GNA did an outstanding job. They had a major rennovation on our master bath and then another full bathroom - also done to perfection so this completes four bathrooms by GNA. All the men who did the work were extremely skilled in all trades and could do anything necessary. They were very polite and always kept the work area clean, closing it off from the rest of the house to minimize dust spreading. When we had a slight delay with the other company (no fault of anyone) in the countertop installation, GNA was very acoommodating in adjusting their schedule for us. I could go on and on but it would be nothing but superlatives in any category. If there was an A+ category they would be in it.
Description of Work: GNA provided all the labor to rennovate two powder rooms and install a new tile floor in the entryway and one of the powder rooms. I provided cabinets, mirrors, fixtures, lighting, paint, accessories, tile and grout. I did that because I wanted to, otherwise they would have done that. They did the demolition work to include stripping wall paper in one bathroom and then installed the new tile floor. They prepped and painted the walls, installed new baseboard trim, the cabinets, did some electrical work to install two sconces ILO an over the mirror light, and mirrors. I had another company measure, fabricate, and install the countertops. GAN installed the sink fixtures and did final touch ups.

GNA was responsive, prompt and professional. We had two bathrooms that needed updating. Each bathroom took 5 days each to completion. I provided the tile & grout and plumbing fixtures and wall paint, window and GNA's man did the labor. He made sure he protected the floors and covering and moving any furniture in the way. When they finished they cleaned up and vacuumed and wiped down surfaces. He made sure to ask me for directions for tile design and to show me his progress before proceeding. I would definitely use them again, this was not the first time I used GNA. GNA had saved me from another renovators botched job a couple of years ago. Great guys & staff.

Really enjoyed working with the designers. We didn't know what we wanted, but we knew we needed a different layout in the master bath. Paid for designs by two contractors. GNA's was clearly the better design. Slightly more expensive than the competitor, but they really understood what we didn't like about the old design, and fixed it. Also, they provided great help sorting through the maze of options for fixtures, tile, paint colors, etc. Doing all three baths in one job presented some scheduling challenges for us, but they worked with us to make sure we always had at least one functional toilet and shower over the 2-month period. We worked with one person assigned to our job, who was at the house all day every day until it was done. There was an expected gap at one point waiting for a custom shower enclosure installation. That was the only task assigned to a subcontractor, and we were informed at the very beginning that scheduling that might mean a gap in progress. The only complaint we have is that some work needed to be redone after final inspection (a small crack in a sink and a backsplash). Because the team working on our project was by then off to another job, it seemed to take forever to get those items re-installed, and then forever again to get the grout and paint repaired after the re-installation. Note that there was no argument or hesitation on GNA's part to replace the items or do the work. It was just very difficult to schedule. Everything did eventually get done.
Description of Work: Total gut, redesign, and refinish master bath (new layout, walk-in shower,etc.). Gut and refinish guest bath and powder room. All new fixtures, tile, lighting, ventilation, etc.

GNA was very good. The installers were very professional. An issues were resolved as soon as they came up and everything was to our satisfaction. The installers cleaned up every day. I'd highly recommend GNA.

Very happy with the service and process with GNA. Process was smooth and professional. As with any construction project, there were some surprises once the walls were opened up, however the team from GNA handled everything well and their level of customer service exceeded all previous contractors we have worked with over the years. They can be a bit slow to respond at times due to their volume of work on any given day, but this is a far cry from the unresponsiveness I have experiences with other contractors who seemed to actively ignore calls and emails. I will definitely be using them for my next bathroom remodel later this year and happily recommend them to others looking fto do the same.

The good: Chas was incredibly nice and professional. Upon our meeting he brought a folder with copies of GNA's warranty, license, and insurance. My husband and I were pretty impressed. Chas sent us an estimate within 48 hours. The scope of work and related costs were right around the other estimates received. Ultimately, we "clicked" with another contractor and opted to not hire GNA. However, if we ever do more work or make recommendations to friends, Chas will be on our list! The less good: I hated dealing with the persons handling the phone. Whenever I called GNA or they called us the person was vague or seemed slightly confused. It was never really a problem, just a bit off-putting.

Hi [member name removed], Thank you for your review! We really appreciate you writing a review for us even though you did not ultimately end up going with us. We wanted to let you, and future clients know, that the individual who was placed in that position was employed here for about two months during the summer of 2013 and was let go due to occurrences like this, and others. We wanted to give you an apology for the sub par service you received in that area of our company. Please be assured that this has been remedied. We do appreciate you working with us and hope to be considered on your next renovation! Thank you again! Jazz Hudson Executive Assistant Greg Norman & Associates Inc,

GNA remodeled kitchen and power room. I started with 3 estimates. GNA was just slightly higher, however I liked the fact they don't subcontract, offered materials made in the USA and they worked with me on a payment schedule I was comfortable with. Kitchen was remodeled from studs out. The wall between the kitchen and dinning room was removed. Ceiling in kitchen & dinning room removed. Installed; new ceiling in kitchen & dinning room with new light fixture, pendent lights and canned lights all with dimmers. Installed, all the new: cabinets, new breakfast bar, back-splash, counter tops, tile floor, kitchen sink and all appliances. Powder room ? removed everything from within powder room and installed all the new items; vanity, toilet, floor tile, mirror and cabinets Painted the whole first floor of townhouse. The workers were very courteous and very professional. They did quality work. Sometimes we had some language/ communications issues but we were able to work though it. They did a great job cleaning up at the end of each day. The final product looks great and I would request this team of workers again. We did have a cabinet door issue over the refrigerator. First it was too large, then it was the wrong glaze but it was corrected as soon as possible. I worked mostly with Vince Winteregg from GNA and we would email and text often during the whole processes. I?m very happy with the work and would use GNA again.

The in-home estimate and presentation went very well which ultimately made our decision to go w/ GNA vice other companies despite their estimate being a little higher than other companies. After listening to the presentation and answering our questions, my wife and I felt more confident in their ability to remodel our bathroom w/ quality work. The subsequent communication could've been better. We typically had to wait 2-3 days before hearing back from them which hindered our ability to purchase the right size supplies (sink, faucet, tile, etc) in time for the renovation start date, and we got the impression, rightly or wrongly, that we were bothering them w/ our concerns/ questions via e-mail. We were also told that a supervisor would be there overseeing the work. I met the supervisor once when the project started, and although he was friendly, professional, and answered my questions, I was a little disappointed that we never spoke again to dicuss the progress of the renovation and/ or to answer any additional questions, etc. We were also told that the project would take approximately 6 days. It took 2 weeks. On the positive side, the workers were very courteous and professional. They did quality work and did their best to answer all of my questions. They did a great job cleaning up at the end of each day. The final product looks great. We were also a little disappointed that no one from the company called or showed up at the house when the bathroom was completed to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. We just got a call from someone asking for final payment. Overall, the job was completed to our satisfaction and I guess that's what counts. I think the company should be more communicative and more engaging w/ their customers throughout the process to ensure all concerns are being met and the final project is done to their customer's satisfaction.

From beginning to end, GNA has surpassed our expectations. We choose them because they provided us a detailed quote for all the work and products they would provide and they have a three year guarantee. Chas helped us stay around our budget on the quote even though it ended up being more expensive after we chose our products (we upgraded on several items). The awesome thing about GNA was the one stop shop. They do not send you on a wild goose chase looking for products as other contractors do but you sit down with an experienced designer who helps you design your bathroom. We had Vince and he was great! He was so patient (several times we changed our minds on items) and you could tell he genuinely wanted to make the bathroom the best it could be. The crew who worked on our bathroom were always on time and even stayed later on the evenings to insure they finished on schedule which really surprised us. David, the project manager, kept us informed every step of the way even when we were out of town for a week during the renovation. Everyone was professional and respectful throughout the whole process. They were always very responsive to any questions we had and it was a complete pleasure to work with this group of people. This was our first home renovation ever and it couldn't have went more smoothly thanks to GNA. Our bathroom turned out amazing and better than we ever thought it would. The detail and craftsmanship is beautiful and couldn't have been done better. We thought it was a bit more expensive than we had anticipated (most our fault since we choose certain products) but we are willing to pay more for a contractor to do the work right, on schedule, and making it easy on us. GNA did all! Even since the renovation, they have been responsive to any questions we've had. We WILL use GNA again to renovate our kitchen and remaining bathrooms! No question about it. Can't go wrong with choosing this wonderful company!
Description of Work: Complete renovation of the master bathroom and closet area. Gutted the bathroom and adjoining bedroom closet to expand the master shower. Removed laundry shoot to expand the master closet. Framed and installed a door to separate the bedroom and bathroom area. Installed all the new items (vanity, toilet, shower, tile, closet doors, etc) in the new area.

Let me start by saying this was my first major interior remodel project, so I wasn't 100% sure what to expect. Overall, I was generally pleased with the process, and very pleased with the end result. I started with 3 estimates in September. GNA was in the ball park price-wise with the other two, but I liked the fact they don't subcontract, and the process they use for waterproofing the shower and bathroom floor. Chaz came out and was very helpful with the design and upfront about cost, providing a copy of the proposed floor plan layout. I worked with Vince in the showroom; and, while I had an idea in mind about what I was looking for, he was helpful in providing options and suggestions without being overly pushy or directive to help keep it within my set budget. It was an iterative process, and it worked for me. Some people may want more direction, or less. I think the key point is to take your time and speak up if something isn't looking the way you want it to. I had a budget in mind, which I shared and for the most part was able to stick to that. The work started 12/11/12 and while I agreed to it, my lesson learned is not to do major remodel work right before major holidays! One thing I wasn't prepared for is that my master bedroom was totally taken over (remember, my first remodel project). I had not moved enough clothes out for two weeks, so had to move around some things to access closet, etc to get more clothes! Jose and his colleague were great, and did an excellent job of putting down protective barriers on floor and doorways - I was amazed at the end how little dust there was. They did start later in the morning, after I had left for work, and so worked well into the evening, which was disruptive at first, but worked out fine. They met the target completion date (minus shower glass doors which take longer) of 12/21/12. There were a few glitches - wrong type of lights ordered (which we fixed) and installed off center (which was also fixed). One of the sink faucets developed a leak within a week, but was fixed when pointed out, prior to the final payment. I did find the responsiveness to my email and voice messages a little frustrating (often took over 24 hours or a second call/ email to get a response), hence the lower mark on on that. However, overall it was a good experience and I love the new bathroom - with lots of compliments from friends and family! I hope to do my kitchen at some point and would definitely consider using GNA again to do it!

From start to finish this was an extremely convenient and professional service. The estimator, Chas, was knowledgeable and helpful, and Chelsea provided invaluable assistance in picking out fixtures, colors, and materials and pulling the look together. David supervised the job and was completely responsive each day of the job and handled my punch lists with ease. The best thing about GNA in my opinion is that it was one-stop shopping - I could buy all my materials from them and have one designer coordinate everything. The work was of high quality, and the 3 year warranty cannot be beat. It is more expensive to go this route for a remodel like mine - in which no walls were gutted or construction was needed. But the outcome in terms of convenience and high quality workmanship and installation was worth it. I love my new bathrooms and the cost will more than pay for itself with my resale value -- if I can ever part with my new bathrooms! I will use them for any future remodeling and highly recommend them.
Description of Work: The contractor remodeled two full baths and one half bath. This consisted of 3 new vanities, sinks, and mirrors, one new floor, and one new toilet, removal of wallpaper in 2 baths and painting all 3. I also used their design service.

Greatest contractor experience we have ever had! The personnel at the office/gallery were super nice, very helpful and had a tremendous selection. After determining what style we wanted, they helped us find cost effective solutions. They did not push us to spend more than we wanted to. Quite the opposite they helped us create a design that had all the bells and whistles that we wanted in our price range. We were provided with drawings of our design for approval prior to the start of the job. The workers were on time every day. They were very professional and very nice people. As the job went on, we occasionally asked for a tweak in the design (shower curtain rod location and medicine cabinet hinges). They were more than happy to oblige and made the changes flawlessly. The home office contacted us regularly to make sure we were happy with the progress. They had to walk literally through the entire condo to get to the bathroom they were working on. They took exceptional care of our floors, walls and belongings. There was practically no clean-up to do after they left. The timeline they promised was met, and they finished the job in 2 weeks! I cannot recommend them enough. It is very clear that their representatives are highly training in all aspects of the work they do. The outcome was spectacular! Our bathroom was a show piece, and looked like it belonged in a magazine. I give GNA the highest marks possible.

GNA is an amazing company to work with. Their long-term employed, company trained crews, their supplier relationships and scheduling work together to shave as much as $10,000 off of comparable estimates without compromising quality in any way. They were clearly committed to having us be happy with the final result - even when that meant sending out a carpenter much later to rework the vanity cabinet drawers to our satisfaction when the original manufacturer's drawer sizes proved too small for our needs. Their efficiency was impressive: the primary work was completed within two weeks being 3 to 4 weeks less than other companies had indicated. When we later had second thoughts and minor issues, re-orders and scheduling drew the finishing touches of the process out to later in the summer, but it was always clear that everything would ultimately work out to our satisfactions. Definitely at top-notch company.

The bathroom is beautiful. It makes me smile every time I enter the room. I would hire GNA again if I choose to remodel another bathroom. When Chas conducted the estimate, he gave me a range of options and explained that GNA uses the Schluter shower system used on the HGTV program Holmes on Homes. I worked with Vince in the design studio to pick out tile and designed the shower tile based on the pattern in the GNA showroom. Fred is the Job Supervisor and he walked me through how the work would progress and the methods they would use to protect my carpet, furniture, etc. Fred kept in touch with me through the project. Mario and Poncho did all of the remodeling work. They were prompt and professional and kept everything as neat and organized as possible. As the project was coming to a close, I asked Fred if GNA could add painting to the the job and the next day, Jose painted the room. The final walk through had to wait until after the storm (and our power was restored) and David explained how to clean and maintain my beautiful new bathroom.
Description of Work: GNA remodeled my small Master Bathroom. They replaced the fiberglass shower insert and linoleum flooring with ceramic tile. They replaced the toilet with more efficient model, moved the electrical outlet near the vanity, and installed the new vanity, the cabinet over the toilet, and the fixtures - towel bar, robe hooks, etc. They finished with painting and new baseboards.

After reading all the great reviews and having a fairly extensive phone conversation with this company I made an appointment for 12/19/11 at 1pm. I received a package in the mail with a cover letter confirming the date & time, photos, company info, warranties, license & insurance. Very professional and timely, it came within 2 days of that phone conversation. However by 1.40 on Monday 12/19 I had not heard from anyone, I called the main office to be informed that there was a mix up in the schedule with the estimator, that he was in the area and could be here in 20 minutes. I declined, from my point of view, basic professionalism requires you show up on time, and if that is not possible you call if you are running late. At the very best this really was a mix up in organizational skills which does not bode well for my project or at the very worst someone knew and couldn't be bothered to keep me informed, neither of which inspires me to hire this company.

Response from GNA dba BathMasters
This was definitely an embarrassing mistake and a mix up on our scheduling board. If our estimator is running late we always call as soon as we know to keep the homeowner informed. We honestly did not realize our mistake until Member called and we definitely did not purposely ignore the appointment. We do have a tracking system for our estimates and this mistake has revealed a glitch in that system that has now been corrected. We would like to apologize again for the mix up and wish her well on her renovation.

GNA did an outstanding job in every aspect to include the visit to discuss our desires, providing a comprehensive cost estimate, meeting with the design consultants to discuss what brands and styles of items we wanted, the demolition and installation and courtesy follow-up. Everyone was extremely helpful, courteous and responsive. The 2-man crew that did the work was incredible. They were fast and efficient working well as a team. The lead did everything and was a master at his work. They cleaned up the area each day. A supervisor came by most days to check on progress and address any issues. I am an experienced do-it-yourselfer and am critical of how some contractors do their job. I was totally impressed by the teams attention to detail to get everything just right. When it was discovered that one of the medicine cabinets was off-center above the sink by about 1 inch, there was no issue, they simply moved it. The construction of the shower was very well done. The tile work in the shower and on the floor was truly professional. We interviewed eight companies, received estimates from six and selected GNA. It was an easy decision. Their price was on the high side, but not the most expensive proposal. We made the best selection, and each day they worked on the bathroom, about 2 weeks, we were more and more convinced that contracting with GNA was the right decision.
Description of Work: We had a small master bathroom and an adjoining dressing area. GNA gutted both areas completely to create one large bathroom and dressing area with vanity dressing table. They removed a wall between the bathroom and dressing area and built a wall and installed a door to close off the new bathroom where the opening to the dressing area had been. They relocated outlets, switches, the ceiling fan, added plumbing for an additional sink, and changed the plumbing and drain for the shower., They removed an oversized tub and replaced it with a tiled walk-in shower with a bench. They installed the base cabinets, recessed vanities above the sinks, wall lights, ventilation fan and light, toilet, and plumbing fixtures. They installed the tile shower and a tile floor. We had another company install the bathroom countertops, then GNA came in to connect all the plumbing and fixtures. They painted the entire bathroom.

GNA arrived on time for our first meeting. They took measurements and provided us with a written estimate. GNA workers arrived on time each morning of the renovation, worked a full day, and cleaned up before leaving. They removed wall-to-wall carpeting and installed hardwood floors in our family room, powder room, and coat closet. They also removed the carpeting on the stairs leading down to the basement and installed hardwood oak stair treads and risers (stained and finished to match the Bruce flooring). GNA removed a brick hearth and installed a solid granite hearth in our family room. They removed the old powder room vanity and wall mirror. They installed a new 30” Vanity in the Heritage Finish on American Cherry, English Brown Granite top with backsplash ($800) and a matching Traditional Collection Mirror ($200). They moved the plumbing, installed Koehler Forte widespread lavatory faucet with sculpted lever handles in Vibrant French Gold ($250). They painted the powder room.
Description of Work: GNA installed Bruce hardwood floors in our family room, powder room, and coat closet ($3000). They installed hardwood oak stair treads and risers on the staircase leading to our basement ($2000). They installed a solid granite hearth in our family room ($1,000). They renovated and painted our powder room ($2,000) -- installed a vanity and mirror, moved the plumbing, and installed a new faucet.

Chas came out to give the estimate. He was very patient and thorough, and didn't treat me like an idiot while explaining the whole process of what they would do to the shower. He gave me three different estimates to help us figure out how much remodeling we were going to do to the shower. Ultimately, we decided to hire GNA to just fix the broken floor without changing the upper part of the shower at all. Oscar did all the work on the shower by himself in about two-and-a-half days. He was punctual and professional, and did his best to keep all the tile dust and other detritus from getting all over the house. (If you've never had house repairs before, there's only so much you can do about that--invest in a swiffer duster and don't expect miracles.) He was also able to reinstall our old shower doors so we didn't have to buy new ones. The difference between the old shower floor and the new one was immediately noticeable, and, over time, we appreciate it more and more. The slope down to the drain is absolutely perfect--the shower door is *bone-dry* by the time the next person goes in to shower, and the floor feels smooth and comfortable on the feet. Chelsea and the other showroom staff were also friendly, professional, and helpful with picking out the tile and figuring out payment options (we wanted to use our credit card rather than write a check so we could get the points). The tile on the bottom of the shower nicely contrasts with the tile on the top, because they don't make the matching tile anymore. The job was done within the time and cost estimated. Although the GNA estimate was one of the highest, I felt more comfortable with them than the other companies, and I'm glad I followed my instinct and hired them. We took an excessively long time after the estimate to decide what to do, yet they remembered us and had even done another drawing of our shower to show us the final plan. I'd rather pay more and not have to worry about the work falling apart later.
Description of Work: Demolished old shower floor and installed new one without changing the rest of the shower.

I initially found GNA through Angie's List. I have a small, galley kitchen (approx 10' x 13') in a 1968 townhouse that had most of the original kitchen, except for appliances that the previous homeowner updated about ten years ago. I set up an appointment for someone to come by my house. Chas Oliver, one of the owners, timely arrived at my house. Chas was very nice, very knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. He took measurements of my kitchen, and asked a lot of questions, in order to prepare an estimate. Chas was very thorough, and asked to see the basement as well, to look at the structure under the kitchen to see if it was sufficient, and the look at the electrical panel. I told Chas that I wanted to do a complete gut remodel and update everything; however, I noted that I didn't think my wife and I would be in that house for much beyond 3 years or so, and that therefore, we wanted something functional, nice, but that would also appeal to any potential buyer of the house in a few years down the road. I felt very comfortable talking to Chas, and he was, in addition to being very knowledgeable, laid-back and made me feel at ease. He also listened very well, when I told him my concerns. Within a week, Chas emailed me a very thorough estimate that I thought was detailed and fair. It was obvious Chas took a lot of time to write the estimate. I emailed Chas a few questions and he always answered them very promptly. The next step was to fill in some of the details such as finishes, tile, countertop, cabinet design and style, etc. For this, my wife and I made an appointment with Chelsea at GNA's design center, The Tile Studio, located in Annandale, VA. The Tile Studio was a little tricky to find, as it is off a busy road, and tucked back in an industrial area. We met with Chelsea Carson, a designer with GNA. Chelsea was extremely friendly, and spent about 2 hours with us going over the multitude of choices. Although there were certainly a decent number of samples of tile, granite and cabinets at their design center, they gave us the option of going to other stores that they had a relationship with to see a greater selection of tile. The studio itself was relatively small, so having that option was nice. GNA had tile from several manufacturers. However, they primarily only used cabinets from one manufacturer, Designer's Choice Cabinetry, out of Florida. It certainly seemed like well made cabinetry, though I'd never heard of the company. For example, it was all wood construction, and had plywood sides and nice finishes. If you do some research, you'll find that most cabinet companies, at lease the large ones, make cabinets in various degrees or levels. Intro cabinets may have some mdf or particleboard construction. And, my wife and I picked out a simple, shaker style in a light stained maple, which is what we wanted. However, if you really wanted a particular style, shade or type of cabinet, or a different manufacturer, I'm not sure what your choice would be. We also picked out a faucet, sink and knobs/pulls from manufacturer's catalogs, and were quoted the msrp for those items. A few days later, Chelsea updated the estimate to include a more accurate price that reflected the cabinet, tile, sink, faucet, knob/pulls and countertop choices we made. It seemed fair, though it was slightly higher--though not the highest--from other estimates we ultimately received. We interviewed four contractors in total. A few of the other things that I liked about GNA was that they offered a three year warranty on their work. All of the other companies we interviewed only offered a one year warranty. Additionally, Chas mentioned that GNA only has full time employees, and does not sub out any of their work. For example, they have their own electrician. Again, this was the only company that we interviewed that had this. Ultimately, we decided to go with another company, even though I would have felt completely comfortable hiring GNA. Everyone I talked to--Chas and Chelsea in particular--were very nice, friendly and professional. It really came down to cost for us, and GNA wasn't that far off. We ended up going with a different company that offered more cabinet choices, and gave us the opportunity to purchase some of our products, such as the faucet, knobs/pulls, on our own. I would not hesitate to recommend GNA, or to use them in the future for a project.
Description of Work: I contacted Greg Norman & Associates ("GNA") back in November of 2010 to set up an appointment for an estimate to do a complete renovation to my kitchen. They provided a detailed estimate. However, ultimately, I did not hire GNA, though I was very impressed with them.

Response from GNA dba BathMasters
We sincerely appreciate the member's review. In response, we wanted to let everyone know that we have recently added two more lines of cabinetry (Aristokraft Cabinetry and Norcraft Cabinetry) to give our customers more choices and price ranges.
