Kevin Arnold was the perfect gentleman, came highly recommended and would be the perfect contractor but his prices were just a bit too high for us. His staff was great, he was very reachable and very personable. He worked with us for a long time to come up with a great plan and I am sure the experience would have been first rate. If we have other projects in the future, we would not hesitate to call him.

I interviewed three contractors before hiring Kevin Arnold. I had done a $108,000 renovation on my home about seven years earlier (kitchen and two new bathrooms) and was disappointed in the service from the previous contractor, so I entered into this project with some bad baggage regarding contractors in general. I hired Kevin not only because his costs were reasonable (all bids were within hundreds of dollars of each other) but due to chemistry. I just had a gut feeling I could work with him and trust him. Kevin is very customer oriented. If you are happy; he is happy. We talked almost every morning throughout this six week project -- it was supposed to take five weeks but I held Kevin up to order the vanity I wanted, when I wanted. Each morning he gave me a run down of what they hoped to accomplish that day and what I could expect when I got home from work. He notified me immediately if there was a hiccup in our schedule or a SNAFU on progress. He handled all the interaction with the country pulling permits; recommended vendors; and recommended great alternates when the costs were too high for our budget. I was comfortable enough with Kevin to be honest about flaws or expectations. He always took my criticisms (there were very few) with a "can do" attitude and got it done. I have hired three contractors over the past seven years for major renovation projects in my home ($108k; $20k and $24k) and Kevin is the only one I would hire back. In fact I called this morning to ask for his handyman services. We finished on time and on budget. No surprises. No anxiety. It was a smooth transition all the way around. It was an absolute pleasure working with Kevin and I would recommend him -- and I have -- to any of my friends and colleagues. Finally, I have found someone I trust and who I can depend on in the world of contracting!

They did a great job and I would unequivocally recommend the company! Kevin Arnold was the GC and really communicated very effectively. A number of positive things stood out to my wife and I: 1 - Consistent communication about what had been done, what/when work was going to be done, problem ID/resolution, options for details that weren't specified in the drawings 2 - Access to his suppliers at his prices for items that we were responsible for providing (e.g. cabinets) 3 - His overall approach to cost control. He was as sensitive to our budget (things we were responsible for) as he was to his own budget (things he was responsible for). 4 - Isolating the work area from the living area (we were still living downstairs) 5 - Accommodating in having me do some of the work to maintain overall budget 6 - Not nickel-and-diming on what things constituted a change order. Our overall change orders were about 3% of the contract value and there were items that he would have been justified in charging for that he accepted in-scope. His change order estimates were reasonable and frankly less than what I was expecting. When you choose to go with Tyler, I would just caution on one thing. They are not great at timeliness of estimates so it would take a bit of time to find out what new scope might cost. Kevin would give a range relatively quick (and he was never outside that range) but it took a while to finalize numbers. One of the references he provided before we decided to go with Tyler said that they no longer bid jobs out and they just call Kevin to get on his calendar. I didn't really understand how this could be true but I get it now. You know you're going to get treated well and get excellent value for your money. They did great by us and I hope you give them the chance to do great by you.
