Rental home had a clogged drain on 4th of July. We tried to resolve the issue but discover a blockage in the drain pipe which we couldn’t resolve. Angieslist hire a pro gave us a list of 4 providers. All of them had similar reviews. Selected the one who was willing to come the same day. I asked about Covid policies and he said he will be wearing a mask. He arrived and though he had a mask he Walked in with his street shoes even though we removed ours. During the process he took no precautions to protect the carpet or floor. Left with water soaked hall carper and utility floor which we had to address ourselves. He didn’t even offer to help. After he bolted Discovers a small leak under the utility sink which he used to remove the blockage. He did come back to fix the leak but left a gap of 2 inches between the wall and the sink. (He said he didn’t do it but the tenant and we know he did and there was no point in arguing as his attitude was getting worse by the minute). We expressed a concern about the gap asked maybe he could caulk the gap or do something that would prevent the shifting of the sink. He said “I’m a plumber not a handyman! Plummer’s don’t carry caulk!” WOW!!! We will be watching closely to see the quality of work. He also expected us to pay upfront with Venmo or check. Even though in the past Angieslist took care of the payment.

The guy was a flake and I could never understand what he even said his name was. I called and left a voice message saying I wanted to schedule an appointment. He never returned my call so I called him again. When he answered the phone then he told me he could be at my house the next morning between 8:30 and 9:00 and to text him my address, which I did. The next morning at 9:30 when he hadn't shown up or called, I called him and got his voicemail again. I left another message. Then I also sent him another text. His response to my text made no sense. It said "Let me go my self to te care the problem no worries I will see you soon". I texted him back and asked if he was coming now and asked why he hadn't called me back. His response again made no sense. He said "Yes I was working on are basement I will see you soon". "Are" basement??? Whose basement??? I texted him one last time asking him who he was talking to and told him I was a customer. I told him to call me because the text messages made no sense and that's now how you do business. By the time he called me, I was done. I had other things to do then sit around all day and wait for him to maybe come to my house and maybe call me and maybe send a text that made sense. He never even provided his name! He sent a text message saying he was driving to my house but didn't say how far away he was or when he would arrive. I immediately started calling other plumbers who were professional and interested in my business.

The home warranty company The hot water tank is in my garage/laundry room. If we ran dishwasher or washing machine, we would run out of hot water in the shower. He was supposed to come at 10 am. At 10:45 am, I called him back to see where he was. He said he was stuck in traffic. I asked why he didn't call and notify me, he said he didn't like talking on the phone while driving. He said he would be there shortly. He showed up at 12pm. He pulled up in an unmarked van, and got out of the passenger side. I confronted him on why he lied about talking on phone while driving, if he had another driver. I allowed him to view my hot water heater. He wanted to take a credit card payment through his phone. I told him I would pay him cash. He couldn't tell me if it was fixable or when it would be fixed. He gave me no more information than I already knew. The home warranty company told me they would not cover the damage because it was leaking because of erosion. The plumber came out to take pictures to prove that erosion had taken place on the hot water tank. I told him to get off my property. I did not want him doing any work. When I told him to get off my property he reported me to the home warranty company stating he felt threatened and wants to press charges against me.

They did an excellent job and Jerry is very personable. He was helpful and right on time. He knows we're selling our house and want it to look great.
