Went fine.

The estimator was very nice and not pushy and hard-sell, as a couple estimators were. His prices and product were the best of four. Although I had ordered a little late for guaranteed installation in time for the tax break, the company managed to get them in with two days to spare. The installers were pleasant and cleaned up everything perfectly. Also, when one of the windows was missing a 6" piece strip of weatherstripping, missed in the factory, the president of the company brought a strip over and fixed the window himself. The windows are wonderful, look good and are very tight. In the future I will certainly have this company replace the rest of the windows.

The job was great. The men cleaned up after themselves and the windows look great. The job was done professionally.

I accepted an offer to replace eight (8) windows consisting of casement and sliders by Allied Aluminum Products, Inc. (AAP). I signed a contract and presented AAP with a 1/3 deposit. A few days after the final measurement I was informed that I would have to remove plantation shutters on two windows for the work to proceed. I was given the name of a contractor who would remove and replace them. The contractor never showed for an appointment I made. When I asked, AAP told me the guy wasn't really part of their company. He only showed up one day asking for work and they definitely didn't stand behind his reliability or workmanship. They had no explanation for why the guy didn't show up. In as much as Next Day Blinds wanted $450 to remove and reinstall each shutter effort seemed like an unacceptable imposition to me. I asked AAP if there was a work around, perhaps only to do the windows without the shutters. At that point the AAP representative, Scott Stratton, abruptly ended the conversation by telling me that his company would not honor the contract to replace my windows under any circumstances and he was returning my 1/3 deposit. Now, I've never had a company refuse my business before. Nothing says they have to accept it, I guess. But I had invested considerable time and effort to have them replace my windows and thought Mr. Stratton's attitude was, I don't know, flaky? weird? unprofessional? I subsequently called the other window company recommended by Angie's List, American Window. I entered into an agreement with them for about $1500 less and got all the windows replaced within a month without having to remove the shutters. The American Window representative wondered what the big deal was about the shutters when I related my experience with AAP.

They were very straightforward and did exactly what they said they were going to do. We had an unusual sliding door that we wanted and he went the extra effort to find that particular door for us. I would highly recommend them to others.

In general it was good. The price was in line with another company's price. I selected this company this company because they emphasized the 15% tax credit for energy-saver products. The other company rep later claimed that he mentioned this, but I don't recall hearing it. Also I selected this company because of their BBB rating. The work was done in a timely way and well. The windows look good. I do have at least a quibble. The lead worker indicated that they would put the blinds back up. They did put up the big one in the living room, but did not put back the ones in the kitchen, which I had to myself, and which was not so easy.

From my first call to Allied Aluminum Products in the summer of 2007 until today, June 11, 2009, I have been delighted with this company, and I would recommend it to anyone. I made one inquiring phone call in August, 2007, and within two days Mr. Charles Worthington came to my house. He measured everything and gave me an exact--and fair--price, as well as an approximate installation date. Just as he promised, a splendid team of installers came and within two days they completed their work. They had to endure my insistence that they not let my pet birds and fish get cold (it was autumn and a bit chilly), as well as the constant attention of my two badly-behaved, yappy Yorkshire Terriers. They could not have been more efficient, patient, or gracious. One even took one of my dogs out for me, and they all fussed over him--to his great delight. They were professional and polite, and their work was superb. My windows and doors are wonderful; my house is cooler in summer and warmer in winter--and I got a nice tax break. I had a very small problem that cropped up almost two years after the work was completed, so I called, and Mr. Worthington came out immediately and in short order set things to right. I am a very happy customer.

They had showed up on time to do the work. They had cleaned up everything when they were done everyday. They were very friendly while working.

I called the Allied office, and Mr. Worthington was able to come to our home the next morning to measure our windows, assess our needs, and provide a quote. Mr. Worthington clearly explained the products they carried and why one would be more suitable to our application than the other. This was not a "sales pitch" but a description of their products. Of the three companies we received quotes from, we elected to use Allied because their product had a superior energy rating and their price was more economical. I would use them again because of these two factors and their great service. Our windows were delivered before promised and installed very well. Robby and Sammy arrived as scheduled to begin the installation. After removing our old windows, they took great care to install the new windows so that they would be level in our not particularly level existing window openings. They were very careful to install all necessary trim on the exterior of our home, and since five of our windows reached from floor to ceiling, also removed, resized, and reinstalled the effected quarter-round. Their attention to detail is outstanding. In addition to their careful installation work, Robby and Sammy were also careful to protect our property both inside and outside. They covered all the floors and outdoor planting areas where they worked with clean drop clothes, vacuumed the floors where they worked when the work was completed, and conscientiously removed all debris.

This project went off without a hitch from my initial phone call to Scott through the work completed by Bobby, Sam, & Pedro. Scott arrived at our house at the appointed time, demonstrated the replacement window, answered all our questions, and took our order without making a "sales pitch." There was never any pressure to buy. Bobby and his crew arrived at the scheduled time on Thursday and were incredibly efficient. They replaced all 13 windows the first day and capped almost all the windows with the vinyl trim. Bobby explained that he had another project on Friday so he would return first thing Monday morning. He and Sam did just that. They came on time and completed the window project. Bobby also took care of a couple things that needed to be done with no extra charge. He installed a new interior window sill in the kitchen and fixed my front entry door!

They were very personable, capable, easy to deal with. I didn't do a lot of shopping around because they impressed me so much! They took care of me throughout the whole process.

Was impressed with the quality of the windows and the fact that their teams of installers have been working with them for many years. Liked the fact, that it was a family business and they cared about the company's reputation. Decided to go with another contractor, based on cost alone.

Extremely competent salesman [one of 3 owners]. Installation was extremely high quality and timely. This work was in 2005; previous efforts go back to 1991.

THIS COMPANY DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB WITH OUR WINDOWS. WE LOVE THE OUTCOME. THEY DID EVERYTHING THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO. AS WELL AS COMPLETING THE JOB ON TIME.
