I worked with Jay. From initial meeting and throughout the process I felt nothing but confidence. I was given a price quote and a time frame to complete a job. The job was completed on time and the bill never changed. The quality of work was exactly as expected (done well). Jay's demeanor was that of understanding and professional. I would advise against working with Stone Masters. To put this review in context: we gutted and renovated a two-unit house over the course of 4.5 months. This involved nearly a dozen contractors, several of whom I've given strong reviews to on Angie's List (including CGG Drywall, Ferguson Enterprises and NorthEast Iron Works). Stone Masters was the least reliable contractor and caused us the most headache. Sibel is a perfectly pleasant person to work with. The problem is that the goods don't arrive or don't arrive on time. From the start, we had a very clear understanding with her of what was to be delivered and she knew the timeline we were working with. Sibel missed many of the deadlines we established. Several deadlines were missed on several occasions. Every missed deadline brought a new explanation/excuse (late deliveries from the manufacturer, missing parts, damaged product, an emergency). An example: we ordered two vanities from Sibel. She confirmed a delivery date. She missed the deadline. We called and tried to get an update. We received a new delivery date. She missed that. This continues, holding up our GC and other parts of the home renovation. Eventually the vanities arrive: one is damaged and the other is the wrong size. Sibel offers us a discount or an exchange. Because we couldn't hold up the install any longer, we went with the discount. Another example: our house passed inspection and we occupied it at the end of April. At the time, Sibel had failed to finish at least four items from the punch list. Every week we asked for an update on when she would finish. Every week we received promises that it would be done soon. It's now eight weeks later. As I write this, I'm waiting for her carpenter to come finish the job. He was supposed to arrive this morning. I texted her to ask where he is. Her response, verbatim and in its entirety: "I am so annoyed [at the carpenter] right now! I am so sorry for having you wait, again. At this point I don't even know what to say." Her prices are admittedly low and she says that she's sorry. But in my view the savings/apologies aren't worth this kind of service.

This is a family owned business who will work with you and bend over backwards to give you a product you will be very happy with. I contacted three businesses initially and although he was not the cheapest, he was the most thorough, punctual and courteous. Reggie is meticulous and guides you through it. He'll make recommendations and tell you what you could do, and most importantly what you shouldn't do and why. He'll listen, recommend options, and in the end let you decide what you want and what fits your budget. The work was slow at times, but I prefer slow work done correctly, then work done quickly and poorly. The only negative comment I have is that sometimes I wish he made more solid recommendations on material selection. I initially had Reggie do two bathrooms which were done properly under his supervision. I hadn't planned starting right away on the masterbathroom, but I had floor tile breaking up. He suggested that I can replace the floor and cabinets and then come back when I was ready to do the bathtub and shower stall. The plan worked out bery well. When he finished it was beautiful. After allowing Reggie to remodel three bathrooms I can say without reservation, that they are an excellent, honest and hardworking business. As with any contractor, the more involved you are all along the way, the better the product is going to be. Stay involved, make adjustments, and realize the most things are not as easy as you would like. If you hire Reggie, you have someone who is easy to work with and will ensure you are happy with the final product.

The initial meeting was wonderful. Sibel was warm and friendly. Showed me and my mom all kinds of granite. Explained the process very clearly. Then when it came to the time of installation, Sibel was quick to make appointment for someone to come and take measurements. Then one week later, a crew came to do the installation. However, I caught the crew smoking outside of my condo when I came to answer the door. So I had stench of cigarettes all over my kitchen. But, other than that, the installation was smooth. I noticed a huge mark after I came home. I called about it and Sibel said she'd send someone to come and take a look at it. But, it has taken 2 weeks just to get to that. Communication hasn't been very smooth between us. Hard to reach on the phone. Constantly left messages on the machine. Her e-mail system seems one-way directed. So whenever I respond to her e-mail, it'd bounce back. She doesn't have the quickest response time. But the service is quick. The granite is beautiful.
