence post. We identified those items to Ali and Ace Deck & Fence immediately jumped on it and took care of those items the next day without any hesitation. Fence looks great! Would definitely recommend them and already have to two of our neighbors/friends.

The entire experience working with ACE Deck and Fence was wonderful! They were prompt with communications, did the job exactly as we had requested and in a timely manner. They had very good pricing ($1000 less than another company we looked at!) and everyone was a pleasure to work; with from Ali, a co-owner of the business, to Angelika with whom we communicated frequently, and the crew that came to put our fence in yesterday. Working with them truly has been a great experience. My husband and I highly recommend ACE Deck and Fence!

Great! From the initial meeting with co-owner Ali for the quote to getting the quote via email and answering questions, to scheduling with their office staff, they were always professional and very responsive. I had other contractors come and not even send a written estimate like they said they would! Ace did a super job! We LOVE our new front porch. They cleaned up the work site and power washed the new porch when they were done. We would definately consider them for our next projects down the road and highly recommend them!.

Ace Deck and Fence was quoted by Ali. We had three other quotes from Angie Vendors but he was the only one to notice a problem we may have with a retaining wall where our fence was going in. In other words he went the extra step to make sure that we would be happy with his work even though it may have cost more to do. In the end we just did a few repairs on the retaining wall and it did not cost any more. If you want someone who is going to think around the whole problem and give you a good solution and provide good work I would recommend Ace Deck and Fence. William Crawford

Ace was great at getting us a fence installed quickly and professionally. When I made our appointment, Ali showed up on time and was great at explaining options we could consider. I had a fence type we already wanted, so it was a rather straightforward job. We received our quote through email. I appreciated that this company used email as a part of their communication as it helped with our coordination for starting the job. I persoanlly checked references with two other customers and they were very pleased with their fences and working with Ace. Once we signed the contract, Ace coordinated with the county for the utilities and then we were able to set a date for installation. We had our fence nearly completed within a day. The only thing that was unfinished were a couple of post caps. We had a special type which some needed to be ordered. I didn't need to send any reminders or follow up for them to complete the job. Once the cap's arrived, they were installed quickly. Our experience with Ace Deck and Fence was great. I would recommend them.

Ace Deck & Fence did an excellent job. I was very pleased with the design of the deck, compared to the other designs that were submitted to me by two other highly rated Angie's List companies. Ali Frazad, my main contact at Ace, submitted a comprehensive proposal for the deck, in which the work to be performed was completely described and priced. The deck design, detailed proposal, and Ali's professionalism during the in-home estimate were all reasons that we chose Ace Deck & Fence. During the process itself, Ali's crew was able to start the deck much sooner than originally anticipated. They quickly dismantled the old deck, and built the majority of the new deck within approximately one week. At the point that the footers required inspection by Fairfax County, the deck passed immediately. The deck had a couple of minor issues on final inspection, but these issues were soon remediated by Ace and the deck passed inspection. The cost of the deck was exactly as had been estimated in the original proposal, and we couldn't be more happy with the result. Since building this deck, we did go back and once again employ Ace Deck & Fence to do some hardscaping flagstone work, and again they performed extraordinarily. I recommend them to everyone who comments on our new outdoor space.

It was a great installation, done in one day, very quick and professional, they walked around the entire area to make sure we were happy with everything. They also installed 3 gates. We got the black aluminum that looks gorgeous -- looks like wrought iron. We went with a 5 foot fence, commercial grade because our dog could grow to be about 75 pounds.

We found Ace Deck and Fence to be a very professional company to work with. Their quote was very reasonable, we had 6 quotes overall and they came in at the lower end. The company had a huge portfolio of past projects and had received very good reviews on Angie's List, so we felt confident to place our business with them. We found Ali Farzad (co-owner) to be very responsive and happy to work with us. He checked on his people's work several times during the project and even came back to repair a section of fence soon after construction that was probably damaged by an animal (no questions asked). We highly recommend Ace Deck and Fence, ask for Ali, he is young, energetic and very customer facing. We would definitely use them again for another project.

Very prompt. Gave us a variety of designs. Worked with us on ways to control costs. The result was terrific. Very easy to work with Ali and his team.

After several research we shortlisted few vendors to do this job. Based on existing reviews we decided to go with Ace Deck. Though the price was little high we didn't want to take chance on the quality and decided to go with Ace Deck and Fence. Ali did a good job and understood our requirements. The measurements where accurate and the contract had the map with the proposed setup. We confirmed the order during mid July. But there was delays in starting the work - As soon as we placed the order, Dominion utility came as a surprise to stand a new pole in the backyard which was in the path of the new fence. Ali understood our problems and accommodated this without much deviations and no price changes. After Dominion completed the work we had to wait another one more week for the fence install - Ace Deck in the meantime had scheduled another job. We were not too much upset about the delays as the timelines where already mentioned to us based on these changes. The work commenced on Aug 15th and ended on Aug 20th. Few materials were missing and we also suggested some minor changes to the railings. Ali was patient and included these changes and additional materials ordered during the course of work. The crew members were courteous and did a wonderful job. Overall I am happy and satisfied with the project. I will definitely consider them for future work.

Ali, the owner, came out to meet me and discuss the project. He explained the process in detail, outlined the various options, and gave me some good suggestions of things we might considering doing. After discussing fence proposals with the condo board, we chose Ace to provide our fence. Once the contract was signed, the permit and fence order were complete within a couple of weeks. All Ace personnel were very professional throughout the process. I received notification the night before the project was going to start, but since this is a condo building and there was nothing behind to interfere with the process so it did not impact anyone. I received the permit early in the process and was able to post it before work started. Ali and Angelika, the office manager, kept in contact with me while the fence was going up and afterwards. The building management company worked with Angelika to make payments and everything worked smoothly. The fence went up over the course of three days and Ali met with me the day after it was completed to hand over keys and to explain how to take care of the fence. I really appreciate how easy this whole process was. Ace was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend them to everyone!

After getting several estimates for work, we decided to go with Ace Deck & Fence based on price and Ali's willingness to spend time with us and patiently provide us with creative options for the work we were considering. We initially thought we'd be building a big composite deck off the back of our house, but after several meetings with Ali, we reformulated our approach and decided a stone patio coupled with a smaller, but more space efficient deck would better suit our needs. Ali was able to walk us through the pros and cons of the various scenarios we were considering to help us make an informed decision - no pressure selling or impatience with us not knowing exactly what we wanted, which was the treatment we got from several other estimators. Ali and crew worked quickly and efficiently, and let us know when they were scaling back crew hours due to the heat wave. The deck went up first, followed by the stone work for the patio, front walkway, covered patio, and stepping stone walkways. The work was very good quality and done professionally - they even appeared to put thought behind the layout of varying stone colors and textures, so as to prevent any unsightly "grouping" of greys/browns, etc. When we had a question or nitpick about any details, we let Ali know and the issue was resolved before they moved to the next stage of our project. Ali was very communicative with us, and we usually had a reply within a day of any request or issue. He was available and stopped by throughout the project to ensure that we were happy with the progress. Overall, we're very pleased with the work and have received several compliments from neighbors and passersby. It was a pleasure to work with Ali - his patience, professional smarts, and understanding of our needs made the difference for us, and we plan to contract with Ace & Fence soon again for several other projects.
