Solution Painting worked a miracle!! The job was to paint a 1-BR apartment (in a Cleveland Park, DC building that was constructed in 1951). The walls of the apartment were in horrendous condition. Deep cracks & gouges in the the walls, which are plaster lathe on concrete. Lots of rusted screws embedded in the walls. When Mario gave me the estimate, he noted the terrible condition of the walls and told me not to expect miracles. But a miracle was what his painters performed. The walls of the apartment now look like white velvet. And it was done in just four days.

They put 15 men on the job and completed it all in one day. I had expected a few men for 4 days, but weather might have been a factor in assigning so many workers at once. Great job.

The job went very well. Mario was prompt and provided me with a written estimate immediately. While the estimate was higher than some I had received, when comparing actual work to be done -- the exterior wood was prepped by hand-scraping and sanding and then the entire house was primed by hand, followed by two coats of paint -- it was reasonable. Previous painters I have used did not prepare the wood so thoroughly, spot primed, and sprayed the paint on. The crew arrived on time daily, worked hard, and cleaned everything up each day. Their painting and carpentry workmanship were excellent. Mario came by to assess their progress and answer any questions. I will hire Solution Painting to paint the interior of my home next.

Badly. He was insulting to me.

Solutions gave us a bid for painting that we accepted, but had to postpone when it turned out we had to demolish and replace several sections of ceiling first. We advised the Solutions office well in advance -- no problem. When Mario returned at our request to revise (and--we expected--significantly increase) the original bid, he made the remark that he had been to our house "four times" and exhibited a completely disrespectful attitude. It was in fact his second visit, and since the work needed was now about twice the amount and more complicated than the original work, we thought it was only fair that he see the changes and update the estimate in advance. When I told him that if he felt we were taking advantage of him for some reason, he should feel free to leave -- he turned around and walked out without saying another word. If you don't mind dealing with a company that thinks they are doing you a favor by taking on your work, go ahead and use Solutions. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

They did a great job! They had to plaster the ceiling in our home that had great damage. They painted the entire interior of the home. They were professional and timely.

I was able to schedule an estimate for interior painting of my new (unfurnished) house within days. Following the estimate, I was scheduled the very next week (on a holiday, no less!) A crew of about 20 painters painted nearly 15 rooms in just one day, and a couple of painters came by the day after I called asking for some touch-ups and a few additional add-on requests. I am a satisfied repeat customer.

They did a great job from start to finish.

Our house looks great. I can’t say enough about the professionalism of this company. The owner, Mario, comes out to your house and does the estimates. The crew arrives each day promptly when they say they will. If they are not going to come due to foretasted bad weather, the office calls you in the morning to let you know so you don’t have to hang around waiting for them. Mario takes great pride in the work his company does and wants things done right. They do not cut corners. They stick to their estimate. All the doors and shutters were stripped down to the wood. They repair any rot to door and window frames. The crew does a good job of keeping your lawns and gardens pretty neat during the work. One window screen got punctured during the work but they replaced it quickly with no problems. The last day they were here it started to sprinkle as they were cleaning up. The rain caused some spots on the painted brick work around a garden. They came back the next day to touch it up. We are planning to use them to paint the interior of our house.

Solution Painting was great to work with from start to finish. There was a lot of rain during this period and the person who coordinated the crew's coming and going kept me apprised of the changing schedule. They did such a thorough job, I was amazed. I'm sure they were a far step above many of the painting crews out there. They found areas of rot and replaced the wood, I'm sure other crews would have painted right over them. They paid great attention to detail. For example, they even removed the weather stripping and re installed it so that the job would be precision. They were on time, pleasant, and perfectly tidy and professional. I would definitely recommend this company, and would use them again if I needed to.

Our single family home we had painted was our new home. We gave them 2 days to get the work done. I have hired many many painters in the past 12 years, and done painting myself also. These painters are crazy awesome - they take down every fixture. They nail in nails that are protruding out. The spackle. They sand. The tape what won't be painted. The paint. They clean up after themselves. They vacuum. I mean, it's completely crazy how great of a job they do. There's no way to adequately type up everything they did. They paint inside the closets. They paint all the trim white (if that's what you want; and that's what I want). They took down all curtain rods & put back up the ones that we wanted to be put back up. They move the fridge to paint behind it. On our townhouse, they did all of that and even more - they also repaired a railing that was wobbly. And they replaced screens in some screen doors that desperately needed repairing. For the townhouse, we told them that we needed it done by Friday. They called Sunday night & said because of the nice weather, all the painters needed to be on an outside job & they wouldn't come to our home until later. They showed up (with adequate communication) on Wednesday with a mega team of painters. They did everything - the entire house - on Wednesday and Thursday. My husband was completely astonished! Both of our homes now look entirely and completely new. One for us to live in now for the next decade; the other to sell to someone who will love it for the next decade. :) We are very grateful. I do want to share one thing that wasn't entirely smooth and perfect, and it makes me sad to have to include this. There was a moment when a painter of a different nationality used a term in front of me & he wasn't counting on me understanding the language. I speak a little bit of 5 languages, and I understood this term. I let him know that I understood it; and he looked like a deer in headlights. I told my husband, and my husband told the owner of the company. The owner was furious. Absolutely furious. It is my understanding that the owner did something much more than adequate in taking care of this situation and it will NOT be happening again. I am certain of that. The owner is a class act, and I believe all of the employees are good people, even this other person who had a moment of being misguided. The painters did an outstanding job and we are so grateful to have finally found people who do amazing paint work! These kinds of workers who do painting are very hard to come by. My recommendation: don't skimp and do just one part or an area of your home. If you can, do the whole home. Seriously. Whatever they don't paint will look so much worse if you don't want it painted. We had our Master Bedroom painted about 3 months before these folks showed up - by a different company. And it now looks like crap by comparison (sadly). The Solutions Painting folks would have had it look like a sparking new room instead of the mediocre painting (which I was happy with before I saw the way Solutions did the rest of the home!) that it looks like now.

After reading other A-rated reviews on Angie's List I called Solution Painting for an estimate. Mario showed up on time, was professional and very forthcoming. The estimate was quite reasonable and I scheduled the work. The crew showed up right on time, were very polite, and did a fabulous job. I couldn't be happier with the results. They had to work around some large furniture and rugs, and moved everything back into place when they were finished. They did a great job of cleanup, and did it all in one day! I would definitely use them again, and feel very confident in recommending them to friends.

I used this company in the past and I loved them. They did a great job and their price was much less than the other quotes I had received. I was working with them about a year and my experience was terrible. It took months to get a response from them. When we finally had a date set up for them to come out and paint the drivers got into a car accident so they didnt' show. I was completely fine with this. The initially handled it really well and were going to give me an additional discount for the inconvenience. So I reached out to them to reschedule the appointment. Nobody ever got back to me even after numerous phone calls and email. It's almost a year later and I still haven't heard from them.

I was pleased with the level of effort put toward prepping for the paint job. I grew up in the Midwest helping my father paint. Solutions Painting is the only east coast company I have found to meet my expectations on quality. They scraped thoroughly, even removed the shutters to prep properly and applied three coats of paint. Six months later and my home looks fabulous. While more expensive than other companies I expect that I will not have to repaint for several extra years because of the quality of the prep work. My only criticism is that I did not think to remind them of the lead paint and they did not take measures to capture the old paint chips and dispose of properly.

Never knew it could be so easy! Amazed what Mario and his team accomplished in just a day and a half. They removed wallpaper from our family room, sanded, prepped, primed and painted the walls. Also painted the ceiling, trim, and door. They were punctual, careful and cleaned up beautifully. Mario was also able to recommend a installer for our new flat screen tv, and he did a great job also. We also appreciated their quick email responsiveness (Rosy). Thanks again!

I would use these guys again in a heartbeat. Out of 4 quotes from quality companies these guys had the best price. Backoffice support was helpful and responsive. Painting crew came right on schedule and worked hard to complete the job efficiently. The prep work and painting was done with painstaking detail and the cleanup was unbelievable. These guys even vacuumed the flower beds! We are very happy with the work.

They were absolutely fabulous - on time, professional and efficient. The crew was extremely hardworking, and they did a thorough clean-up before leaving. Mario was great in advising us on what kind and finish of paint to use, and he recommended coordinating with our flooring provider so we could stage the painting to be done between the demo of our old ceramic tile and the installation of the new hardwood. Genius! We highly recommend Solution Painting; we have already mentioned them to friends, and we will definitely give them a call when we get around to redoing our living and dining rooms.

The crews were on time and did a great job. The work was done timely, professionally, and on budget. They were flexible with the dates for scheduling the job and we appreciated that very much. Solutions painting did a great job and we would hire them again.

Definitely the best we've ever had. They were very accommodating in terms of scheduling, arrived on time, did a fabulous job and were most professional. We had to rearrange the schedule because the countertop made mistakes and had to recut the entire thing. They worked with us to reschedule to meet our needs. We plan to sell our house within the next two years and will hire them to do the painting prior to putting it on the market. Would recommend to anyone.

Solution Painting did an A++++ job from the beginning to the end my experience was extremely pleased, easy, and professionals. Staring with making the appointment with Rosy from the office it couldn?t have being easier, She is always easy to get in touch with and extremely attentive and polite attitude, she schedule my appointment for the next following day were I meet with Mario (The Owner), he arrived on schedule, he not only provide me with all the information regarding our project prospective, but he provide us with suggestions and with the right affordable estimate in the spot, and nothing prevent us from doing business with Solution Painting, I immediately felt comfortable working with Mario and his honestly and I contacted the office just to find out the next available starting date and Rosy again assist me with a lot of professionalism and we were on their schedule as a starting date of not even a week of lead time, she provide us with all the information we needed to know as of starting preparation and were to go to do our color selection, they also have an in house Color designer Nadia and she meet with us at the house and after seeing it we meet at one of the Sherwin Williams store to help select colors and providing us with excellent ideas, the starting morning the crew of painter came on time from day one till completion of the project, there was not one but two foreman's responsible for the crew at all times (Ezequiel and Daniel) and the communication was excellent with the crew of painters they were a professional crew of painters very diligent and respectful of our home and family members they really provided with the best quality service we couldn?t found in our area they focus on quality work providing us with a 101% satisfaction in the job performed. They did a great preparation by protecting our furniture?s and floors, they prepared the walls, ceilings, doors and closets they sanded down the walls, spackled over all cracks they took down all the light fixtures, light and electrical covers, blind, curtains, and every single nail from the walls they probably double the amount of preparation required before the walls are ready to be painted the result is amazing the ceilings, walls trims, doors and closets look brand new. They finished in exactly the time that they said they would finish because we had family members arriving and all areas were left cleaned, They sure do it right the first time! I will highly recommend Solution Painting/ Mario with the highest grading for the quality of painting work done in our home and I plan to use them in the future and recommended for all my Friends and Neighbor?s for all painting project needs either Interior or Exterior. The service was great. Mario came to give the quote and his crew showed up the next day. He was willing to work with me on the budget. They were all prompt, friendly, and cleaned up well. It took about three days to completed the job and I pleased with the results.

Mario and his crew arrived on time and were very professional and a pleasure to work with. The crew fixed the drywall imperfections and sanded before painting. The Foyer looks so much better now that it has paint! Mario and his crew were awesome and I would definitly use them in the future.

First, I apologize to Mario, I thought I had sent in a review when the work was done! After further investigation, I never finalized my review. I found Solutions Painting and Mario Vega on Angie's List. My friend first had him paint her 100 year old home in Alexandria and RAVED about him. I called Mario and they setup an appointment and arrived on time. We have a 3-story home that was mostly contractor white paint and about 4,200 square feet. We had him paint many parts of the home: - White Oak handrails were sanded, primed, painted and sealed with a black oil paint - New crown molding in family, master and office were caulked and painted - Entire basement was painted (over 1500 square feet) - 20 foot foyer was painted - 2 of our 4 bathrooms were painted - Living, Family and Dining Room were painted The team spent 5 days at my home. If I could give them an A+ I would. I am extremely particular (and believe I am a good painted) and my husband is a Marine (read: excessive detail oriented). Mario arrived every day ON TIME, he and his team were efficient, polite, quiet and respectful of my home. I work at home and they did their best to not disturb me. Not once did they leave a single footprint in any area of my home. It was actually fairly amazing to watch the crew move all of the furniture into the middle of the room, cover it with plastic, mask off the areas needed and paint. They were so fast it was unbelieveable. I had multiple colors painted and they never once made a room/color mistake. One crew member spent 5 DAYS on just the railing. STORY: The light Oak handrails had mushroom wood plugs in where the screws where securing the railing to the staircase. I told them I thought they looked cheap. The worked suggested pulling all of them out, securing the screws and filling the holes with wood putty. Now you can't tell they were ever there. All this with eagerness and politeness - I was very impressed. STORY: The metal front door side-lights were at one time covered with curtains that left holes in the metal surround. The worker suggested filling the holes with metal putty, sanding and painting. They look perfect. Never a hesitation that it would be an additional cost. STORY: Half of the basement ceiling was accidentally painted (and not quoted) because frankly, they were so fast that I wasn't able to correct the error as I was on a conference call. When the error was discovered, Mario listened to my side of the story, talked to his workers and ultimately did not charge me for the painting. I am sure it would have been a $350 error which he took care of. UPDATE: 2 years later were are prepping our home for sale and called Mario back. He remembered us, spent adequate time breaking up our needs into 3 quotes and will be returning next week to start on another $10K worth of exterior and interior painting. We would not have called him back without additional quotes if we didn't completely trust him. AND - he showed up ON TIME in the middle of one of our famous snow storms. There was 8 inches of new snow on the ground but he rang the doorbell exactly on time. Further, Mario Vega is a good man - he treats his workers well, honors his customers and keeps his word. Do not hesitate to call Solutions Painting.
