The crew of 5 arrived promptly at 7:30 AM. After moving my furniture and covering just about everything with sheets of thin plastic, the work proceeded quickly and professionally. The job was estimated to take two days. They finished it in 8 hours! Amazing! They were even able to match the paint on the patched areas with existing surfaces painted 15 years ago. Solution Painting is a find! I will use them again and again!

Anyone who uses this company should know that their expertise is speed. I think, in retrospect, they would be best doing rental unit work where landlords are anxious to turn over the properties and quality is a secondary concern. Five men arrived and spent 12 hours here the first day. They would have stayed longer but I needed to have them leave. I went over the paint colors with the foreman who spoke pretty good English. No one else spoke English. They then dispatched someone to go buy the paint. On the second day two men (neither of whom spoke English) came back to finish the job. I used "GOOGLE TRANSLATE" at one point to communicate with one of them. My bathroom shutters had been removed and then put back incorrectly and I needed that corrected. The whole ordeal was very disruptive - I ended up with a film of dust on everything on those two levels of my house. Clean up is not their strength. I found bits of paint, putty, wallpaper in my yard. My front porch was coated with dust. I felt they used flimsy tape and floor coverings to protect against dust. There was no effort to put my rugs or front porch furniture back in place when they left... To be fair, the men were hard working and on task. They did not spend much time on their cell phones. They were, however, not detail oriented and, in my mind, therefore not really professionals. And I was disappointed to find that I was the quality control department. The owner/estimator refused my requests to come and inspect their work. And so they had to come back a third time (2-3 weeks later) to fix a gouge and popped nail that had simply been painted over. I also noticed that, in the kitchen, wood trim had been painted with latex and not oil based paint. Evidently they had run out of the oil based paint. I think it is unacceptable that I should have to point these things out. I had expressly asked the owner/estimator if things like gouges and popped nails would be corrected. I was told they would. Ultimately they were - because of my vigilance. I still notice irregularities each day (door frames not carefully painted...a lack of a second coat in one small (but obvious to me) area. This was NOT skilled labor although these were hard workers and pleasant people. They exercised no judgement nor were capable to give any advice based on experience. They evidenced gross competency. The main strengths of this operation are 1) speed 2) agreeabiltiy to do what you ask while they are present and 3) no requirement for up front payment - owner/estimator says you pay when you are satisified. The inability to communicate with them was a major detriment. This, their skill level, and the lack of any quality control (other than myself) cause me to recommend them only in the most limited circumstances.

I was impressed by Solution Painting from the start. I live in a neighborhood where contractors tend to jack up prices just because of my zip code. Solution gave me a far more reasonable estimate than the other company I considered. The owner, Mario, gave me an estimate on the spot, whereas the other company sent someone and the owner later emailed me an estimate. It made it hard for the owner to specifically answer my questions since he never even saw my property. However, Mario seemed very knowledgeable about what the job would entail. The workers were very professional, friendly and courteous (even to my dog!) The supervisor spoke English well enough for me to communicate with him about the job, and Mario stopped by twice to make sure things were going well. Although this was an exterior job, there is no access to my backyard except by walking through my townhouse. The employees took care to line my floors with plastic to avoid dirtying the floors. I did have to leave my home for a few hours several times during the job, and felt quite comfortable leaving the crew alone here. They seemed very trustworthy, and are Solution Painting's known employees, not subcontractors just retained for that job. That gave me a lot of assurance that my home and possessions would be safe in my absence, and it was. These guys worked very hard, all day. Furthermore, I was really surprised by how much they were willing to do to make sure I was satisfied. For example, I was disappointed that the glossy paint I picked for the front door wasn't glossier, so Solution Painting added another coat to up the gloss for me. Additionally, there was some residue from tape stuck to my basement door from another contractor. The workers from Solution actually sat there and scrubbed it off with paint thinner even though they didn't cause the problem; they just wanted me to be totally satisfied with how my house looked! They also cleaned all of my storm windows before they reinstalled them. I was hugely impressed by Solution Painting. They clearly are dedicated to customer service and quality painting, and our house now looks amazing. I highly recommend them and would hire them again for any painting I need.

We were very pleased with all aspects of the work. they were prompt and courteous and did very good work. They even told us we should use synthetic wood to avoid problems in the future. We had them back in April and they did a great job again, especially Alfredo, Jose, and Ezekiel... very professional. would use again.

Mario came to give me an estimate within a day or two after I called, described the work he would do, gave me an estimate, which I accepted, and we scheduled the painting to be done three days later. The crew, as many as six for part of the time, arrived promptly at 8 a.m., and completed the work by mid-afternoon. The work was done very professionally, the clean-up was excellent, and I was totally satisfied with the result. This company had painted the exterior of my house several years ago, and because I was so pleased with their work then, I called them for this interior painting. I would certainly use them again.

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! These guys are the BEST! Ezekiel was the foreman for the team and he is the AWESOME! It is the second time I've used Solution Painting. We used them earlier this year when we were moving out of our previous house. They were so good, I contacted them to paint our new house (interior) when we moved. Even though they are in VA, I called and asked if they would do our house in MD. Mario came out as before, and gave me an estimate for everything. As soon as we determined what our paint selection colors/sheens would be, I contacted them and made an appt. They were here one week later and completed the task in 5 days (plus a few hours). They showed up on time and with all their supplies. They called to let me know they were on the way. They are all the most respectful, courteous, polite, and hard workers I've met. They cleanly partition off the different rooms as they work on them so as to minimize any dust or debris. They found some loose drywall and immediately fastened it up neatly and patched over the holes. They do excellent preparation of the walls and trim before they actually paint. They also caulk around the moldings and seal everything up. We have 40+ older Pella windows throughout the house that were aging and showed leaks and water damage. We had them paint all the windows ---- a job in and of itself. They look great now! They even washed the windows as they took them out to paint them. They moved all the furniture--including my grand piano-- and pictures and been very careful with everything. Nothing was broken or damaged. Everyone from this company has been absolutely wonderful to work with and they have a GREAT work ethic that is so difficult to find anymore. They put in 12+ hour work days and completed it all in 5 days (plus a few hours). They worked Monday thru Friday and even came out on Sunday to finish off a couple of small items and do the finishing touches. They cleaned up every night and made sure that all rooms were usable each evening. Ezekiel had a crew of up to 14 guys in one day in order to complete this project in one week. Absolutely phenomenal work! There was a lot of dark colors that had to be primed before painting. In fact, the trim on the cathedral ceilings in the large living area was black and it had to be primed as well. Everything looks wonderful and has given us the look we were looking for. I can't say enough good things about them. I would recommend them highly! TRULY PHENOMENAL TEAM---EZEKIEL IS GREAT!!

Very well. My message requesting an estimate was returned quickly and a time/date for the estimate was set also quickly. The work started on time as expected and was completed in a very professional and timely manner. The owner provided a very competitive estimate and spent time telling me about his business and how he operates. He made a number of suggestions that I took that really enhanced the exterior of the house.

It was a positive experience and they were responsive and came quickly. They did not make a mess and did a good job. They got the job done quickly, their quality was amazing and I will use them again in the future.

The original estimate had been given by the owner whose gruff manner put me off. I went thru with the bid because of the strong reviews given by Angie's List and Checkbook. The 3-man crew who arrived at my house was headed by a pleasant and efficient team lead who was joined by two other crewmen. Two rooms needed repair, sanding and repainting. Each stage was completed thoroughly and systematically before proceeding onto the next. At one point, I requested more plastic over another area recently treated, and no objection was made, the crew was completely accomodating. At the end of the project, which was finished between 8 am and 4 pm that day, the two rooms never looked better, even though I had used professional painters in the past. It impressed me that the crew really cared to see the customer pleased with the quality of work. The next paint job in my house will be done by Solution Painting. The quality and efficiency are there. They were not cheap, but they are worth the money.

Excellent work, timely, clean. Solution Painting had previously painted the outside of our home and they were the first company I thought to call. Would highly recommend them!

It was very easy scheduling an appointment for the owner to come out and estimate the cost of repairs. I was dealing with a tight timeline, so they were willing to work around my schedule for the estimate and the work itself. The crew showed up on time and I went through what needed to be done with them. I had thought the job would take at least 2 days, but they got it all done in about 9 hours. The new wall looks great, like it hadn't even had a problem. There was an issue with the paint color since I had unknowingly given them two different colors, but they straightened it out. The crew did the job to my satisfaction and my place looks great! (They even worked through the slight earthquake.) I'd definitely call them again!

Solution Painting, Inc.'s bid came in approximately $10,000 below a competitor's. We were nervous that the quality of the work might not be as good, but decided to rely on the positive Angie's list reviews for the company. The reviews were right - Solution Painting did a fantastic job. They sanded most of the siding, removed paint around the windows and from the doors, caulked where necessary, and even cleaned our windows. The workmen are timely, respectful, and incredibly hard working. Our house looks great - we have received numerous compliments already and several neighbors have even requested the name of our painters. We will use Solution Painting for all of our future painting needs.

The team was very punctual, cleaned up as they went along and before they left and handled everything to my satisfaction. I would definitely use again and recommend them.

He was in a rush and really didn't take time to talk through the work we needed done. He repeated to me over and over again that he was the best- but was not able to articulate on why. The price that was quoted was the most expensive and least detailed. My questions were treated as though they were silly and irrational.

Solution Painting was excellent and very professional. They know their stuff. When they had to replace the drywall, they sectioned off the part of the house that was not being painted so that the dust particles were kept to a minimum in those areas. Their paint job was beaufully executed. I thought the job would take 3 days, but they came with about 9 men and finished the job in one 12-hour day. They moved the furniture and covered it, and when the job was done, they replaced the furniture to its original position. I have 5 skylights, and some are very high. They painted the skylight areas beautifully, and at the end of the day when I was doing a walkthrough with them, there was one skylight area where the area they primed still showed through, and they painted it again. The work was beautifully done.

The workers were top-notch - punctual, businesslike, hardworking, friendly. They offered us the best price for the comprehensive type of work that they did - sanding the walls, applying the base, then painting 2 stories of a 3-story townhouse, including 2 landings and stairway bannisters. They even cut the carpet at the baseboards where they were painting (we were going to remove the carpeting, anyway). Only problem for me was that I asked the point man to buy me the low VOC paint, but he strongly disagreed with my choice and said that low VOC was a meaningless term. He totally discounted my argument in favor of using low VOC paint. So instead of using the Behr Premium Plus I requested, he used something from Duron where he got a discount from the paint company. I decided to go with his choice so as to use a good company at a good price.

Really pleased with the results. The owner was prompt in giving me a quote and the crew painted over a weekend where I left the house open to them. The paint job was great and very professional looking. The price, while high, didn't seem to be too out of line with what other companies charge around in the metro DC area. My only complaint is that while working, the crew turned up the air conditioning and didn't turn it down when they left, leaving the a/c running all weekend. They also left some of the bathrooms in a somewhat questionable condition (use your imagination). That's why I gave them a B in Professionalism. Still, I'd use this company again, just would make sure someone's around to keep an eye on them. Update: (Sep 2012) I'm lowering the Quality to "B" after discovering that Solution Painting simply painted over many nail pops in my ceiling. They should have brought them to my attention...now they will have to repaired and repainted.

From start to finish, our experience with Solution Painting has been exceptional. As the above description suggests, we did a substantial amount of work. Mario completed the estimate quickly and the final cost was exactly as agreed. The work was scheduled about three weeks after receiving the estimate. Mario described his expectation and commitment that every job will be completed to the highest standard and every customer will be completely satisfied. He certainly hit the mark with our job. Alfredo and his large crew arrived exactly as agreed when scheduling the job. They worked cleanly, efficiently and tirelessly for two almost 12-hour days. They protected our landscaping and hardscape in every work area. They did a substantial amount of sanding and caulking, making sure all the prep-work was completed before the painting and staining began. They kept the work areas clean throughout the job and completely cleaned up after the work was finished. They even vacuumed all the walk and patio areas. And while caulking the windows and doors, they also washed the exterior glass and screens, and that alone amounted to 60 doors and windows. The finished product looks outstanding. It is exactly what we expected from Solution and we are completely satisfied. We would very highly recommend Solution for any painting need and we certainly will use them again for any painting needs, exterior and interior.

It was one of the best experiences I have had with a service company - excellent.

Half of the ceiling in our above-garage playroom (22' by 22') collapsed, spreading insulation everywhere. The intial cleanup of scattered drywall ceiling and insulation was quickly done by ServPro, but we needed to arrange for ceiling repair and repainting. After checking Angie's List for drywall and painting contractors, I selected Solution Painting and two other contractors to get price quotes. Mario, the owner, showed up on time to inspect the room and quickly gave me a very competitive price quote. The work team showed up right on schedule, two weeks later. The job was completed in two days - old ceiling and insulation removal, new ceiling and insulation installation, priming, painting, etc. We are completely satisfied with the professional performance and quality of the work, and will definitely call Solution Painting again.

I recently purchased a 22 year-old townhouse that needed considerable work. Solution Painting responded quickly to my request for an estimate. Their price was the middle of three, but I was impressed by the attention to detail they showed walking through the house and pointing out ceiling cracks and the like. On the scheduled day for job start, they were there promptly at 8:00 with a large crew and all the paint in colors I had chosen. After they had started I asked them to also paint the interiors of the closets. They did the extra work at a reasonable additional cost and still finished on schedule. Everyone was courteous, efficient, and professional. I was quite impressed. Of course I would definitely use them again in the future.

I found them off Angie?s list. I liked their price which was fabulous. They did a really good job. They were able to match the paint from a different company. They were quick. The guy that came to give the estimate could have been a little more personable. This guy did not stand out quite as much as the other companies I got quotations from. When they left after work they left a lot of dust. Everything was pretty much covered with dust. I will use them again and I have recommended them to others.

They were slightly more expensive ($25) than other quotes, but were extremely flexible, fast, and accomodating. This work was done on a rental property where I live out of state. They were able to coordinate with the renters, give an estimate in the evening, and work while the renters were away without a problem. I would absolutely use them again.

Ezekiel and his crew from Solution Painting did a tremendous job at our home today. A previous bathroom remodeler did a poor job taping/mudding/finishing the ceiling drywall in a bathroom and given the normal moisture that accumulates, soon multiple lines/cracks were showing, tape coming off, etc. Solution's crew were consummate professionals and three guys worked non-stop for about ten hours making it look perfect, literally like brand new. The previous remodeler hadn't sunk the screws properly where the vent fan was installed, for example, so Solution removed it and re-installed it correctly so the finish across the entire ceiling is smooth and uniform. I wasn't sure a painting company was the right call, i.e., I feared I'd have to get a drywall guy and then painters, but Solution absolutely pulled it all off. Mario the owner is a perfectionist and to be honest his social skills are possibly not the smoothest but bear with his perfectionist streak and you'll be very happy in the end. They're also not the cheapest but when you see how hard they work (and how long a genuinely great job can take) you'll know you got your money's worth. I'm a federal agent fixing up our place before going overseas and renting it for the first time, so just wanted to mention that if you have a similar goal of fixing up a place to show, if you need any drywall or painting work as part of it, give Solution a call.

I can't say enough how happy we are with the work. They did an incredible job at a good price and were able to finish in two days (by bringing about 9 people in to do the work). They work quickly and efficiently. We met them in the morning on the first day and within half an hour they had already moved furniture and taped and tarped the floor. Considering that they scraped, sanded, patched, AND did our kitchen cabinets in two days, it's pretty impressive. Our house walls are plaster and had cracks and waves in it but they sanded and patched everything so that it looks great now. They also scraped our trim and molding and made it look as good as new. Mario (the owner) and Alfredo (the project head) were easy to work with, communicated with us if there was any confusion about colors or paint, and were overall just very helpful. I should also note that my husband and I had painted a couple of rooms ourselves and didn't do nearly as good a job as Solution. They actually went over our work and cleaned it up free of charge. They also repaired a broken screen on our porch and painted a second coat on our front door for free. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone.
