We purchased our Georgetown townhouse roughly a year ago and started relatively extensive remodeling that entailed a remodel of a kitchen, 3 bathrooms, installation for hardwood floors on the upper level of the house, a paint job and a number of other smaller one-time jobs. Being quite green entering the homeownership in 2012, we considered ourselves home-improvement veterans by the time when we were referred to Aazar Floors by Italo Ceramico -- a new tile store in Rockville. At the time, we were looking for a company that would be able to re-tile our entry hall with Italian porcelain tile and would deliver high-end finish. Saeid's crew did just that, installing roughly 200 square feet of 18x18" tile in a diagonal pattern in our foyer and in a brick pattern in our laundry room. Prior to scheduling the job, Saeid came to our home to provide an estimate. He was impecably on time, walked us through the project and followed up with what we considered a very reasonable quote within 24 hours. Saied appeared exteremely friendly, courteous, professional and trustworthy -- a great impression overall. Perhaps most interestingly, although Saeid runs his company and the jobs are typically performed by his (what we considered) very competent crew, he is a great craftsman himself, with a very good eye for design and, as it turned out later, great attention to detail. On the day of the job, the crew arrived on time at 10 am and completed the job in two days -- exactly as discussed. While the crew was busy at work, Saeid was coming to check on them periodically. Once the job was completed on Friday (everything immaculately clean), Saied returned on Saturday morning to apply grout sealer between tiles. The whole affair was exteremely pleasant -- we have not had such an efficient, stress-free experience with any of the other companies which worked on our house previously. Our past experience with other companies was that a significant amount of supervision is needed, that there are typically hick-ups along the way, that there is a lot of back and forth on many of the jobs, and that one thing or another typically turns contentious. This was most definitely not the case here. The crew knows what they are doing and Saeid runs a tight ship, looking to deliver a high quality end-product. (The guys appear to like working for him very much, still). For example, having been used to lots of push-back from other companies, we stopped asking for perfection and were simply asking for a good quality. As such, I did not even dream to suggest that the tile should be ended with a shaped toe-kick that would wrap around our carved hardwood staircase -- I would have a few months ago but by now, I felt short of energy. Well, I did not ask for it and yet I discovered it when I returned home from work. Saied took intiative and went to a specialty store to get it (free of charge) to complete the finished look. I was lost for words. We loved the experience so much that we immediately scheduled the much postponed installation of a kitchen mosaic tile back-splash. A lovely experience all over again. The job was completed in one day, entailed a de-installation and re-installation of a chimney hood, and setting of a 12x12" glass tile. Since the tile was quite expensive, we tried to economize on the number of pieces purchased and get by with a bare minimum needed for the job. We were told we will need 28 square feet of tile, plus 2 squares as a reserve. It was exactly what we needed -- there was no wastage what so ever. All I can tell is that these people have some experience and we love our new kitchen's look. The greatest testimony to the quality of Aazar Floors' work is the fact that all the work was performed with a 4-month old infant in the house and one supervising adult (my husband), with no sleep disruptions and crankiness. Bravo! We thank Aazar Floors for the very lovely experience and we are only sorry that we have not known of the company before we re-modeled our bathrooms ... Saeid should have gotten that job as well!
Description of Work: We used Aazar Floors to re-tile our foyer and laundry room ($1,800). Our experience was so outstanding that we also scheduled the long-postponed installation of a high-end mosaic tile back-splash in our kitchen ($1,000). During the back-splash installation, Aazar Floors also installed wooden transitions between the tile floors in two of our bathrooms and the hardwood floor in the bedroom/hallway that were not completed during our bathroom remodel with another company.
