The electrical team was fantastic and all the work was performed to my satisfaction. I did have issues with the plumber -- I had to contact Michael and Son because I needed to see if an overflow spout test was run on the whirlpool tub. I called the company the day after the plumber had been to my home and explained what I needed to find out and advised that this was urgent as I am in the process of selling my home and would be closing shortly. The phone representative took the information and advised that she would pass the information via email on to their plumbing department and the plumber would contact me. I did not hear from the plumber the next day so I called again that evening and spoke to another phone representative and explained the situation again. The gentlemen took the information, and said he would pass it on via email to the plumbing department and that the plumber would be contacting me. At that time I informed the person that I knew Michael and Son was listed on Angie's List and that I am a member. I informed the gentlemen that if I did not hear from them that I would be leaving negative comments. After two calls, I still have not heard from the company or the plumber. Unfortunately because of my experience with the plumber I will not deal with Michael and Son in the future. Even though I had a good experience with their electrical team, the fact that the company has made no effort to contact me makes me believe that they do not care about their customers. My rates above are based on my bad experience with my plumbing issue.

I had a problem with a floor drain that had been backing up in the basement of my rental house. It is a 60 year old single family home, which has had this problem in the past, but recently became worse. It was a very perplexing problem, but our technician, Chris, helped us brainstorm the issue and came up with several suggestions to help these 60 year old pipes accommodate 21st century appliances such as a HE washing machine. The initial snaking helped, but didn't solve the problem, but with Chris's suggestions the problem was solved. Thanks, Michael and Sons, and Chris Gooding.

They were super professional. The service was amazing!

They provided their estimate and were professional in completing the work, to include donning paper overshoes.

Sales follow through was poor. We had additional questions during the sales process but they did not return calls. I ended up giving our business to another company. It seemed like they focus on volume rather than a quality sales experience. We have used them in the past, their scale offers some advantage with additional installation crews.

He did really well. They were very professional and pleasant.

It went very well.. the electrician methodically checked everything that could have possibly have caused the malfunction. he explained what he was doing in language i could easily understand. everything checked out and as he continued to look for the problem, he discovered that a switch on the other side of the kitchen ALSO turned on these lights. i never use this switch but a house guest apparently did and the result was when that switch was turned on, the main switch would not work. this had never happened before as no one ever used that switch... well, until two nights ago. and i never thought that by using this switch, it would effect the other one. after discussing possible solutions to ensure this not happening in the future, he changed the main switch so recessed lighting is either on or off. i never use the dimmer so didn't need it. so both switches now work and turning one on will not affect the other. he also told me that the light bulbs i was using in the recessed lighting should not be used with dimmers. it says so on the bulbs. so we changed them. he also changed bulbs in another ceiling light which i could not reach. this is probably more than you want to know about my "kitchen power outage" but i was very satisfied by the very good and prompt service. would strongly recommend this company. oh and my electrician's name is Sam.

Professional all the way and exacting with detail to include the clean up afterwards.

Constantly having to call with new issues that arise. Never there when they say they'll be there. Always trying to try to blame the customer yet it's really the equipment.

I am very, very pleased with the work and would tell my friends to use them--as will I in the future.

Due to the age of the house the plumber wasn't sure if he would have the parts to fix the problem. The plumber gave me a choice of replacing the diverter ($700 - $800) or trying to replace the washers ($141.00 each & $29.95 service call). He was able to replace the washers and explain that he wasn't sure how long it will last. He said, "I may want to consider remodeling the bathroom to make it more energy efficient update."

Excellent job. our furnace kept cutting off - the repairman noted our filters needing changing and that may do the job - we replaced, however, if not we would need to replace a switch - that is what it turned out to be - we knew up front what it would cost and appreciate the fact that he didn't immediately say it was the expensive repair. Will definitely use their services again!

I was unable to talk to anyone. I spent over 20 minutes waiting to speak to someone at this company. I finally gave up and hung up.

I would highly recommend this service.

My major complaint is with the cost which seemed very high.

We were very pleased with the technician - he was professional and courteous! He fixed the main water leak on a Sunday as an emergency service request. Michael & Sons advertise emergency plumbing services and they were true to their word and advertising.

Had bought a Angie's Deal to replace a leaking toilet. When the repairman came we discussed my product expectation and the pros and cons of available products. I decided to replace toilet with same manufactorer instead of the deal product, i.e., keeping the high end product instead of replacing with a good, but inferior product. I was so impressed with his knowledgeable and professional manner that I had him replace the water main that had a stripped handle. Everything exceeded my expectations.

While it is never a good thing to have to cough up nearly $1000 for electrical repair right before the holidays, I feel comfortable with paying for the service provided by Michael and Sons. My home owners warranty could not find a contractor after almost a week of "trying." In the meantime, my tenants were without lights in about 50% of the house. I called around and got a good estimate from Michael and Sons, was able to use the Angie's List coupon for 10% off and the repair was done the next day. The electrical problem could have resulted in a fire. I will get reimbursed from HWC in about a month, which is annoying, but, overall, I'm happy that I resolved the issue quickly and it did not result in any life-threatening problems. Further, they gave me recommendations for additional work that I will take. I will be calling upon this company for that additional capacity and safety upgrade.

replaced water service line from main 200 feet from house. They were great.

"Exhorbitant" only begins to describe this company's fees for service. Shamefully high is a more apt description. What they do (or at least did in my circumstance) was hardly rocket science work and to be charges a thousand dollars for it left me feeling I had been taken advantage of (or slow-walked) to the bank. I know I can do better, i.e., get the quality plumbing services I need for a far more reasonable amount of money. I received plumbing and electrical services. The plumber replaced the bathtub spigot. The electrician installed a new bathroom light fixture and new electrical socket. | |Both technicians were very professional and did excellent work. I highly recommend them.

My husband had to go to the hospital the same night we had the electrical problem emerge, and Michael & Son's dispatcher worked with us and their centralized electrical expert to determine if it could wait until morning or needed attention immediately. And she was able to schedule someone to come right out the next morning. Other companies don't have a 24/7 dispatcher. And other companies I've dealt with, who were very good, need at least a week, sometimes 2-3 weeks lead time to get on their schedules. She also told us the basics of the service call pricing. I was amazed by the amount of work electrician Brenton Mullins did in the time he was here. He is a super efficient AND thorough one-man team. He is also very dedicated. He came first thing in the morning and worked until 11:45 pm to make sure my house was SAFE and warm to sleep in. In the midst of all this activity that first day and evening, he managed to get for me a warm cup of coffee. So, add "kind and considerate heart" to amazing and efficient. He explained everything to me so that I could understand what was going on. Based on his service and this experience, I wouldn't hesitate to call on Michael & Son again for electrical work.

They always do excellent work and I would recommend their service to anyone. I like that they recommend stuff that may need to be done and they are honest when certain things don't need done. They are on time, responsive, and clean up well.
