Description of Work: Installed a Generac 20 kw standby generator including new cooper pipe connection to natural gas supply Quality Electric and their plumbing subcontractor were efficient, neat, on time, with excellent workmanship ! After two months, they returned for a service call within an hour and immediately took care of the unit under warranty. Once again, they were pleasant and genuinely interested in taking good care of their customer. I plan to use their services again without hesitation . |

Description of Work: Called on 5/1 to schedule an appt. for troubleshooting/fixing electrical problem in our kitchen. 48 hours later, no return phone call. It does not seem unreasonable to expect a response in that timeframe.

Our office is open 7am to 3:30pm Monday thru Friday. We do not use voicemail, so someone always answers the phone during the day. I don't know what time of day you called, but the only time someone does not answer the phone is at night, so to give this review based on talking to a answering machine, if that is the case, does not seem to be a fair review. If a message had been received they are always returned the next business day, which is stated in the message.

Description of Work: I had a dimmer switch that was no longer functioning. There were two switches on the same outlet; one worked (the regular light switch) and one didn't (the dimmer), so it was not a situation where the entire outlet was faulty. On the positive side, I called Quality on a Tuesday and they were able to send some technicians out on Thursday of the same week. I had first called another electrician, but their first window of availability was not for two weeks. So, the two day turnaround from Quality was much appreciated. The individual with whom I originally spoke promised that the technicians would be there in the afternoon and, sure enough, they arrived on time. In addition, the repair literally took only 10 minutes to perform, so there was a quick turnaround from that perspective as well. The two technicians who arrived were polite and went right to work as soon as I directed them to the switch. Based upon a read through of Angie's list reviews and friends/family who have enlisted the help of electricians, I anticipated a particular price range. Needless to say, I was not expecting that a 10 minute repair of one light switch would cost $195. The materials (aka the dimmer switch) cost $60, and the service cost was $135. With that in mind, I will look for another electrician the next time around whose prices are not quite so inflated.

Description of Work: Quality replaced a burned out bathroom exhaust fan motor, removed old (and still live) cables from an old addition to my house, and upgraded an ancient ungrounded wall socket. I've used Quality before and have always been satisifed with their work. This time was no exception. The technicians arrived past the estimated time, but not unreasonably late. Once here, they worked quickly and efficiently. I would have no hesitation about using them again (and given the age of my house is, no doubt will be calling them at some point).

Description of Work: Professional, courteous and did a great job. Installed a thermostat for a radiant heated floor and installed a 15 amp circuit in the fuse box. Showed up on time, and did the work quickly, cleaned-up after themselves and we're very helpful explaining the operation of the programmable thermostat. Will use again...

Description of Work: Had a brown-out on half of the lights in my house. Called Quality Electric Service (QES )because of their high Angies List rating. Rather than simply sending someone out for the service fee, the QES person asked me some specific questions, diagnosed [correctly] the problem as probaly a Dominion Electric power line problem, and referred me to Dominion, even giving me the Dominion phone number. Within a couple of hours Dominion fixed the problem [for free] which was that one leg of the 240 volt line was not working. The QES person said that if Dominion concluded the problem was inside my house to call QES back and they would send a technician. QES displayed high professionalism and exceptional customer service. QES will be the first electrician company I will call in the future the next time I have any electrical work to have done.

Description of Work: Had a very hard time communicating with this vendor. Came highly regarded by Angie's List, but I found myself feeling like I was being interviewed for the work. As if, I was working for him. In essence, I was told he would not come a certain day, then unexpectedly showed up. The reason I write, was he was extremely rude and it was unnerving dealing with this company... Beware...on the estimating side...it may not always work out as planned.

The member phoned our office on Monday November 7, 2011 to request a free estimate for wiring due to water damage. The house is vacant and he could not meet us, but offered to leave a key in the mailbox for the following day Tuesday November 8, 2011 or Wednesday November 9, 2011. He stated he really needed the estimate Tuesday night if possible he was told that we would make an effort to go by Tuesday for the estimate. When the estimator arrived there was no key in the mailbox I phoned the member he was very rude and was not interested in resolving the issue and hung the phone up abruptly.

Description of Work: Replaced a dead attic fan. Over the phone they gave me an estimate and explanation of what they would do, factors that would affect the work (could they use they old vent?). The electrician who did the work showed both what he put in and would he took out and pointed out dates of manufacture, also explained how the fan thermostat worked.

Description of Work: I had my power go out at 12midnight. Tried to obtain emergency service. Even though advertising say they have 24 hour service. No one answered the phone. Remove their advertising of 24 hour emergency service as misleading.

Excellent experience.
Description of Work: I called Quality Electric and Harry was able to solve my problem over the phone. He could have scheduled a service visit and charged me for a call out and labor, but he first tried to help me without a dispatch and it worked! Quality Electric will be the first electrician that I call for any electrical work I need done.
