The process was very easy. The bid was for 3,499 plus $64 for each piece of replaced plywood. The total square footage was about 590sq ft. 15 year warranty too. It was just remarkably easy to deal with them, the job was done professionally in every sense. I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone that wants their roof done.
Description of Work: I have an addition that is a hipped roof but even so is a very low slope and it was leaking. Steven from Polytech was direct and did everything I could ask of for an estimate. I was considering doing the rest of the roof but didn't need to do it so I wanted the estimate to contain options for doing the whole roof if this impacted the price and splitting the roofing job up. He also took up very little of my time and didn't subject me to an endless sales pitch. The quotes I got all suggested at a minimum doing water and ice shield on the whole roof or going with a product like EPDM or TPO. I had some friends and family that have had Polytech do their roofs many years ago (still leak free and looking good) so I went with them as they had good references, were very professional to work with and were competitive on price.

Sometime after the roofing job, my roof started leaking around a skylight collar that his crew installed. I had people look at it and they concluded that it was a problem with the shingle installation. The problem has worsened with the passage of time to the point where I have to put pans to catch the water after a rain storm. Mr. Ko refuses to honor his co-called "10-year workmanship warranty." He claims that the source of the problem is that I tried to fix the leak. Simple logic says that I wouldn't have tried to fix the leak unless there already was a leak, hence my efforts were not the source of the problem. On a recent visit, he now claims that he didn?t install the skylight. It is going to cost hundreds of dollars to fix the leak.
Description of Work: Mr. Steven Ko, President of Polytech Construction VA, contracted to install a complete new roof on my home. Within a year, all of the shingles all curled up on one corner (the same lower left corner on all shingles). He refused to accept responsibility and blamed the manufacturer, Certainteed. I have a letter from Certainteed stating that the shingles were not manufactured with any defects. Mr. Ko refused to replace the shingles.
