Window Universe

Everything went well. They arrived on time, did a good job, cleaned up after themselves, and the communication was great. I would hire them again.

It took a little longer than I expected, but it was worth the wait. The installers were very professional and cleaned up after the installation, hauling the old windows and doors away. Excellent service and great prices. We had estimates from two other companies before we settled on Window Universe. We would absolutely use them again and refer any and all of our friends to them.

Very impressed with the entire process from getting quotes (no hard sales pitch, just a simple order form where you select exactly what you want with clear, up front prices), to measurements, install, and follow-up. All A's other than quality of product as a B because nearly every window was installed with black marks and vinyl sediment from the factory, as well as one window that had a large crack in the sash frame (they did replace it as soon as it was available from the factory). We had to spend a couple hours going around with a magic eraser and cleaning rags to scrub all the black scuff marks and sediment off the windows after the install. I would have hoped the installers would clean them after installing them. The window quality is certainly not a "premium" window, but they are very functional solid, and very well priced. They are also up front about these being a great value vs paying exorbitant amounts for some fancier features and finishes from other companies. Company representatives were very responsive to all of our questions from beginning to end, so A+ on that. Can't beat the price for the grade of windows and service experience. We received multiple quotes and have replaced windows at other properties, and wish we had known about this company before! We replaced 30+ year old Anderson double pain wood frame windows and the improvement in insulation both thermal and sound is incredible. Gone are the drafty windows and it is much quieter inside the house now as well. We were very impressed that they removed a series of smaller windows in our kitchen and replaced it with a single larger picture window for no additional charge above the cost of a normal picture window. It really improved the look and feel of our kitchen, not to mention a much better view of our yard (See attached pictures). The best part is we had a friend visit who had just replaced all the windows in their house with one of the "premium" window companies, they immediately noticed the new windows and were very impressed with how ours looked compared to theirs. They nearly cried when we told them how much we paid compared to what they paid. They wished they had gone the way we did instead of with the other guys.

Could not have been an easier process. I was admittedly skeptical at the beginning, but thought getting one more bid couldn’t hurt, even if it was over email. When the bid was significantly lower, and Dan took time to respond to multiple emailed questions with in-depth and honest answers (didn’t try to sell his service as something it wasn’t and gave the pros and cons on each of my questions), I was convinced to give him a try. I was comforted by the idea that the window manufacturer was also installing the windows, so the work was warranted by one company that has been around for awhile. The local installers were just as responsive and helpful as Dan was, and really put in a solid day’s work to get the windows installed. My father in law (who worked in construction) was Home during the install and said the guys were really thorough and everything was sealed up tight. I really do highly recommend Windows Universe Express - they’re a solid middle of the road window at a price significantly lower than anything else I could find with a quality install job.

The process was simple and hassle free. I ordered the windows online, a person came out are measured for the windows and they were built and installed in less than 6 weeks. The installers did a great job and the windows are great. I am very pleased with the final results.

They are really good. If I need windows in the future, I would get a quote. I don't know whether I would use them or not, but I would get a quote. I went to them, they didn't go to me and I think they pride themselves on that. They don't go door-to-door. They rely on word of mouth which is good. They had a good product and the price was really good. The sales pitch would not go as long as what others did before. They worked with me to find ways to cut the costs as well. The fact that I ordered the exterior windows, it was easy. I did it in an hour and that saved me a couple hundred dollars. So that was good I think it was the price and the value that was really good.

Excellent! Sales process was low pressure with plenty of time to shop other suppliers for best price and reputation. Salesman was very responsive by phone and email. Measurement process was smooth and efficient. Installation was the best part. The crew was very professional. Showed up on time and knocked out the job with no problems. Windows are tight, draft-free, open easily, reduce noise, and look great both inside and outside the house. The patio door is amazing. We love our new view. Sliding action is very smooth and locks easily and securely.

We couldn't believe what a painless and quick process it was to replace all our windows in our home!! It took about 6 weeks from order to installation as promised. Robbie and his team were very professional, always on time, fast, super-clean and courteous....and all that for a price much lower than other companies in the area with comparable windows!! I would hire them again in a heartbeat!!

Pretty clean I almost could not tell that they were there.

The reason I downgraded them was there communication was very poor from the headquarters to the field staff. to me and then between the supplier and the headquarters. For example I ordered screens. The screens where never installed with the original window. I had called several time to follow up and it turns out there were a few screens that had come in but were damaged and no body communicated that to me so, I was waiting for 3 months for the actual think that I had already paid for. And then, there was a disagreement between the supplier and the provider which is when they-. The windows where great. The windows whee do. It just the service was poor. The pricing was great. They had a range of options and it was all on a cart so you could see how they customise your selections. That was nice. (Quality:) So far so good. I think I would probably rate them a B, mostly because the installation was not super tidy and again, the quality of the product still really needs to get tasted but the sound is greatly reduced and the lost of heat has been greatly reduced. But the actual way they installed it and the look of it is a little bit shoddy. (Professionalism): Its different because I dealt with a lot of people I guess. I deal with the person who was the sales person, and then I also dealt with the company. The sales person actually had a much higher lever of professionalism than the people that I dealt with in the headquarters, Thats why i'm a lot bit in between. They do send some follow up things and have tried to make some sort of amends. (Used them again) Hopefully I will not need them in the future though I don't anticipate following up with another provider for the same service. i only have 6 windows in the house this way. Yes I would compared rates and services with other companies, I would not automatically go back to them.

Horrible from the offset. It's taken me a couple months to write this review because I had to remove myself from the stress of dealing with the company. We previously had them install 9 windows and a front door, and that went well a couple years ago. With the benefit of hindsight though, their workmanship left much to be desired once we lived with the product. The cranks on the some windows were installed so low they are inoperable, all "metal" finishes had tarnished, and the insulation around the windows is nonexistent. Fast forward to February 2016, and we decided to give them another chance with the hopes that they would fix residual issues as well, given their ratings on here. Suffice to say they did not address past issues, and we were so fed up with them we decided to eat the cost and have another company come out and fix the work. Reference the most recent job, we got a quote early February with a commitment to install within 6weeks. It was mid to late August before everything was done. Cliff notes version: 1) persistent "production" delays 2) windows arrived with the incorrect hardware 3) more "re-production" delays 4) bent screens that weren't caught initially and had to be remade again 5) measurement issues and confusion galore 6) unresponsive and difficult to deal with staff who consistently failed to follow up with commitments or respect our concerns. In the end, we're paying another company thousands of dollars to fix their work, because the headache of dealing with them is such a stress we don't need back in our lives. We'll most certainly be going with another company for our remaining needs, and wouldn't recommend them to anyone under any circumstance. They are far from recognizable compared to the company the once allegedly were, and I sincerely hope the can figure out what has happened and correct course before other customers experience similar nightmares.

The process used by window universe was far different than in home quoting. I was able to select what I wanted instead of being pressured to buy windows a vendor wanted me to buy. Their low cost and seamless communication benefited me in the long run. I didn't have time for any more sales pitches. They handled the measurements and other scheduling with the manufacturer. The windows they sell are top quality, 50 year windows. I purchased 18 windows of 4 different styles. The customer service I received was remarkable. They responded quickly and also caught a few mistakes along the way. I will use Window Universe again.

The initial interaction from estimate to final quote was great. There were slight delay from the manufacturer in getting the windows. However, my overall experience was great.

The entire process was as explained on the web site. Unique for the window industry, there was no sales person at my house with high pressure sales tactics. I had 2 local local companies and Lowes come out for the dog and pony show. All 3 were varied in THEIR prices and the closest price was still $2500. more than Window Universe. As far as I could tell, there was not much difference in the quality of the mid level vinyl windows between all suppliers. The stats on the Berkshire Elite were as good or better than that of the other 3. Seemed like a easy decision. Josh, representing the local installation process, came out and measured. He was very courteous and professional. Once measured, it took another 6-7 weeks for installation. Installer showed up early and on time and did his best to finish all 14 windows in 1 day. Windows were as expected and installation seemed to go well. Installers cleaned up area nicely. In the effort, there were several overcuts into my hardy siding that I felt were over and beyond what one should expect from the installation. Josh came back to inspect and agreed. The installers came back out about a week later and replaced and/or repainted all places where we felt there was excessive damage due to the overcuts. I am extremely pleased with both Window Universe and the local installation team. They did communicate and work closely together which was a concern of not hiring a local manufacturer. Overall, I am extremely pleased with how the windows have come out and would recommend/use Window Universe again.

They never showed up for the scheduled appointment and never bothered to call to say they weren't coming. Don't bother calling as they are non-responsive.

I am very happy with the product and installation My experience with the window Universe was excellent. The contract terms were explained to me, as was the installation scheduling. I received several phone calls and emails during the course of the process, from contract signing, ordering of materials, and final installation. It was a great experience from the first meeting with Jay D. to the installation which only took two days! The salesman was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me step by step. There was no "pressure" to buy. I did my research on two other companies and Windows Universe beat the other offers by $500. Jay said the windows would arrive in the warehouse in 4 to 6 weeks and to my delight, the windows came in 4 weeks! The "measure" took place at a convenient time for me in the early evening. The workmen were punctual, professional, and cleaned up after their work hauling old windows and materials away. I love my new living room window the best which was a special project because of the size. I would recommend this company to family and friends without hesitation. I am a school teacher and would give this company an A!

Ehh....the process to book the appointment went fine, but it is now July 26 and my windows have not been installed yet. I called today, to find out why the delay and from the call I gathered they may have just overlooked my job. Very disappointing since now it may take longer because I will be away on vacation. Can't speak to the actual installation yet, but I will once the job is completed.

The windows were measured in the 5 days following the order. The person who did the installation was here on time. Very professional and completed the work to my satisfaction. Very meticulous with his work. The yard was left clean at the end of the work. Brian M. was diligent and very polite. The windows look good, and I do not see any problems at this time. Thanks to Dan and thanks to Brian M. for a job well done!

Sales: Sales staff was very informative and punctual. No high pressure and very strait forward about the products, pricing and process. Pricing: Took in several estimates from various companies. Pricing is on par or less than much of the competition without the pressure and gimmicks such as "sign today and save 40%" or "let us tell your neighbors you sent us and save more". The price quoted was the price 2 months later. Ordering: This was part of a complete kitchen remodel so we were a little close on timing. It took nearly 6 weeks for the factory to deliver the window to the local seller. We were led to believe the total time from order to install would about a month +/-. The delay nearly caused a work stop on the finish work of the remodel. After many calls (about 6) to the office and project manager, the window was delivered and installed in the nick of time. Felt like I had to make a few too many calls to get status. This is the only reason for the "B" rating on respoinsiveness. Installation: Installation day was very smooth. The installers arrived exactly on schedule and were very informative about what they would do. The crew was very clean and picked up all debris and old window parts before departing. The lead crewman walked me thru the operation of the garden window. They worked fast and efficiently with great respect for protecting other areas such as outdoor plants and new granite countertop from damage. Window appears to be well sealed and installed correctly. Several heavy rainfalls since installation with no leaks! Product Quality: The construction of the garden window is solid and meets expectations. Followup: WIndow Universe followed up by e-mail asking for comments/complaints/concerns. Overall: Very pleased with the outcome. Will need to replace most of the windows in my home and will likely use Window Universe to complete that work in the future.

Dan Schweihs with Window Universe and Author of thewindowdog.com was very helpful during my research of finding the right solution for me and our replacement windows. While all of our interactions where via email, he was very prompt in answering all of our questions, and discussing the pros and cons of features and different products. He provide a solution and quote that we where happy with and the coordination of the measurement of our windows and the install team was professional, courteous and timely. I prefer the no pressure sales, and not having sales people in my home. I recommend Window Universe if you are in the market for replacement windows.

Best price by far and no games. Neighbors were upset after I told them what I paid because they paid 2 or 3 times what I paid. Windows are top quality and the installation team was great. Fast and clean and done on schedule. I recommend Window Universe to everyone.

Jeff came out on 9/2/15 to do the initial quote on the project. He was professional and to the point since I had done some homework on the product that they carried. The quote was much like I expected and the measurement and ordering was done without much of a hitch. The "window walls" seemed to provide a small challenge; the opening was so large that a metal post was used to support the header. They seemed to come up with a plan for that and set the installation date once the windows were received. Dave and his crew came out for a couple of days to do the installation. Overall, they did a great job to keep things cleaned up as they did their work. I was a little surprised at some of the holes that were made in the drywall to remove the old windows. Later, Drew provided a check to cover the repair cost (this was a class move). I have waited to provide a review until we have had a chance to experience a couple seasons with the product. The Berkshire Elite Double Hung and Picture windows that were installed have been an excellent investment. The old aluminum frame windows we had leaked air and frosted over in the winter. The frames of the replacements hardly felt cold to the touch. Now, as we have had better weather, we are able to open the whole house and let the fresh air in. Doesn't seem like much, but before we had screens on only a few windows. Overall, I am very pleased with the services and product provided by Windows Universe and I hope that this review will help others experience the great deal I believe I received from this company.
