Description of Work: Painted front of row house. Arrived on time and worked efficiently. Had a problem with paint pealing, but they came back quickly and corrected the issue. Would hire again.

Description of Work: Mario, the owner was very nice when I first met him and we scheduled the job. A crew of 4 showed up as we scheduled on the first day but they didn't have the paint. They weren't given the information I sent to the office. I showed them the email but they needed me to write everything down for them again. All seemed to be going well till I checked on the hallway and they were painting it a dark gray color, not the off-white I wanted. Luckily I was working from home so could check on them. They insisted they got the color I told them to get but when I showed them the swatch and the number they said the person at the store must have given them the wrong color. | |I was having my kitchen and hallway painted, kitchen cupboards painted and hardware installed and light fixtures changed. They said they'd be finishing up the second day (3 showed up the second day). I was very happy that they'd be done so soon. I was a little apprehensive because the lead guy, Victor, didn't really seem to be listening to my instructions about light fixtures, which picture hanging materials to leave, etc. | |It did not turn out well. There was a lot of paint on the floor, they forgot to put the knobs on the cabinets, and they did not follow any instructions on which picture hanging material to keep. | |Mario came over to see what was wrong. When I showed him and told him I wasn't happy he got very angry and defensive. When I showed him the paint all along my new floor, he said "you didn't tell me it was a new floor!". I don't care if my floor was 30 years old, they shouldn't have left paint on it. I pointed out the sloppiness on the edges of the walls where 2 different colors met, also a spot that was left unpainted by the dishwasher. He said you couldn't see that spot unless the dishwasher was open and I told him I wanted it painted. There were numerous other places where the old paint color was still visible on edges. He got very frustrated with me and said he did a great job and got great reviews. When he got angry and belligerent I told him I was not comfortable with the way he was talking to me, actually it started to get a little scary. He said he was passionate and cared what he did and was not like the "others who smiled and had character". Whatever that meant. | |The crew came back the next day with Mario and he pointed out to them exactly what needed to be fixed. They did fix it, for the most part. My cabinets used to close completely but when I pointed out that they no longer closed (some of them) they said I needed to install magnets. I told them I never needed them before but they just insisted I needed magnets. On two cabinets right next to each other the knobs didn't line up, they're close together so it's very obvious. On the doors from my kitchen to my dining room, Victor said I got the wrong kind of knobs so he couldn't install them. At this point I just wanted them to be gone. Afterwards, I noticed that not only did he not install the knobs on the doors from the kitchen to the dining room, but he took the old ones! He just left the holes. | |There was an issue too with the paint on the cabinets not matching the trim in the kitchen (they were supposed to be the same). After much back and forth and being told I didn't understand how paint was mixed, I just accepted this too. | |The price was good, but you get what you pay for.
