I sent a note to Mr. Nasr on Sunday and he was at my house on Tuesday. He replaced an old bathroom light fixture with a new one that I already had. He also installed a GFE outlet. This took about 90 minutes. When he was finished he suggested that the light plate and switch be changed to match the new outlet. He had previously told me the charge for the outlet would be $125 and after he replaced the light switch and plate to match, it was still $125!! Mr. Nasr responded quickly to my request for service, he arrived when promised, was very professional, completed the requested service plus more for the originally quoted price, and cleaned up prior to departing. Moreover, he did all this and never touched the breaker box. I was amazed. Great work for a great price.

It went well. They were very good and very professional. They showed up on time. They were upfront to their pricing. I did have some issues getting them electrical permits for the work. Overall, the job was good. They did a good job.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for Nasr Electric. They also installed some recessed lighting and rewired them.

We could not have had a better experience - very pleased with the professionalism, price and quality of work of Nasr Electric. The owner himself, Joseph Nasr, responded to my initial phone call immediately and he came by the next day to discuss the job and offer a quote. My husband was very happy with the competitive price and scheduled the job for this week. Joseph and his team arrived as promised and went right to work. I was a little worried about cleaning up after, as I have small children, but was happily surprised with how neat the team were and how they took care to clean up after they were finished. Joseph took the time to explain exactly what they done and was very patient with our questions - as a bonus he even fixed a light fixture in my closet after I mentioned I had an issue with it! Highly recommend Joseph & Nasr Electric and we will definitely be using them in the future.

This is the second time that Nasr electric has done work for us, and we will continue to rely on them for any and all of our electrical needs. Joseph Nasr is always extremely professional, friendly, and prompt. His crew is the same, and they do outstanding work. Both Joseph and his crew are exceptionally focused on satisfying their customers. I called Joseph a day after the job to install my recessed lighting was complete. We had decided that we really wanted to have a different temperature LED light. Joseph got the replacement lights and came to my house and changed them out with no additional charge. He wanted us to be completely happy, and he didn't want us to pay extra for the time and inconvenience of having to get all new lights and replace them. Nasr Electric is simply the best!

TL;DR: Nasr electric did a great job on the first day replacing electrical panel and installing outdoor GFCI outlet. Owner was nice and accommodating. Subsequent works in a few days later, however, was not completed to my satisfactory. The owner expects me to patch the mistake they made. Didn?t clean up properly after job, and didn?t cover the recessed light IC housing with insulation as promised. Price: B Not the lowest bid, but the owner is reasonable about removing charges for the work he didn't perform or materials that he didn't provide. Quality: D If I'd rate only the first day of work, I'll probably give a B. Before considering the 2nd day of work, is an F-, I decided D is fair grade Responsiveness: C At first, it was good. He responded to all my emails. But after we agreed to start the work, I sent numerous emails that was not responded. Later he explained he was on vacation. But after he came back, he still not replying emails. I have to call him to confirm time, and materials requirements. He is always available on the phone, but not email. Punctuality : B They were late both day, but the second time he did inform me the night before. No big deal. Professionalism: D If I'd rate only the first day of work, I'll probably give an A. More details is in the review below. Long version: The owner Mr. Nasr responded quickly to my request for estimates, came to my house and provided a reasonable bid. We agree to work on some of the jobs he estimated. I did change my mind about some the works need to get done a few days before they start the work and Mr. Nasr was very nice about it and very accommodating. Since he is in a tight schedule, he needs two days to finish all the works. First day (Monday), they arrived 30mins late, but no big deal. He and his crew replaced the main electrical panel, wired them up to codes, provide proper grounding and added an outside GFCI outlet. After they've completed the job, Mr. Nasr scheduled an inspection and informed me when the inspector will be coming. Everything went smoothly and as professional as I expect. We scheduled the remaining jobs for later the week. The inspector came two days later and the new panel passed the inspection. Second day (Friday), the job was to install two 4? recessed lights, add a new switch and relocate an existing switch to be next the new switch in the breakfast area. They supposed to arrive at 8am, but the night before Mr. Nasr told me he and his crew will have to arrive between 10am to 11am. No big deal. Mr. Nasr came before his crew to bring in materials. I was told he doesn?t have the recessed LED light that meet my requirements, but willing to remove the cost of the two recessed LED light from the invoice so I can buy my own. I agreed to that. He left before his crews arrived. When his crew arrives and start working, the whole installation went down hill. First, they cut a hole in the ceiling for 4? recessed light but found out the recessed light IC housing cannot fit between the joists. They cut another hole and reattach the cutout drywall back with a piece of wood. After that, they cut a hole on the wall for two-gang electrical box to accommodate two switches. Then, they found out the wiring for the existing switch is not through the attic, but through the finished basement. In order to relocate the switch, they will have to cut multiple drywalls. Mr.Nars and I discussed about this possibility when Mr. Nasr first came to my house for estimate, but apparently his crew neglected to inspect the wiring before cutting the hole in the wall At this time, Mr. Nasr has returned. After further discussion with Mr. Nasr, I decided not to relocate the existing switch. So, Mr. Nasr replaced the two-gang electrical box with one-gang electrical box. When Mr, Nasr said they are completed, Mr. Nasr sent me a new invoice with revised cost. He removed the cost for the LED lights that he didn?t install, and the cost for relocating the switch. I asked when they are going to patch up the hole they mistaken cut and the gap from two-gang electrical box to one gang electrical box. Mr. Nasr told me they don?t do patch up work, even it is their own mistakes and claimed that it was highlighted in the quotation. I brought out the quotation and there?s no evidence that it was stated. I checked our email exchange and found nothing. He told me he won?t patch the hole and I should do it myself. He argued they couldn?t be sure if the hole can fit when they first cut it. I disagree. There are many ways you can locate a joist before cutting holes and I believe most processionals measure twice and cut once, not the other way around. I told him I will hire someone else to patch it but he will have to bear some of the cost, and I suggested $50. I wanted to be reasonable and willing to discuss a better solution, after all, why I have to fix the mistake they made. If he had mention they wouldn?t patch up drywall, even their own mistakes, I definitely won?t hire them for the job. At this point, Mr. Nasr has lost his cool, visibly agitated and impatiently told me, ?Fine, pay me whatever you want. I hate this?. I deducted $50 from the final payment, which I know it won?t be sufficient to hire a handyman to fix it. After Mr. Nasr got the check, he stomped out of the door, didn?t say a word, no thank you and no apology. I was astounded by his reaction. As soon he left, I found out they didn?t properly clean up the mess they?ve made. My wife told me they didn?t even bring their own vacuum to cleanup and only use our little handheld vacuum to briefly clean the breakfast area. They didn?t clean the foyer and hallway area. My father was helping them to vacuum since we have two young toddlers running around. They left one of the plastic covers with debris in place, left their worn shoes covers in the foyer, and left visible fingerprints on the wall and ceiling. Area rug at the foyer was a mess. After I saw this, I started to worry about the attic and went up there to inspect. I specifically told Mr. Nasr to put back the loose-fill insulation and cover the recessed light IC housing with insulation after the job is completed and Mr. Nasr assured me he would. Well, he didn?t. I think this could have ended in better way if Mr. Nasr stays calm and discuss a better solution with me. This is a terrible experience. Now, I have to find a handyman to clean up the mess left. See attached pictures for their workmanship.
Description of Work: 1) Upgraded power panel to a new 200A panel, all new breakers, all the required grounding, new ground rods service entrance cable and permit 2) Installed outdoor GFCI outlet with weather proof cover. 3) Installed two 4" LED recessed light 4) Added a new switch

We at Nasr Electric pride ourself on our work and commitment to customer service and I am sorry that you feel this way about our work. As the owner of Nasr Electric, I personally answer every phone call and meet with every customer to discuss our work. This situation is as upsetting to you as it is to us, as we strive to treat every customer property with the utmost respect and treat every property as if it was our own. It is unfortunate that there seems to have been some miscommunication regarding your expectations and I would like to explain a bit regarding the drywall patch. It is company policy that we do not patch any drywall under any circumstance. I apologize if that was not clearly communicated to you. I invite you to contact me should you like to further discuss your thoughts. Joseph Nasr (703) 675-1439

I had contacted several companies to get a very straight forward estimate to replace an old Federal (read "fire-hazard") electric panel box and add GFI circuits to a kitchen on a property in Prince William County. The property was vacant but had a lock box on it. Several companies were not interested unless I could be there to talk about the work, which was not at all convenient. This company was one of several that would make the trip. Joseph Nasr was able to quickly get me an estimate, and his quote was reasonably priced. Work had to be scheduled around a big snow due to coordination with the power company, but he completed it as soon as the weather permitted. I had a couple questions about the work after it was completed. Joseph provided me a very detailed explanation of code requirements that required that he do things the way they were done. He gave me the impression that he was prepared to do whatever needed to be done to make sure I was a happy customer - and I was.

After my overhead fluorescent kitchen light died just before New Year's, I purchased an energy efficient LED track lighting kit at Home Depot, and initially planned to just use their installers -- until their installation company called with the first available date: 3 weeks away! I immediately turned to Angie's List. I researched and selected three potential electricians, reaching only the voice mail of the first two; then called the third -- Nasr Electric -- and reached the owner directly, on the second ring! He said one of his electricians was on another job not far away -- and he could send him to my house in an hour! He quoted a reasonable regular price for the work, but also stated that he would honor the 10% Angie's List discount as stated in his ad in the Angie's List Magazine. The electrician promptly arrived an hour later, as promised; was very knowledgeable and courteous; and did an exceptionally neat and professional job of installing the track lighting -- even holding a waste paper basket just beneath the ceiling, to catch the bits of drywall as he carefully expanded the opening to accommodate the plastic electrical box (that was apparently never installed by another company during a 2012 kitchen renovation!). He ensured that all the flood lights in the fixture were working properly, and positioned them to highlight the areas of the kitchen that I identified as needing the most direct light. He also demonstrated how to properly reposition the individual flood lights, should I want to adjust them further. The electrician was thoroughly professional, careful, courteous, and efficient. He even swept up again after he was done, to ensure that no stray bits of drywall or dust were left on the premises! I am so grateful to Nasr Electric for a job exceptionally well done, at nearly a moment's notice, and at an excellent price! I would happily contact them again for any future electrical needs. I have already passed along their name/number, along with my high recommendation, to a friend/neighbor (also on Angie's List), who mentioned needing to get some electrical work done.

Contacting the owner was pretty easy but had to re-email him to get an estimate. He is very flexible though and came by to have a look one evening. Very easy to work with. My old service was a 100 amp panel original to the house with the plug fuses. The owner recommended I upgrade to 150 amps. I probably didn't need to but I like to think of future owners. I had 17 circuits which fell within the pricing deal but the upgrade meant I needed a new meter box and main wire coming in which increased the price a few hundred dollars. Lastly, a new ground wire was ran which increased the price as well. The owner's crew arrived promptly that day and got to work. I had no power for about six hours. Work was going well until they ran the new ground wire to my main water line. I did not want to tear down my basement ceiling so they ran it outside and around to the front of the house then drilled into the brick to connect it to the main water line. I appreciated that. The worker accidentally mismeasured and drilled right into the water line pipe. Good thing I was standing on the other side and shut the water off. I was livid. I've had plumbing problems all year and this was the icing on the cake. I was patient but demanded it would be fixed that night. The hole in the pipe was at a tee and right on the basement wall, probably the worst spot for a repair. The owner, who is apparently a plumber on the side, came later and did a sound repair on the pipe. No leaks. He even gave me a discount for my troubles. I was out of water for 4.5 hours. Aside from the pipe issue, the workers were great and personable. I learned a thing or two from them. My power was on by 4 pm that day and it passed inspection the next day. They also hid the large ground wire outside. Another note, I asked them to install a transfer switch I had purchased for free and they did. The switch allows me to power my furnace fan with a generator. Later I contacted the owner with some questions and he was happy to answer them. Great company and crew.

We needed to replace and upgrade our electrical panel to accommodate a new HVAC system. Joseph Nasr came right away to provide a through assessment and price estimate. The job required some complicated wiring and we appreciated that he took the time to explain what he would need to do to complete the job, including that he will probably need to make some cuts in the drywall. We got a few more estimates but they couldn't beat Joseph Nasr on professionalism and price. We had an outdated, poorly-labeled system so the project took a bit longer than expected but Joseph and his crew came back the next day to complete the job at the agreed price. He also saved us time/money by making only a couple of small holes in the drywall (despite having to run a 75 foot wire to the new electrical panel). Bottom line: Nasr Electric will be difficult top on quality, professionalism, and price.

Quick reply to come out and survey the situation. Quickly saw the extra things that needed to be done (grounding upgrade). Also very good about showing me that there had clearly been some issues where the main electrical supply entered the house (charring, meaning there were occasional sparks flying!). Glad we upgraded when we did. Only criticism- Instructions weren't always entirely clear on the chain of events- Dominion power was very confused when they realized I had done the upgrade without ever contacting them first. I didn't know any better, and the electrician never hinted that I needed to let them know until after it was done. Getting a permit from the county was also an adventure, but that was more a problem on the county's end than on the electrician's. Either way, the work done was great and in a timely manner. I would gladly use them again, and it was a great deal to have our electrical service upgraded.

First, we found Joseph back in October on Angie'st List and called to have him come out for some electrical needs. Our whole house would flicker when we ran our washing machine, so we wanted to see if we needed something replaced. He told us his rate, but he recommended we call the power company to first have them come out as it could be an issue on their end. We called Dominion, they came out, and it was, in fact, an issue on their end. When we told Dominion what Joseph had said, they asked for his company name and number and said they were astounded with his honesty and forthrightness and said they would be recommending him to people that called in needing an electrician. Joseph could have easily come out, charged us his service call rate and told us the same information. He earned our business at that point! We had Joseph come out last week to install a bathroom fan. We explained what we needed over the phone, he asked a few questions about the layout of our attic and bathroom, gave us his rate and told us he could be out within a week to do the install. All we needed to do was buy the fan...it doesn't get much easier than that!! He arrived on time and completed the work with no issues and no mess in no time at all. He also took the time to talk to us about few future improvements we'd like to make. We will 100% be having Joseph back for our future electrical needs and I highly recommend you have him help you with yours!

My project went smooth as can be. He was TERRIFIC to work with. He has several folks that works for him and they also supported the effort. Joseph and his team were all there when they said the would be, they worked efficiently, fixed one area when the outlets didn't match up with the cabinets (hard to tell until after the cabinets were installed) and provided a really good service at a reasonable cost. When Joseph noticed some things that were not up to code (non-electrical), he let me know. He also helped with color choices on outlet covers to make sure they matched the backsplash and recommended things to ensure my kitchen continues to look good. My kitchen renovation project was very successful due to both Joseph and my contractor. I would highly recommend Joseph for electrical requirements. He is my new electrician :-) Jennifer
Description of Work: Joseph upgraded my electrical panel, installed two basement lights in two bedrooms, and also did the electrical work for a remodeled kitchen which included adding new outlets, upgrading existing outlets, hooking up my kitchen under the cabinet lights.

I happily give NASR an A grade in all categories. Joseph is an excellent electrician and shows real commitment to satisfying his customers. He showed up on time to provide the initial estimate and he clearly explained what was involved to complete the work. Once I accepted his offer it was easy to schedule a time to do the work. While the work took a little bit longer than originally planned, the results were just what I had hoped for. He and his crew member worked diligently, made sure everything worked as it should and cleaned up thoroughly. In addition, when they found a couple of minor issues that weren't apparent earlier, they just fixed things without extra charges. I wish more repair service companies showed the same commitment to quality and customer satisfaction that he does. If I need more electrical work done, my first call will be to Joseph.

Joseph Nasr was extremely professional, patient, and informative in attending to the work I needed. When initially contacted, he responded with a visit the same day to inspect the job site. His price for the work was fair and reasonable and he included two small jobs at no additional charge on the work list for the two larger items I needed done. The work was scheduled within a week of my acceptance of his price and he explained what would happen and answered all my questions. On the day of the work, he showed up with his crew promptly as planned and the work was completed that day on the schedule he had promised. He took care of all interfaces with the utility and Fairfax Co. inspection. During the work, he was present for much of the time to supervise the job and problem solve. He set high standards for work quality and at least twice upgraded the area he was working on to improve it and ensure that the final installation met his high quality standards. His work was inspected promptly by Fairfax Co. the next day and passed with flying colors. I would certainly use his company again for future electrical work at my property.
Description of Work: Replaced fuse box with circuit breaker box and upgraded 100 amp service to 200 amps. Also, replaced attic ventilation fan.

It went great. Joseph was very professional, personable, and efficient. I will definitely be using him again for future electrical work. I was looking for a local, small business electrician with positive reviews and found him here on Angie's List. I called in the morning, texted him my address, and he came by the same evening. He quoted me $125 during that initial phone call, and that's what he charged me. I had noticed a strange rotten fish smell in the kitchen for 2 days. After making sure it wasn't the sink, garbage disposal, fridge, or even the dog (who we even took to the vet, poor pup!), I googled "fishy smell in kitchen" and found a few forums on the topic. Several comments suggested the fishy smell could be fumes released from burning plastic as in from an electrical outlet or a light fixture. I narrowed down the smell to 1 outlet in the kitchen. Joseph confirmed that this outlet was the source of the smell, and more importantly, that the loose wire in the outlet was a very serious fire risk. Had we not been home and investigated it, we could very well have ended up with a house fire. Joseph quickly and efficiently replaced the outlet and showed me the damage to the original. The loose wire had been smoldering enough to melt the wire cover, the plastic frame of the outlet, and the plastic child safety plug. He also checked and tightened about 10 other outlets in the rooms closest to the kitchen. He also kindly helped remove 2 broken bulbs from the vanity light fixture in the master bath and gave me suggestions on which bulbs to use and where to buy them at a reduced cost. I am so appreciative of his responsiveness and will definitely use him again. Thank you for saving me from the dangers of an inevitable house fire!!
Description of Work: Emergency same-day electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Joseph replaced an outlet that had loose wiring and was melting the surrounding plastic. His repairs prevented a house fire.

Mr Nasr responded quickly to my request for quotation and provided reasonable bid which we accepted. We then set up a date to perform the work in approximately 3 weeks. I called the day before to verify his work and he assured me that we were all set for the job, He arrived with 2 workers who were professional and friendly. They proceeded to remove my old service materials and install the new cabling, They performed their job in a very workmanlike manner, had the proper equipment for the task at hand and cleaned up after they were finished. Their work passed city inspections without a hitch. I heartily recommend them based on this work for us.

We spread the job over a few visits because my schedule made it very difficult to get the work finished in a single visit. Joseph was very good about working around my schedule. The technicians were very professional, unintrusive and pleasant. They cleaned up after themselves. I thought the price was reasonable as I had received similar estimates for just a panel replacement, not upgrade. The panel and fixtures work great. Overall, I was very pleased with the services and will use Nasr Electric again.

My contractor did not want me to upgrade panel prior to construction of our addition so I did not use Nasr. He was very informative and the price was right though. I will not hesitate using Nasr in the future.
