The owner, Brian Brennan, was always prompt to respond to emails and phone calls. He returned my initial phone call about an estimate within an hour or two and, because he was working nearby, arranged to take measurements later the same day. We had an estimate in hand the following day! Brian and his crew always arrived on time and took pains to keep the area adjacent to the bathroom protected and as clean as possible. Brian was hands-on throughout the job, making sure that he, we and his crew were all on the same page. He worked with our schedule to allow some homeowner work in between the framing and tile-setting stages, while still ensuring that the job was completed before our deadline. They did a superior job of laying out the tile and keeping the grout joints straight. Their attention to detail exceeded our expectations. We will definitely use Custom Design Tile again and recommend them without hesitation.

At the recommendation of several of our friends, my husband and I hired Custom Design Tile to gut and renovate our small powder room near the kitchen, and we were not disappointed. From start to finish, Brian and his team did an outstanding job, and our new powder room illustrates their commitment to delivering a high quality product. Brian responded quickly to my inquiry and we had a workplan and estimate within two days. Once the team began in late January, the work was finished over the course of 8 workdays, and throughout, the team members were prompt, courteous, and respectful of our home. The new powder room is gorgeous -- modern, clean, and very attractive. We're already planning another project with Custom Design Tile to install the new backsplash in our kitchen.

I spoke with Bryan Brennan, owner of Custom Design Tile, one afternoon, and he offered to come at 8 AM the next morning. Mr. Brennan arrived early for the appointment. He was extremely conscientious. The job was a little tricky because while the opening in the marble tile needed to be enlarged enough to be able to replace the faulty part, it could not be enlarged very much because the trim plate for the faucet needed to be sealed to the tile. Mr. Brennan was very careful in his work. When he was done, he brought in his own vacuum and cleaned everything up. I was very pleased with his work, and I would certainly use Mr. Brennan again.

Brian came to my home after responding to a telephone message from me asking for a price on removing and installing new kitchen backsplash which was 15 square feet. He would not give me an estimate while he was here but chose to email me. His price was $1500 to remove and install tile. This did not include the tile. I thought the estimate was way overpriced and chose another local installer who did the work for #375.00 and I purchased the tile from J&J tile in Stafford, Va. The total cost was a little over $400.00 for everything. I would not recommend this company.

The estimate was very good; it was all detailed out in Excel. It was very thorough, he guided me very quickly, he called and talked about and answered my questions.

Custom Design Tile was wonderful! The quoted price was fair and reasonable, the work was done on schedule, and there were no surprise charges after the work was completed. The crew was completely trustworthy, as I gave them a key to my house for the week. I can't wait to have them come out and do my Master bathroom!! I've already recommended them to a couple friends, but wanted to put a glowing review on here as well!!

Brian and his crew took over a job that a handyman had started. They tore out the prefabricated shower base and built a mortar-bed shower, then waterproofed everything with Kerdi and installed tile on the shower and bathroom floor. They did a really nice job on everything and it was clear that everyone involved was thinking about the project. They also rebuilt the shower niche that we had started with, to make it wider and have it line up with the grout lines. Brian came every day to check on the project and called me to report how things were going and let me know if I needed to make any decisions. We expanded the scope mid-project to include tile and a few niches around the tub surround and I feel like he gave a fairly reasonable price on that. Overall. the price was the highest of three bids we received but he seemed to have the best idea of what we needed and wanted.

CDT was very easy to work with from start to finish; staff was professional and courteous. They worked with our specific time schedule, assisted in coordinating our tile delivery, and were extremely respectful of the rest of the house. The owner and his son did most of the work with the help of two other individuals. We are very happy with the final results and the level of customer service that was provided. They left our house spotless. My only wish was that they would have painted the foot molding since now I have to finish that myself, but we would certainly use them again if we decide to remodel the bathrooms.

From the first phone call to the final day of work, Brian Brennan and his team from Custom Design Tile (CDT) were professional, prompt and courteous. The advice and planning prior to the start of the project was great - Brian did a fantastic job in helping guide us through the best type of tile for our project and outlined each step of the proposed project. Once the project began, the attention to detail was evident and Brian always checked in with a daily progress report. CDT did an excellent job of keeping the work area and other areas of the house clean throughout the duration of the project. The end product is a beautiful, functional shower. We couldn't have asked for better.

I e-mailed Brian at Custom Design Tile to see if they handled shower installation, etc. Brian got back to me very quickly and we met shortly thereafter. The job was scheduled to begin within a few weeks (working around my schedule) and finished in a few days. Everything came together with no problems at all. The crew was on site daily, with no interruptions.

Brian Brennan, CDT proprietor, gave me a fair estimate and his crew did an outstanding job. Literally no worries. Without extra charge they also repaired a loose damaged tile in our Master Bathroom and a cracked tile in the upstairs hall bath, as well as leaving me the remaining grout they used for the principal basement bath tile job just in case I might need at a future date. All in all I would highly recommend CDT and am considering them as well for bigger jobs in the future.

The estimate was approximately market value and I found seven 'reviews' on Angies List. Upon investigating the 'reviews' on Angies List of this company, however, a number of unusual trends, which I haven't seen with any other contractor, emerged: ALL SEVEN of the 'reviewers' established accounts in February, 2012. ALL SEVEN of the 'reviewers' gave the company the same unanimous score of all As (save one B). ALL SEVEN of the 'reviewers' have listed a review of only this company and of no other company/service. I did not give the company a score one way or another because I cannot attest to the quality of work done. I can say, however, that the function of Angies List is to give a comprehensive and trustworthy report from previous clients and when looking at these reviews too many red flags emerged for me to feel comfortable. As always, be your own judge. I only gave the contractor a B on overall because I was required to give a grade by the Angies List questionnaire. I attempted to leave this field blank. If you disagree with my assessment, which is entirely fine, please disregard the B.

I hired Custom Design Tile to do a "face-lift" of my 80's looking powder room. I was a little worried because I had limited funds but wanted my bathroom to look new and updated. The owner, Brain Brennan, came to my house and submitted great and practical ideas within my budget. He suggested removing the bulkhead, new paint colors that matched my existing tile as well as new fixtures that complemented the overall design of my house. I think my favorite thing, for which I get compliments by anyone that visits my house, is a mirror frame created with marble moulding and glass border that pulled everything together. The work was done within the budget and on time. The crew was very courteous and always cleaned the work area before leaving for the day. My experience with CDT was amazing! I highly recommend Custom Design Tile for their professionalism, punctuality, attention to detail and honesty.

I recently hired Custom Design Tile to perform some new tile work in my home ( the standard job ) and the replacement of a larger exterior tile job that was botched by a prior tile contractor ( the hard job ). The experience was excellent starting with the involvement of the owner - Mr. Brian Brennan - who personally came to the site to discuss options and provide advice and counsel on everything from materials to the best ways to install the tile. Brian was a great and collaborative problem solver and great to work with. The jobs started as promised, were completed on time, and the workmanship was excellent. I was and am very pleased with the experience and I would heartily recommend this firm to anyone needing interior or exterior tile work done.

On time and on budget. After working with multiple contractors to renovate our newly purchased 80's home, dealing with Custom Design Tile was a breath of fresh air. From the quote to the install, Custom Design was professional and dependable. The installers showed up on time, and even accommodated our demanding travel soccer schedule. They also made sure to clean up daily, thus removing any hazards that our young ones may have found too tempting. Best of all they stuck to the quote...as I said, on-time and on-budget. Perhaps the time has come to call them again...time to renovate our master bath. I recommend them this professional group for any complex tile project.

I shopped around with three different flooring companies. One of which I had used previously to do two of my up stairs bathrooms. Custom Design Tile won out, even over the company previously used for my upstairs bathrooms. This was do to the absolute professionalism of estimator that came to my home. Right off the bat Brian came in and wanted to see how the floor was put together. He checked the floor joists then checked the sub flooring and existing underlayment. From there he made his recommendations as to how he would approach the job thoroughly explaining the hows and whys of his recommendations. He spent the time measuring and checking the level of the floor. Recommending leveling in areas that clearly needed it as well as recommending a Ditra underlayment that would ensure the large tile, I had previously selected, would be long lasting. The other two flooring companies only focused on measuring the space and trying to sell me on their price per sq ft for demo and install. When I did enquire with them as to how they would prep the job they both indicated they would lay cement board and tile over it. They never bother to see that there was already 5/8" underlayment. This would not have worked so well for my adjoining rooms, as the 5/8" underlayment with an additional cement backer board would have made the transitions much too high. Lastly Custom Design Tile's pricing was in line with the two other flooring companies as well. Once I contracted with Custom Design Tile we scheduled a start date for the demo to begin. The demo crew was on time and hard working. They were excellent in ensuring that all adjoining areas were sealed off with plastic. This was key as the demo work was potentially very dusty to the adjoining spaces. Once they had all the tile removed they used large floor sanders to get the old thin-set as level as possible. next they came through and thoroughly cleaned up the space. There next steps were priming areas for leveling then leveling the low spots. Next came the Ditra underlayment and the laying of the tile. They got an incredible amount of work done in 7 days. The floor turned out beautiful. Brian came each day to ensure that the crew had every thing they needed as well as to discuss the progress with me. Overall I was very happy with the work this flooring company did for me. They were very good in communicating with me on a daily basis.

Overall it went exactly the way I hoped it would go. The job was completed in a reasonable amount of time and I valued the crew's hard work ethic and their willingness and eagerness to make sure I was happy with their work. I was also impressed with their attention to detail which is very important to me. Job WELL done! Highly recommend Custom Design Tile!

As indicated, the work went exceptionally well from my standpoint from start to finish.
