Description of Work: It went poorly. The electrician had trouble putting a wall mounted light in and then tried to charge me double the Angie's List price for the service. Sean, the owner, called me a couple days later and told me I owned them more money. I never would have used them had I known the price was going to be ridiculous! Honestly, I would have had my next door neighbor put it in for free!

Just got off the phone with our valued customer regarding this, and we discussed how hard we all worked on this job, including the property owners, wonderful daughters, working several days above and beyond, on all aspects of the job, paper work and permitting, power company scheduling, accommodating the inspectors and your mother, working until 10:00 pm on the day we did the panel to restore power for your panel and make sure it was up and running for your mother. This was not an easy job, and we feel the review obscures this and our valued customer agrees. We are working together to achieve their complete satisfaction and we hope we will be considered their family electrician in the future.

Description of Work: They came out to figure out an electrical issue with a light switch in my very old (1921) home. He also replaced a light fixture. The light fixture went fine, but he spent a ton of time only to tell me he could not fix the light switch. In fact he told me I would need a master electrician to do the work. He left the light switch area a mess and lost one of the screws ( which I only noticed after he left). It seemed like a lot of money to spend to still have the same problem when all was said and done.

Description of Work: Replaced interior and exterior GFI. I felt the pricing was really fair. Had two techs come out and both were professional and worked quickly and explained the work. I was happy with their results as well. Living in northern VA, the market is full of companies who feel they can charge outrageous amounts for their services due to the belief that folks have disposable income and will pay for convienence. Murphy Electric is not one of them. They are not the cheapest I am sure but they are fair and do great work. That is hard to find around here these days. I will recommend this company and will use in the future.

This is a good example of how we are more than ready to make the extra effort to achieve customer satisfaction. We came out the first time and the customer wanted to make adjustments after we had completed the work. We came back to make these adjustments for her according to her specifications. We got caught up on the previous job which is why we received a C for punctuality here, however, customers need to be aware that if you are scheduled for the second or third job of the day, your job will depend on the previous jobs, traffic and weather. Sometimes, if time is a concern it is best to schedule for the first job. We appreciate your business and working with us, and hope to do your next project soon.
