Appointment for an estimate was schedule within a day or two of my call. The company estimator/owner Mario arrived on time and reviewed what I wanted done. I had considered doing only part of this job because of cost and the inconvenience of doing it all at one time, but decided to take advantage of a lower rate he offered for doing both at once. Work was scheduled for about 10 days later. We received full instructions - written, and by phone - about the process, and the prep we needed to do (removing all small items, wall art, bric-a-brac, the contents of drawers/cupboards in any furniture that was going to be moved), as well as choosing our paint colors and informing the firm of our choices several days ahead of the job. On the appointed day, a team of four showed up as scheduled and reviewed the job, then began removing furniture, as well as all shutters, window coverings, light switch covers, window and door hardware, and covering the items that couldn't be removed completely (chandeliers). Surface preparation was VERY thorough. When painting began, the size of the team ebbed and flowed, depending apparently on whether workers from other jobs nearby were available to assist -- at one point there were 9 painters at work in the house. The crew chief was responsive to our concerns, answered questions; the crew pretty much cleaned up at the end of each day. Ultimately the job was finished in one day less than the original estimate (I forget now if it was five days or four). Afterward we did find several spots where paint had leaked behind masking tape, leaving small deposits on our (unpainted) shoe molding; we called, and a man came back the very next day to resolve those to our satisfaction. I delayed doing this review (for work done almost 10 months ago) because for major jobs, I think it's good to see how the work lasts. In this case we were especially concerned about the ceiling over the two-story foyer, a hard-to-reach area where nail pops and scrunched-up edge tape at the ceiling-wall joint were evident. This was one of the primary reasons for our decision to get painting done. I am pleased to say that Solution Painting's repairs to those areas have held well, with no evidence of recurrence - and even survived the August 2011 earthquake, which shook the house pretty well. Solution prefers to acquire the paint (don't buy your paint ahead!), and uses a certain specific brand, but will use most other brands - for an additional price - if you demand them. Check with Mario during the estimate for details. This was the one small glitch - the paint company they use had recently undergone a merger so were in the process of combining two brands of paint/paint types/colors. In one room, we found the "semi-gloss" paint for the window/door trim dried with a very grainy. rough surface almost like sandpaper. We questioned this and the foreman showed us the paint can - clearly labeled "semigloss" but a different paint name, even though from the same manufacturer. I don't suggest this was Solution's "fault," it wasn't -- but this argues for choosing your own brand, and paying the extra cost, if you're concerned. Overall, a great job, excellent results, very quick and timely.

We have an older row house and we wanted to have several interior rooms and hallways repainted. Mario came out right away and gave us an estimate for skim coating and painting the walls and ceilings. Once we signed the contract, they were able to schedule the job very quickly and once on site, they finished the job in three days. The crew did a good job of moving the furniture and shelves (and putting them back). The house looks transformed and we will definitely consider them for some exterior work that we are planning to have done.

They are very good. They did an excellent job.

It did take a little while to get a response to our initial estimate request; however, that is the only negative thing I could possibly say about this company. The work they did, even though it took an extra half day, was simply beautiful and done with a great amount of care. From the prep work, the caution in ensuring there were no spills on the wooden floors/carpeting, etc., was very impressive. They obviously care a great deal and it shows in their work. We chose this company based on other reports here, and I really thought that what we paid was well worth it. It took them approximately three days and they worked fairly long hours, too.

His name is Mario. He came out and gave me a reasonable estimate. He was punctual. He did a very good job and did it very quickly.

Called on this company based on their very good rating with Angies List. They responded quick to my query... gave them a call, and set up an appointment for tonight at 6:30. They did not show up, and never called me to let me know why they weren't showing up. Of course the number that they have available is directed to an answering machine, so I couldn't even talk to anyone. Simply put... no show... no call.... will not do business with. Unfortunate I received this type of service with an "A" rated Angies List company.

The estimate was clear and described in detail the repairs that needed to be done. The crew of 7 arrived on time each day. The work started on Wednesday December 27th and was completed by mid-day Friday December 30th. The first day, Nadia stopped by to introduce herself and find out if we had any questions or concerns. Every day after the crew completed their work, they cleaned up the worksite and the affected area. Most imperfections in the walls were repaired prior to them beginning to pain. No paint stains were left on the hardwood floor. The quality of the work was excellent and we would highly recommend Solutions Painting to others! We are planning to use them for our basement.

These guys are great - have used this company 3 times in one year. They installed 2 bathroom mirrors (provided by us) and retrofitted them to 2 connecting walls that were too large for the mirrors. They also installed new bathroom lighting fixtures and painted the bathroom walls. In addition, they touched up stairwell railings and floor boards that they had painted on a previous visit but that had been damaged by floor installers. The price was the most reasonable of several companies contacted.

The painting crew were great. Solution painting was the only company of the several I interviewed who even considered ( and then did) remove the shutters before painting them.The job was done quickly and neatly and they even washed all my windows to include my storm windows.

They responded promptly to our phone call, made a reasonable estimate, performed the work on time and within budget.

Work crew was great. Arrived on time and worked 10 hour days for three days. Courteous, careful, and highly skilled. Did little extras such as helped to move furniture. Demolition work very dirty and dusty. Prep work included covering all floors and sealing off adjoining rooms with plastic to reduce dust in those areas.cleaned up daily to greatest extent possible and really well at completion. Helped to move furniture back in place. Cost reasonable for amount of work that had to be done. I have two more projects planned for the spring and will definitely use this company to do those projects. Very satisfied.

Mario arrived on time for the estimate and clearly described in detail how he would make repairs. I was impressed by his explanations of how they would fix the cracks, which was my biggest concern. His crew of 3 arrived on time and went to work by prepping and sealing each area. All the imperfections in the walls were expertly repaired prior to them beginning to paint. They worked quickly and efficiently. In the two days they were here there wasn?t one drop of paint on the floors or any kitchen cabinets or appliances (since they sealed them with plastic too). The quality of their work was excellent and I would highly recommend them to others!

We were very pleased with the professionalism of the team and the attention to detail. They did a great job preparing the surfaces for work (sanding and priming where appropriate) and and applying the new paint. When the workmen found that our old vinyl shutters had cracked and could not be repainted, they let me know right away. I had to special order the shutters, and for a small fee they came back later to paint and hang the replacement shutters. I'd definitely hire Solution Painting again for any future interior or exterior painting jobs.

The work was performed promptly and the quality was excellent. All the imperfections in the walls were fixed prior to painting, a discriminator in my mind. I have already recommended Solutions Painting to some friends.

They got the work done in one day and did a pretty good job of cleaning up. There was a small amount of paint left on a sidewalk which when asked, they returned promptly and removed. Painting was well done. Only problem was getting the payment processed, possibly due to a storm that apparently flooded their office.

They provided an estimate and when the time came to do the work were punctual and highly professional. They cleaned up the worksite and the affected area looks like new. I would def use them again and have recommended to others need to have water damage repaired.

They arrived on time, took less time to complete the job than they had predicted and did a great job of cleaning up afterward. I would definitely recommend and/or hire again.

Mario scheduled an appointment to come give us an estimate. Showed up on time, walked us through what it would entail, and provided a fair price for the services. We also looked at 4 other A-rated providers on Angie's and picked Solution for approach and price point. His crew of 3 arrived about an hour late, but got to work immediately by prepping and sealing everything in the kitchen so as not to have issues during the painting process. They worked quickly, efficiently. and though we needed to go over a spot or 2 again that was missed,they did not leave until i was satisfied with the quality of work. The only drawback was that of the 3 crew members, only the crew lead spoke some English, which made it difficult to explain somethings upfront. Example: our fridge door was duct taped shut for the day, and our kitchen was sealed off with plastic curtains to prevent dust, etc. from getting out of the work zone. IT would have been helpful to know this upfront, as opposed to once they had started on the painting, and I needed to get lunch! As long as Solution can work on some of the on-site communication, I have no issues recommending them to anyone.

This was all done at my father's (old and neglected) house in Bethesda. Mario came out last week to give an estimate for the work. He was very prompt and professional, and the quote was great. The following week three workers arrived 15 minutes ahead of schedule. They were very focused and the entire project was completed in 7 hours. They did beautiful work. The paint job was clean, no drips or paint on the glass. The gutters had been hanging off of the roof and evidently hadn't been cleaned in years. The Solution guys cleared out the leaves etc, screwed the gutters into the roof, and then wiped them down with a cleaning solution. The work areas were left completely clean. My father was relieved and I was very pleased.

Mario Vega and his crew could immediately see what was needed and envisioned what the result should be. He explained that all he cares about is in doing ultimate quality work. We were delighted to hear that they are obsessed with quality, so we got them going. They more than exceeded our expectations. The result was so good it is hard to believe it actually happened. Walls that had been like the skin of an orange for years all ended up smooth as glass. Although we know where they were working over patched drywall, there is no sign of any patching -- it is all perfectly smooth, and I mean perfectly. They achieved that result by doing the mudding with the right materials, tools, very bright lights, and skilled craftsmen, and by going over the walls many times, over and over. They did several layers of paint, executed beautifully, even artistically. They did a quite complicated crown molding job perfectly. Every member of the crew was a perfect gentleman and they worked together very well. They protected the rest of the house perfectly and completely cleaned up when they stopped around 5 each day. When we are ready for the next phase of the work, we will want them to do it, for sure. No need to consider anyone else. The kitchen, dining room, and right side of the entry hall are gorgeous. Our friends who had been in our house before couldn't believe their eyes. The cost was low for the amount and quality of work done. Having this happen showed us how important Angie's List is. Thank you so much for making it possible for people like us with limited knowledge of the work to obtain great results at moderate cost.

They arrived on time, went directly to work and finished the job quickly. They were careful not to damage the stenciled ceiling and repaired the plaster walls to perfection! I was very pleased with the result and will certainly hire Painting Solutions again.

This company was highly recommended on Angie's List. They did a thorough and professional job, with one exception. Our large house, which was completely painted on the outside, including repairs of old wood, pressure washing, etc, was painted the wrong color. It is too long to describe what went wrong here, except that our communications with the foreman, who changed during the job, were apparently misunderstood. The color was off by several shades and values, but my husband liked it better. I did not. I guess the moral of the story is that even with professionals who are well recommended, make sure that you are all on the same page and really understand each other before moving forward. My greatest complaint was having different foremen on the same job at different times- that was due to the torrential rains we had during the course of the job and was what contributed to the misunderstanding about paint color. I still can hardly believe it.

Mario came to do the estimate of the house and after briefly going room-by-room, suggested we just do whole house. He did this nicely and professionally, and - as soon as he said it - i realized he was right, and this was simpler. The estimate was 100% wall paper down, 100% interior of house painted - trim, walls, ceilings. I confirmed the start date with him and he agreed, more importantly to commit to the end date. The first day, they arrived late due to traffic, but called shortly after their scheduled arrival time to let me know. Upon arrival, the lead painter did a walk through of the house with me and reviewed paint colors. This went smoothly and he asked good clarifying questions. We also exchanged cell phone numbers and a key to permit easier start/finish with our work schedule. Work commenced and was moving smoothly, until day two, when they did not arrive. This was explained later with a call from the office indicating the crew was involved in an accident on the way to the job and needed the day to rest. Understandable. They were very clear that this would not affect the finish date because they knew i had dependencies and said they would work through the weekend if they had to. And wow did they ever. On Saturday there was a crew of at least 5 there; Sunday they worked a full day with 9 people all working simultaneously, including the owner. I was impressed. They finished a day early and while i was expecting to be impressed, it was beautiful. Show quality painting, no drips, no smears, no oops. Later, the owner came back to do a walk through with me to make sure i was satisfied and get any comments. I can (and already have) easily recommend them and, when and if needed, use them again. Highly recommended.

They were superb...absolutely! They performed well above expecations contrary to another Angie List company who we had to fire the year before for poor performance and not - in anyway - meeting expectations quality-wise nor customer support (see our comment for the House Doctors). The key differences, which we appreciated were management involvement - who showed immediately and stayed involved until the end - and the actual performance of their personnel - we couldn't be happier...what a difference from House Doctors. The price charged was absolutely reasonable...the performance was acceptional...and we will definitely use them again. WE TOTALLY RECOMMEND SOLUTION PAINTING...a big "high 5!"

Solution painting did a FANTASTIC job!!! WOW!!! is an understatement! They put plastic everywhere and over everything, and intricately over my customed cabinets and furniture. They hand sanded the walls and areas which kept the dust from spreading all over the place verses using a machined sander. They smoothed out the walls and orginal plastering imperfections. My walls are perfect from whatever angle you look at them, as opposed to before you could see the wall bulge abit here and there. My baseboards look so good I deceided not to replace them. I was a little hesitant on using Sherman Williams paint, but after they primed it just right, I got the eye poping colors I wanted in both natural and artificial light. My effort took about 4.5 days to complete. I was in the house while the work was being done. The workers were clean, and worked digiligently, there wasn't alot of joking around and no disasters of paint spills or splatters anywhere. The broken plastered areas are gone and finally a thing of the past. I marvel at the workmanship performed when my recessed lights hit’s the new colors throughout. I am very impressed and I will most definitely use them again. I highly recommended them to others. It is truly an outstanding job for the right price.
