We hired All Renovations to remodel our basement and add a bathroom. We had previously hired them to build a garage and had been pleased with the work they did so included them when we were interviewing potential candidates for our basement project. Their price was not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. Given our prior experience with them, we decided to hire them and are glad we did so. Despite some unexpected plumbing issues and resulting delays, All Renovations did a fabulous job on our basement and we are pleased with the end result. The foreman Edwin was easy to communicate with and worked with our designer throughout the project. It took a while to determine the best location and layout for the bathroom but Edwin worked with us to frame it in according to our specifications. As with most projects, there were a few issues (some missing fixtures and a problem with carpet installation) but they were resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. All in all, we are very happy with the work All Renovations did. The basement looks great.

I have been renovating our house that was built in 1950’s and I am nearly finished. I previously hired All Renovations to update my two upstairs bathrooms with the 1950’s tile where they did a superb job. Now that I am working on the basement, I decided to go with All Renovations again to update the basement bathroom and again I am very happy with the results. The basement bathroom was in the laundry room with a washer, dryer, cabinets and a water softener system making it a tight squeeze for the space. Upon viewing the construction options with Adrian of All Renovations, he thought of moving the water softener system to an adjacent hallway closet. This allowed dividing the space into a separate bath with a nearly 3’ x 6’ shower and maintaining a full laundry room with a utility sink as well. Adrian with his “can do” attitude was a real champ at getting the work done. He also is very detailed with his work and makes sure things are completed correctly – a true compliment to the All Renovations team. If you are considering hiring professionals for your home improvement project, you won’t go wrong with All Renovations. I have hired them now for three bathrooms, a detached garage and a portico addition. I am very pleased their work and I recommend them with full confidence.

We moved into a house and wanted the fireplace exterior to be remodeled, along with built-in bookcases on the wall on both sides of the fireplace, and recessed lighting installed. Edwin and his team did a great job doing the work and coordinating with the firm that installed the new granite piece. The work turned out looking exactly what we had in mind, and the team that did it was always very nice and easy to communicate with.

Working with All Renovations on my kitchen remodel has been an excruciating experience and one that I would not wish on my worst enemy. I would not hire them to work on your project unless you have the time and energy to act as your own project manager, defeating the purpose of hiring a contractor, and have extra cash set aside to deal with price hikes and correcting costly mistakes. On the plus side, I will say that everyone at All Renovations (Omar, Mir, Thomas, Mel) has been very pleasant and helpful when you can get a hold of them, but the problem is that they are frequently uncommunicative and are not adept at solving problems. First, let me address the timeline of my project. I was assured that my small kitchen was a “two week job.” From the time that I received permission from the condo association until now, as we’re negotiating the final punch list, 15 months have elapsed. So, my kitchen probably was a two week job, but those work days were spread over a ridiculous period of time. Getting permission from the condo association took a significant period of time (although All Renovations helpfully encouraged me to do the work without having it approved first, which I was unwilling to do). During this process, the condo association required me to get a new estimate, knowing that the scope of the work had changed somewhat. After asking to have an additional, 5ft., non-load bearing wall removed, All Renovations’ estimate increased by 54%. At this point, however, I was stuck and would lose my deposit if I chose not to accept the new terms. In retrospect, I wish I had written off the loss and chosen a new contractor. I had a very difficult time getting All Renovations to work on this project in a timely manner. I got the impression that they were doing too many other jobs to care about mine. At various points in this project, more than three months have elapsed with no contact or update from All Renovations (and four months between instances of work being done). I didn’t have a kitchen sink and running water for more than three months at one point and decided to simply pay extra for the counter top installers to bring a plumber, so my sink could be hooked up that day. I knew that if I waited for All Renovations to take care of the plumbing, as was included in the scope of the work they were doing for me, I could be left without running water for another three months. During the course of the project, we ran into several problems. First, we could not use the IKEA cabinets that I’d already purchased and the guys were incredibly helpful in helping me return them. Then, a wall could not be totally removed because of the utility pipes that go to the upstairs condo. All Renovations did not offer any creative solutions to this problem, although they did agree that the solution an architect friend of my proposed was a good one (build an island around it). However, this was yet another example of me needing to be my own project manager, rather than being able to rely on the one that I was paying to handle the renovation. It was a regular occurrence that work would be done without any advance warning (less of a problem when contractors are doing their work on a daily basis, but more of a surprise when they show up every few months). For example, I had no advance warning that they were going to do final demolition on my existing kitchen in January. I had a few dirty dishes in the sink that they helpfully herded into a box for me and I ultimately had to take to a friends’ house to wash. Recently, they showed up again with no advance warning, while I had house guests, who were really upset that a stranger had been in the house without first giving me a heads up. Finally, I would not put faith in All Renovations’ attention to detail, although I’m glad this was not a problem for others. For example, because of a miscommunication between All Renovations and their designer, I ended up with a sink that was not centered, but on the extreme left of the sink “cut out” in the upper cabinets. This mistake forced me to choose between spending an extra $1,000 on new upper cabinets or living with an asymmetrical design that would have been maddening (I chose to spend the money). More recently, I was told that the work was completed and that I needed to pay my remaining balance, despite the fact that there was a hole in the ceiling from where a light fixture was moved; outlet covers were not reinstalled after some additional electrical work was completed; my range still sticks out from the wall because of a mislocated outlet; and the person who installed the crown molding did not use any filler, so it looks like they’ve been attacked by termites. This has been a constant theme of the entire renovation: the team at All Renovations has relied on me, someone with no construction experience, to make punch lists and tell them what is outstanding on the project, rather than the other way around. I hope that this review helps other people avoid the mistake that I made by hiring All Renovations to complete your project.

Dear [Member Name Removed], Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on our company. We tried reaching you at project completion to see if there was anything we could do to assist you once the job was completed. We didn’t hear back from you but we would like to take the opportunity to provide some insight on your dealings with our company. We know contractor fatigue with a project can get frustrating and we have every intention of avoiding delays if we can control it. Your condo association requirements, engineering reports, age of building with hidden pipes/wiring, and shared utilities made this a very difficult job since these were mostly unforeseen items at our initial meeting. If we had known about these critical elements we would have definitely given you a much wider window for job completion to avoid surprises with your job delays. Initially we planned to use IKEA cabinetry with a design of your choice. Then you decided to change your selection with a kitchen designer of your choice which delayed the job significantly right of the bat. Your new design took time but we waited patiently while doing other jobs. Also we didn’t contract for you to work with any specific designer and the designer you selected couldn’t entirely be blamed for not knowing your sink utilities were being shared with all your neighbors, thereby making the movement of the sink, as planned, impossible. This is what caused you to have to redesign some cabinetry around the sink to reach the symmetry you desired. Once again this caused another delay with the reordering of some cabinets on your part. This was not caused by our team as we couldn’t move shared utilities. This was an old building which was likely converted from apartment complexes to privately owned condos but never received any utility piping/wiring updates. The additional cost you mentioned was for major electrical panel work requiring splices and movement from a wall you wanted removed. We tried to convince you to leave the wall in place but you wanted a more open kitchen plan and this added work and time to the job. The island design you mentioned could have been avoided if the panel wasn’t moved and that could have saved time and money on your end. We did make you aware of these items as we went along and are surprised that it was an issue after the fact. On a final note, please keep in mind that when significant delays occur on a job not caused by us, we must commence another job to keep our crews busy. Once we have finished our secondary job we are then able to come back to your job. We couldn’t simply leave the secondary job since they had no significant delays. We had to wait until we finished the other job and come back to yours. We had to do this several times since your condo issues and job redesign had several changes and surprises. We never have any intention to purposely delay jobs and permits on our job. It’s costly to reapply for permits along with continuous and recurring starting up and shutting down costs on delayed jobs. We didn’t charge for any of these items and did our best to assist you. Overall we tried our best to accommodate all parties involved including your condo association and we are sorry if you didn’t feel this way. We hope you would consider us for any future projects. We will make sure only the owner of our company is your project manager to oversee things and we can assure you of a much smoother outcome as we know your building really well now.

We turned a half-bath into a full-bath, made the open family room area a bedroom, and turned a storage space into a reading room/library. It went well: the design is good, everything looks great. The contractor dealt with permits and the City of Alexandria and walked us through needed-but-unexpected upgrades. It took slightly longer than we had hoped, but there were a few unforeseen bumps in the road.

From start to finish, All Renovations (Mir) was very responsive which is important to find a contractor who is. We were moving back into the area and Mir was wonderful in working with us through email and phone. We were nervous to have work done while not there to see what was going on but pictures were sent and any concerns were addressed. They made it so easy for us. We were extremely pleased when we finally showed up to see our home and the work done. Would highly recommend All Renovations!

It fulfilled all our expectations. The work was carried out by the All Renovations INC contractor, Adrian Rodriguez, who was meticulous in his attention to detail and performed the work—some of it needing a high level of creativity as well as expertise—with professional excellence. Adrian performed some additional work at our request, work that we wanted done but hadn't envisaged when we signed the contract. That of course pushed up the contract price. Finally both Omar, the company's owner, and Adrian, were always available to respond quickly to any questions we had. We are very satisfied with this company.

The end result is what counts. I rate that an "A". I had an overall design in mind and wanted a contractor experienced with basements. I also want a contractor I could work with as I knew there would be a few changes as work progressed. Initially I worked with Omar to layout the contract. That took about a week as we needed to have as many details specified as possible as to what work and material All Renovations was to provide and what I was to do and provide. After the contract was signed there was only one major change affecting the price. That was to move some plumbing and electrical wires that would interfere with installing the drywall in the ceiling. In the contract all the labor was included, even for material that I was to provide. I provided the flooring (2/3 floating vinyl and 1/3 porcelain tile), crown and shoe molding, wall and trim paint, and the wet bar cabinets. Adrian, the foreman, was in charge and did the carpentry, plumbing and electrical. He also advised me of any issues with the design and suggested approaches to make things look right. He also knows the county code and has an eye for aesthetic placement of lights, outlets, doors, entries, etc. The dry wall, painting and laying the floor was done by subs. Basements are difficult places to work with due to the stairs, utility area (HVAC, water heater, well), walls that are not straight, and floors that are not quite level. Adrian was dedicated to the finished quality of the work. He inspected daily the work of the subs. He provided them with instructions and any problems with their work were corrected. The project took about 3 months, longer than expected, but I rated the finished job and "A".

From start to finish, we were very pleased with All Renovations. Mir came out to do the estimate and remained in contact with us throughout the process. Edwin managed the work on site and communicated with us daily regarding schedules of the workers and progress of the job. All workers were professional and timely. The entire process was well organized and communication was excellent. Work was completed within the agreed-upon time-frame and we are very happy with the results. We would not hesitate to hire them again if needed.
Description of Work: After receiving several estimates, we chose All Renovations to finish the unfinished half of our basement. This included making one large space into 3 separate rooms with 2 built-in closets and consisted of installing drywall, tile floors, new window, lights, doors, paint, etc. They also installed new lighting in an existing finished room.

The basement finally looks like it actually belongs in our house! It’s truly usable space! A few spots need touch-ups and there was at least one little miscommmunication but I mostly put that on us, as we weren’t home 97 percent of the time they were working and mostly corresponded with Edwin by text. This was our first time doing a home renovation and while Edwin and team did a great job, we could have finished sooner and maybe done things a little differently if we had been around more during the work. Still, we are so grateful for how it turn out, the flexibility, and reasonable pricing!

STAY AWAY!! I hired them to renovate a condo bathroom in Dec. 2010. They tried to justify why they were installing the walls crooked, tiles were poorly spaced, and failed to follow directions and scratched up the hardwood floors. The job supervisor was often absent and they wound up shaving some $$ off the final bill for their mistakes. They finally redid the wall and "fixed" it. I put "fixed" in quotes there because now....less than 7 years later....I have to redo all the tiles. It was only a couple of years later that the grout started crumbling and then a few more before the walls started flexing. I tried to call them recently and it took three calls to get someone to call me back to see if they would consider working out an arrangement to redo their work for a discount with a general contractor to supervise them that I would pay for. The guy I spoke with said he would let me know some time in November......over a month later. How's that for customer service?! Now we're hiring someone else and it's costing over $6,000 to redo the work of All Renovations. STAY AWAY! If I can post pictures of the job they did, I gladly will.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review which is very similar to another one you posted nearly seven years ago. Sorry we weren't able to assist you but would like to mention a re-grouting option below. We took your feedback from seven years ago and have since made several changes within our company to enhance our bathroom expertise. We have also added experienced staff to help locate possible preexisting conditions on jobsites including unlevel walls or flooring, especially on older buildings, so all parties have realistic expectations prior to starting any projects. Unfortunately our warranty is for one year and we weren't able to offer a lifetime or extended warranty on your bathroom project. On a side note grout is prone to some cracking at some point depending on the grout provided by you. Please consider regrouting your wall tiles at this time since that seems to be your main concern. Also we had charged less than $5,000 for the entire bathroom remodel and you shouldn't be paying $6,000 just to retile the tub wall tiles which is your main concern. We wish you well on your bathroom and/or tub tile remodel at this time.

I am incredibly pleased with the work from All Renovations. We had them do a ton of work, including removing a powder room that was in the center of the house to open up the kitchen into the family room, create a new bathroom on the other side of the house, take down and add support for a load baring wall, create new windows, turned a window into a door, install recess lighting etc. The quality of the work was impeccable. Adrian (the foreman) had such a terrific attention to detail. I also appreciated his ability to identify workarounds to unforeseen issues in order to resolve the issues as efficiently and effectively as possible. I also appreciated that he identified ways for me to save money, such as when he noticed that the two windows we were removing could be reused in a new location in our house, versus buying brand new windows. Another very important factor that sets All Renovations apart from its competitors is their true professionalism, courtesies, and responsiveness. Both Adrian and Mir (the estimator), were incredibly responsive and professional. (I did not have that same experience with many other companies that I called in for estimates--either they were not timely with information, were condescending, just didn't get back to me, or their price points were incredibly high). Both Mir and Adrian were both very responsive, and returned my call, text, and emails immediately. I also appreciated that Adrian would always make sure I understood the work he was performing and when asking for my opinion would clearly explain the alternatives and pros and cons of each option. I would definitely use them again.

We contracted with Omar of All-Renovations to build a two car garage for us. We interviewed six contractors and choose him because his pricing was reasonable and his contract/bid was very detailed. Construction began in early April (2017) and ended in mid-May. I believe to total time from start to finish was approximately six weeks. Having a construction site at your home isn’t fun, so I was very happy that his crew got the thing built so quickly. There was someone there almost every day, including weekends. They did a very nice job. The concrete was poured so there’s a very slight peak at the rear corner next to the house, and the whole floor slopes to the low point at the corner next to the garage door furthest from the house. So any water that gets in the garage will flow away from the house and out the side next to the yard. This is very subtle (I doubt my wife even noticed). Sure will make hosing the thing out easy. We choose a single, large (18 foot) door. High winds can blow a garage door in if it’s not well supported. The concrete crew constructed a lip in the concrete just inside where the garage door closes to add support. I’d never seen this done before. The siding is a perfect match to what was on the house. The shingles were as close as you can get given the rest of the roof is 12 years old. We asked for a pull down set of stairs to access the attic so we can use it for storage. Last night, I went up there for the first time and was surprised to see that the attic had a floor and a light/switch – I didn’t ask for that, but it’s a nice touch. I’ve heard so many nightmare stories about contractors who take your money and disappear for months. With the exception of reading reviews, it’s hard to tell a good one from a bad one when you interview them. I don’t often write reviews, but my wife and I are so happy with the garage we got and the relatively short construction time that I decided to make an exception and write one.

Omar and Edwin from All Renovations did an awesome job on my recent bathroom remodel. This is the second time that I have had them do a bathroom in my house and their service and workmanship was great. They are prompt in meetings and appointments. They are honest and fair in pricing. And above all, they do high quality work in great time. The first job that they did for me was a simple bathroom update/replacement, but the most recent involved some tricky redesign of a previously bad concept. Their expertise enabled them to guide me to the right questions and it came out great! I have complete trust in them when they work in my house and I would recommend them to anyone.

In addition to renovating our two bathrooms, we also contracted All Renovations to build a portico addition at the front of our house and a two-car detached garage at the rear of the house. We could not be happier with the results. As the name of the company suggests, they do all kinds of renovations. However, this does not mean a single team of guys do all the various construction projects. Instead, All Renovations provided different teams of skilled specialists. There was a team that prepared the sites, dug and poured the footers, and built the foundation. There was a carpentry team that did the framing, set the engineered trusses, and finishing. There was a roofing team, a siding team, a gutter and flashing team, a garage door installer, and a concrete team that framed and poured the garage floor. There also were two foremen who coordinated and oversaw the project, trades and inspections. The benefit of having of all these teams is the overall high level of quality to all aspects of the job. The portico that was added to the 60-year-old house looks like it was original to the house. The architectural details of the portico match the house as does the profile and color of the siding, flashing, and the roof shingles as it was tied in to the existing entrance gable. These same architectural features were also included into the new detached garage resulting in one that truly compliments and “fits” with the original house. The fact that the All Renovations teams have the skill and desire to apply their talent is special. I have been an accomplished “DIY’er” for more than 20 years but I am in awe of the work they have done. I recognize and fully appreciate the skills of these specialist. I feel fortunate that I chose All Renovations for my projects and I’m certain that anyone choosing All Renovations will have similar results.

All Reno and I were very thorough in our discussions resolving all questions and detailing the work in our contract. So, when it came to start the work and during the work, everything went smoothly and as we planned.
Description of Work: We recently bought a house built in 1956 which still had two bathrooms mostly in its original condition barring toilets and sinks. Although in great shape for its age, it was time for a remodel. After much research, I inquired All Renovations for the work that I would need. After a few discussions and many questions, I hired them as all my questions/concerns were answered and we agreed in writing with a contract. The crew was impressive: talented, efficient, detailed and neat. Serious demo was required as the 50’s building practice for tile involves about 3”plus of concrete and lath behind the tiles (no concrete boards back then). The team got through most of it in one day. I could go on forever about the details but here is what makes them special to me: 1. Good, polite and patient customer service that address all details and include them in a contract. 2. Skilled crew that is capable to blend current construction practice with those from 60 years ago, for example matching the thickness of old plaster/steel lath walls with current drywall, Durock and tile. 3. Attention to detail with all work done including how the wall and floor tiles were laid and finishing trim to match the original 50’s trim. 4. Relationships with other professionals for referrals such as tile & flooring, cabinetry, and glass. 5. Capable to suit customization and flexible to let me finish where I desire. 6. Neatness. Let’s face it, demo/construction renovations are messy but they did a good clean up when all done. I already have contracted All Reno for more jobs and I confidently refer them to anyone.

We first hired All Renovations to do our master bath last summer; they did such an exceptional job that we hired them again to do our main bathroom. We could not be more pleased with the results....the bathroom looks fantastic and our guests rave about them. Omar and his crews are always great, and they were happy to answer any questions we had along the way. All in all, the entire process, from estimate to finished bathrooms, went very smoothly. We highly recommend All Renovations, and plan on using them for future renovation needs.

Description of Work: We had a floor installed in my daughters condo. The timing could not have been better. She was going out of town. I made a call to Omar and he responded! It will be a great Christmas present to my daughter and her future husband! Thank you to Freddy the installer! Great job!

We hired All Renovations to redo our master bathroom and are extremely pleased with the finished product. This was a modest renovation and we appreciated that no one tried to sell us anything more than what we were looking for. The process from getting the estimate to the finish was smooth and uncomplicated. Rocky and his crew were pleasant, respectful, and carefully cleaned up after themselves each day. Rocky and Omar were both readily available by phone, text or e-mail when we had questions. The work was done in a timely manner. We would definitely consider using All Renovations again in the future.

We absolutely could not be more pleased with both how the renovation went and the final product! From when Omar first came and gave us the estimate to when the crew finished the project, the process couldn't have gone more smoothly. The crew were prompt, pleasant, and did a great job cleaning up their work at the end of each day. They answered any questions we had along the way, and Omar was always available to offer advice which was great as we had never renovated a bathroom before. The finished project is beautiful, as the crew are all great craftsmen, and was done within the time period promised. After hearing horror stories from friends on their renovations and delays they encountered, we are so happy we choose All Renovations. We highly recommend them for renovations, and, in fact, plan on using them this fall for another bathroom renovation. All Renovations is terrific!
Description of Work: We needed our master bathroom completed renovated, due in part to a shower drain leak that had leaked to our downstairs family room.

Mir from All Renovations was contacted so that I could obtain an estimate for finishing my basement. Once I submitted the request online, he called shortly thereafter to setup a day and time. Mir arrived early on the agreed upon day and he provided a portfolio that showcased previous work that the company completed. Onsite he was able to answer all questions and provided some good options for finishing the project that would not result in excessive costs. Early, the following week I received an estimate via email. The estimate did not have every expense itemized, but it was the lowest one of the three contractors I had interviewed concerning this project. As it would turn out, I went with the contractor that was in the median range of price but they specialize almost exclusively in basements. Overall, I did have a good experience with All Renovations (even though it only turned out to be for an estimate) and Mir was professional as a representative of the company.
