Arrived on time for the estimate. Rob was professional and provided an estimate on the spot. Price was reasonable when Angies List discount was applied (10%). Arrived on time; completed the job in two visits due to schedule and weather. Fence looks very well constructed, using quality materials. Removed all debris and left yard clean.

Rob and his crew did an outstanding job. We discussed the job back in August when Rob and his crew installed a new fence. The fence job was outstanding and during the design, we asked Rob about building a pergola. Rob did a design for us and an estimate to give us an idea of measurements and budget. He also mentioned that if we waited till winter, during his slow time, he might be able to work with us on price a bit. Several months later Rob calls us back to see if we where still interested. We were and Rob came out to firm up the details. In our meeting we had changed the design. Rob has a great sense of esthetics and design. He turned our ideas into a great design and was able to stay within our budget. The design evolved from a standard rectangle design to a baseball diamond shape that fitted into a corner of our backyard with sight lines diagonally across the yard to maximize the views of the plantings. The crew was on time and worked through days of extreme cold to stay on schedule. The finished pergola looks great. Rob also replaced my shed doors which had sever winter damage. One of the pergola sight lines looked upon the shed and the doors distracted from the view. The replacement doors that Rob's crew built were outstanding and better than the originals. The pergola turned out even better than we had envisioned.

I first had Adirondack Fence replace some split rail fencing at our house in Vienna. Rob came and walked through the yard with me and noted everything I wanted done. Even though his bid was a bit higher than others, I liked his attitude and went with his bid. The work was done in a timely manner, his crew was professional and dis a fantastic job. When we moved to our new property, I needed some fencing built to keep our dogs in. Again Rob and his guys came out and built a beautiful privacy fence in one day! The quality of the work is suburb. I also had Rob and the guys do some work on the extensive 3 board fencing around my almost 10 acres. They replaced several posts and rails, and he even found and repaired some sections we had missed on our original walk through. They also rehung several gates that were oversized that had sagged and were very difficult to ope, and installed wheels to help support them. Again, the work was completed in one day and was beyond my expectations. I will continue to call Adirondack Fence for future fencing needs, and have no hesitation recommending them to anyone looking for quality fence work.

Rob Darnell and his crew were exceptional. Contractor selection was based on the excellent Angie's List ratings/reviews and the strength of Rob's presentation of options and general helpfulness. He invests a lot of time up-front without any assurance of getting the work. I did not get estimates from anyone else. By his own acknowledgment, Rob is probably not the cheapest fence contractor, but in my view he was very cost-effective when you consider quality as well as $. Installation went smoothly, though unavoidably impeded by several days of terrible weather. Total job took three days. Plenty of hands-on work by Rob himself, with most of the labor performed by a two-man crew. Very good client interface during the job, especially when a situation warranted customer input. Punctual (almost precise) in showing up for appointment and on work days. Cleanup was excellent. I am completely satisfied, highly recommend this company and would definitely to use again.

It took a little while to get the written estimate and set up the installation date. The workers showed up promptly on the set date and completed the job in a timely manner. The shrubbery was thoroughly removed -- better than we expected. Everything was cleaned up nicely when finished. The fence and gate are very sturdy and well constructed. Overall we are very happy with the results -- we just wish we had called them the first time we needed a new fence and gate instead of using Carter Fence.

I was very pleased. They were prompt, efficient and responsive.

The job was done just as we wanted. The fence was put up without disturbing our plants. The work crew was efficient and polite. Any mess was cleaned up and carted away. We ended up with a beautiful fence that our neighbors have praised and that we are very happy with. We were impressed with Rob's professional manner, his promptness, and his willingness to correct any little thing we were not completely satisfied with. When my husband and I were staining the fence we discovered two places where the crew had missed a couple of need nails.ty. I emailed Rob and he promptly came by and fixed those spots. We definitely would recommend him to anyone installing a fence.

The experience was outstanding. From the moment I called Rob, the owner, for an estimate to do the project, to signing the contract, scheduling the project, and completing the project it was a very positive experience. Rob patiently explained the impact of various options on the project and we worked through a design that would fit my budget and the constraints of my backyard. On the day of the project, Rob's crew showed up at the designated time. They were very professional, courteous, and meticulously cleaned up the site after the.job was completed. I plan to use Rob and Adirondack for another project. I would recommend Adirondack Fencing Company.

Estimate: Rob arrived at our agreed upon time, working with us to understand our needs and wants before he went to survey the backyard and existing fence. A short time later he came back, provided us with an overview of his inspection and gave us a verbal estimate. He gave us the cost/per foot for the type of fence we were looking to install as well as a cost per gate. He laid out what they would do as part of the service to include how the posts are secured and the gate construction. Other than not receiving a written estimate which Rob declined to do based on his past experiences, the was about as good as I could expect from this part of the process. His estimate was by far and way the lowest of the 3 we received, which caused us a bit of concern wondering what the quality of the work would be like. A web review of general costs for this kind of fence suggested he was more in line with national averages then the other estimates we received, which made us wonder what the others would be doing for the extra money since the materials and work involved was pretty much the same across all the estimates. Coupled with the other positive reviews we saw on Angie's list, we felt Rob was the best choice. Work: It took about 3 weeks before the work started, but was finished in one day. Rob called a few days ahead of time to let us know then he would be coming. He and his team arrived about 7:00am as promised. I stayed only for the first hour before heading off to my job, confirming the work to be done and any adjustments (e.g. fence location/gate locations). I'm not sure if Rob stayed much of the day or long enough to get the team going, but when I arrived home around six that evening, the fence installation had been completed and the 3-person crew there was in the process of cleaning up and loading the old fence onto their their truck. I didn't talk to the crew much, but from my observations they were very courteous and profession. They did an excellent job of clean-up. The overall job was as good as I could have expected. The gates were well constructed, the fence posts vertical and evenly spaced, and the wire fencing all the way around. I guess time will tell how well the job was done (e.g. warping, loose posts, etc), but I couldn't have expected any better then what they had provided that day. We made a good choice and based on the quality of our job, I would recommend Rob to others.

I am a repeat customer of Adirondack Fence and the reason being, I can always depend on Rob's expert advice. I first used this company several years ago and after talking to Rob the very first time, I knew he was honest, trustworthy and wasn't trying to sell me something I didn't want. He gave me several options and explained the difference in the types of wood used so I could achieve the look I wanted and still not break my budget. I use to be a price shopper but I've come to know, you only get what you pay for and I know this company does beautiful work and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a quality job.

After reading the solid reviews from Angie's List and visiting the homes of two previous clients, I decided to go with Adirondack Fences and its owner, Rob. From the get-go, Rob was responsive and honest in his feedback and recommendations. Though I wanted the fence installed in the spring, troubles with the neighbors delayed until August. That caused unnecessary frustration and a few challenging exchanges. Nevertheless, Rob and I worked through it and work started promptly as later planned. Within three days, the guys had the fence up and looking great. Neighbors were effusive with their praise. More importantly, it was exactly what I wanted and expected. Now the real fun begins... powerwashing and treating it!

Robert Darnell (Owner) arrived on time for the estimate appointment and was very personable. He described how I could save money on the project by matching the style of existing neighbor?s fence which saved me at least 60' of fencing. He described his/team work methods and materials he uses on jobs. He sent me his final estimate in a couple of days via email. I selected Adirondack Fence Co. due to Robert?s professionalism, money saving suggestions, and reasonable estimate. The day before the project start date, Robert and his crew came by and unloaded job/work materials. The next day the work crew arrived at 7AM. It started raining hard at between 8-9AM and the crew continued to work as rain was not an issue. Robert and Crew completed the job same day around 4PM. They cleaned up the yard/work site very well. My neighbors were impressed and even asked for a quote for their fence as well. Adirondack Fence Co. did such a good job and I am very happy with my new fence. I will recommend Robert Darnell/ Adirondack Fence Co. to anyone needing fence work.

He was very responsive, and he came out and assessed my fence and within a few days I accepted the contract .He gave me a date to do the work and he did the work perfectly! For me personally, I thought it was a good price because I thought it would cost much more (I live in a town home).

Adirondack Fence installed the fencing that was requested and discussed at our bid meeting, provided the best pricing and materials, and when the schedule changed, they were upfront with the notification so there were no surprises. I would definitely use them again for fencing. This was a great experience.

I highly recommend Adirondack Fence! I contacted several fence companies off of Angie's List and Adirondack was definitely the most responsive, easy to work with, and reasonably priced. Some of the other companies that were highly rated either never called me back, or didn't show up for appointments that I had taken off work to schedule. A very frustrating process! Rob came to my backyard without me needing to be there, took measurements, sent me a quote that day via e-mail and set up an appointment for the next month to install in one day. It's just Rob and 3 salaried guys that he always works with. They matched our neighbour's fence that was already in place along one side, and the whole thing looks fabulous! He was also very clear about what we were paying for, which was very helpful in deciding if we wanted multiple gates, how far down along the house we wanted to go, type of wood, etc.

Rob gave me the estimate that was very reasonable. The AFC reviews were also good. I had only one issue - the part of the fence that I was going to replace was installed by my neighbors long time ago. Since they decided to take some costs for the new fence I had to talk through all the details with them and I called Rob 10 times with different questions I was asked. Rob was always very polite. The job took one day only. Everything went well. Love my new fence. Highly recommend this company.

The reason I initially joined Angie's List was to be able to connect with a company like Adirondack Fence. Had I been relegated to google searches, there's a decent chance I never would have come across Rob and his team. My experience with Adirondack alone has justified the cost of my membership. From the outset, Rob was courteous and professional. The project involved installing an alternate board cedar fence and two gates. Because of a number of reasons outside of Rob's control, the design of the fence was a constantly changing issue. Existing fencing on neighbors' property presented potential issues. Rob simply designed around it. And when the issues ultimately disappeared because the neighbors agreed to have their own fencing taken down, Rob didn't miss a beat. In fact, he removed the old fencing on both sides for free and re-designed our fence to match what we wanted all along. And he did it without charging us a cent more than he originally estimated. And the two neighbors who now share our fence are absolutely delighted. We were new homeowners who were just trying our best to make everything as perfect as we could. Rob and his team recognized that and made sure that we got even more than we were hoping for. It is impossible for me to recommend Adirondack any more than I am for your fencing needs. He listens. He delivers. And he makes sure you are 100% satisfied. I am glad to read in the reviews that others agree. You simply cannot go wrong by calling Adirondack.

A tree in our backyard had fallen and taken down two sections of our fence. I left a message with Adirondack Fence Co. and Rob Darnell was very responsive. He came out and we discussed putting the fence back up and replacing posts. Because he was so accommodating and his estimate was very reasonable, I asked him to do some additional repairs - replace another fence post, repair a split, and put in a new gate. Rob understood our need to have the work done as soon as possible since we had a dog who couldn't run the backyard while the fence was down. The work was done the following week and we are extremely pleased with the work that was done. They did an excellent job and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Adirondack Fence. The quality of the work was excellent and the cost was very reasonable.

Working with Rob Darnell with Adirondack was one of the easiest and satisfying experiences I've ever had when hiring a contractor. One thing is clear, Rob and his team know fences -- everything about fences -- and their knowledge shows when helping to plan the job as well as their execution and craftsmanship when building. Rob was extremely responsive during the initial outreach and quickly scheduled an on-site visit that generated the estimate. Adirondack came in below several other estimates I had solicited. Judging from other positive reviews for Adirondack on Angie's List and the reasonable price point, I elected to hire Adirondack. I am very glad I did! Adirondack was flexible throughout the process to accomodate last minute requests and were always on the job when they said they would be and finished within the time-frame we had agreed upon. Their meticulous attention to detail and thorough clean-up following the job was simply outstanding. I would heartily recommend Adirondack to anyone seeking to build a quality fence at a fair price.

We found AFC on Angit's List. They came out to give an estimate (with which we were very pleased) within a couple of days. It took about a week for us to decide on which bid to accept. Once we did, AFC was able to start work in two short weeks. They completed the entire project in one week's time, despite the fact that we had at least one rainy day when they could not work. I was very impressed with the fact that they take on only one project at a time, and that the owner, Rob, was at our house for at least part of each day that the crew was there. The first day, they removed the old fence and all of the vines from our neighbors' yards that had grown attached to our fence. When they left, they took all of the rubbish with them. They even took some rubbish that was left behind by other, less conscientious contractors who have done work at our house in the past. We were so grateful!! Rob and his team and AFC were very careful about not leaving behind anything that would be dangerous for our beloved puppy, and on top of that they were super nice to him while they were here. Rob told us that he has dogs, himself. This meant that he understood our concerns, and had some wonderful suggestions about how best to fence the yard in a way that would make it a nice space for us and a safe space for our little guy. The team seemed to enjoy their work as well as working together. They were highly professional in every interaction with us. It's very nice to know that you're getting something that someone enjoys building for you! We couldn't recommend AFC more highly. We would definitely call them again for other needs in the future!

Although it took several e-mails back and forth to finally hear from Rob, once I did he was great. He was able to provide an estimate via e-mail, once we gave him the parameters and what we were looking for. The number he gave was competitive with our other estimates. His men came out and finished the product in one day. They did one section of the fence wrong (didn't finish the fence along a section of wall), so I e-mailed Rob. He apologized for the miscommunication between him and his workers, and they came out 2 days later to resolve the issue. Overall, very happy with their work.

Rob was very responsive. He met with us within 24 hours of contacting him. Answered all our emails within 24 hours. Installed fence within 10 days of signing contract. Showed up at scheduled time and completed the job the same day. Fence construction and workmanship exceeded our expectations.

I found his quote competitive. The work occurred about six weeks after signing the contract. On the day work was scheduled, I met Rob and his team. Rob reiterated what was going to be done and answered my questions. When I returned home from work, I had a lovely fence. I contacted Rob regarding a minor issue and he returned to my property the next day. I appreciated his quick response on what many contractors would have considered insignificant. My experience with Adriondock Builders mirrors the extremely favorable reviews on Angie's List. I would highly recommend this company.

I contacted Adirondack fence in late spring for a bid on a backyard fence. Rob Darnell came within a short period to see the project and discuss, and then turned around an estimate for me within just a couple days. His busy schedule and our summer travel meant we waited about 2+ months to schedule the project. But, he was easy to communicate with by email regarding scheduling and adjustments to the bid (cutting piece of the project out to save money), and then he and his crew showed up promptly on the agreed upon start date. They carefully consulted with us again about the scope of the project and got right to work.
