They were quick to respond to my service request, but the quote that they gave me was OUTRAGEUOS. From what I could tell, they quality of there work is probably good, but they are not wallet-friendly, and they will automatically recommend the most expensive option, without exploring alternatives.

They arrived on time, were very courteous and were able to fix the problem. We also asked for quotes for an attic fan and ceiling fan. We received an email with the estimated labor/parts to perform both of these projects (for future consideration). They also emailed a photo of the technician to me so I could see what he looked like (to make sure the right guy was performing the job). Very happy with the service and their recommendations!

The service went well overall. My concerns at first was, that I did not need every service that was recommended. So I call Michael and sons for a breakdown why each service was needed. The company was very helpful in explaining why these services were needed. The customer relations manager call the tech who performed the work and had him explain to me again what he did and why it was needed. I thought that was nice of him because I was not completely happy with the work at first. But after talking with the tech again, I was sure that the work that was perform was indeed needed and necessary for preventive maintenance. The technician and the customer relations manager wanted me to completely understand these services and they did an excellent job in explaining it to me. Thanks to the tech Lynwood for being extremely patience with me for answering all of my questions to my satisfaction. I would use Michael and sons services again. If you don't completely understand any service with the company just call and they will try their best to resolved your issues and concerns.

Very good work, very clean. They recommended additional services to consider that were worth thinking about, without being pushy.

after contacting 3 different providers, i decided to go with michael and sons. they came out, reviewed the situation as to why my air condition was not working and decided that i needed to replace the whole unit. the unit that i had was made by a company that had gone out of business and it was hard to get replacement parts for it. they gave me options to replace the unit or to get a combination deal and replace the heating and air systems. my house was old and needed a total electrical overhaul in order to handle the new units. they did all of the work the same day and cleaned up all of the debri and hauled it away. they scheduled the city to come out and do an inspection for the upgrade to the electrical system. everything passed with flying colors and i was totally please with their service. i wasn't anticipating spending that much money but in the end it was well worth it. they have since came out to inspect the unit and everything was fine. big thanks to the company.

Dave came out & was prompt & professional & fixed all of our issues. The next day I noticed a leak in the bathroom below the one Dave had gotten back into service. I panicked & called MIcheal & Son @ 8 pm, & the operator assured me that the problem would be resolved that evening. I was impressed that they answered calls late & handled my "Argh, there is water everywhere" call so calmly. Dave came back out, & upon scoping inside the wall, discovered that this was an old problem with a pipe that had fallen apart at the joint inside the wall. It was not his fault, but he was gracious, explained the problem, showed me the pipe after opening up the wall, & fixed the pipe & supported it by a strap so the leak couldn't happen again, ever. All, in all, I'm very pleased by the work & the fact that Dave was so pleasant after being called back for a problem that was not of his making. His colleague Johnny came out to double check the situation, make sure that no problems were a result of the original work (they weren't, the house is just old & needs a lot of love), & was also friendly & professional. I was quite impressed that they cared enough to have a second pair of eyes quality-checking the work...a water leak is no joke & they took it seriously. Micheal & Son is a bit pricey, but they do good work & beyond that, provided great service. I'd rather spend money than waste time, & when you have a problem beyond normal business hours, these guys take care of you.

It went well, the tech pointed out that things where installed incorrectly (humidifier) and wouldn't work properly as designed. He informed me that everything was good to go, and that my system was in great condition.

I felt that the price was steep considering it did not include a warranty or the video taping in the price. I may use them again depending on the price they quote me. They did email me a quote with a list of the price of the different things.

Prompt and professional but way overpriced.

I tried to get a same-day water heater replacement through Home Depot, which advertises (without caveats) that water heaters can be replaced same-day if requested by Noon. Apparently, Michael & Sons is the primary provider of Home Depot water heater services in my area. But Michael & Sons has only ONE worker who can install a gas water heater -- as though they are somehow rare in my neighborhood or city. A miss-scheduling that was partly my fault was a blessing in disguise. Because when Michael & Sons actually arrived, they estimated the 50-gallon water heater to be $1,995.00 installed. RIDICULOUS! An hour later, I had an excellent water heater installed by BGE Home for $968. Over $1,000 savings by staying away from this price-gauging company. Call BGE Home!

On April 12th, M&S connected my reserve hot water tank. I realized almost immediately that I could not get hot water. Prior to the second tank being connected I had very hot water. I called the plumber who performed the work. He claimed the filament in the newly connected tank needed to be turned up. A few days later, he came out and performed this function. Still no hot water. I left a couple of messages for the plumber on his voicemail. I didn't reach him directly. A few days later another M&S plumber came out and said the second tank was not "tapped in" efficiently. The original plumber had connected the hot water line on the first tank to the cold water line on the reserve tank. This second plumber claimed this was the reason I was not getting hot water. I also spoke to a customer service representative at Michael and Son named Michael Lewis. Michael Lewis promised me that the company would make this right and set an appointment to have the tanks reconnected. He also vowed to provide reimbursement. He scheduled the original plumber and another to come out on May 3rd to reconnect the tanks. The original plumber who connected the tanks came out, along with a third M&S plumber. For the first time I was told that the two tanks would not give me the amount of hot water I was seeking. The third plumber, who had not been to my home before and seemed competent, suggested that I needed a different solution for my needs. The original plumber continued to claim that reconnecting the tanks would resolve my hot water problem. So, the plumbers reconnected the tanks so that my hot water flow would be more "efficient" between the two tanks. It did not work. When they left my home, I did not have hot water. They told me I would hear from them or Michael Lewis by the end of the day with a plan of action. I never heard from them again or Michael Lewis. The next day, Saturday I had a conversation with yet another representative at Michael and Son who said the company was going to resolve my issue and be there on Monday. He suggested a time for me that I was not available. I left a message asking that a representative come out at 8:00 a.m. monday. No one came. After waiting, I called the company to say I would be taking legal action. I then spoke to Vance Shepard. He represented that he was who wished to get to the bottom of my concern and resolve my issue. He seemed legitimate in his concern. I initially informed him that I would be taking action. I had lost faith in the brand and missed hours of work on multiple occasions at this point I also had not had hot water for more than 3 weeks. I later told him I would consider allowing the company to come out one more time and informed him that, based on my research, the tanks were STILL not properly connected. I forwarded him what I thought was the proper configuration of the tanks. I later informed him that I would give the company one last chance to get this right. He told me he would get back to me today. I called him, after not hearing from him in the am, leaving a message. I have not heard from him or anyone at M&S, it is the end of the day. M&S did not keep its word to me, but I will keep mine to them. I have contacted Angie's List, arranged for another plumber to come out later this week and am preparing a complaint against the company to be filed shortly. I believe Shepard is a legitimate representative, and probably the only person I spoke to who seemed to care about the Company's reputation, but I heard from him a month after the problem started and he too has not followed up today as promised.

Overall, we are happy Michael and Sons customers. In addition, for comparable AC units offered by other companies, Michael and Sons cost was several thousand dollars less which sealed the deal.

Michael & Son's was on time and the two contractors were very friendly and professional. I have no problem with the service or the actual work, but $902.00 for 3 less than three hours of time and material was way too much. The contractor was able to give me a coupoun for $50 off which was great, but it was still way too expensive. They installed two new light switches, and two new electrical sockets. All of which cost under $100 at any local hardware store. They did give me this price before doing the work, so it was not like they tricked me. But given my tight deadline for this project I was in a crunch and needed to have the work done. I wish I had waited or called someone else who would have been much more affordable. I wont be calling Michael and Son's anytime soon.

Price I feel was way too high for the service provided. He originally was going to charge us $460 but when we complained about cost, he gave us a 10% discount... Was there all of 15 min and was in my opinion a simple repair. Felt very ripped off and have never used them since. On a positive note, the guy was professional, punctual and got the job done right. Just charged way too much.

What stood out is their efficiency, knowledge and just general service and their professional growth. The charge depends on how extensive you want your generator to cover your house. That stuff is a big expense but it can be a small expensive order but they can coach you through all that. I recommend them highly.

Heard this company cost more, but close to other bids. They were able to come the same day and do the work on the same day. I was given other tips and additional work and I would seriously take their recommendation under advisement. All in all, very please with punctuality, quote, work, and professionalism.

My first contact with them was to get an estimate for hooking up the attic fan. I was promptly contacted to schedule an appointment. The dispatcher was courteous and very helpful, setting a schedule that was very accommodating. The technician, Jose Gonzales arrived earlier than originally scheduled, but he did call about 30 minutes in advance of his arrival to ensure it was ok. He was professional, courteous, and friendly. He laid out a company floor mat and put covers over his shoes before entering the house without being asked. A practice most appreciated because there are times you have to ask the technician to cover or remove their shoes. Jose surveyed the area and gave me a estimate and asked if I would want a light installed as well, for which he also provided an estimate. I also asked for an estimate to install some security lighting. He surveyed the areas, which took him outside, so he automatically removed the covers from his shoes and upon entering he once again covered his shoes. After doing a little more research and discussing with my wife, we decided to hire Michael and Son. We found the estimates somewhat higher than others, but Jose impressed me as a knowledgeable, as well as professional technician. I felt comfortable having Michael and Son do the job. We only had the attic fan done this time to use as a measuring stick for future projects. An appointment was scheduled for the work to be done 2 days later, again a very accommodating appointment. This dispatcher, like the previous was courteous and very friendly. Mr. Gonzales again arrived earlier than previously scheduled, but again called me in advance. His demeanor hadn't changed (i.e., professional, courteous, and friendly). As I expected he did an excellent job and completed it in a very reasonable amount of time. If we decide to have the other projects done, Michael and Son will be among the top of the list for consideration.

They were terrible. They do plumbing and electrical. I had them out one time to do the heating inspection and they did a terrible job. He was here for 15 minutes and said that everything was working fine. He did not change the light bulb on my light thing. They did not check my humidifier, except to say it was working. They did not go outside and check the levels of my Freon on my air conditioner. They just made sure that everything was working okay, that was their idea of an inspection. I felt very insecure after they left. They told me that they no longer made the rubber thing in my toilet and I had to have a new toilet. I told him he was out of his mind. He told me that they do not make replacement parts for toilets anymore. I was so disgusted with the amount I had to pay for the yearly guarantee to do all this work and it is totally false. The price I paid included all plumbing, electrical and heating. They never want to come out, unless they are going to replace something. The last time they came out, they told me that I needed to redo all of the electrical in my house. When they did what was required of them, they were very good quality. They do respond fast, they think they are about to make a sale, they think. They do show up when they say they are going to show up with a great deal of energy.

Michael & Sons did a fantastic job. Technician called prior to coming out and was on time. He explained everything that he was going over and answered all our questions. He did not make unnecessary recommendation to gain additional business. He followed a checklist on his tablet and gave us a detailed report of our HVAC unit. The technician was considerate of our home and wore protective cloth around his shoes to prevent getting any dirt on our floors. I plan to use Michael & Sons as my preferred HVAC service provider moving forward.

It was a lengty process taking about 5 hours. The repair person was unobtrusive, but kept us informed of his progress along the way.

Contractor was very pushy and insisted it was $900 just to install a small 6" elbow. We were in the middle of selling house so I unfortunately agreed. Come to find out later that the contractors for M&S are pressured to "upsell" customers at every opportunity. Avoid at all costs,

The technician was unable to get to us until the evening and he kept me posted during the day that he was delayed. I had an issue because the technician took a look and said he could not snake out the sink because he was afraid the snake would get caught. He gave us a quote on removing the whole sink instead. He then sold us a natural substance that would clear out our drain and that was all he could do for us that night. The substance only clogged things worse. We thought for a few days what we should do. We called them and asked for them to send someone else out. Caesar came out and looked at the situation and told us they can snake the drain. They snaked the drain and it took care of the problem. I recall Caesar saying to me 'are you happy now'? I am not happy with the way things happened. But I was happy that they cleared my drain. The guy that was here the first time was nice and we were very appreciative that he was working a long day the day before Thanksgiving but, he did not do the job that needed to be done and implied that it could not be done. We have used Michael and Son before this but I'm not sure I will go back to them.
