He did a good job and it was Mill To You Fences. The guy was good, it was a fair price and did a nice job. I spoke with the guy who owns the place. He is the one who gave me the quote. I called him up and he answered the phone directly. He gave me a quote over the phone without actually seeing the fence but he gave an average price I guess, we can do that for about 900 dollars or 950. He originally quoted fine but when he took a look at it he said he'd rather do it here and he kept it at the same price. He sent 2 guys out and they built the fence and cleaned up the whole thing. When he came the next day, he inspected their work and then asked me if I was satisfied and only at that point he accepted the payment. He didn't demand a payment or deposit upfront. That was an okay price, that was a fair price. The quality was good, it was very good. I was very pleased. I actually called him about a month ago to say that there was an issue at one place and I couldn't get the gate to open. He came out and took care of it. They were on time. I definitely will use them again in the future.

Barry Potter is the owner of Mill to You Fences and was referred by Angie's List a few years ago for the upkeep of my fence. He is very professional and has returned for other projects since your first referral. I am very much pleased with his work and manner.

Mill To You created the custom boards to match our existing fence so we could complete our repainting project in time. It's such a relief to know that there's a company that can do custom work so we didn't have to resort to having boards of differing sizes or style in our fence as the bulk of the fence was in good shape. They saved the day. Barry was very very responsive on the phone. We will definitely consider them once it's time to replace the fence that we just had repaired and painted.

Great interaction throughout. Very friendly and when we scheduled the service, the team arrived promptly and worked quickly and professionally and in no time, it was done. It is very solid, matches the existing fence perfectly. We did find a nail on our patio the next day, but otherwise the cleanup was good.

I've used them for 25 years. There was nothing wrong with the fence but I wanted it to but higher so I would have additional privacy. He came and added a piece to it and it looked good. I spent $850.

Went great - called the day before and asked if they could come before my scheluded date which was fine. I had not yet finished removing the debris (tree branches) from that area. The crew was on time and they removed all of the debris that was in the area and did a great job. Love my fence. Will be calling them back next year to complete my other side.

Mr. Potter was great to work with initially, and I really wanted him to build my fence. After meeting with him and getting an initial quote to fence in our backyard, I was very confident he would do an excellent job, and his price quote was very competitive. After those initial meetings, I decided I needed to consult a few other contractors (landscapers, builders, etc) because there were a number of moving parts to my project and I wanted to put together a master plan to sequence the different work. Mr. Potter encouraged me to do that, and I appreciated his patience. It took about a year to get to the point where we were ready to finalize plans for the fence, and I got back in touch with Mr. Potter. He missed an initial appointment, but apologized for that, so I didn't worry about it, and we met to go over the project. Then, right when we were to ready to go forward - sign a contract, pay a deposit, pull permits, whatever - he completely dropped out of contact. I never heard from him again after his last email to me, promising to get back to me soon with final numbers. After that, he ignored multiple polite emails and calls over the course of several weeks. It was strange - I've had contractors not get back to me, but his disappearance was so sudden and unexpected that I was worried something had happened to him. (I'm actually a little relieved to see reviews on here indicating that he is healthy and still working!) Bottom line was that we had to scramble to start from scratch and find a new fencing contractor. Our eventual contractor did a fine job with the project (see separate review), but Mr. Potter's disappearing act cost us money, time, and stress. Wish it had worked out better.

The two projects went well. Mr. Barry Potter arrived at my home shortly after being contacted, assessed my front and back yard areas and provided a cost estimate before leaving. Barry sent me an email the next day outlining what was discussed an the price for the job. I agreed via email and the plan was set in motion. Very easy process. Barry was able to start the project within a day or two as he had the materials for the cedar fence at his mill in Arlington, however, due to inclement weather, work was delayed for about a week. Due the weather delay, I changed the design by extending the fence all the way to the alley instead of stopping at 2/3 of the yard. In addition, I added a double door gate with a key lock and asked for six inch caps at the top of the fence to give it a more formal look. Barry returned a day or two later to take additional measurements and provided a revised cost estimate. Final estimate for the backyard was $6,600 and the front iron fence was $3200. $9,800 is a lot of money but I went all out on the design for the backyard fence but the backyard is large and it will be the main entertaining area so it had to be perfect. Barry's crew was awesome. They completed the back fence in two days. There was one issue where my outdoor AC unit was in the way of completing a small portion of the fence next to my house. Barry recommended an HVAC contractor that could relocate the unit to the opposite side of the house. The contractor came the next day and gave an estimate of $700 then completed the work the following day...while it was snowing! Barry's crew returned a few days later finish the back fence and another crew installed the front iron fence. Barry came to visit several times throughout the projects to ensure everything was meeting my expectations. I am very pleased with the work performed and my neighbors all love the new fence.

Barry was very responsive to our questions and needs. I was a little surprised that we did not have a formal contract, but Barry did exactly what we wanted and only asked for us to pay him upon completion.

My wife and I couldn't be happier having selected Mill-To-You for our fence project. This was our first major expense on our first home and we are thrilled. Barry, the manager, came out to our house on time and gave a detailed no-pressure estimate. He pointed out positives and shortcomings of neighbors fences and provided options and recommendations. There was no pressure or any up-selling. We explained to Barry that we may have we may have a few weeks to get the money in order, which was no problem. We had a few other fence providers give estimates and while Mill-To-You wasn't the lowest, they weren't exceptionally higher than anyone else, so we decided to go with them. We scheduled a few weeks out and Barry and crew showed up right on time. We quickly went over the plan and the crew started work. During the day Barry shot over an e-mail stating that he thought it would be better to use the (more expensive) cedar on the front gates for less gapping over time and offered the upgrade at no additional cost--extremely kind. The team finished up early on the second day and the fence was absolutely perfect and the yard was spotless! You can tell the quality and effort they put into their work. My wife and I were thrilled at how good it looked. Barry kindly stopped by the following day to ensure we were happy and no issues arose. We asked if the company did deck work, which they do, and immediately hired them for a deck ramp and gate. Unsurprisingly, the deck ramp and gate far surpassed our expectations as well! The work was extremely solid and blended in perfectly with our existing deck. We couldn't be more happy having selected Mill-To-You for our fence and deck projects!

Appeared to be attentive and professional; started project on time and kept to schedule; issues began to develop after project well under way (i.e. added in cost for shrub removal at higher level than originally quoted, fence line was raised above agreed upon flush to the ground spacing, leaving a large gap that would allow small pets to leave yard; remedy to recitify the fence gap was to add a "chciken wire" attachment to one fence side...not a clean job). The worst was that minimal charge to assemble a children's playset...Barry was shown the playset choices from Home Depot and stated his crew could assemble it with no problem. Playset was purchased for a little under $1000; his crew took 3 days (company said could be assembled in 8-12 hours MAXIMUM)..was charged $1000 for the assembly...the two-man crew could not read the instructions, didn't seem to know what they were doing and were working on the set for that time period...actually were installing fence in the neighbor's yard. Aside from the issue with the fence gap and then the overcharge to assemble the playset, the job was well-done.

Mill To You Fencing company and owner, Barry Potter provide the most incredible service and superior fence design and installation. We could not imagine a better experience. The company installed our metal pool fencing in late 2013. Our fence materials is of superior quality to our abutting neighbor's who tried to match our fence. Deer come through from time to time and our fence holds up to their force. Our neighbor's fence easily bends and requires posts to be replaced. Not only did Barry and his smart team install our fence so well but they have been back to remove and replace sections as we've needed large equipment to enter our backyard. One such occasion was just two weeks ago, amidst the snow storm. We lost our well and the pump truck had to get into the backyard. I called Barry's cell phone and not only did he answer but he said he'd arrive within the hour. Now the well company could have removed the fence but they couldn't promise they wouldn't damage it. Barry's team made short work of it and then came back out as soon as we could re-install it. This was important as we have pets that enjoy the freedom of our yard and we wish to keep them safe from the street. The reason the charge was $750 was because this not only covered the cost to remove and re-install this time but also last fall when some additional work needed to be done on our pool. He has waited all this time to bill us so that is four trips to our home and fencing work and you'd never know it was ever moved. He also takes the time to adjust to make sure the gate works perfectly.

Barry, the owner, was exceptional and a real pleasure to work with. He really takes pride in the product, which I find not as common as it should be. The result was a beautiful, professional, fence that will last years-far beyond those run-of-the-mill pine sectional fences that my neighbors have and, after only a few years, are all warped and faded.

In an out in one day....great job getting fencing installed along property line

Ok, so i notice my fence door not shutting completely. The door would not close easily as the top of the door would hit the fence post when i tried to shut it. i had to life up the fence door on the side with the handle in order to get it past the fence post to latch shut. I discovered the pin hinge on the bottom bracket did not go all the way through the hinge eye of the hinge attached to the fence post. It made the door lean away to one side and the top of the door hit the opposite fence post. I tried getting the pin all the way through the eyelet but no success. Ended up the door was completely detached. Contacted Barry asking if he would take a look. He came out while we were at church and said he re attached the door. And he said there would be no charge. I was like, "Dude, what customer service." He did mention that the door hinges would need to reposition to get it all working correctly I said sure, how much.. he quote me $150 and I agreed. Unbeknownst to me, the original contractors who installed the door and who I called months ago to come fix it showed up out of the blue while my wife was home and fixed the door and fixed the hinges so they worked correctly. I told Barry and he said no problem. Great service.

I contacted this company on Friday November 14,2014 to give me an estimate on a fence repair/ replacement. The man that I spoke with told me he did not know his exact schedule for the weekend but he would call me Saturday am and let me know if he would come out on Saturday or Sunday. I never received a return call. NO CALL/NO SHOW.

We needed just one side of our yard and two gates installed so it was a smaller job. We had 2 other contractors show up but never even give us a quote. On the other hand, Barry was always very responsive and gave us a quote on the spot. When they showed up to do the work, they were on time and put up the fence and gates very quickly. They also did a great job matching my existing fencing. My neighbor (a contractor flipping the house next door) was so impressed that he hired them to fence his yard.

Barry is a very friendly, informative, and practical person to converse with and I was glad to find him on Angie's List. A tree damaged part of my chain link fence and Barry took the time to talk through the situation with me and what my best options were for resolution. I purchased the parts from him, very reasonable pricing, and will keep Mill To You's number handy for any future fencing needs. I have already referred them to friends who will be doing fence work in the future.

It was SUCH a pleasure working with this company! I called the number at 2pm to see if they could help me out. The gentleman answering the phone said that he had guys in the area that could be here around 3pm. They showed up at 3:06pm and fixed the problem without complication in about 5 minutes. They were all extremely professional, punctual, and friendly. I would work with this company again any time in the future!

. Fabulous! I first contacted Barry at the end of June. The installation took just one day, and the project was completed on Aug. 2. Barry went out to get some additional supplies at the nearby hardware store and returned with a box of bakery fresh muffins for his men, and brought some back for us, too! Great guy, great job!

He is very good. He came back and did maintenance on my fence. He is professional and shows up when he says he will be here. He follows through. He did what was expected.
