I moved into my house about a year ago. The home had only one bathroom and a very closed-in kitchen. I had a small unfinished room off the master bedroom that I wanted converted to a bathroom. I contacted Mir from Monova to provide a quote for building a bathroom and updating my kitchen, and I am so glad I did. Mir was the ultimate professional. He showed up on time and provided a very reasonable quote. Jose, the job supervisor, was fantastic. He and his crew worked so hard (and fast!). The tile work is especially outstanding. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Monova. They are truly the best contractors I’ve ever had and I’ve remodeled three homes! I have recommended Monova to several of my friends because, as anyone who lives in Northern Virginia knows, it is very difficult to find a contractor at a reasonable price and one that you can count on to do a fantastic job!

It seemed like the project manager Mir was responsive initially - until he got the job. After that not nearly as accommodating until it was time for payment. I’ve been waiting since July for Monova to fix the remaining issues and they still keep blowing us off three months later. The work was supposed to be guaranteed for a year!! At first glance the bathrooms look good but if you look closer you will note that they put the baseboard in the master bath in before installing the vanity. This meant that they had to cut a whole in the wall to make the vanity fit. They would not have fixed the wall until my husband called them on it. They didn’t paint behind the vanity so if you look underneath it you can see where they didn’t paint. The paint job itself was sub par. It took two tries to get the toilet to function properly and the sink in the powder room still doesn’t drain right. They recommended that we purchase special grout for our showers that can’t be cleaned using the typical bathroom cleaning products but they could not tell us how to actually clean the shower. It may not seem like a big deal but because of this, a white film now appears in my shower grout. I don’t know how to clean it and they won’t come back to fix it. Why recommend using a product without knowledge of how to actually care for it long term? Maybe they get up sale credit?? I did everything I could to avoid posting this negative review but I don’t want anyone else to be misled. I will reiterate that they guaranteed their work for a year but haven’t keep that commitment.

MONOVA Homes Rating: Solid Five Stars Short Version: Reasonably priced—best of three estimates—and properly licensed, bonded and insured / Work on my three-bathroom remodel began quickly after my contract was signed (September 28, 2018) / The foreman and crew worked quickly, politely, professionally, and intelligently on my job / Three bathrooms were finished on time (October 23, 2018) and on budget ($13,800 labor and materials) / the final result was nothing less than stunning / I would hire MONOVA Homes again, and I would enthusiastically recommend them to a friend or family member—or anyone reading this review. Please see before and after pictures. Long Version: Due to a family medical issue, I had a somewhat tight 3 month window to get three 1960s-era bathrooms, with all original fixtures (except the toilets which were replaced two years ago), upgraded and made handicap accessible. I had never had a remodel—clearly—until now. I used the Home Advisor web site, and I got 3 estimates. MONOVA Homes (MH) was the most reasonable. I went on-line (as you are doing now) and found MH had high ratings across several different ratings platforms. I saw they were local to my house (Fairfax, Virginia). Mir Aziz, the Project Manager, was helpful in thinking through my design ideas—in fact, the walk-in tub I ended up buying was his suggestion. Once work began, I was able to be home most, but not all, the time. I judge workers by this standard: Do they work as well and hard as I would if I were able to do the job myself. The foreman for my job, Ayala “Rocky” Roque, and his crew met that standard and then some! They worked efficiently, politely, and passionately, and to be honest, longer each day than I could have imagined. While I was rarely without water or at least one working bathroom during the entire project, the quick work meant I had access to my shower again in about 12 days. From start to finish, the job only took 25 days and was well within my 3-month window. The final project looks stunning and works flawlessly. Even after the final walk-through, when I could carefully scrutinize every detail, I could find no fault. I am going to attach some low resolution before and after photos of my MONOVA Homes remodel. Throughout our renovation project Jay and his team at Monova Homes were outstanding! The Monova team was very professional and responsive during every phase of the process and always addressed our questions or concerns. Overall we are very pleased with the results. We highly recommend Monova!

Monova Homes made suggestions concerning what needed to done and the restoration turned out to be more attractive than when the unit was new. In fact the condo was so good looking I decided to stop renting and keep it as a second home.

We could not be happier with the outstanding bathroom remodeling results that Monova Homes delivered for us. The workmanship was first class. Jay Wee delivered exactly what we wanted and worked with us throughout the project to ensure we were totally satisfied. Jay’s crew (Otto, Jose and Joshua) were highly skilled, punctual, and thorough. Monova is amazing! I knew that I wanted to get a quote from Monova Homes based off of their glowing 5 star reviews, but the experience I had with Monova met and exceeded everything I read in previous reviews. I contracted with Monova to turn a walk in closet into a master bathroom and expand the other set of master bedroom closets. Mir, my primary contact with Monova, was extremely responsive, never taking more than 2 hours to respond to a question I had (which is remarkable for contractors!), and was very knowledgeable and great to work with through the bathroom's design and renovation. I was very glad to be able to buy all of the finish materials (vanity, sink, hardware, tile, mirror, etc.) myself to make sure they were exactly what I wanted at the right prices. Jose, the lead foreman, and Selvin were absolutely a pleasure to work with to complete the bathroom project. Jose had so much previous experience and knew exactly what to recommend would look good and was able to work with me to achieve the look I desired, and I have never seen anyone work as fast as Selvin! They are an amazing team, very respectful of my home, and they cleaned up their work daily. It took them only 9 days to complete my project, which came in 3 days shorter than their original estimate and over a week shorter than other estimates I had- and they completely added new plumbing and electrical where it had never been! I was amazed and extremely happy during the entire process of working with Mir, Jose, and Selvin at Monova Homes. The quality of their work and the entire Monova experience was spectacular, and I love my new master bathroom and closets. I will certainly be returning to Monova for all of my home renovation projects and have already been recommending them to everyone I know!

We remodeled our master bathroom, and are so pleased with them! Jay, contractor, was so responsive, and easy to work with. His crew, Jose, and Otto were so neat and professional. They have your best interest at heart, and I cannot be happier with the final product! 5 stars in every way!

Monova was wonderful. So easy to work with, respectful of our home, punctual, quality work, great communication throughout. They measure and tell you what you need, and you buy the materials (they recommend local and on-line vendors and help you get discounts wherever possible). Would definitely recommend. I'll be using them for my kitchen sometime this year or next.

The contracting process was a great one and I would happily hire Monova to do future work in our townhouse. All the material estimates were on target and the project was completed on time and on budget.

I can't recommend Jay and the Monova team highly enough. They were able to start work ahead of schedule, finished on time and on budget, and made all the modifications we requested to the original plan with grace. They secured all necessary permits as well, and without a single delay to the work. They delivered an outstanding basement renovation to a quirky 1940s house at a cost lower than other bids - we could not be happier. Highly recommend!

They were very responsive throughout the entire process, and their attention to detail really gave me confidence that we were on the same page in terms of design and price. The end result turned out even better than I expected and I am so thrilled with my new bathroom and the new closet layout. The owner responded to every question and followed up on any concerns I had during the whole process. I felt very comfortable reaching out and was confident they would follow through. The new bathroom is gorgeous and spacious and I still have plenty of room in the closet for all my clothes and shoes. Fantastic. The Monova Team were prompt in both contacting me and in submitting their proposal. Some contractors would not even entertain quoting me if the job seemed under $15k. Monova submitted a very reasonable quote and were able to start the job within 1.5 months. The whole step of the way the project lead made sure to ask me questions and get my opinion on many of the little things that would have otherwise been addressed without my input. The result was a well built and impressive new custom bathroom that will surely add value to my home, not to mention give my wife and I lots of satisfaction over what existed prior to the work.

Jay and his Monova crew showed up everyday and made great progress. I especially liked that Jay took photos and texted me if he ever needed to clarify my expectations. Jay updated me on each day's progress and laid out the plans for the next day. I would definitely use Monova again.

Jay was very professional and determined to get the job done on time. He was informative on where to purchase our supplies. His team was also professional and great. Jay walked us through on how the job was going to be preformed. The end result turned out more than we had hoped for. We now have a kitchen that is functional and looking amazing!

It was pretty simple. The most difficult part was purchasing building materials myself and that wasn't difficult. Actually I liked this because I went out and saw what I wanted first hand and purchased it as opposed to using various websites. Monova was on time everyday and they were very professional. They also ensured that they cleaned up behind themselves. They have excellent project management and they finished on time. The only delay was due to my carpet supplier but that did not set the project back. They made sure they made use of all available time. One day the electrician, HVAC, and carpenter were all here at the same time and the worked in the same space seamlessly. The work is high quality work. Monova has excellent tradesmen. Thoroughly pleased with the work.

My master bathroom was original to my 1967 colonial and needed a total redo. The previous owner installed a single sink outside the bathroom which was like having the sink in my bedroom. Jay ripped out the old tub, tile in tub and on walls, and sink in my bedroom (Total gut). They built a new wall to move the bathroom doorway and doubled the size of my bathroom. They converted my tub to a glass enclosed shower with a nook and updated my single sink to a double sink. It is now beautiful. Jay kept us informed every step of the way and any problems they found were quickly resolved to our satisfaction. Edgar and Oscar did an amazing job and asked me questions along the way to make sure the result was exactly like we wanted it. I will be hiring them again for future projects.

The crew arrived on time, work conducted in timely manner. And Jay was always available to help troubleshoot a couple areas. I really like the custom approach to their work...they measure the project then provide me with a shopping list along with names of their vendors, therefore you fully control the budget except for the construction cost already provided. In my case, I put money into nicer fixtures and the vanity, and average cost on tiles. Very happy with the overall project. I've gotten so many compliments on the project. This is the second bathroom I used Monova for, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The owner, Jay Wee, did a great job of managing the renovation of our kitchen and first floor bathroom. We lived in the house during the massive renovation, and he and his workers were always respectful of that. They cleaned up at the end of the day, and amazingly, kept the water running and the electricity on most of the time! Often times I would email or text Jay Wee at 11:00 at night - while I was thinking about something - not expecting an answer until the next day. Most of the time I would get an answer almost immediately. I was a newbie in the world of home renovation, and he was very patient with me and my lack of knowledge. We live in a home built in 1968, and with that always come lots of surprises when you tear down walls. The surprises can usually end up costing the homeowner a lot of money. Jay always made sure that the "surprises" cost us a minimum amount, or, in many of the cases, cost us nothing. He always made sure that we were satisfied with the changes that had to be made after the surprises. Some of the surprises included a hidden drain in the kitchen, pipes where they shouldn't have been in the bathroom, and the bathroom drain not up to code. The kitchen renovation opened up the space beautifully, and has made the first floor an open, welcoming area to gather. The bathroom is absolutely gorgeous, and the workers did a great job with all of the tile involved in the metamorphosis from a full bath with a tub to one with a shower. Many people have not only commented on the beauty of the bathroom renovation, but have all said that it looks like a REALLY expensive renovation! I am very happy with the work from Jay Wee and Monova Construction, and would highly recommend them!

The original pricing and negotiation was easy to conduct, price was reasonable, the work was good. I am happy and pleased with the way the basement and bathroom renovation turned out. I purchased most of the material, but Monova provided the building materials. The work took two weeks to complete and they cleaned after completion of the project. I will not hesitate to use Monova again and will for my future projects and I recommend them to others as well.

I think their pricing is good. Their responsiveness is not good. I'm doubtful if I would ever use them again.

Monova did an exceptional job. The employees were punctual and very clean. Putting down drop cloths & cleaning up every night. They stayed one evening until 8 pm. They kept me involved in every decision along the way. Always asking my opinion & making suggestions. The men were extremely polite. We are very happy with this job & will use them again. I have already recommended them to a few of my neighbors. It's difficult to find good quality work in No. VA. Cesar & his men are head and shoulders above any other contractor I've worked with. They will be my go to contractor for any future projects. Jay, he's a nice guy too! Just kidding, you know you are getting good quality work at a reasonable price with Jay. His pricing is very fair. He stayed on top of the job every step of the way checking in with me several times. Quality workmanship and customer service exceeded our expectations.
