Years ago I had a previous horrendous experience with a slow, unqualified, inarticulate and highly- priced "plumber" from one of the big houses so now I only use owner/ operator, licensed-plumber firms like Guy's. On both occasions they (Ferguson) turned up on time and fixed problems professionally and quickly without trying to bid up the job by announcing that unnecessary additional work had to be done. Plumbers are expensive but, when you factor in efficiency and honesty, Guy W. Ferguson is to be recommended.

Very professional and great price. That was a lot of work. Just to go in the basement and put a hose faucet from the basement out to the deck was worth it alone, but to fix the leak, front lawn and all the other stuff, would have costed me over $1,000, he did all for $600. Everything is an "A". I've used him several times. Very high quality. His only issue is that most the time you call, he gets back to when he can sometimes it's during the day most or many times he doesn't call you back till that night when he's done with his jobs during the day. He's a small business owner, he does most of the work himself, he does have some other guys that work with him. But unfortunately, it's not like he has a secretary waiting by the phone to help scheduling issues. In fact I was frustrated my hot water heater went out and another company charged me almost $2000 to replace the water heater and he would have replaced it for under $1000. He was the first one I called but he didn't call back till that night and I didn't know if he could do it the next day and we needed it done the next day. The other company could, so I was caught between a rock and a hard place so I had to commit to the other company. I was really frustrated but it was one of those things. That's how he keeps his costs down and he's able to charge me less money because he's not paying the overhead to have someone sit there and watch the phones. It's a plus and minus. I think it took him a little over half a day to do the work, a good amount of time considering all the work he had to do. We've used him before. High quality work and great price.

They didn't arrive on time nor call to say the would be late. The job was approached in a minimalist fashion. We had to insist that the drain, with 20 years of corrosion, be replaced. Other shortcuts would have been taken if we had not been around. There was absolutely no clean-up. Hand prints and smudges were left on the walls both in and outside the bathroom. The visit was disruptive, lazy, and took longer than required driving up the cost. The work and presentation overall was unprofessional and slovenly performed. Unfortunately Ferguson Plumbing has gone into retirement mode. The son and young men who did quality work in the past are no longer with the company. Guy and an assistant installed our faucet and we would not welcome them to our home again..

We are old and feeble. They are always an A. They never get tired of us. We've been with them for a while. I would say five years or more.

We have been with them for a while, I would say five years or more. They are really friendly. They are cute young people and whenever they move on have to be replaced I miss them. I've never had any problem with quality.

It went extremely well! I understand that they spent two hours in the office finding the special cartridge that we needed online, which saved us from having to replace the entire tub valve control.

Replaced and repaired three failed water bibbs and rebuilt locked-up shower faucet stems and handles. The jobs were located in a 60 year old house in an 8' foot high ceiling, inside a cinderblock wall, and in a 2' bath tub. In less then two hours Guy cheerfully and successfully stopped an active leak with replacement parts he carried in his on-site inventory. We called for help on Monday and Guy appeared the next morning to solve our leaky house problem. Many thanks for a prompt and successful job.

Nick was kind enough to come out in a awkward situation and plumb new sink for me. The other plumber had left the faucet in pieces in a bucket and plumbing that was not installed properly. Nick saved me from having to replace a very expensive faucet. I also have very little space under my sink, and he was able to get everything to fit in there and still leave me room for all the stuff that goes under your sink. The best part is, I felt comfortable enough with him that I left to go to work and he finished up without me at the house. Guy has been to my house before and installed a new hot water heater and expansion tank and done a beautiful job in a very small space. He also went out to a friend's house on short notice and was able to help her.

I have had Guy Ferguson do work in my home on several occasions. He's replaced our kitchen faucet, replaced the drain pan that sits under the washing machine (right before I bought a new washing machine), and today he replaced a cracked pipe under our kitchen sink. We noticed the leak this past weekend and found where the crack was. Once we realized we couldn't fix this ourselves, I called Guy and asked if he could come over today (my day off) to do the repair. Guy and his assistant came over very early, removed the old trap, cleared the pipe where the new trap would connect, and put in a new trap. They then tested to make sure there were no leaks. Guy is very friendly, as are his assistants, and their work is superior.

I have not seen in person but in photographs all the work seems to be coming along fine and my real estate agent is happy the results and the place is now rented.

I called and quot;Winkyand quot; and described our problem of a basement floor drain that was backing up. I answered several questions over the phone to determine the scope of the problem. I was given an estimate on the phone, and was given an estimate of when the next available service person would be available- just two hours. The service person arrived within the time specified, and was able to correct the problem in about 45 minutes. The serviceman was clean and professional and verified we where satisfied with the repair and cleanup preparing the bill. We were very satisfied with the repair and timeliness of the visit.

We discovered this problem two days before Christmas and were worried about finding someone to come up. Mr. Ferguson sent his crew out, first thing the next morning, on Christmas Eve, and they quickly and efficiently solved the problem. We've used Mr. Ferguson before and have always been very satisfied with his prompt response and his work. We highly recommend him.

$Tried to repair outside water faucet, it broke spraying water everywhere. Turned off main water to house, called them Monday afternoon. He said he could send someone on emergency call late that afternoon, but said he hated to have to charge emergency call prices. He suggested waiting until Tues. morning. I told him I didn't want to be without water until Tuesday morning. He was very patient and explained there should be a separate cut off for the outside water faucet and and talked me through finding it in the basement crawlspace. I was able to wait. Got a courtesy call when they were on the way. They did a great job so I asked them for some additional work since they were here. Highly recommend them!

There were two men they were very neat, on time and prompt.

This was a job that went very badly with a handyman company. Not only they could not fix the problem, made it worse, but told me it would take 6 - 8 hours to do the job right. I got Guy Ferguson from Washington Checkbook. They came promptly and fixed the problem within the one hour that they estimated. They know what they are doing, prompt, neat and very professional.

Guy W. Ferguson is the best Master Plumber in northern Virginia. He does the best quality work I have ever seen, cuts no corners, and warranties what he does. If anything doesn't work perfectly after he or his son and other plumbers have left, he will come back and fix the problem himself at no further charge to you. That is almost unheard of in the plumbing trade. His prices are average -- not low, but also not high. We found Guy Ferguson on the recommendation of a friend when we needed to clean up the mess left by another plumber (Sparkle Drain Cleaning) who not only refused to fix their failure to clean out our drain the day after they had supposedly cleared it, but came back the next day when we called them, only to berate us and verbally abuse us because it was still clogged and excrement had run out all over the bathroom and hallway floor. Sparkle said we would have to pay for another cleaning, though we had given them a check for over $400 the day before for the same job. I had to order them out of our house when five bellowing big men from Sparkle stood in the excrement and terrified our daughter and her baby. Since that incident, Guy Ferguson has always been our plumber. Guy Ferguson is smart and will always give you sound advice. If you follow his advice, you will be very happy. I have had numerous other plumbers over twenty years in northern Virginia, and Guy Ferguson is simply the best.

I called Ferguson to remove an old metal pedastel sink and replace it with a newer vanity. They were able to fit me in quickly, came on time and their pricing was very reasonable. I have used them a few times and will continue to do so.

He came on time, was efficient in attending to the task, his advice and price charged was very reasonable. I was impressed with his honesty and will recommend his services.

I called Mr. Ferguson based on reviews in Checkbook Magazine and on Angie's List. He told me when he would be in my area, gave me a window during which he could come by to look at the problem, and indicated that he would be able to begin some work that day if I desired. He appeared within the time window he had specified, made an excellent impression in terms of his grooming and professional manner, as did his assistant - and it was clear that they were accustomed to working together and operated smoothly as a team. Mr. Ferguson provided and estimate for what I wanted done, which I thought was fair; I felt confident in him (especially given positive reviews); and was anxious to get the work done. So, I gave him the go-ahead. He and his assistant work efficiently, and were good-humoured and pleasant company. I was billed for 3 1/2 hours work plus materials, and given a detailed invoice. The overall bill was in the range of the estimate. Mr. Ferguson impresses me as a serious and intelligent professional who enjoys his craft and makes every effort to do it well. It was a relief to find someone who did good work at a price that I felt was fair.

In terms of cost, I would say that I was paying for training of the one mechanic. There was no credit for her time since she didn't do her work properly to begin with. I paid $180 per hour for the three of them and $80 without him. Get an estimate if you decide to use him.

Installed the new faucet and cleared the tube. Took longer than estimated due to stubborn leak in faucet water line connection. Left everything clean and neat.

Hands down, this was the best "service provider" experience that I have had in DC these past 7 years. My call was returned promptly. A price was quoted. They called me 15 minutes before showing up. Arrived on time. Drained the old water heater. Installed the new one. Corrected mistakes made by others when they installed the original heater. Got the old heater up my very narrow basement stairs and out of the house. Cleaned up after themselves. Were quite professional and friendly during the entire process. The charge was what was quoted. I would feel VERY confident working with them again.
