In preparation for a basement waterproofing project we needed to have old asbestos tile and mastic removed in two rooms. Young Environmental's team did an excellent job on both the removal and cleanup.

For the estimate, the estimator arrived on time. His measurements were a bit off, but we corrected them and everything went fine after that. For the actual removal, the team arrived early and waited outside (which was cool 'cause it was a morning appointment) until I noticed they were there and I told them they could start early. They explained what they would do, set up their gear, and got to it. They removed everything and disposed of it. They finished early, and headed out. It was exactly the kind of experience you want with a contractor.

Mr. Peter is courteous since the day I called for service; very detailed, thorough and professional. They are pro in their trade and detailed what is required for my 1962 home. Price is right :- for their exceptional, quality service. They went beyond to remove additional tiles and glue; and after all their hardwork my basement came out very clean. ** I highly recommend them for any one looking for quality, professional service **

Young was outstanding to work with all the way through. I got three bids for the job, while the price did not vary that much, Young was the only one that took the time to explain the process, know & respect & carry out city requirements (others presented these requirements as "optional," which would have just landed me in hot water), and they did the job without issue. It was a pleasure to work with them. I fell like I got a gift because I can now move forward with home improvements.

They seemed okay. Their quote was a lot higher than the other quotes so I did not use them. They had about 75 extra square feet in their quote than all the others so I don't know if this is why they were so much higher than the others. I brought it to their attention and they told me it did not impact the price. I don't have anything bad to say about them. I don't have anything excellent to say either. I guess, get a few estimate is the best advice.

Young Environmental abated asbestos tile and mastic (glue) in our basement. The procedure took less then a day. The team worked from 8am to 2pm and did a fantastic job. They left the spaces very tidy, and there was minimal touch ups for us to do on the wall and baseboard such as repainting. Peter Young provided excellent customer service. We chatted several times over the phone and over email regarding our project. He very patiently answered all my questions over the course of a few weeks so that I fully understood the process. He was also on site at the start of the work and touched base via phone during the day. We couldn't have asked for things to go more smoothly. We very highly recommend Young Environmental!

Peter and his team did the work in less time than anticipated and under budget. They were extremely professional, knowledgable, courteous and efficiently removed all of the asbestos without any issues. We used Geller to test the air afterwards and everything came back 100% clean. Peter and his crew were a godsend. I highly recommend them.

I was so happy with the work that Young Environmental did in my rental home. I am located in another state and couldn't fly back when the basement of my rental home flooded in June. I had had a few not-so-great experiences with other contractors, so I joined Angie's List to hopefully make some more progress with getting the repairs done. I contacted 3 companies in order to get a quote to do the work. I spoke to Peter over the phone and was impressed that they would send someone out to do the estimate in person, the other company just guessed based on the information I gave them over the phone. The estimator came out the next day and I had the quote later that afternoon. I spoke to Peter again to ask more questions about the process, and then decided to use Peter as his quote was better than the other company and I liked his professionalism. The work was scheduled to be done the following week and the team showed up on time and took the estimated time they said they would. I was able to take care of payment over the phone with Peter while the team was doing the work, and he even honored the Angie's List discount the following day when I realized that I had forgotten to mentioned it originally. Overall, one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor and I would definitely recommend this company to others that need abatement work done.

Company is owned by a professional who answers all your questions, sends quotes when he says he will, and arrives when he says he will. He did not only an excellent job of cleaning mold from our crawl space and foundation, but had to talk with our current renter about the initial inspection to reserve a date and just the overall process of clean up. We were called before the inspection, after the inspection, before the arrival of the clean up crew, and after the job (one day job) was completed. Invoice was in our inbox the following day. Great company who helped us feel comfortable ordering his services 4 hours away and knowing it would be done.

I highly recommend Peter Young and his company. Peter was wonderful to deal with: professional, responsive, and interested in doing a good job. The work was on time and in accordance with government standards. I had some questions afterward and his crew, who were also very responsive, came back twice to be sure there were no asbestos remnants. The price was very reasonable and affordable.

The entire experience from the estimate, scheduling and abatement was extremely professional and friendly. We had our entry way, powder room and kitchen floors abated since the builder of the house (in the 1970s) used a flooring that contained asbestos in the paper backing. There were three layers of flooring in our kitchen. We wanted to remodel and start with a new floor. Peter Young was very knowledgeable and friendly when answering our questions. He was also flexible in scheduling as we were about 4 - 6 weeks away from wanting the work completed when we received the estimate. He and his team arrived on time and were professional. The work took a little more than 5 hours. While we were removing items to prepare for the asbestos abatement, my husband and I noticed some mold on the drywall. Peter Young and his team examined it and performed mold remediation for a minimal fee, even though that work was not in the original scope of work. We were extremely pleased with the quality of the work as well as the professionalism of the entire team. Thank you!

We used Young Environmental for the removal of our kitchen floor as part of a kitchen remodel project. They answered their phones promptly during normal business hours, were courteous, knowledgeable, and punctual. At first we thought that we didn't need an abatement; but after the project began, we discovered that we needed a more stable sub-floor requiring removal of tiles that contained asbestos. We asked Young Environmental to fit us in asap (only 70 sq ft) because we were getting so close to the due date of our 2nd baby. They said they could come the following day -- and sent a representative (Evan Young) out that day to look at the location and give us a quote. Given some other areas we thought might be troublesome (it turns out that they weren't), we couldn't schedule the abatement until 5 days later. However, the team arrived bright and early on the abatement day and had the place squeaky-clean (literally) within 90 minutes. Given their previous work with the air monitoring company we used (Geller Environmental), we were able to have all aspects of the abatement complete before noon. An unplanned obstacle could not have been handled more smoothly. I only gave them a "B" for the price because I did not compare their price to the prices of other companies. Their reviews were great on Angie's List. We did not want to waste time shopping around for a better price.

I called and spoke with the owner Mr Young. I described the situation to him over the phone. He explained that we did not have an asbestos problem and we would not need their services.

It went well. I left a message with the company, and the expert called back later on in the day.

The experience with Young Environmental Services went fine. They were courteous and professional. Their response was timely. All I needed was some testing.

They were great. They were prompt. They cleaned up after the removal. Any discrepancies, they were prompt.

Obviously asbestos abatement is a serious issue, one that caused me a few sleepless nights before deciding to go ahead with the project. The company gave us two options: removing the tiles only, then covering the black mastic with an spary encapsulant; or removing the mastic as well for an additional cost. We decided to go with the second option. The crew showed up in the morning and moved a few remaining heavy pieces of furniture out of the room before starting the work. The area (about 700 sq. ft.) was sealed with thick plastic sheets, the tiles were then manaually removed and the mastic was dissolved with some sort of chemical. After the job was completed, an air quality test was performed. If my memory serves me right, the crew showed up at 8:00 am, job was done around 4 pm. After the job was completed, I inspected the floor. It was bare concrete with some black spots (mastic) remaining. By the way, the did mention at the start that some of the mastic will remain, they will not be able to remove it all. Otherwise, the floor was clean with no visible sign of any debris. Couple of days later I received an environmental report attesting to the quality of the air in the room upon completion of the work. The company seems to be knowledgeable about asbestos removal and did the work in a professional manner for us.

Young Environmental Services were very prompt, followed through with what they said, the technician they sent was very helpful, listened to us, took the sample and followed up with us in a timely manner to advise us that we don't have asbestos. They are true to what they advertise regarding pricing.

They did a good job. They came on time and they did it in a day. They removed all the material in a very professional way, and they did it at the price that they quoted at. I’m not sure of the exact price but on a price criterion in terms of grading them, I think it was a lot. They came in and had a kind of an environment where the house was being renovated, and so it was empty. It was easier to do because it was a completely empty house and it was completely cleared away for them to work. So given that, I thought the price was a little expensive. They came and did the work, and I was happy with the work that was done. The price was the one area that I was a little disappointed with, but they weren’t more open to a discussion about it. They gave me an initial price that we talked about over the phone; and when they came out to give the quote it was more, and I was surprised that it was more, given the circumstances of the job. I would consider using them again in the future, but I would probably make sure to shop around for the price.

They were very efficient. They did it all in one day. I didn't really have a bad experience with them. The owner come in to do the estimate and he was real clear about what they would do, answered all my questions honestly. I wasn't here when the work happened and I am not sure about how the work went, but my wife said they came in and did their job and said they cleaned up afterwards.

I got a quote from Young Environmental Services a while back and are considering using them. They gave me a quote over the phone in August or September. I think they said it was $250 for three spots. I spoke to the secretary and the guy called back in a half hour. He was very friendly and really nice. If we were going to do it, definitely we would use them. This was for asbestos testing.
