I contacted Michael & Son to repair my HVAC unit, which was only two years old, because our lines were freezing up. The first technician determined we needed more refrigerant, and we were charged $350. He didn't even stay long enough to determine if the issue was fixed. The lines froze again after he left so we called to have someone else come out. The next appointment was a no-show for a 10-12 window and I had to call after 12 when I didn't hear anything to reschedule. The following technician was over 3 hours late to our appointment. He couldn't figure out the issue and suggested that we may need to flush the system, but wanted to check if we had a warranty. After not hearing back I called the manufacturer myself and learned it had a 5-year warranty. After never hearing back from Michael & Sons we contacted another technician who quickly saw that the issue was that the coils were dirty, something that the first technician said he had checked. Not only am I out $350 dollars, my HVAC went un-repaired for almost a month. I am frustrated to have given money to a company with a blatant disregard for customer service and follow through. I tried to contact the company via phone and their website to resolve the issue but never got a reply. Even after filing a complaint with BBB they refused to earn back our business or try to make it right. Don't waste your time with this company.

Our appointment was for 8:00 am. After 1:00 pm we received a call from Michael and Son they were cancelling the appointment; It was too cold for the rep.. The temperature was at least 60 degrees. When my husband called the office, the representative would not reschedule and would not let my husband talk to a supervisor.. We still do not have an appointment, but Michael and Son was paid $348 for a maintenance agreement that they will not honor. Buyer beware! Do not do business with Michael and Son.

Michael and Sons charged my 91 year old mother $2300 for add-ons to her electrical system that were not necessary. The customer relations manager told me that the electrician said all the repairs were needed to bring the house to code, but in a second conversation said they were add-ons, so not needed to bring electrical system up to code. There is a note in their database that all work must be approved by me, but they did it without asking me, I only found out about the charge, by reviewing her credit card charges. Buyer beware!

Outrageous for small fix but didn't want basement to leak. Agreed to a specific "Prier" tap but tech decided to install a different tap with low cost parts totaling $30, because he decided not to drill and I was not informed. Service desk informed me its their rate and "cost of copper". Unauthorized parts installed and I still had to pay. I had to attend to my work. Emailed Michael & Sons and still no response. 1.5 hrs of labor and over $700 charged.

Sump pump was replaced. The cost is too much. If you think this is OK . To me it is Highway Robbery!!!!

Arrived on time and finished promptly.

Worst home repair service ever. The technician diagnosed the problem as requiring a new part from Carrier. 1 full week later plus 4 phone calls to customer service: no one at Michael and Son can tell me if the part has been ordered, or if they have any idea when they might have it, and also if they are even planning on coming back out (ever) to complete the repair. It's 36 degrees, still winter, no furnace, and no help from this company.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I do not recommend their electricians. Needed an electrician to look at a partial power shutoff in my house. Electrician arrived, pressed a couple of buttons, told me the power was fixed and left. Power shut off again a few hours later. I made an appointment for them to look at it again, but electrician called and warned me of the potential to charge me to look at it again to diagnose the same problem. I called the main number about four times to talk to customer service about my issues with this, and spoke with representatives, the dispatch manager, and the customer service manager. None would help me and told me that I needed to talk to a manager (Greg Hendricks) who was supposed to call me back and help me. Haven't received a call from anyone. Terrible, unhelpful customer service. "Diagnosis" of my problem did not diagnose or fix the electrical problem. I would not recommend their electrical service. Call an electrician. Side note - despite attempts to contact them, the only way I got a response was to post a bad review on google, who responded only that I should email customer service (mind you, I already spoke with a customer service manager)

The system works great and they were very professional.

The service went well, they did a very good job.They were professional, clean and on time. They were not the cheapest but they were reasonable and fair.

Michael and Sons did a great job getting me an estimate quickly. They had some nice high-end models, and a lot of options, and had good follow-up, calling me after to see how the estimation process went and making sure I knew they were available if I had any more questions. Went with a different line of product, but if I had gone for a higher-end model I probably would have used them.

Technician showed up on time but misdiagnosed the problem. Paid for a service call ... wasted my money. Had to call a professional (Parker Aire in Indian Head) to fix the problem. Will never use Michael & Sons company again.

Did not hire. Showed up unexpectedly to give estimate. I had requested 3 estimates and all made appointments except this company. Then the quote was five times higher than the company we hired.

It didn’t. They ware way too expensive

The work went great, pretty much on time and knowledgeable. The problem is the parts in the AC unit were defective. The vendor that owned the parts were found to have supplied defective parts for the type if unit I purchased. I have been having the AC unit serviced for issues since 2017, I only learned about the defective parts in the summer of 2019. I even paid an additional 1400 to fix the problem only to realize it did not fix the problem and they identified another problem. We have been going back and forth, and I call corporate at least 4 times a month with no one returning my call.

The work was very pleased, professional, punctual and very knowledgeable technician. Very reasonable pricing.

The install caused damage to my home and they walked away claiming that the system had a pre-existing condition. Be very careful using this company and please, please, please do your research on anything that they recommend because they work on commission and that can sometimes cloud things because that’s how they make their money and then the customer is left to fix the problems.

Very well. Technician returned on weekend and that was very appreciative.

This was the worst experience I have had with a plumbing company. I feel like I have been completely taken advantage of. We had a Michael and Sons plumber look at a leak beneath a faucet. He estimated $370 dollars to replace piping (which he said was needed). When another Michael & Sons plumber came to do the work, he said it just needed tightening and not replacing the piping. Great, I thought, I can trust this guy. Not so fast. Then he went on to charge me over $300 to replace a faucet cartridge (I provided the cartridge). This is a simple thing that should take only a few minutes. He misdiagnosed an issue with a toilet, and then tried very hard to upsell me a $900 toilet on the spot. Ultimately he charged me $400 dollars to remove the toilet and diagnose the issue (which he did incorrectly) but not fix anything. He also worked veeerrry slowly. Really terrible experience.

Anthony Bennett did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

It went well. I didnt compare prices with other companies but I think it was reasonable.
