It went great! Their price was competitive, they were professional and my boss is very happy with the work. We would hire them again.

The three person team was a disaster. They appear to have been a subcontractor. Although they showed up with one day notice (great), the work went rapidly downhill. I recommend that Angie's List remove them from the Super Saver list. First they relocated all of the furniture to the unprotected porch despite a forecast of rain and snow. We moved some of the light furniture to the garage and had them move the rest to protect it. The real disaster came when they replaced the furniture. They gouged our newly refinished hardwood floors in several places, including the middle of the room where everyone can see. Moreover, when replacing the furniture, they got paint on the coffee table and piano because they moved the furniture through recently painted doors that had not dried. Second, we had contracted for a ceiling repair but dropped that since we could not clear the room for them to work. The original bid was for three days work time. But even after dropping this big piece of work, they took four days to complete the job and were so rushed on the last day that the quality totally fell apart. They took their time for the first three days, including long lunch periods (more than 1 hour) and short workdays (6-7 hours) and then did not have time to complete the work with any quality. The stair risers have drips where the paint ran down. Third, they painted an outside garage door without properly preparing the surface. As a result, the paint is already peeling. Also, they painted the door on the coldest day which didn't help adhesion. Fourth, the wallpaper removal was successful and they did a decent job of painting the walls, which is why they received a D not an F for quality. but there were paint drops on the floor and trim. In other areas, there were paint drops on the carpet. Fifth, they did a terrible job of cleaning up. They used our utility sink, but did not clean out the paint from the bottom. Since we use this sink for laundry, the paint residue is a big issue. They left the unused paint cans with the rollers in them. Imagine what that paint will look like after the rollers sit for several months or years. There was a big paint spot on the front porch, which wasn't even part of the paint job.

Mario and his organization are superb. We have used them three times, this last time for kitchen cabinets (after painting the whole house outside and then two rooms inside). We have had two different crews and both were outstanding. The kitchen cabinet crew apparently specializes in this and it shows. It actually looks like we got new cabinets. The crew was punctual every day and provided immaculate clean up. We recommend Solutions Painting without reservation to all our neighbors.

I chose them based on their website which claimed "technical expertise," "careful preparation," and "our superior building services with our experience give you exceptional results." This was the service I was hoping for and that's what I expected. Being in my early 70's and a part time caregiver, it was important for me that it would be a stress free experience. The crew consisted of a foreman/carpenter and painter. When I saw the finished work, I couldn't believe the poor workmanship. The 6'8" weather shield had been damaged caused by the power sander. Also, there were now numerous slits, gashes, and nicks on the wooden door frame. I later counted approx. 50 defects on the frame. Some painted areas were also bumpy or ruff. What made it even worse was that this was right at the entrance to my home where anyone entering or leaving could easily see these imperfections. Yet the foreman didn't acknowledge any of the flaws. I thought I better deal directly with Mario, the owner, as I wanted him to see for himself the inferior work and that I wasn't exaggerating. Unfortunately he was a no-show as I was informed the foreman was coming back to just install a new weather shield. Nothing was mentioned about correcting the other flaws so I rejected that offer. I had some neighbors/friends inspect my door frame including several that worked in the home construction/improvement business. They considered the workmanship to be inferior too as one called it "sloppy." They wondered why the weather shield hadn't been removed before the power sander was used. Nobody could explain why all the imperfections had occurred on the door frame if it was done by a professional. I was told that all the slits, etc. on the frame would need a filler before it was repainted again. Under their advisement, I decided to use another firm to make the necessary repairs to the door frame although using another company would require me to spend more money and time to have it fixed properly. I've owned my present house for 42 years and have had numerous major and minor home improvements done during that time. This is the worst experience I've had with a home improvement/repair company as there was a definite lack of quality control despite the prominent claims they made on their website. I should have been suspicious about using this company in the beginning when Mario came out to give me an estimate. I happened to mention the painter who had painted my front door and he disputed that fact by quickly replying "No he didn't." I was stunned and offended by his response as I've used that particular painter on previous jobs. That painter declined to do this job because of the carpentry involved. Mario should have been more concerned with the quality of his company's own work. Mario never came back to check on any of the problems with my door frame.

Mario’s crew is very skilled and they work quickly. We have had them complete several projects for us around our house (including major indoor paint work, wallpaper removal, and deck refinishing) and they completed it quickly. We were home during the bulk of the project and I trust his crew on our home without us present. The communication isn’t always the smoothest but don’t let that deter you from hiring this team. You won’t have to worry about any quality issues when they’re responsible for doing the job. We will count on them for every future paint related project.

Everything went perfectly well. They arrived on time, did an excellent job, and were very responsive to a last-minute change in paint color. This is the second time I used Solution Painting and will do so again.

I was afraid that the 6-8 man crew would create chaos, but it was just the opposite. Every man knew his job, and the foreman consistently checked their work to be sure it was well-done. The workers were friendly, polite, neat, and careful with our belongings; they made nail pop outs disappear and repaired an uneven ceiling with several large holes so well that even I couldn't identify the original problem. We did have a serious concern about one of the paint finishes, and the foreman was able to create a solution that, in my opinion, was fair to both of us. I would hire them again tomorrow!

The *only* wrinkle was that the estimator arrived late. Everything else was top knotch: the painting quality, the clean-up, the punctuality of the painters. (At the same time as this work was being done, we were having the kitchen remodeled. Their painter wasn't nearly as good as Solution's are. The front rooms' paint looks noticeably better.)

This is a tough review to write, because I genuinely wanted this to be a great finished project. The painters certainly spent a long time at my house, and the people were friendly and came back multiple times to fix things that weren't quite right. But at the end of the day, I am disappointed by the end result. The painting isn't as precise as I would like. I have had to go back and repaint multiple areas throughout the house. I think they underestimated how long the project would take, and ended up rushing. I had to have them come back multiple times to reinstall a towel bar that wasn't quite right. I had to buy a new American flag for my house after their truck ripped if off the outside wall. I had to have the carpets cleaned due to all the paint on the floors, and I had to have them come back to clean the garage because the floor was covered with paint. I think they would do a better job on an empty house, and I think they should allow themselves more time. The rushing led to mistakes - they painted an entire area of my house the wrong color, but luckily I ended up liking it so they didn't have to change it. On the whole, friendly people, they were quick to return to fix things that were not right, but I am still repainting areas that need touch-ups as I find them.

Excellent job painting my whole condo by Will and his crew. Mr. Vega came out for an estimate and gave me one on the spot. Although the estimate was higher than others, they were able to get me on the schedule right away and I was in a bit of a time crunch. Very happy with the paint job. The office was very quick to respond to emails.

Their work looks really good. They did miss a few things. One was the book shelves that had been taken down. I caught that just before they left and they stayed and completed that. The other was the wall in the archway between the kitchen and dining room. We didn't notice that until the day after. We just painted that ourselves. They did not paint the back of the door leading to the basement. I guess technically that is not the kitchen so if you want that painted make sure you let them know. Otherwise they did a great job

I have used many painters in Northern Virginia who have failed to live upto my expectations. That has all stopped now. Solution Painting met and then far exceeded anything that I could have expected. Everyday they left the area spotless, drop cloths picked up and everything clean. They even went so far as to clean the outside of the gutters so the white trim sparkled all around the house. A small area of rot wasn't filled and sanded, but instead the entire board was replace, matched, caulked and painted. A fantastic local business that I will support again. Cannot express how pleased we are.

I got a quote which seemed high. I told the owner I had another quote, and he immediately knocked the price down a few hundred. I called to schedule a date, and was told they didn’t know if they could fit me in that date but would call back. I didn’t get a call back. I called to check in and they said they were all set to start the following day, unbeknownst to me. The workers spent a good deal of time on prep, but the actual painting job was subpar. Color was bleeding through. I called the owner to have it fixed and he was rude when he came back to look. He said there was nothing wrong with the job, but that he would send the workers back to fix. They did come back to do another coat apparently, but I can still see parts of the old color coming through and then they got paint on the ceiling and trim the second go around. I’ve since hired other painters for other rooms and their price was much more reasonable, and quality better.

Excellent- They went out of their way to please us. Excellent prep including using burners to remove old paint from metal surfaces. They are really professional.

The crew took almost two days to prep for painting. They power washed the house and scraped and caulked to a point that several neighbors commented. In addition they did a primer coat because we were changing colors. The job was perfect and delivered 2 days ahead of schedule. The cleanup was meticulous and we were regularly consulted throughout the process on trim which we were also changing. What amazed me at the end was that they washed outside windows. They arrived at 8 every day and worked until 6 and came on Saturday.
