The repairman was on time and finished the work quickly.

I appreciate the quick response since my basement was flooded. As I have discovered with other work they have performed, they are very expensive. I didn't appreciate the fact that they said it is not covered under my purchased home maintenance plan which I was convinced to purchase in order to lower the very expensive $2400 charge for replacing my water heater. They are trying to get me to renew service contract but it has not been very useful. I was told once initial appliances are inspected then they would be covered under warranty. Really just an opportunity to come in to "find" issues since they come several times for different systems (plumbing, electrical, etc.). Inspection of my A/C unit almost hinges on fraud. Details warrant another review but basically said I needed a new system for $6K - 9K because "it might not last through the end of the week." Never had problems and continued to cool perfectly entire summer.

Toilet was installed for over $400- with a $75 off coupon. Just ridiculously expensive for a standard toilet. Sink leak was repaired but nw sink drains very slowly.

Technician was excellent. Friendly, communicative and obviously very knowledgeable. Took the time to explain each step of the work and instruct for the future. Did not try to sell or push filter but replaced at my request. Professional in every sense. The office staff seems to be slipping a bit in its efficiency. For the second straight time forgot to ask for scheduled time (when I called I was informed that they had me scheduled for the 18th but never asked or alerted me. Last spring they neglected to alert me at yearly contract time and fortunately I initiated that. I do like Michael and Son and have used them now for roughly two years with the utmost of satisfaction. The current slippage in communication I'm sure can and hopefully will be corrected in the future. It may seem a minor matter but part of the reason that I have been heartedly recommending them to others has been that "caring" communication. I left a previous hvac contractor because of their lackadaisical front office mentality and worry that these slippages, admittedly small, may be a sign of over extension. But an unquestioned "A" to their overall work.

The repairs were very good. We haven't had any issues. They are pricey.

I hired Michael and Sons to install a new panel box to expand my service. They replaced my 30 breaker box with another 30 breaker box providing no additional slots. The work was horrible and they eventually sent out a new technician to add a second expansion box and fix all of the mistakes of the first technician. Since the work was completed I have discovered other incompetent work. 1. They wired my kitchen refrigerator to a garage GFCI so if the garage circuit trips my food spoils. 2. They wire my A/C compressor to two single pole breakers so only one break will trip and the other continues to feed 110 volt to the compressor. If you ever have them do electrical work ask if the technician is a licensed electrician. The first technician was not a licensed electrician just an employee working as an electrician.

Michael & Sons set up appointment with us within 24 hours. Plumber called us requesting to come to appointment earlier than scheduled appointment time which was OK with us. Plumber arrived on time for revised appointment time, placed a cover over my hardwood kitchen floor , removed damaged hose & faucet replacing them with newly purchased items. Plumber worked efficiently, was courteous & answered my questions.

There were 3 main problems trying to get the hot water heater installed. We were expecting guests so we were quite anxious to get this done.. 1. We bought the hot water heater through Home Depot and they arranged for the plumbers. However, that meant we had to go through a middle man for setting up the appointment - and other communication.. It took an extra day. Really bad idea! 2. The installation couldn't be done when they finally arrived because they found a small gas leak in the pipe feeding the existing hot water heater. They said they weren't qualified to fix the gas leak and that we had to deal with the Gas Co. 3. We called Washington Gas and they came right out and tightened the joints of the pipes - it took about 5 minutes to complete the work. When we finally got in touch with Michael and Sons to come back it was the middle of the afternoon. They refused to come back that day so we had to wait another day to get the repair finished.

He said that the positioning of the pipes was too narrow so it had to be replaced. I'm not a plumber so I had to take his word for it. I've had a lot of work done by them in the past, so they seem reliable

They were very professional with the service tech using booties and a outdoor rug. He checked to see if the leak would happen again. He inspected the system and then did a test by using a wet vac to dry out the catch pan and then turned on the hot water faucet to let the system run. He also inspected my other plumbing in both bathrooms, replacing the tub water stops. Indeed, the water leaked back into the pan. I was given an estimate for a new heater, however, it was double my most expensive previous estimates. Way out of range of the other estimates. Sorry, but as a furloughed Federal contractor, I cannot spend that much money on a new heater.

Unboxed, moved and worked on new kitchen appliances on new carpet which was ruined. Don't let these people near your place. I did get money for damages through Lowes which is the company I contracted with. Lowes hired Michael and Sons to install the appliances. They didn't even have the guts to point out the damage they did. I found it after they left. Michael and Sons will NEVER be allowed in my home again.

All work was done on a timely and professional manner. They gave good estimates and are able to track past service calls.

I changed maintenance providers to Michael & Sons and had them do a preventive maintenance on my HVAC system. I was told that I needed to replace my air conditioner and furnace and the total cost would be over $10,000! I live in a small 900 sq. ft. condo. I was appauled and contacted other service providers. I ended up getting a HVAC system for half the price quoted to me by Michael & Sons. They should be ashamed of themselves charging so much.

I have used a lot of different companies prior to Michael and Son but they are by far the best. Their prices are a little higher than some companies but the quality of their work was worth it.

Initially there was confusion over installation date and coordination with PEPCO. The company wanted to push installation out an additional two months but after a little discussion they installed and all went well. They were all very professional and the installation folks were fantastic. I have been very happy with the product.

Mike Aaron and Matt Groves performed the work. They used drop clothes and booties to keep our unit clean. The work was performed thoroughly and professionally, and they were great to work with. They even called in a chimney expert to help with the vent - since we are on the 4th floor and the vent is only accessible from a ladder. I would call them back for other service - and probably will.

We provided the plans for the new cabinet installation to the installers we gave them detailed instructions on where we wanted the wires for the lighting to come out of the wall so they would work with the cabinets. They installed the recessed lighting to close to the wall so that the new cabinets covered them. When we contacted them about the error the were willing to move the lights however they were unwilling to repair they damage done to the ceiling when they installed the lights incorrectly because they did not follow our instructions. In the end we paid for all the repairs to the ceiling. When dealing with customer relations the manager yelled at me and wanted me to admit that the error was our fault because we didn't stand there with a tape measure to insure they installed the lighting as requested. I would NEVER recommend the company to friends or family as they do not stand behind their work.

My technician, Aaron, was friendly, courteous, & knowledgeable. I appreciated his recommendations, explanations, and thoroughness.

Always one to shy away from large contractors, I initially found Matt Kuckkuda when he worked for another electrical firm. My favorite contractor (out of many) I followed Matt when he moved to Michael and Son. Matt/Michael and Son have done at least 10 jobs on the house we are renovating and the experience has always been excellent. You can always request Matt (or whomever you prefer) and you never have to wait more than a day or two to get the job performed. Phone responsiveness is excellent and the service team is alway punctual, polite and business-like. The best part for us is Matt himself who always works exceptionally hard and does an excellent job. He will always answer your questions thoroughly, offer advice on the most efficient way to do things and will never do anything that is not as it should be or cut corners. Safety first! I WILL NOT trust electrical work to anyone other than Matt and I have lots more to do.

Excellent service. We had a circuit go out and could not figure out why. We called labout 3:00 p.m.and asked for same-day service. They said they could could someone come out but it might be late in the evening. Our electrician, Sam, arrived about 7:30 p.m., took a look at the problem, gave us an estimate, then worked through the puzzling problem (puzzling to me anyway), discovered the loose wire on an outlet, and replace the outlet in less than an hour. The cost was exactly as quoted. He was competent, professional, and courteous, which is typical for Michael and Sons. We have also used them for plumbing. Can't go wrong with them.
