He identified satisfactory and sound aspects as well as those that needed attention, and demonstrated his findings for us as we went through the home with him. He answered all of our many questions with patience and respect, and finished by reviewing his report with us to clarify any remaining questions/terms.

+ -1 moreFantastic. I would never use anyone else. On these two occasions, they crawled like terriers into the roof and crawl spaces and discovered water damage to the structure that made us walk away from the house. In one case, they found the damage even though the owner had tried to conceal it. On the other occasion, they took apart a closet to get to the crawl space - having seen evidence of the problem from outside - and discovered a real mess that the current owner's home inspection had missed five years ago. They saved us easily $100k in repairs on each house. And not only that, but they did the report on an iPad as they worked, and had the report substantially complete at the end of the site visit. Wow! What a great example of old school skill and new school tech. Five stars!

+ -1 moreMick arrived before the appointment time. I followed him around the whole time. It took about 2 hours. He was easy going and answered all my questions. Since I was a first time home owner, he gave me tips on keeping the place maintained and gave me a booklet. The inspection was completed on an ipad and emailed the same day. He checked all the outlets, appliances, fans, lights, windows, ect. I assume the price was fair since my online research indicated home inspections cost $300-500. He only took a check, no credit cards.

+ -1 moreOverall the home inspection went very well. Mr. Piercy took time to walk us through the inspection and answer all our questions.
Description of Work: Mr. Piercy proved to be an excellent, detail-oriented home inspector. When we first met him at the property, he immediately discovered a substantial structural problem and advised us to call for a structural engineer. He did not charge us, since he found this major issue early in the inspection and offered to come back if and when we opted to follow up with a structural engineer. Two weeks later, after we consulted a structural engineer and addressed the issue with the seller, we invited him back to restart the inspection. He arrived early, reviewed our structural engineering report and the report from the contractor who will be fixing the problem, and advised us on the most important aspects of the work that needs to be completed. He conducted a thorough inspection of the outside, noted potential drainage issues and ways to fix them, and entered the crawl space to inspect it. During his inspection of the top two floors, he even checked whether the ceiling fans were grounded and two of them were not, something I would not have considered checking. He even checked for signs of termites, eventhough we need a seperate termite inspection. Mr. Piercy took the time to address our questions and offer simple, straight-forward explanations. The cost of the home inspection, which lasted more than 3 hours, included a radon test in the basement. He reviewed the summary of the inspection with our realator and will provide a written report. We would recommend him to anyone interested in a very honest, straight-forward, and thorough inspection.
