Description of Work: Total garage rebuild - it came out really nice! Good craftsmanship, good quality. There was a small "oops" on the garage door and we were able to resolve it. He came over and fixed it as soon as we got in touch. Everyone was so polite and I had made a few upgrades while working on the project. His answer was always "No problem!" He worked to give me the best price possible. If there was ever a question during the build time we were able to sit down and work it out. He took care of all the permits, the zoning - everything! These guys were good - they picked up the nails, the debris and even pet our dog every once in a while.

Description of Work: Replaced a bathroom. Not as professional as we expected. Omar refused to monitor or review the work performed and relied exclusively on the worker. There was trust, but no verification. Willing to provide details, photos, but I read an almost identical story on your site from a home owner who used All Renovations.

Response from All Renovations Inc
We tried our best to resolve the clients concerns but all the items brought to our attention were well after the job was completed. The client was onsite and watched us perform the work with his input and never once said he wanted anything a different way. Upon job completion and a few months later the client wanted us to change things and do them a different way. Unfortunately, like most contractors, its difficult to go back and redo something the client was okay with during the initial remodeling process. This requires more budget and time and the client was not willing to pay for these additional items.

I believe the process went smoothly despite the fact the contractors were working in a very small area with their equipment because my place is a condo. Both workers showed up on time and stayed on the job. At first, I thought they were working too slowly, but when I noticed they were working taking time to make sure it would be done correctly, I changed my thoughts. Some days, the two workers arrived later than other days but they always stayed longer on those days to work the job. They usually informed me the night before as to the time they would arrive the next morning. The foreman even did some work in the bathroom ceiling which needed to be done and I was not charged for it. On top of that, I was given his telephone number that I could call if I had any questions about anything so that was a relief to know I could get my questions answered whenever I thought of them when they were not on the job. He also had access to my work phone number for which he could call me and discuss any issues that would arise during his time working. Overall, the work was done with much professionalism, thoroughness, and high integrity. I would definitely call them back to do any work in the future because I know I can depend on what they say and what they do.
Description of Work: The work performed for this job consisted of remodeling of master bathroom and kitchen which took a total of 2 1/2 weeks to complete the job. There is a small wait on cabinetry for the kitchen which consists of one piece that needs to be installed when it is delivered. The bathroom and kitchen both had old tile which had to be removed. In the bathroom, the ceiling was replaced with recessed lighting, new tile as a backsplash around the tub, new drywall, new subfloor and tiles laid, walls painted, tub replaced with new faucets as well as new vanity installed with medicine cabinet. In the kitchen, cabinets replaced, two sinks replaced with one sink plus faucets, walls painted, new granite countertops installed, new sub-floor with new tiles laid, as well as new recessed lights in the ceiling.

All Renovations was recommended to us by a close friend who had them completely renovate their baseement and add a custom bathroom with all antique fixtures. Their finished product looked amazing and had nothing but good things to say about the work and the value offered by All Renovations so we included them in our short list. After we called to make the appointment for a quote, Omar was able to accomodate a date and time very quickly. After he came to our house, he got back to us within a day with a quote for the entire renovation! We were able to review and make a few changes and discuss a final cost with Omar. He was by far the most responsive and business oriented of the contractors we had come out for estimates and using the model where we would purchase any finishing materials provided a value over the others. After signing, Omar informed us within a week we would hear from our foreman to schedule a date for a walk through of our basement. Our foreman's name was Edwin and he was very easy to work with. Anytime we had a question he was always very responsive. We made some changes to our design and we worked with Omar and Edwin on the cost changes and everything was done to our satisfaction. The crew worked very hard, were clean, and were all very friendly. They would often offer design recomendations if they thought something in the plan may not look quite right as designed. After starting the demo, Edwin provided us with the amount of each product to purchase based on the plans and any discussions we had with him so we could go order the products and ensure they would get delivered in time. Although we chose to deal with the permit office ourselves, Edwin and his crew always dealt with the building inspectors and ensured everything was done to code and passed the inspection. The project was completed on schedule and budget and Edwin ensured that we were completely happy with everything before packing up for the last time. Overall we were very happy with our experience. Everything was done very nicely and looks great! We are very happy with how it all turned out. Our bathroom looks very high-end and custom and really made the remainder of the basement feel as if it were part of the house. We are thrilled to have been able to take an un-usable section of our house and make it part of the living space. The only downside is now we need to remodel our other bathroom so it does not feel out of place next to our new spa-like bathroom downstairs. We would definitely use All Renovations again for any projects in our home.
Description of Work: We started with a partially finished basement in a 19040's townhome that needed a full renovation. We hired All Renovations to do a complete demo and refinish it with a living area, install a bathroom (shower, vanity, and toilet), and close out laundry room/storage room and build out a few closets. We developed an initial floorplan which we reviewd with Omar, the owner, who provided some design guidance and quoted against the plan to perform the entire job. The quoted job included the labor and building materials with finishing materials (flooring, bathroom fixtures, tile, etc.) being our responsibility resulting in some cost savings to us by not having to go through a middleman. He also gave us the option to deal with the permit office ourselves or he would do it for us. We had them do a complete demo and disposal of the existing plaster walls and backing as well as lights and electrical. The overall job required the removal and relocation of a toilet and the addition of a sink and a shower rough in in the foundation, waterproofing, framing, insulation, electrical, plumbing, drywall, and all finishings. Specifically, we had them install cork flooring, doors (including a pocket door), recessed lighting, a full tile bathroom with some custom tile work, modern toilet, vanity, and shower fixtures. Essentially a full remodel of the basement into usable space. Some of the work performed was added by us making some design choices later in the process and the information was easily communicated with Omar and any additional pricing was negotiated before any work was done to be sure we were OK with any increase in cost or time.

After the contract was signed, the foreman came to the location to discuss the job and take measurements. He was fantastic and immediately called out some things to be considered in the planned layout (this was our first big remodeling job and we did not have architect plans, so his/their guidance was helpful). He came back for one more visit before work began. When we were able to agree on a start date, the team showed up on-time, prepared to work. They were professional and friendly. We reviewed the schedule daily to ensure we were on the same page and that my expectations were in line with what they could do. Additionally, both my foreman and estimator were very patient with my questions and requests for add on work. Demolition went smoothly and was cleaned up immediately. Framing, installation of plumbing and electrical occurred next and required some discussion, to clarify my requests and ensure everything had been considered (our house was build in 1939, so it has it's quirks). The foreman was great in coaching me through things to consider and possible changes to my original plan. All the recommendations were thoughtful and fair. The finish work (tile, painting, staining) went smoothly. Throughout the whole process, I was always aware of the status of things, possible delays or challenges. It was a very manageable experience, which we honestly were not expecting. Now that it's done - we love the end product! All Renovations did a fantastic job and we would definitely recommend them to others in need of this type of work!
Description of Work: All Renovations remodeled an unfinished basement. They helped with many things; troubleshooting placement of items, sealing of exterior walls, relocation of wash room facilities, replacement of stairs, drywalling, installation of a half-bathroom, installation of a new exterior door, plus all electrical and plumbing associated with the requested work. They completed finish work such as tiling, painting, installation of trim and fixtures.

Description of Work: After getting several estimates we went with All Renovations because 1) they were one of the more reasonably priced 2) they could get to our project earlier than others. Omar was very professional and kept in contact with us through e-mail. He stopped by at least once during the project. Elcar was the lead worker on our project with one other person. The other person did some finishing work on his own one day as Elcar started another project. We were not happy with it and Elcar agreed that is need to be fixed. He worked another day to fix everything to the way we asked him. We would be happy for Elcar to work on another project in our home. It took approximately 10 days to complete project.

Remodeling both bathrooms took approximately 2 weeks from start to finish. Each morning the same 1 or 2 men showed up. Before I left for work we would coordinate on what I wanted where and what they expected to complete that day. They took direction well and helped me decide where/how to put certain things (corner shelves in shower, towel bars...). They started with the full bath which included removing tile from all 4 walls and the floor and replacing that with new tiles around just the shower (with accent tile) and on the floor. They installed drywall to the remainder of the walls and installed all new fixtures, and vanity. They re-installed our existing toilet, did some plumbing for the tub and sink and painted everything including both sides of the door. During the demo they discovered an issue with the wall studs so had to add extra work (and cost) to fix that problem, but I'm sure the walls are better structurally now than they were. When they were installing the tiles in the shower they realized that we had two shades of white tile and the wrong type of grout. I was still at work so they went to Home Depot to buy new/additional tile and the correct grout and fronted the purchase with some of their own money until we had enough cash to reimburse them. A few messes and accidents occurred, like demo debris getting into our HVAC vents and cutting all the way through the wall to install the new recessed mirror. If they didn't notice the errors themselves, I pointed them out and they fixed it. The half bath was a breeze after the full bath. They replaced the vinyl flooring with tile and installed a new vanity and all new fixtures and some plumbing. The also painted the whole bathroom including door and re-installed our existing toilet. They cleaned up the house once all the dirty work was done and kept their tools and supplies tidy when they left for the day. Overall they were great to work with and performed good work. But some work seemed rushed like a few uneven tiles and cut lines in the shower, dark marks along the top of the tub where they installed new tiles and paint drips. Also, and unexpected to them, the paint tape they used to hold cardboard in place where they were walking across our hardwood floors pulled the varnish up off the floors when they removed it.
Description of Work: My husband and I bought our 1950s townhouse 2 years ago. The 1.5 bathrooms were in need of remodeling but we didn't know how or where to begin. So after multiple requests for estimates from companies to remodel both bathrooms, we went with All Renovations because they were well priced, had good reviews and kept in touch as we took time to make our decision as to who to use. They even reduced their proposed estimate to get us closer to our budget even though they would be taking a hit on their profit.

HORRIBLE...The owner showed up in his BMW with all his licenses and degrees, and I NEVER saw him again. Everything I asked them to do, was done wrong...but a couple of the things that I STILL remember...I ordered a medicine cabinet, and they cut out my wall 16 inches off center to put it in...so my bathroom mirror was about a foot off center of my sink...they tiled my walk-in shower and just added about an 1" of uneven slate tile at the top and called it a day...After I called, they fixed it... And after asking them to tile the walk-in shower, they tiled the ENTIRE bathroom....walls and everything...and then acted like I was CRAZY when I told them to take the tile down... Then they put in my bathtub...WITHOUT a SPOUT...bathtub...no bathspout...after they fixed it, called another contractor in to check it out...even though it 'was under warranty' didn't want them back in my home... AND, all the hardware was hung wrong...I gave up...I took a ruler and pencil to show them where to hang my towel/hand/toilet paper bars...and it was ALL wrong...everytime I reach for my toilet paper in my hallway bath and it is on the wrong side...I think of ALL RENOVATIONS....I had to correct everything they did to hang all the 'hardware'... They subcontract everything...and the subcontractor tried, but he was never here...but the ICING on the cake...was when I had a leak under my new sink...and found an 'Ortega Refried Bean' can (from MY recycling bin) under my NEW sink catching a leak...I actually had to ask them to fix the leak...since as I told them 'my recycled can is overflowing'...I have updated several houses, and this remodel was the WORST...they are the reason I joined Angies list....
Description of Work: I asked them for labor on remodeling two full bathrooms...they were GREAT working with other providers for the 'hardware', I paid them for labor...

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our company. We are only just becoming aware of the majority of these complaints. The only incident we have on record was the shower tile being extended into the bathroom area. We were notified and promptly rectified this oversight on our part. We also checked in with the client via email and phone and were never notified about any of the other incidents which would have led to an immediate release of our crew members once verified. Prompt quality and customer service is very important to our company and we can assure you that if we had been notified in our customer service department or even with the sales rep, we would have prevented the majority of these shortcomIngs as the client indicated. Now two years later this unpleasant surprise due to our commitment to client satisfaction doesn't help either party. We can assure you that the process would have been 100% smoother if our sales rep or customer service was involved. At All Renovations we assess ALL client complaints promptly and these types of complaints, submitted in a timely manner thereby giving us ample time for correction, are NOT acceptable standards for our company.

Though I did not choose All Renovations for my project, anyone considering such an endeavor without including them in their decision process is making a mistake. There estimate was fair, understandable, and competitive with their peers. They may be exactly what you are looking for... just give them a chance to show you what they can do.
Description of Work: Omar came out and provided an estimate for a patio project I was considering; he was punctual, engaging and entertained my multitude of questions. His cost estimate was fair, clearly itemized, and competitive with the other vendors I solicited. I am glad to have included them in my evaluation.

I can't say enough about how well All Renovation's work crew performed. They gutted the space quickly and had it framed and ready for drywall in about two weeks. Throughout, the crew was professional, hard-working; they kept the work area clean and noise and dust to a minimum. Their foreman, Adrian, was excellent at managing the myriad details of the project. He was precise in everything he did and was particularly adept in finding creative solutions to the inevitable problems that arise during a big project like this. The punch list at the end was minimal, and several weeks after the job was essentially completed, there were no problems that required them to come back to fix. Needless to say, we were extremely happy with the work, the workmanship and the final product. We may have some other projects to do next year, and we will definitely be looking to All Renovation again to do the work.
Description of Work: We needed to completely update our basement, which meant gutting it and starting over, including turning an old exterior stairwell into a new laundry room, installing a full kitchen, replacing the windows and floors, punching through an exterior wall to install a new outside door, upgrading lights and electrical, and even moving a structural supporting beam. The only thing it didn't include was redoing the bathroom, which had already been upgraded. Omar at All-Renovation did a great job walking through all of the details and planning out the design. There was no need for an architect since All Renovation did all the design work. As is inevitable, we didn't think of everything, so there were a number of change orders, which in my experience is where contractors often take the opportunity to boost their profit margin, but in this case, All Renovation was more than reasonable in pricing out changes, and the overall cost was still pretty reasonable. All Renovation gets around the problem of pricing fixtures and details at the "industrial" standard, which generally gets you shoddy goods, by asking the owner to buy more of the materials than some contractors do. That meant that we became intimately familiar with Home Depot and Ikea; it was occasionally a hassle to do that, but in the end, we got what we wanted and the costs were under our control.

The bathroom in my condo was in desperate need of a thorough renovation. It was built in the late 1980s, which was evidently a terrible time for bathroom design. I received a few estimates but all things considered I was most confident going with All Renovations, and specifically I was impressed with Omar’s (the owner) knowledge of the business and willingness to spend time discussing my options. I had the bathroom completely gutted and then everything built up anew, including the ceramic tile shower, floor to ceiling tile designed with different size tiles and at different angles, new lighting (recessed and vanity), re-location of electrical elements, and installation of new toilet, vanity, and other hardware. Omar recommended a certain foreman to handle the job and I am glad that he did because that fellow in particular did an excellent job. I made a couple design changes midstream and Omar was happy to accommodate my evolving wishes. I endorse All Renovations and would be happy to provide a verbal testimonial.
Description of Work: My bathroom was entirely renovated by All Renovations. Much of what I summarize here is described in detail in the next section. Nothing in the bathroom was worth salvaging (at the time of the renovation it was 27 old, original to the condo). The bathroom was completely demolished and rebuilt using brand new materials and modern design techniques. Ceramic tile was laid from the the floor the the ceiling and that same tile was used to build a shower where the unsightly tub once was. Even the ceiling was re-drywalled because I moved the exhaust fan to the center of the bathroom (closer to the shower) than the original layout had it located. After the walls were finished the vanity, granite vanity top, toilet, frameless shower door, and lighting were installed. I am very particular about quality of work and throughout the entire process I scrutinized every detail. I can say with confidence that the job was completed on schedule, at cost, and the quality of work was of the highest standard.

The service was bad. They couldn't read the schematic and the quality of the craftsmanship was unprofessional. They did not give me the manpower that they said they were going to.
Description of Work: I used All Renovations for some work on our house. We used them about two and a half months ago for the kitchen and flooring and some electrical work. We went with them because of a good rating on Angie's List but they were also recommended to us by a friend. The problem was the owner subcontracted to someone who he said works for him but not sure that was the case.

Thanks for your feedback regarding our business relationship on your particular project. We strive to use crew members that strictly work for our company at any given time period until the job is entirely completed. We don't allow our crew members to have any part time jobs with any other company while we are employing them. Unfortunately, this particular job had to be started a few weeks ahead of schedule due to the client's maternal requirements and we had to produce this job simultaneously with another job that was already in production. We did notify the client about this situation and did our best to meet the strict job completion deadline by working late hours with our limited crew members due to the simultaneous job production. The project was completed on time as we had promised minus some punchlist items. The client provided us with punchlists on a few occasions which we addressed immediately until the client was satisfied. The schematic diagram for the kitchen provided to us by the cabinet retailer and client contained a few abnormal configurations for some of the cabinets which we rectified with extra framing at no additional cost to the client, although it cost us labor, materials, and time to this project. At All Renovations we understand that a lack of remodeling design understanding will delay all project completion therefore costing us time and profit. We have been installing kitchens for well over a decade and certainly have the experience to understand any conventional design presented to us thereby helping us avoid errors and lost profits.

We appreciate the time you took in reviewing our company. Although we have been doing very SATISFACTORY business with this particular client for over 5 years it was unfortunate that only a door installation was presented by the client. We have done bathroom, kitchen, and painting projects in the past with 100% satisfaction, and were only reviewed on a small project with a door install. The door was provided by the client from a retailer of their choice and we simply installed the door with framing and flashing work. We thrive in customer satisfaction to the best of our abilities but at times a manufacturer defect such as gaps in between doors or a pre-existing condition around the door is outside of our warranty work. We try and install all the possible framing, flashing, and caulking as needed to help adjust for any possible defects at no additional cost to our clients as deemed appropriate. This method may not work 100% but we do our best to satisfy our client's while remaining fair to our crew members' obligations.

There was a delay in starting the first bathroom; I wanted to start the first part of October, to ensure that both bathrooms were completed well before Thanksgiving, as I had company coming. However, Omar called and advised me that his foreman/workman, Adrian, would not be able to start before the 17th of October. He assured me that the delay would still allow the work on both bathrooms to be completed by Thanksgiving. It ended up taking more than three weeks total for the first bathroom, but there were some changes made to the original work order, and a few minor issues to be corrected, which were done promptly. The second bathroom took two weeks, with just a couple of minor issues which were attended to within a very reasonable amount of time. Between the two bathrooms, I purchased items from five or six different companies, some local, some online. I had a vision of what the bathrooms would look like when finished, and I have to say, when finished, they surpassed all my expectations. The tile work looks beautiful, as nice a job (in both bathrooms) as I've ever seen in any home. If you call All Renovations, you will find that they are honest, and give you excellent value for your money. The foreman will take measurements and instruct you every step of the way in the purchasing of bathroom tile, grout, caulk, fixtures, and hardware. (BTW, I STRONGLY suggest that you obtain a knowledgeable store clerk to help you when purchasing the shower/bathtub fixtures, as some of the fixtures do not include all of the pieces needed to assemble them, and must be purchased separately.) When I was making the case for renovating these bathrooms, my husband complained that the old bathrooms were just fine, we didn't need to update them (even though we'd lived with the old stuff for 20+ years) we could use the money somewhere else more effectively, etc. BUT NOW, even he agrees...they look just BEAUTIFUL!! He loves to tease me now, and says "FINALLY, you listened to me and updated those awful old bathrooms!!" Call Omar and have him give you a free estimate today. You won't be disappointed, I promise!!
Description of Work: We wanted to remodel our two upstairs bathrooms; our house was built in 1962 and had the old-style 1950s tile, and no matter how much elbow grease I used or what product I cleaned with, they just looked dingy and dirty all the time. I interviewed several companies for the remodeling task, but I got a very positive feeling from Omar, and he had some really good ideas that I hadn't thought of, either. He said that each bathroom would take no more than 10 working days (two weeks) each. He agreed to demolish the old tile, floor and walls, replace all the backer board, move the shower heads up, along with the new light fixtures, and install new tile, toilets, vanities, shower/tub, etc., along with accessories such as the towel bars, tp holders, etc. Additionally, we had him install new exhaust fans and bathroom doors. And he would paint everything, too. One-stop bathroom remodeling, tile, plumbing, electrical, and painting included!! Whoo hoo!!
