Description of Work: Level one inspection of two gas fireplaces. Rooftop Owner Tom even came to the house to go over fireplace operations as we are new owners and had concerns about using gas. Learned our rear chimney was cracked (passed home inspection but it looked like a temp fix). To repair, they added a crown coat and installed new cap on rear fire place. Took photos before and after. Very professional. Drake was the lead. Great job. Gave lots of detail. Didn't do a price comparison but will bring them back to do flash seal repairs, no need to look for another company.

Description of Work: Rooftop Chimney Sweeps came to my house to inspect and sweep my chimney. They were responsive, on time, professional, friendly, and tidy. They did a sweep for $199 and also put a camera up into the stack to look around. They identified some issues needed to bring the chimney up to code and provided a timely estimate to fix the issues. Overall for the services I received I would rate them as Excellent. I could have chosen a cheaper company for the sweep, or found a promotion. But I wanted to use an Alexandria based company. I feel more comfortable having fires in my fireplace now, and that is most important. As for the estimate for further work on the chimney, I felt it was a bit high and would get multiple quotes before choosing to have the service done. My house is more than 50 years old and the chimney has never been up to the current code standards. So I will have this service done in time.

Description of Work: The best sweep experience we have ever had. Kudos to Tom Raycroft and assistant. Thorough, quiet, careful and prompt, he is a true professional. Told me that second chimney did not need cleaning.

Description of Work: they cleaned the chimney and fire box and replaced the catalytic "combuster" which I had already purchased. They arrived on time, were well organized, and did their work and left the house clean. They had some difficulty changing the combuster but solved the problem and got the new one installed.

Description of Work: A first company told me I needed $12,800 worth of repairs to my two fireplaces and chimneys and they were unsafe for fires. I contacted second company which inspected the chimneys, said the chimneys were unsafe and estimated $3,800 to do the repairs. I then contacted Rooftop Chimney Sweeps, Ltd., which inspected the chimneys, said they were quite safe for fires and suggested some relative minor masonry and flue repairs. We agreed and this company came the same week and did the work without disturbing us for $433. Several neighbors had similar experiences. We have had several fires since the repairs and had no problem what-so-ever. I strongly recommend Rooftop Chimney Sweeps.
