VICTOR CONTRERAS HANDYMAN SERVICES

My husband and I had hired Victor before and we trusted his work. Unfortunately, this time we had a terrible experience. Victor was hired to purchase and install 3 sets of closet doors. 2 of the 3 closet doors will not open all the way and rub against the wall when opening and closing. Another closet door has a sharp nail protruding through the door handle. One set of doors were installed cracked. Victor was also paid to purchase and install new bathtub faucet handles. Within one day of installing them, one of the handles came completely off. When the handle came off, the leak that Victor was paid to fix became worse and our bath tub would run constantly and we could not turn it off. We had to pay a commercial plumbing company to come out and repair what Victor repaired. I called and texted Victor daily for 5 days after the repairs had been done. It’s been 3 weeks- he never called me back.

Victor was recommended to me by a neighbor who has used his services for years. I has a small piece of trim on the 4th floor of my house that the paint has stripped off down to the bare wood. I needed to get it fixed quickly before it got worse. I had a bunch of other work that I was just waiting to call a handyman for. I called him on a Saturday, he came Sunday to see the scope of work. On Sunday he told me it might be a week or so before he could get started because he was behind on other jobs because of all the rain we'd had the week before (massive flooding all over the place and rain 6 days in a row!). I was fine with this because my work schedule was crazy. When he called on Monday to give me the total amount of the job he said he'd like to come Tuesday to do the powerwashing! He returned on Friday to finish up the rest of the tasks. My schedule didn't allow me to be home while he performed the work but according to my family member he was prompt, very friendly and did a great job. Based on what I see in the final product I am more than satisfied! I didn't get quotes from other companies. I am confident however that I got a more than fair price and the work was done in less than a week! I will definitely keep his number on hand for future projects!

Our experience with Victor was wonderful. His estimate was much more competitive than others we received and he started the work sooner rather than later and took half the time to finish the job than what we had anticipated(2 days). I was particularly impressed with how he managed the patch of our bathroom plaster ceiling-it looks as good as new! He also power washed our driveway and front steps, which was not included in the estimate and looks great. He matched the paint, purchased it and all the materials. We felt comfortable having him in our home, especially since we have a cat who often takes advantage of any opportunity to escape the household. Victor's work is top notch and worth every penny!
