The lead on the project was incredible rude throughout the project. They neglected to wrap the underside of the window and when I asked them to complete that part of the window he was clearly upset. (we have sprinklers that spray up under the window from time to time so we needed that completed. They work is OK but the wrap seems to have some gaps and lumpiness to it... When I called Transnational and they came out to give me an estimate my neighbor was home and I called him over to explain what I was doing and asked if he wanted to talk to them while they were here. He ended up hiring them for a much bigger project (his entire house). Transnational did not offer any sort of referral fee or incentive. Please heed the warnings of everyone else ahead of me - they will hound you incessantly for payment and will not do a walk- through with you. They are rude and their work is very mediocre.

I would like to apologize for your dissatisfaction in our services. However, I feel its necessary to clarify certain things. You signed a contract for trim in the amount of $2,500 and gave us a deposit of $100 with the final balance of $2,400. The work was completed on Jan. 8th 2014. You left for California during our installation and long after completion. We asked you for courtesy walk-through and final payment of $2,400 but you said you were out of town. Over 2 weeks passed after completion and no response from you. On Jan. 23rd you finally responded to our email and stated that you would get back with us in 4 days. On Feb.1st. you stated your mailing a check of $2,300. Our office manager immediately called to explain the balance is off by $100. You told my office manager that you would check your numbers and would get back with us. I called you on Feb. 13th. and kindly explained to you again that you were short on your payment. I finally received your payment on Feb. 14th. I am willing to make any corrections and do what I can to make you a satisfied customer. I do apologize that you had a misunderstand about the final payment but your final statement and our contract was very clear of the balance. Throughout the work and after, you have never addressed the capping of the underside of the bay window. Please check your email history between you and Mike (production manager). If there are any corrections that needs to be made, please call our office so that I may arrange to send out our technician and provide you with our services. Thank You, John Kim

Their sales person calls me every couple of months and says he has put in the request but a year later no one has called and no one had come to care of the problem. If they cannot follow up I will never use them for any other work. I have given work to other contractors but will not use this one again.
Description of Work: They covered all my trim with a lifetime vinyl trim that does not require any maintenance with a lifetime warranty. At the time they told me they would repair or replace any damaged trim. I called them for a repair in Nove 2012 and they charged me an much too much for just repairing the trim on one garage door saying it was not covered under the warranty. Since then I called them in early 2013 for a repari because someone backed into my garage for and ruined the trim and all I have had is a run-around and to date no one has come to fix it.

Back in 2011, we finished the trim wrap project for your home. You ran your car into the garage trim piece and we fixed the work out of courtesy at no extra charge. 2012, you ran your car again into the garage trim and we fixed the trim piece. 2013, you damaged the garage trim piece again and we explained to you that we had to charge for the repairs. Our material/labor warranty does not cover your vehicle running into the garage. We repaired in the past out of courtesy but you can not expect us to fix your garage trim over and over again at no charge. We will gladly fix the damaged piece but you must pay the extra charges. Please feel free to contact our office. Thank You

My advice to anyone reading this is negotiate hard with them. TransNational seemed to be just a front for other contractors. The crew that did the work was good but they weren't TransNational employees. I talked the sales guy down a little and would have gone harder if I knew that. My advice, if you are getting multiple quotes for a job, let these guys beat your best offer. Drop names and they will drop the price
Description of Work: Used TransNational Corporation to add attic insulation to get me from R9 to R18. The crew that did the work was efficient and did a nice job. Their sales guy gave me a quote for exactly what I was asking for. He didn't push me into a higher level of product.

Contacted TransNational and requested an estimate on 10/4/13 as one of several companies contacted for this work. Estimate was completed by Dan on 10/9/13. Dan was personable and professional, giving a thorough discussion of the window lines that TransNational offered, their features and options. The majority of TransNational's windows are Simonton, custom manufactured to size, installed by TransNational employees. Dan took initial measurements of all the windows to make the estimate. The estimate ended up being one of the two lowest we received. I told Dan at the time of the estimate that we were not going to be able to commit to doing the job for a few weeks. Dan told us that the estimate was good to the end of the year (surprising considering most of the other companies were pushing for immediate commitment by offering same day order discounts). We agreed that he would follow up with us in two weeks. We reviewed the company's past performance on similar jobs, checked references, and Angie's list. The Angie's list reviews showed that the company did a consistently good job with installation and product support, but got marked down for overly aggressive telemarketing. We experienced some of that--although we had set up a contact time with Dan, we received three separate phone calls from TransNational's business office trying to make the sale during the two week waiting period. We chose to go with TransNational based on a combination of the price and post-installation satisfication by other customers. Dan returned and completed the contract with us on 10/23/13. Three days later, the lead installer, Jason, came to take the exact measurements for the windows, and the company sent in the order to Simonton. The new windows were delivered to our home on 11/11/13 and 11/12/13, and were installed on 11/13/13. The two man crew easily completed the installation of 18 of the 19 windows in one day. The quality of the work was excellent. The final window could not be installed, because the new window was 7 inches short in width, either due to an order or manufacturing error. TransNational immediately ordered a replacement, which was installed on 12/6/13. We made one change order to the job after the original order, which resulted in replacing the lower sash in one window. TransNational only charged us for the cost of the new sash, with no other charges or fees. Overall, the process went very well. We were impressed with the company's prompt response to the error, which caused only a three week delay in getting the final window installed. Based on our experience, we would recommend TransNational for window replacement to anyone who can tolerate their aggressive sales tactics.

We received a cold call from Transnational and chose to setup an appointment as we are in need of replacement french doors and connected transom windows for three doors. The contacts on the phone were very professional, responsive, and prompt - in fact they set up an appointment for the next morning. When the salesman arrived (on-time), he seemed dis-interested, aloof, and to be honest, like he just didn't feel like being here. My office windows are in the front of the house and I could see him shuffling up the driveway, clearly not feeling the love. I showed him the doors/windows, explained our quote requirements. He didn't even inspect the doors, but told me to turn around and go inside, this is standard. Without ever opening the catalog, showing me options, etc. He quoted me a price of $5,000 per door. After confirming that my ears did not fail me, he started to ask me how long I planned on being in the house...to which I explained to him we were finished. I may not be a door expert, but I feel as if I was about to embark on a negotiating discussion where he started at the high end and then was going to show me "how much of a deal" he could give me, just because he is a nice guy....the experience left me with a horrible feeling that if I were to continue the discussion, I would have been swindled. I can only speak to my experience with the cold caller, dispatcher, and salesman. The review rating on Angie's list shows exemplary delivery and workmanship which is why I agreed to schedule the appointment, but the up front marketing can't be ignored, know your audience...I am a marketing professional, so I spotted this guy a mile away.

At 20 years and having suffered several recent leaks due to rain, our roof had finally come to the point where it needed to be replaced. We called several companies and received multiple estimates, but ultimately decided to hire this company due to recommendations from others and the availability of interest free financing. The roofers showed up early in the morning (7:30AM) and immediately got to tearing off our old roof. As the day progressed it turned out the roof was more damaged than previously thought as 8 sheets of plywood needed to be replaced. However, the roofers took the setback in stride and continued to work very diligently throughout the morning and afternoon. Everything was meticulously done and I am very pleased with how the roof turned out. Additionally, they also made sure to clean up after the job was finished and walked around the house and adjacent yards with magnets to pick up all the nails. Roofs are never cheap to replace, but I certainly feel that I received a good deal and will sleep much easier tonight with a roof that won't leak anymore.

The same day that they called me, I asked the neighbor about them. The neighbor didn't know anything about them! When I called the company back, they gave me a different address on my street where they had done work about 2 years ago. I cancelled the appointment, thinking that if they can't be honest about what they have done, I don't want to deal with them at this time.

The final inspection just got done for the deck yesterday and I'm overall happy with everything. I will admit, after I signed the contract with Transnational. I saw some negative feed backs online about folks not happy with their marketing or calling. I decided to keep the contract since most other reviews about workmanship was good. They did my windows first then came back in two weeks to start the deck. The deck start was a bit slow because i couldn't find my Plat! The company even tried to look for it at the county but no luck! I did have to spend extra $300 to get a plat for my house. I now know you need a plat to get a permit. One lesson learned because I thought I always had the copy but.......Always keep a copy of a plat! Overall, I'm very happy. Mike...(can't remember last name) was the dispatch guy and he always kept me well informed. I was just frustrated about the plat but I always thought I had a copy. Lesson learned. Good work and good service!

They were not so good, there were a lot of unfinished details. We ended up having to sand some plywood walls in a room addition at the end of the deck and paint them and put in the flooring in that room ourselves. There are still places on the exterior of the house that need to be painted. There were places that were exposed because of the construction and they need to be painted to match the rest of the house. Underneath the deck there were exposed things and we had someone come in several months later to talk about putting flagstone or something underneath there because it was too shady for grass to ever grow but it was getting wet so it was a big red mud pile and it was coming into the house on people's feet. We had 3 estimates, different companies came in and they all sort of were curious when they looked at the back of the steps that came down from the deck, they just seemed to be puzzled. Nothing happened according to schedule and I guess that's so prevalent that nobody even raises their eyebrows anymore. Sometimes they just disappear for several days. Nobody pointed out that the room was relatively unusable in weather like this or in deepest winter, so it was really a spring and fall room. I think they were pretty sleek, they have every appearance of professionalism but I guess they are snakes.

Description of Work: TransNational Corp just did our siding last week. They replaced the siding on one side and had to pull off and back on both sides after the storm because one side has a broken siding so they replaced it and they capped the front area of the house and they put the vinyl around the window. These fools think that I exist for their amusement. First they violate the FCC Do No Call procedures. They called my home, I saw an unidentified number and did not answer. My answering machine message ran and they hung up without identifying themselves. Not a minute goes by before I get another call from a similar number, now identifying itself as Trans National. Again, I let the machine get it and it turns out that a group of them got together and put my call on speaker because they thought my message was funny and wanted a bunch of cackling women to listen to it. Yes, I heard them laughing and repeating out loud portions of the message. I couldn't believe it. Not only do these fools have the most annoying job in the world, but they are making things worse by being bad at it. Are they really that stupid that they think people are not screening these incredibly invasive solicitation calls? But wait, there's more. I decide to call them and point out just how inappropriate their behavior was -- I know, but letting sleeping dogs lie is not my style. I also wanted to insist that they remove me from their list so that I don't have to get dozens of calls until everyone at the company has heard my message. It took some doing, I never did reach a human being, but I got the answering machine of someone who identified himself as the office manager. I left a message. Later that same evening, I noticed an email message from my telephone service provider that yet another call came in from these morons within minutes of the second call. Only this time they got my service and not my answering machine because I was on the phone trying to lodge a complaint against them. If these idiots are this unprofessional in their methods of obtaining customers, I wouldn't take their services for free. I have never contracted with them to provide any services, I do know of anyone who used them, and I can't speak to the quality of their work or even what they do. I am just relaying my actual experience with them and my reasons for deciding that I would never conduct any business with them.

On 8/8/11, I entered a contract with Transnational to replace some rotted wood and cap my front door frame and entryway and replace some gutters. They collected $700 deposit. I was to pay an estimated $1300 at the job completion. Prior to their scheduling the work (over a month had passed before an attempt was made to schedule it), I contacted my Transnational sales representative, Jeff Seidel, to request a modification to the contract based on a recommendation from a licensed carpenter NOT to cap the front door entryway, as the underlying wood was rotted beyond repair. I'd contracted the carpenter had visited my home to perform other work inside the home when he noticed the door frame. He said that the door frame needed to be completely replaced. Capping it, according to the carpenter, would only serve to mask the problem. After several phone conversations with Mr. Seidel and a more senior level person at Transnational named and quot;Pauland quot;, Mr. Seidel agreed to meet me at a designated time/date at my home to discuss further. He never showed or called to explain why he didn't show. At this point, I simply wanted my deposit returned. As it turned out, the contract was not legally valid because it did not contain an approx work start date IAW VA State Board of Contractors Regulations. Further, because they waited more than 30 days to even attempt to schedule the work, they had and quot;abandonedand quot; the work. See http://www.dpor.virginia.gov/uploadedFiles/MainSite/Content/Boards/Contractors/A501-27REGS.pdf After several subsequent calls to the Transnational office, and conversations with and quot;Pauland quot;, and a message left with Mr. Kim (CEO), I still had no resolution as of December 2011. And yes, their telemarketers STILL call me.
Description of Work: Contracted with Transnational to replace some rotted wood and cap my front door frame and entryway and replace some gutters. They took my $700 deposit and never performed any work.
