2.5 hrs for a quote for 5 Windows is unnecessary, and a waste of our time and the sales reps time. We have had other jobs done to our home and are not new to getting quotes, seeing what each company offers, and what best meets our needs and budget.

I wasn't here when they installed the door, after I saw the work, there were some challenges with the screws. They didn't come with the right screws and they should have advised that we reframe the door. They didn't do that, they just installed it. The door started having the same issues that we were having with the previous door and that is why we had to replace it. The good thing is that they came back and dealt with the issues that we have had. We feel like we have a lifetime guarantee with them, but I would have appreciated if they did the work correctly the first time. My interactions have been fine, and they have been relatively responsive. They did come and fix the door, but the panel is brick where the door hinges are screwed in and there is a little bit of a hole and that should have been filled. We would have paid more for that. They came back when the door started coming off the hinge, and they came back and said they should have put longer screws.

The service went excellent! They came out and measured ahead of time and then came back out to install the door. By the time they left everything was working perfectly, the way the installed the door is perfectly balanced and it opens and closes without issue. They also cleaned up extremely well and aside from the new door you'd never know they were here.

This is my second time using NOVA Exteriors. The first time they installed windows in my home and I was so pleased that I called them for roofing. They did not disappoint! Everyone did a great job from the office staff to the installers. I'm a Realtor and I recommend NOVA to clients and friends. They are honest, well priced and do excellent work.

Kenny was my salesman, and he was very enjoyable to talk to. He ended up staying at my house for nearly two hours but that was only because I kept asking questions. He was much more knowledgeable than the salesmen I dealt with during the two other estimates I received. I ultimately went with a company that had a lower pricing, but for a lower quality window. If you care more about quality than price, then I would highly recommend getting an estimate from Nova.

I waited until the first snow storm after installation before completing this review, and I'm very happy to report my overall satisfaction with the quality of service, workmanship, and the product (a Provia door). Sam, the consultant, met me at my home, evaluated my door and door frame, briefed me on the products available, and negotiated what I consider to be a fair price for the work required. A few days later the door and related items were ordered (there is an ordering delay built into the contract to allow the homeowner to cancel it--a legal requirement). After the door/frame were complete, Nova Exteriors informed me that one of the sidelights failed inspection. Addressing this issue caused an installation delay, however, I'm very happy the company identified the faulty sidelight BEFORE it was installed. Some weeks later Mike and PJ, the installation professionals, arrived as scheduled and completed the work in an efficient, professional, yet personable manner. They took time to answer my questions and were careful to evaluate whether there was any hidden damage resulting from the damaged door and frame they were replacing. They cleaned as they worked and even hand-mopped and polished the hardwood foyer when they were finished! This was pretty much an all-day job, and I was fine with that because they gave the project the attention it deserved. Some days later, and at my request, they returned to address small gaps in the outside caulk. It was probably OK as it was, but I asked them to address it out of an abundance of caution, given the winter season, and they were very responsive. Now about the Provia door: I love it! It's well-balanced, solid, and high quality. It replaced a builder grade door and there is already a marked difference in my home's energy efficiency. In fact, my Pepco Home Energy Report grade went from Good to Great! Another unexpected benefit is that there is less noise pollution entering my home. Again, very happy with this door and the service from all involved.

They never responded or showed up. I filled out my information on their website's contact form. I suspect that it was a fluke (we all miss emails), so I do not really hold it against them. I am mostly publishing the review so they setup a system so that they do not miss such notifications in the future because they potentially lost business from it (I did replace my roof, but through a different company). I rated them a C because I do not think it's fair to hold a single missed email against the company that might otherwise be very good.

Very well. Only complaint was in the beginning as the door frame was not what was ordered so the install date was pushed. I was told the new frame was going to be rushed but it took an additional 4 weeks. Original order was placed back in July and install was not until November.

We arranged for an at home estimate for above work. We knew exactly what we wanted in terms of brand (ProVia) and models and features having done extensive online research and having discussed our requirements with other manufacture and sales representatives. This information was provided to the NovaExteriors representative when we made the appointment ? we were told that the estimate would take about one hour. Three hours plus later the pleasant, but persistent NovaExteriors representative was continuing his well scripted and rehearsed pitch half focused on detailing the alleged failings of other brands ? which we were never considering. He ran all the classic ploys to include the old heat lamp trick. When we finally stopped him and came to the free on the spot quote it was another very consumer unfriendly con ?the 1 year, 30 day and TODAY ONLY pricing (with discount coupons thrown in). If NovaExteriors make money on the TODAY ONLY price why then a 30 day and 1 year price ? it is their business model and a consumer scam. Just listen to the explanation of the TODAY ONLY price ? if I have to return another time it will mean that I would miss out on the opportunity to give another three hour plus pitch to another potential customer. After some more low keyed pressure, including the what do I tell my sales manager ploy we said thank you and good bye. We were called back a week or so later. We told the representative that their prices ? even the TODAY ONLY price was too high. And it was. We got at home estimates from two other qualified ProVia dealers with ratings equal to or better (IMO) than NovaExteriors. The representatives were the owners of the company ? no sales staff ? and were without any sales pitch beyond a willingness to clearly and concisely answer our questions. AND their prices were considerably cheaper than the NovaExteriors quoted TODAY ONLY price ? for the French doors that was almost 20% cheaper. Buyer beware.

UPDATE 11.19.15 Once again, the unprofessional nature and lack of attention to detail is proven by the response from Nova Exteriors. The fact is, my door is not secure since I cannot reset my alarm to it until the project is done. I also cannot paint the frame until the project is done. So yes, criminals can get access to my home. I will quote the person I spoke with after they messed up the door the second time "mistakes happen but customer service is all about what you do after the fact." Is the door fixed? NO. Is this still an issue? YES. Have I had to miss time from work to deal with this? YES. Has this been handled in a professional manner? NO. Is this a reputable company? NO. Have they made good on their promises? NO. I recently joined angie's list and Nova Exteriors was the first company that I hired. Read other reviews and seemed to have a great reputation. Unfortunately, they could not have been worse. I scheduled an appointment on August 28th to have a salesperson come out and give me an estimate. I liked their products and bought a door during that appointment since I wanted to have the project done quickly and knew that it would take time to order the door I wanted. The cost of the door was $2700.00 which included installation. I requested that they expedite the door and they agreed to do so. The first door arrived approximately 6 weeks later and was damaged during shipping, so Nova had to order a new door from the manufacturer. I understand things happen and it wasnt a huge problem. When the next door arrived, 2 weeks later, Nova called to set up an installation. After ripping out my existing door and frame, the installer realized that the door opened the wrong way - maybe something you want to check BEFORE creating a huge hole in the front of someone's home. The installation crew was also very unprofessional, in fact one of the installers was screaming and physically threatening people driving past my home as he felt they got too close to him. It was unbelievable. They had already trashed the old door, so I asked that they install the new door (which opened the wrong way) and the installers were none too happy about it. Sorry, maybe check first and you wont have to do twice the work. I spoke with several people at their office, and was offered a $250 discount, which is the same "coupon" they advertise on angie's list. After I rejected their "generous" offer of a coupon, they agreed to give me a $500 discount. After calling them several times to find out the status of the correct door, 3 weeks later the new door arrived. The new installation crew was very professional and I had no problems with them. During the installation of the new door, I noticed a big dent in the upper left corner. I was informed that they would order YET ANOTHER DOOR and the installation would be simple. When the new door arrived and the crew came to install this past Saturday (and waking me up at 730am on a weekend), they realized that the 4th - not joking - 4th door they order OPENED THE WRONG WAY AGAIN!!!! How incompetent do you have to be to make the same mistake over and over again?!? I have had to call them to find out when the 5th door would arrive, which should happen in the next 2 weeks. So this simple, single door project that was ordered on August 28th still isnt finished and wont be before December. I would not recommend Nova Exteriors to anyone nor would I ever use them again.

They spent much too much time obtaining building permit which they farmed out to a third party. Consequently deck was delayed several weeks. We dealt with two or three project managers which were not very helpful. Spiral staircase which is attached to deck was not ordered until several weeks after deck was completed. We are satisfied with the new deck as constructed.

It went extremely well. I left a key to the front door in the lock box and when I came home later that afternoon, my two new doors were completely installed.

We used Nova Exteriors last fall to replace our windows so we hired them do do our exterior doors. They are not the cheapest, but they do good quality work and the windows and doors are custom made and look wonderful. We've already seen differences in the heating and cooling of our home. The crew came out and was finished in a day. Minimal mess, cleaned up, and was very professional. Dog friendly too. We like them so much, they are doing out kitchen.

Great service. Very responsive and the replacement went well, according to schedule, with respectful and considerate customer service. The cost was slightly above that of similar quotes I had received, but I felt more comfortable with the good grades on this website and also through the Nova team. Some constructive criticism - none of which detracts from an overall "A" grade - (1) Just a few nails left over that perhaps their subcontractor could have cleaned up. (2) the initial consultation was fine, but the chap who came was 45 minutes late and then proceeded to lay on a series of deals when I said I would not close that day. Well, it worked because I did :) After closing the contract, he then mentioned a potential sub-contractor fee for manual transfer of paneling totaling potentially $450. I would have preferred a supplier to be upfront about that kind of thing. (In the end they didn't need the manual hauling so the fee never materialized.) (3) On quality, I'll give you a more truthful answer in 20 years but no complaints at all :)

Nova Exteriors did expert work. The exployees and owner Peter Vlantis were very helpful. The new surround, trim, and capping look great !

Delivered and installed all 4 exterior doors on the same day. Came back once for a minor adjustment to one of the doors. Competent and efficient workmen. Only downside is that it took over 2 months from date of deposit until delivery and installation.

The salesman was too aggressive, and became angry when I declined to sign the purchase contract. He was determined to sell me doors from a specific manufacturer even though that manufacturer did not have a door that matched the style/design I wanted. I email him myltipke pictures of exactly what style door I wanted. Made a follow up call to the office to see if they could order doors that matched my desires. The salesman returned with the sane catalog from one manufacturer and could t meet my needs. Completely wasted my time and his. Apsakeman became rude and abrasive and implied that I wasted his time. Ok

In 2005, they installed a sliding glass door and it had a lifetime warranty, it had a double pane glass with gas in between. The last year, the glass clouded up and when I went online, the manufacturer doesn't make those sliding doors anymore and they wouldn't stand by it and so I called Norther Virginia Exteriors and they said well the manufacture doesn't stand by it but we do. They came over here and at no charge to me, they completely replaced those sections of the door. They were timely, efficient. They did a fantastic job. I would call them if I had to do something like that. That was exceptional service.

Please note I didn't use them because I turned my property over to a property manager who does repair through their own contractor.

It was very good. It was quick and painless. When they got it done, it was done. There were no issues afterwards. It was fine.

I need them to do some follow-up work. I'm going to call them to come back and look at it.

They were great. They explained everything well when they came over for the first time to go over the products. They also talked about price and price was good. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Their financing was great. It worked really well for us. It was quick and easy. They came and did the work. They didn't leave any mess and everything has been great ever since. The products are good. They were lower than other companies. For what you get, it was worth it even though it cost plenty of money.

The salesman used pressure tactics (this price is good only if you purchase today), but we were able to negotiate and reach a reasonable price that we all agreed on. We had received two other estimates and the price we negotiated was about $500 less than the other estimates for the exact same doors. The salesman's presentation was very good and he took the time to cover several different options, whereas the others only measured and later provided a written estimate. We were very impressed with the salesman's preparedness and knowledge of his product line. We had to make a down payment (1/3 of the total price) to finalize the order (paid the remainder upon completion). The door was ordered and installed approximately two weeks later, which seems to be the industry standard. The installers were professional and clearly took pride in their work. The doors look and function perfectly. I would highly recommend Nova if you are considering replacing doors. We will likely call on them again when we are ready to replace our windows.

Refused to provide an estimate because my spouse was not there. I explained that my spouse had left me in charge of this project and the she would be involved in the final decision. That apparently wasn't good enough and the estimator left. I stayed at home for the day for this and got nothing for it

We got the name from our neighbor. I want to call them back. I thought they were really good He came out and explained it and he was nice. The only thing I don't like is saying if you di it right now we will do this deal and I don't like that pressure. You have to be ready for them to do that. I don't like to be pressured. I thought they were very professional, did the job quickly. We needed gutters also and added that to the work. I like that they have dedicated team so the people that did the roof did not do the gutters. I was very happy. We had moments when we didn't know they were coming but we ad so much rain and the glue wouldn't hold so it was not their fault. But they did the work quickly. I am going to call them because it does not look like some of the shingles are laying flat. And they said it takes a couple of weeks for them to lay down.
