Description of Work: Cleaned dryer vent that had not been cleaned for at least 8 years. It turned out to be a bit more work than expected because the ducting was so long and they had to open it up half-way to get all lint out. While they had the vent open, they re-routed ducting to have one less corner and therefore less chance of lint build-up for no extra charge.

Description of Work: Contacted them due to a strong smell of smoke in house when using fireplace. They cleaned the chimney and then sent a video camera down that found that the flue had cracked and had a hole in it. Work involved was to reline chimney, remove old cast iron damper, replace with a top mounted damper (easy to use and much more efficient in sealing when closed) and to repair the crown on the chimney. Crew showed up on time, did the work and cleaned up behind themselves. I'm very happy with the work and highly recommend.

We have recommended their services to friends on two occasions. Both thought they were in need of expensive repairs. Phoenix inspected the sites and notified the customers that such repairs were indeed NOT necessary. No charge was assessed for the service.

Description of Work: When we were getting estimates for a new roof, we were told of needed chimney repair work. We got several estimates, which varied widely in what was recommended to be done and cost. Donnie was very knowledgeable, his price was good and he seemed to identify the problems without recommending more than was needed. He repaired the chimney crown, installed a new cap, replaced and re-mortared some bricks and removed an old antenna.

Description of Work: He inspected both chimney crowns, pointed out a problem with the living room chimney and then swept the family room chimney. He then inspected the family room chimney with the video camera. He also did a minor repair to the mortar between the fire box and the hearth. Donnie told me how to clean off the soot from around the fireplace and told me why I should paint the firebox and how since we're replacing the stove insert (already removed) with gas logs. Donnie explained what I should look for in terms of the crowns and gave me an estimate on the repair of the unused chimney but said there was no urgency.
