I purchased a Living Social deal for this vendor and actually came to Angie's List to check his rating. Since it was high I went ahead and purchase the deal $69 for 2 hours of handyman service. I called on Sept 30th and the answering machine message suggested for faster service emailing so I did that. I told him what I wanted done, told him that I am selling my home and anxious to get these things done - main job was electrical in nature which is stated on his website. I did not hear from him so I emailed again on Oct 11th. He finally called me on the 13th while I was in the car. At that point he told me that I was out of his service area but that if I purchased a full day of his services he would still honor the coupon cost. He indicated that he had sent me a flyer with the details that he was selling 4 1/2 hours of service for $219 and would honor the 2 additional hours that I'd already paid for at $69 but that he'd need pictures of my jobs in order to confirm the costs. I told him that I did check the service area before purchasing the coupon and that he should check with Living Social. I told him I'd email him the details and pictures once I saw the flyer. I also informed him again that I was in a hurry to get these items taken care of so I can list my home for sale. On Oct 20th, I sent three emails with details and once again reminded him of the time constraints. On Oct 25th I sent another follow up. I received no reply so I called Living Social on Oct 30th I contact Living Social to see what my recourse was since I had already paid for the voucher. They refunded my money to a living social credit that I'll have to use on another service. To date I have not used that money nor found another vendor. I have used JW Home Improvements before but they don't do electrical work. I don't know if they sold too many Living Social vouchers and can't keep up or what but I needed faster service.

I like using this company, I have used them a few times in the past, and I am very picky about things. On e of the things I appreciate about the company is the price points, I always like the rates because I know what it's going to be every time. My family also use Universal Home Projects for their home improvement needs. The Jones Family

I was referred to Universal Home Projects by a good friend, we our basement totally finished with this company, they did the demolition, framing, drywall, finishing, carpet, build out for the rooms, wall molding, chair-rail, light fixtures, and painting. We could not believe the great pricing for the quality of service. We could ask for more from them, but it wouldn’t be rite…. We have recommended this company to many of our friends. There is only one thing, you do want to get on the schedule with them soon, sometimes the get busy. My wife and I like to give credit where it’s due… J.Norton Northern VA
