They quoted around $3000. The guy who came out was great. We just decided not to do the project at all, but he was fine. Everything was quite good.

Very well. Punctual and explained all my options. When I had an objection from my neighbor who thought my replacement fence was going onto her property, Adirondack came back out to look at the plat of my property and offered to move the fence for no additional cost is there was an error on their part. There was not. They had followed the plat lines precisely and my neighbor dropped the whole thing, but I appreciated the fact that the company came back to talk with me about the problem and was very professional. They were punctual and reasonable in price and the fence looks great. Recently I used the company to do an additional boundary around the fence to help prevent my dog from digging under the fence. They also did that promptly and efficiently.

Very good experience. Rob fit me in to meet my deadline and was very patient with all my many questions. We will be doing a deck at a later date. Rob is a really nice guy and had good workmen as well. They cut the tops of the gates just as I asked and did a thorough cleanup despite the mud from some major rain that week. Ask to see samples of the cedar and pine beforehand. I wanted to change my mind when they arrived with the pine and Rob would have accommodated me within a week but I decided to go ahead and am happy with the results. A very good hands on small company.

Both the fence and the deck look great. Rob is easy to work with and did not nickel and dime us for small changes. He gets work by his reputation, so he seemed to bend over backwards to make us happy. He even suggested some simple changes (after the project had started) to make the fence and deck look better together, then did not charge us any extra for the change. We like the idea of working with one guy - the owner, estimator, and installer. I would highly recommend him.

The project went extremely well. Rob is very easy to work with and he and his helper constructed a beautiful fence. As with any project there are always some unknown's to come up and this is where working with Rob is so great as he readily adapts the project to meet the homeowner's needs.

Rob really did a super job. His workmanship was first rate, he showed up when he said he was going to, and in two days the job was done from start to finish, including all the details and cleanup. A model contractor. I've dealt with lots of contractors in the process of renovating two homes, and I have nothing but contempt for half of them and way too much advice for another 45%. Rob makes it into the 5% category of actually doing what he promises. If I were a contractor, this is how I would behave. I'm not a friend of the guy, and this is an honest no bull recommendation. Fencing? Don't waste your money on Long Fence or these other exorbitantly priced conventional contractors who are ripping off the public to pay for high overhead. Rob is the way to go. One downside: the guy is busy. Good contractors usually are, and we had to wait almost a month for him to actually do the work from the time he visited the house. But again, having dealt with lousy contractors, it is SO worth it to wait and then deal with someone who is straight with you and does the job properly and in a very timely fashion. The price was very reasonable.

Found Adirondack Builders ~ Custom Fencing ~ on Angies List. I read other reviews. Gave Rob a call explained what my wife and I wanted. Told him we already had another large fence company come out, and gave us an estimate. Rob said what he could do, with out looking at the job. We live in Southern Maryland (Charles County) and he is in Falls Church, VA. I did take pictures of our old fence and emailed them to Rob. My wife and I are so glad we went with Rob. For the quality and workmanship the price was the easy part. Rob called ahead to make sure our install date was still good, and he let us know what time he was leaving from VA. and when he would should be arriving. They completed the job really fast. I thought it would have taken the whole day, but they were finished in about 3-4 hours. They cleaned up the area after the job was completed. Again we are very pleased with our brand new 8 ft. high cedar fence. I would defiantly call him again, or recommend Adirondack Builders.

HIRE HIM. Don't waste time with anyone else. The workmanship is beautiful: despite lumpy, bumpy ground, the fence is even and level. He spaced the board-on-board so that we have true privacy. As an added kindness, he removed two ugly metal posts in the back of our yard without any extra charge. When I asked him, after agreeing to a contract, what it would cost for two extra feet of fencing, he said "Nothing." A previous reviewer on Angie's List described him as "generous," and that was a powerful descriptor for me in choosing Adirondack. Thank you, to the person who said that. I reiterate: Generous, excellent workmanship at reasonable prices with pleasant business dealings. Need I say more? I would not consider anyone else.

I can't say enough about Rob Darnell and his professionalism, skill and generosity. I found him on Angie's List, called him because he was close by and appeared to be a small operation, and he called back quickly. I asked him for an estimate on replacing a portion of the fencing around my back yard. He was extremely informative about the options available to me, made no attempt to oversell me and presented a plan and estimate that suited our needs. After the snows subsided, he called with an estimated date for beginning the project, turned up as arranged, and was a pleasure to see each afternoon when I returned from work and found him at work. He is true gentleman, help us out with disposing of some items in the backyard and was personable to everyone in my household. His work exceeded our expectations in quality and cost. I look forward to working with him again. I highly, highly recommend him to all.

After getting a dog, we decided to complete the fencing in our backyard. Fence work is expensive so we got several quotes from local businesses. Adirondack's quote was several hundred dollars less than the others, so we gave them the job and are glad we did! Rob (the owner) did all the work himself and actively consulted us about details as they arose, so we felt part of the ongoing decision-making process. The fence itself is both sturdy and attractive - but Rob went well beyond this. He was mindful of our goal of having a protected area for the puppy so when he saw a few areas along the older existing fence where the dog might escape, he came up with a creative low-tech solution to securing these areas (and he did not charge us for this extra work!). I would definitely hire him again!

Rob Darnell and his crew built a fence and shed for us. The job was relatively straighforward except for the shed, which needed to be custom built and we wanted it incorporated into the fence so we could access the shed from outside the yard. Rob handled the design and built the shed exactly how we wanted it. Several other companies only complained about the complexity since the shed was built on a hill with a retaining wall; Rob took the challenge and provided us with a solution. A few issues arose about the fence construction during the project but instead of making rash decisions, Rob continually consulted us to make sure we were happy with any changes before he implemented them . The job was completed for the agreed upon price and we have already recommended his services to other friends.

The contractor did a superb job! The quality is triple A! I will hire him again if I have the chance. Mr. Darnell is very courteous, cheerful, and trustworthy. He showed up when he said he would. I was very satisfied with the work as well as the price, which I give a triple A. I've gotten many compliments about the neatness of work!

They were great. For what they did their prices were very reasonable. They were timely and they work proficiently.
