The Youngs called me back within an hour of my voice message and set up a time for estimate. Evan Young came on time and clearly explained what needed to be done and how to do it. Peter Young provided an estimate promptly and set up a work schedule for a few days later. He arrived with the crew and went over the safety and environmental precautions they would take. The work was done that day and the area was left spotless. As this was hazardous waste, it was reassuring to see how carefully they isolated the work from the rest of the house and how professionally the whole operation was handled.

We had a great experience with the Young family from start to finish. Peter was cordial, patient and responsive on the phone answering all of my questions and was quick to arrange a home visit with his son, Evan. Evan arrived on time, took quick measurements and the estimate was delivered just over 24 hours later. The abatement was scheduled within a week and while we weren't able to be present for the abatement itself due to a last minute conflict, the worksite was left as clean as possible and the air test came back clear. The presence of asbestos in my newly purchased 1912 home was a huge source of concern from the time we bought it and knowing that it was removed safely by Young Environmental has given us great peace of mind.

Wonderful. They cleaned up around the work area every night. I had a concern and called Mr. Young at 9pm, he called me right back. They performed the work without any fuss and cleanly. The attic was spotless when they were done.

Young Environmental was helpful, efficient, professional and fair. They completed the work requested in a few hours and left our home clean and undisturbed. We added on to the job after the workers were already on site, and when there was confusion about what the additional quote covered, Peter honored my original understanding of the quote even though it required an additional day of work. Peter Young was very responsive from the beginning through both email and phone. Price quoted was slightly less than that other contractors. Completed the job in the time frame provided prior to the job and left the workspace very clean.

The supplier showed up late and never called to inform us he would be late. Once he arrived my significant other said he just went in the basement and looked the wall and said we will send you a quote. All the other suppliers that came addressed the humidity in the basement and how to maybe properly fix my mold problem as well as how much time it woud require. He was not detailed and did not seem to really care about looking into my problem in my house. The quote was provided the next day so the provider is pretty good in responsiveness with providing a quote.

While I hope not to have to call an asbestos abatement contractor again, this was a simple experience thanks to Mr. Young and his team of professionals. After reviewing the asbestos report, Mr. Young sent me a detailed contract for the abatement. The work was scheduled and occurred exactly as outlined. Post abatement, the air was checked and I was e-mailed a report stating that the abatement had been successful. I wanted to hire the best company to ensure that my family was protected from asbestos and I can say without hesitation that Young Environmental was the right choice.

It went very well. They were very professional, prompt, and did a very good job cleaning up the area and even did a little extra cleaning us as well. I would highly recommend them as they were most professional. Be sure to mention you are with Angie's list and they will provide a discount. Every penny helps with projects like this as it can be pricey trying to fix up your home.

They never got back to me and that was a little disheartening. I called to make an inquiry about a residential service and they just never responded.

They were very clear in the way they communicated and the way their services work. They were also very helpful in helping me understand and helping me explain to my client the way the whole process works with asbestos abatement and also with the testing process. That was critical to making the transaction smoothly. They coordinated well with the other company who did the testing for the asbestos.

I've used Young Environmental three times at two different homes - twice for asbestos remediation (removing/sealing asbestos tiles in a basement) and once for mold remediation. Had a great experience each time. Peter - the father of the father-son team, who appears to manage the business end of things and has deep subject matter expertise - is super-nice and was very responsive when I needed help on short notice. Evan - the son who does the estimates and manages the team doing the actual projects on-site; he is very nice as well. The operation seems like a pretty well-oiled machine. A very easy and straightforward experience each time - would definitely use them again (but I really hope I don't have to!).

Peter and his son were very friendly and professional. The estimate was substantially lower than another firm's. I had already used the other firm (ACM) for a couple of other jobs, and wanted to try Young based on the reviews here. They showed up on time and spent maybe an hour setting up the containment area. They used staples and lightweight masking tape, and left many gaps. I went around during the job to seal up the gaps with my own heavy tape. They were pulling up flooring that did not have a subfloor, and it was over the basement, so they also had to put up plastic underneath the flooring to contain falling debris. See the attached photos. There was a bit of a mess in the basement due to gaps in the plastic. They also knocked over an aluminum ladder onto a bicycle and just left it there. Sloppy, but no real harm done. At the end of the day I felt like I got what I paid for. It was a very low price, and I got a barebones containment, with some spillage. I'd consider calling these guys again, but now I know why ACM charged roughly twice as much for similar work.

We contacted Young Environmental after a contractor starting pulling up asbestos title in our basement. Lab results of the tile and mastic concluded that even though there was asbestos present, those amounts were pretty low. After reviewing multiple proposals, not only was Young Environmental's the lowest bid but they didn't try to over sell us on full decontamination procedures. We have small children and an asbestos issue was a scary prospect. Peter Young was very helpful answering all of our questions and put our mind to ease regarding the whole process and level of contamination we faced. On the day of the cleanup, Peter came with his crew, setup the containment area and in a matter of hours they were done. All of the materials were cleaned up and air samples came back negative for any asbestos in the air. Hopefully we won't have any other asbestos issues in the future, but if we did, we would 100% use Young Environmental Services again.

They explained everything to me thoroughly and were honest about what did and didnt need to be fixed. They cleaned up very well, were punctual, and very professional. I plan to use them again to deal with a mold situation I have. Price was reasonable based on other quotes received.

I wish every business I have to deal with was as professional as Young Environmental! Called Peter Young at 7AM on a Monday after discovering what we believed to be asbestos tile during kitchen remodel. Arranged an appointment for Noon that day for estimate. The owner's son arrived on schedule at Noon. I was promised an estimate by the end of the day via email and that was delivered as well. I called on Tuesday to arrange for the abatement to be done. Work was scheduled for 8AM on Thursday. The crew was on site on Thursday at 7 AM preparing their equipment and Peter Young came to our door with his crew at 8 AM. Work was completed in allotted time and environmental test performed. We had ~120 ft. of tile and plywood sub-floor removed. Cost I've listed includes the sub contracted environmental test and report.

Mr.Young was very prompt in coming to give an estimate and punctual with the starting of the work. There were a couple of small incidents that happened in the course of the work and he was quick to respond and take care of them.

This review is long overdue. Peter and his team abated vermiculite in our new home before we moved in on the off chance that asbestos was present. We obtained 3 estimates for this work, and his cost was about in the middle. He was extremely professional throughout the process, taking the time to educate me about what his team would do and why. Asbestos removal is the type of home expense that I never thought I'd have to pay, and really wished I didn't have to, but Peter's professionalism and positive attitude took some of that sting away. His team was on time, and they completed the work in a timely manner. Peter also offered to coordinate the environmental testing after the abatement, but he was open and honest about the fact that doing so could make him appear biased. That being said, the team that conducted the environmental testing (RTS Environmental) was also recommended by my realtor, and I went with them and had him coordinate the testing to save me the hassle. I have recommended Peter to friends in the past, and I wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

On 14 November, I contacted Young Environmental to schedule an estimate for asbestos removal. Peter scheduled the appointment for the following day (15 Nov) with his son Evan. Evan arrived on time and was extremely professional. You can tell that both him and Peter have done this for many years and have plenty of experience in asbestos removal. We received the estimate the following day (16 Nov). Although we ended up not using Young Environmental, I would recommend definitely recommend them. I truly appreciated their responsiveness, punctuality, and expertise.

It went very well. Contractor was unable to finish the job on the first visit because of some issues beyond their control, but came back later to finish after we were able to do some additional work. Very professional, courteous, and all around a good experience.

Shortly after purchasing our home (circa 1940), we discovered it had a significant amount of asbestos in the building materials. After interviewing multiple remediation contractors, we felt that Peter and his crew offered a professional, and careful approach. He was no-nonsense, and was willing to negotiate a fair price. The work was performed quickly, and within the time frame as promised. Peter was responsive throughout, and answered all our questions.

Peter Young's son, Adam, came out to the house to look over the flooring and measure it. He was punctual and very professional. We had the flooring tested already and showed him the positive test results for asbestos. We set a date and Peter arrived with his workers on time. They seemed to me to be pros at doing this kind of work. They removed it in a safe and timely fashion. I highly recommend Young Environmental.

Work went exceptionally well. Peter Young and his team arrived on time and wasted no time getting to work. Despite the scope of the task, work went smoothly and finished ahead of schedule. We would definitely recommend them.

From Geller Environmental Labs' recommendation I contacted Young Environmental for an asbestos abatement proposal. . Within one-day, Young Environmental was quickly available to survey the site and within one day provided an asbestos abatement proposal accompanied by license and insurance information. . Young's abatement price was similar to the oral estimate provided by Envirotex Environmental. . Very smooth and fast operation; arrive a little earlier than originally planned which was not a issue. Crew of 4-6 sealed the room, established vacuum / filter to apply negative pressure room, donned appropriate attire and respirators, and proceeded to scrape away two tile layers, and then using a petroleum base solvent dissolved and wiped away mastic. . Space was ready for the Post-Abatement visual and air quality inspection within two hours of beginning work and the on-site arrival of the Geller Environmental Labs asbestos project monitor to provide industrial hygiene services who cleared the space. . Only downside for which I was advised; the "odorless" petroleum distillate solvent used to remove the mastic is anything but odorless. However, the odor is quickly waning as the solvent evaporates. . Management arrived on-site to ensure the process started correctly. Staff appeared knowledgeable and worked effectively and efficiently.
