It went ok. I didn't feel they gave us as much information as we could have had originally. Afterward, it smelled really bad down there for some time. When I talked to him after, he said it might be just removing floor that had been there for years. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time.

This company was very accommodating given some scheduling problems we encountered on our end. I hesitate to give them an overall grade of A because I thought the price was a little high. It took 3 men less than 8 hours to complete the work. On the other hand, I'm not at all familiar with asbestos abatement and I know a lot of what they do is EPA mandated. Still, I thought it was a bit high. They removed asbestos tile from the basement floor and pipe insulation that was breaking apart. They also washed down the floors and walls of an old concrete-floor basement that had seen more than a few sewer back-ups.

They responded immediately and I was so pleased. He responded to my friend immediately. He was so reassuring or he said he would have called his crew immediately. He was very comforting to me. He was very knowledgeable about explaining things to me. He had someone else test the air. He could have made the job much more expensive and didn't. I trust him very much. He is certified.

Their estimate was $2,400, 2 1/2 times as much as a competing bid from a firm that got the contract and did the job quite well.

While renovating my house I discovered that the walls had a thick skim coat of asbestos joint compound. There was also a 200 sq. ft. area of the basement that had once been tiled with asbestos mastic (the tiles were gone but the mastic remained). When I contacted Mr. Young he was quick to return my call, visit the site, and provide me with an estimate. He suggested ways to reduce the cost of the project but I ultimately chose the most aggressive (and expensive) scope for the project. Before leaving Mr. Young explained the entire asbestos removal process from start to finish. Work began a few weeks later. The removal crew arrived promptly at 8 AM and began to set up immediately. I couldn't be on site to see how the work was progressing (for obvious reasons) but Mr. Young kept me in the loop each day. At the end of the three days Mr. Young arranged for an asbestos inspector to examine and certify the work. After passing inspection the crew cleaned up quickly and thoroughly.

Just before we were to begin converting an office into a baby's room, we learned that we had asbestos vinyl tile underneath our existing carpet. We were concerned about the integrity of the old tiles and whether simple covering was the safest choice given their condition. Mr. Young returned our call promptly, came over and provided an estimate, and worked with us to schedule the job. The work was done in the amount of time that was discussed. We were left with a room that is ready for new flooring and with peace of mind that the room is safe.
