On the day of the estimate Bob called me after already being 20 minutes late to let me know he was held up on the road and was en route. Punctuality is very important to me. I know things happen but I would have appreciated a call closer to my appointment time. Bob arrived and we went through the house looking at the various items and their locations. Saying things like "this could be a problem" or an issue we have here is" are negative enough to question his company?s abilities. He never really came out and said anything during this time that gave me the feeling he was capable to do this. Nor did he ever mention other repiping jobs he's done making me feel even more unsure. After the walk through my wife had a few questions to clarify the process and expectation level of the work to be done. During this time Bob received a phone call, which he immediately took without so much as an Excuse Me. Why take a call during a business meeting. Etiquette classes anyone? Bob immediately changed attitude towards whomever was on the line, I was thinking a current or past client, and became very aggressive and loud. Even threatening lawsuits and lawyers to the individual. At this point I decided that I was not going to do business with Bob. How can I trust that any difference of opinion or issue I have would not be handled in the same manner. This call went on for about 3 minutes before Bob realized maybe he should take it outside. In the meantime my wife and I were extremely uncomfortable and trying to figure out how to get him to leave. Thankfully we were able to leave this situation simply with me thanking him for coming and him saying he would email me the quote quickly. I did receive my quote as promised via email the next day. Not until after receiving my reply back did Bob even acknowledge the phone call and only then did an apology with explanation come forth. His price was nearly double from 2 other quotes I've received as well, with less warranty and work being offered. I am old school I suppose and first impressions make a world of difference to me. I never felt that Bob was there to take care of us and give us a good level of service. I feel that because of Bob?s first impression with me I would never work with him or recommend his services to anyone.
Description of Work: I had called Mister Renovator (Bob Sheldon) in Great Falls, VA for a plumbing repipe estimate in my townhouse. I wished to replace all the existing polybutylene with CPVC or copper pipe. I found Mister Renovator from an on-line link associated with the PB class action suite from a few years back. I called and spoke with Bob Sheldon, owner, and set up a time to meet at my house for an estimate. We talked briefly about the work I was looking to have done, the number of baths, fixtures etc. I gave my contact info with email address, for the quote to be sent to as well, and setup the estimate for the following day.
