Met for estimate and talked through itemized portions of project and costs for each. Price met my expectations for this type of project, which included a teardown of a brick wall that was leaning and replacing with a 10ft linear wood fence, compared to the high estimates I got from the brand fence companies like Long. Due to backlog of work the job didn't start for 3-4 weeks, which we had discussed and I expected. When the date of work was scheduled they arrived on time and finished the work in one day as estimated. Fence looks great, and Adirondack was courteous, not only to me, but to the tenants that live at the property. Would definitely use Adirondack again. Their honesty and approach to their profession is exactly what I look for when searching for good contractors.

Overall I had a fabulous experience with Rob and Adirondack Fence. Rob came out to give me an estimate soon after I called, and spent plenty of time answering my questions and talking about options. I also had some questions about what to do with the old deck in my back yard, and he gave me a lot of great suggestions (both options that would involve hiring him and ones that would not). When I got the estimate for the fence it was a bit higher than I was hoping to pay, but Rob was willing to work with me on alternate materials that would bring down the price to something I was able to pay. It took a few weeks to schedule the work, but I was not in a huge rush, and it was reassuring to know that he was busy with other work! Once they came to build the new fence it was done in two days, and I am very happy with the work that they did. The fence looks great, and they went above and beyond to make sure that the fence worked with what was in the yard. They cut down a small tree that was in the way of the fence (at no additional cost to the estimate we had agreed upon - they would have worked around it if I had wanted, but I was more than happy to have the tree removed), and were VERY careful about blackberry bushes that were in the way of the fence but that I very much wanted to keep. Overall I was 100% satisfied with the entire experience of working with Adirondack Fence, and would not hesitate to use them again.

I was very happy with the outcome of their work. There were some issues with scheduling, but other than that I was a happy customer.

The owner (Rob?) answered when I called. After a few questions, he was able to tell me that they do not work with aluminum, so couldn't help us, but he recommended Barry Potter at Mill to You. Barry ended up doing our fences for us, and they are beautiful. We owe our thanks to Rob for sending us to Barry and for being so polite and helpful on the phone.

Rob was very punctual for our appointment. He was very personable, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and informative. He seemed to understand what my goals were and presented various options. He was able to convey an immediate feeling of confidence. I had a few estimates before speaking to Rob. His was actually the lowest--since he is basically a "one man (with assistant) operation. I always prefer to speak to the person who does the work! I decided to use him because I felt that he would do a good job and his price was very fair. During the installation of the fence, Rob conferred with me to make sure everything was done to my expectations. I am very please with the job. Rob (and his assistant, Alex) used quality materials and their workmanship was excellent. I highly recommend this company!

Rob was enthusiastic from the estimate to completion. Adirondack Fence Co did an outstanding job. They researched and provided drawings to satisfy Fairfax County's permit application. They frequently interacted with me to inquire my preference on major points, such as the pergola design, to details, such as height and design choices joining different fence sections. The finished work is excellent.

They seemed pretty good folks. Alternately, we chose to go with another company because they offered a better warranty. I don't have anything negative to say. They were very professional. The fellow who came out to do the estimate was very personable. He came out and measured out what we wanted installed. He worked up some numbers, and had an estimate for me promptly the next morning as if he said he would. He was really good. He was really punctual. I got 5 estimates on fence, and everybody came right about the same price. They came pretty much with the same price and same warranty. My experience was very good.

Overall the job was completed on time and within budget.

Rob and his team did a great job for my backyard fence. I researched fence companies and talked with two other companies and chose Adirondack. Rob was so busy I had to schedule him 6 weeks out and I am so glad I waited. He is worth the wait. Rob's commitment to quality and making sure I was happy with the job was second to none.

Rob came out and gave me an estimate, he provided suggestions and information regarding the process. He made sure that I was aware of his scheduled in regards to when fence could be installed. Fence was actually installed earlier than I expected. I got a total of four estimate, his was the best of the four. The fence looks terrific, not an expert, but it appears to have been installed properly and hopefully will stand up over time. I was very satisfied.

My experience with Adirondack was a pleasure all-around. I first contacted Rob early spring 2011 and received a quote over the phone. He provided detailed answers to all of my questions and I told him I would get right back to him, but it actually took me a month to do so. He thanked me for choosing them and advised that business had picked up and they were booked up for at least a month. I was fine with that and sent in the deposit. Rob kept me up to date with his schedule. The crew came out about five weeks after I sent the deposit and they completed the work in one day.

A month ago, a neighbor's large tree fell onto the fence (and our house!) damaging a 10 ft area of fence. I found Adirondack through Angie's list and was impressed by the reviews. Our house was already under contract with new buyers prior to the tree falling, and they still wanted it, so with a new closing date we were under a strict timeframe in getting all the repairs done. Rob was aware of this urgency, and made sure to get the job done before we moved out. He was very professional, friendly, and gave us a fair estimate that the insurance adjuster approved immediately. He and his colleague did a superb job of repairing this section of fence, and they did it in well under an hour. I recommend his company highly.

Adirondack did a really good job. They were easy to work with. They were available and they provided their own professional work. No subs. I found them on Angie's List ans selected them due to their good grades.

High quality work at a very good price. Materials used (in particular wood boards) might not have been the best, but cannot complain given the price.

I contracted services with Rob from Adirondack Fence Co to put up a fence for my home. Rob came and really provided me a thorough explanation of my fence options and showed me his portfolio of past jobs. I was persoanlly able to look at another job he completed here in Cleveland Park. The fence looks really good. After I signed the contract and submitted the deposit for the fence, I unexpectantly received an offer to purchase my home. I subsequently had to cancel my contract and Rob was phenomenally understanding. He quickly returned my full deposit and was a total professional. I am very impressed with his high level of integrity. I strongly endorse using Adirondack Fence, as this high level of customer service is not common.

There was about a week's delay in a response to my request for an estimate and then they did not ever call back to schedule an estimate.

Rob at Adirondack is an absolute pleasure to deal with. He installed over 110 lf of cedar picket fence with 6x6 pressure treated pine posts (with concrete footers) for 3950. We then had him remove some concrete walkway in order to do a full install around the neighboring property line where an old chain link fence was. The fence looks gorgeous. Rob and his crew are top notch. They also installed a new front porch hand rail in the original style with very good support beams for $1100 on a wrap around porch. The extra costs came in when we had them demolish some rear steps and haul away the extra concrete sidewalk that they jack-hammered loose. Great guys and would highly recommend them.

Rob responded promptly to my request for an estimate and gave me an estimate over the phone. Once he viewed the property he determined we could reuse the existing posts and reduced the cost accordingly. He and his co-worker arrived on schedule and removed the old fence and installed the new one. They also hung new hooks for planters. I am very pleased with result and would definitely hire this company again.

They were fantastic. They came over for a consultation as they said that they would. They showed up the day they said. They said they would be back the first week of April and as planned he was there. He was very professional. I couldn’t be happier. I just had one person that did the whole thing. I didn’t even know how he could do it by himself and it was also a rainy day. He did an excellent job. I would use them again in the future.

Rob was very professional, provided an estimate over the phone, arrived precisely on time. The work that he and his crew did was outstanding. They were meticulous about meeting the needs my fence was to serve (preventing my small dogs from escaping:) They also were considerate about cleaning up at the end of the first day and when the job was complete, they walked the entire property to make sure they left no trash, pieces of wood, etc. Also, Rob has integrity. I gave him a ball park estimate on the measurements. He gave his estimate based on my number. When he completed the job, he told me that I owed him $120 less than he originally quoted because I overestimated the fence length, How often does that happen! I highly recommend Rob and Adirondack Builders... and I would not hesitate to use the company again.

This company is terrific. Rob is responsive, very easy to work with and his workers do top notch work.

Gave me the lowest estimate and did a great job of quickly repairing a chain link fence that spanned a creek. They were as concerned about the need to act quickly to keep my dogs in as I was.

After Adirondack did such a great job on our emergency fence repair, we hired them to rebuild our backyard fence completely. The goal was to expand the fenced in space and provide access gates. We received several possible fencing options with prices and were able to discuss the pros and cons of each option with no pressure to pick any solution. We made our choice and Adirondack installed the fence in less than 3 days. Most impressively, they planned so well that after each day there was still an area for our dogs to go outside. We really appreciated the minimal disruption in our routine as well as the prompt, professional and courteous service. Adirondack is a great company. We recommend them highly.

Rob came out to give an estimate on putting back 2 panels of a fence that had fallen down. He suggested that replacing the fence would make it look like new (straight & strong) and that the repair we were interested was just a temporary fix. He was right on that issue, but I was just interested in the temporary fix based on current finances. He agreed to do the fix for $100 and came out when he said he would and fixed the fence the way I asked him too. He was very friendly and professional and I'd happily use Adirondack Fence Co. again.

A bit more than a week ago an intense snow and ice storm caused trees to fall on our home, damaging (among other things) the fence in the backyard of our property. We have two dogs who need to access the back yard during the day so it was important to have the fence repaired quickly and well. Adirondack Fence came out to provide an estimate quickly and gave us a fair and reasonable price for the repair. They did the repairs yesterday, even fixing some damage that was not apparent until the trees were removed. They did a great job and we will be using them again. We highly recommend this company.
