Andy and the team were very punctual and professional. They arrived to give us an estimate and surprisingly told us what did not need to be done. When the returned for the installation they were again very professional and EXTREMELY CLEAN! There was NO mess left behind. There was a problem with the installation that Andy not only explained, but showed me. The new part needed to be made by a third party vendor. When it was delayed, I was notified immediately. The installation was completed with no problems. Andy called two weeks later to see how the wood stove was working and to see if we had any problems. I have already referred them to several of my friends!

The crew (the owner's son Tristan and another worker) showed up on time, set about their business, finished, and cleaned up nicely in about an hour total. I notice that they cleaned not just the chimneys but the "shelf" above, and also I can see they replaced a cotter pin in the damper. I had asked them about a problem I was having with the second chimney, a metal stovepipe over an insert fireplace, which seemed to be leaking water after a snow or rain; they cleaned out old caulk on the roof and replaced it at no extra charge. I was home at the time the work was done so I got a full oral report on their inspection. (Otherwise, they would leave notes on the job ticket they leave at your door.) They mentioned some need for repairs which I subsequently contracted with them for completion (see separate report).

Once again we were very pleased with the work - the job was well done as scheduled and at a reasonable cost. (Re: cost, it's worth noting this breakdown: the new stainless-steel cover, which is prefabricated and had to be ordered, cost $475; Rooftop charged $150 to install it; and the repairs of the other chimney as described were 375.) Once the ordered part arrived, the company automatically scheduled themselves to return to install it and do the other repairs. (I did call to ask when the work would be performed, but wouldn't have needed to). I haven't been climbing on the roof myself but I have no reason to think the work isn't excellent. From the ground I can see the new chase cover that was installed. Also, Rooftop had re-done the crown on the first chimney for me 15 years ago, and that work had lasted until now, which provides a measure of the quality of their work.

They were fine. They did what they said they would do. They weren't too expensive. The guy gave good advise.

They were 10 minutes late but called to inform me and given Washington DC traffice that was "on time". They worked quickly and professionally. did a safety check of the whole system I have never had a sweep to do this. I heat with wood so that meant alot. They cleaned up and you would never know they had been there. They also offered to take this old tv antenna off the roof...so bless them for that. They have been in the business 30 years and I will use again.

Great Service Reasonable prices They came and cleaned our chimney and fireplace. Evaluated our chimney for safety at our request. Took pictures and demonstrated safety hazards. We use a wood stove insert and burn 2-3 cords per season. Answered all of our questions. They relined our chimney in a timely and efficient manner. Very professional and cleaned area thoroughly especially after cleaning the fireplace/stove. I have waited to submit this report and can say that we have burned at least 1 cord and have had no problems with the fireplace.

They came out with less than a week's notice to inspect my chimney and clean it if necessary. No cleaning was necessary, and they informed me that based on my estimated usage they would recommend another inspection in 3 years.

They showed up on time and did the work as expected.

They are very punctual and clean up well after themselves. They tell you exactly what they are doing and what is going on with the fire place. I have used them twice and my neighbor is using them as well.

I arranged for this inspection because another company suggested I needed chimney liners and lock-top dampers. When I did so, the secretary made no mention of a charge for an inspection and repair proposal. The technicians came and charged $99. They said a formal proposal would come, and they gave me a receipt with a few lines of abbreviated non-sensical recommendations for repair along with cost ranges. No formal proposal came. Calls to Rooftop were unreturned. I filed a complaint on 5 Jan 09 with the Better Business Bureau. Mr. Andrew R. Raycroft, owner of Rooftop Chimney Sweeps, responded in a letter dated 14 Apr 09, stating "We also wrote our recommendations and cost at the bottom of the report." Of note, the report was a half page of paper -- and besides a formal proposal was promised. The tardiness of Raycroft's reply is further evidence of his lack of customer service. I will pursue additional action as necessary.

Very well. Andrew Raycroft is wonderful to work with and quite professional. He even took the time to remove an old TV antenna from the roof for us.

AWFUL! I would not pay this company to do any work for me. While they were nice, they completely ignored me after I asked if they had a license number. Since fireplace safety is so critical to fire prevention, I cannot imagine allowing this company to work on my home. They are doing contracting work without a license.
